I thought auto bans for posting in different subs is now against the site rules? Appeal it and send to the admins?

Probably about on par for most American comedians I guess? Honestly, Netflix needs to be more picky with American comedians for the European/UK audience. Their comedy doesn't translate very well across the pond. Amy "Lulz my vagina" Schumer is basically an extreme version of 'I say shit, now laugh too hard over an innocuous comment' sort of comedy. (Actually, I might be a bit harsh there to be fair, Netflix's Stand Up comedy selection is fucking gash anyway. Probably the only reasonable one is t…

That isn't an excuse not to remain polite, factual and accurate. And also, level-headed in discussing issues. I agree with /u/Badgerz92 that this sub falls victim to the same thing a lot of rights/censorship groups fall to, which is jumping aboard an outrage train, or listen and believing things rather than shooting to the heart of an issue and discussing it straightforwardly, which is no better than the detractors or SJWs or whatever.

Dick is much more casually thrown around Doesn't make it any better, and if anything, suggests the problem is the other way round. Unless you live under a rock you'd know the impact of both of those words aren't the same. Depends where you're at, don't go to Australia. :P

Whatever both imply a stupid and detestable male or female. Same definition, you're adding the extra "vulgarity" to it, presumably because vaginas are disgusting? Fuck knows.

Wifey is used all the time. Particularly among women themselves. When my cousin was going through her teenage years it was usually a term for whoever happened to be the best friend of the week provided no drama had occurred.

It is... technically. It would come under domestic violence as pregnancy coercion if she forced him to have a kid and emotional abuse if she faked everything. But there's a fine line though, if they agreed not to have kids but ended up accidently pregnant then tough luck don't stick your dick in there basically. If she actively sabotaged the pregnancy controls then there may be a case to answer. And obviously in this case with the fake test and whatnot would count as a form of domestic abuse. Th…

That's what I mean really. I'm in the UK and when it comes up for discussion it's all shock and horror as women get their tits sliced or their genitals interfered with. But circumcision? Free pass in most cases. Arguing against it doesn't really make much headway. That's always been how I've experienced the discussion when the topic comes up.

Is it though? It is "normal" for all intents and purposes, offensive or otherwise. We should call a spade a spade in this case, anything else only really discourages acceptance of the natural order of things really.

Controversial opinion time. Stop showing cut dicks in porn? I mean it's so normalised over in America... Anyway I was told (perhaps wrongly) that even American medical books just show a penis as a cut one and not as a natural one. Mgm is never going to be discussed much as long as groups of people believe it is 'normal' and perfectly fine without any religious influence etc. And stuff like the above examples only lend credence to the view that it's normal. Personally I think it should be banned …

"If you're against IMD, you're not a true Egalitarian" surely? AFAIK, the definition for Feminism is advocacy of women's rights, so the whole 'sneering' at men's issues wouldn't generally matter. Hence the whole, you can't be Egalitarian without being a feminist, but you can be a feminist without being for equality for BOTH genders.

Not only would they have that "special unicorn" factor but they have that "diversity" factor. Meh, sometimes companies just pick people who they assume will give them an easier time. A disabled male who spoke the language (needed to have a second language for this job) was overlooked for two female workers who didn't know or have any experience with the language or working with that type of disabled person, on the basis that they had more experience in that field of the job. On top of that, said…

I know that if I speak to my grandmother (his mother) she could tell me how to contact him, but frankly, I don't wish to speak with him unless it's in-person. Hmm... Get his contact number, send a text and ask if he wants to meet up? Or phone him and say you'd like to meet? May as well be straight about it. I mean, if he says 'no, fuck off' at least you know? I do believe it will become illegal in the EU. I'm not entirely sure on that. It's a messy situation, that will require Judges to basically trump religious grounds. What I imagine will happen is that the EU would rule it is illegal unless done for religious or emergency health grounds. Which, I think is what most EU countries are shifting to anyway - IIRC, if one parent (male or female) disagrees with circumcision from the very start, then the child cannot be circumcised in the UK. I find it very, very sad that they are doing this to a young girl that may really need help. Isn't really anything new there. People tend to close ranks and refuse to see alternative viewpoints as anything useful, unfortunately. Hopefully the young lady saw your advice and was mature enough for it to register over what I can only presume was cowboy-type advice from the rest of the topic.

I don't oppose people having the option to take that path, but the fact that having an abortion can be more traumatic in the longer term for some than miscarriage makes me question the orthodoxy. 30+ years of looking after a baby will do that. =p (I know we all say until the age of majority, but in some places thesedays it's almost impossible for kids to move out.)

Cutting off all future emotional or physical support by lieing to her family as well as dismissing the father will undoubtedly leave her emotionally vulnerable and setup for failure. Not to mention if it ever came to light would cause considerable trust issues between not just her boyfriend (if he's still around) but her entire family.

The problem here is in part down to the old myth that all/most paedophiles are men. Also, a hold over from the old days where men simply weren't meant to be around kids. To be honest, aside from the social media cretins, who you probably wouldn't trust with your children anyway, I think most upstanding citizens of the world wouldn't find issue with the photos. >_>

Ask him if he would be happy for his daughter to have her clitoris cut off. Body acceptance amuses me. I said to my girlfriend that there is a problem with girls, and it is related to advertising and money. Every commercial, every magazine, 'be this, be good, be beautiful, buy this, buy that, eat this, eat that, do this, do that.' and they all follow it, religiously. I hate discussing "Gender" full stop, because it invariably gets shut down as 'transphobia' or whatever. It is like treading on eggshells and there is simply no way to discuss it without someone painting you as a villain if you so much as disagree with any of it. That said, my view is children should be left well alone. The second comment from one of those ladies makes me think I'm not too far wide of the mark. All terrorists are muslims, therefore all muslims are terrorists logic going on there. You're painting everyone who attends that sub as a 'bad guy', and moreover, you're basically alluding to them not be capable of understanding serious issues like rape. It seems to me, rightly or wrongly, you've already positioned yourself as sitting on the side of "these guys are bad irrespective of their views".

Um, from what I've seen of KiA, it highlights ethic issues in the media, so I don't see what the issue would be for having people there being able to contribute on r/rape - Particularly as the two would/should be completely divorced issues. I don't see how the two conflict in that matter. And if I 'understand' one it shouldn't necessarily preclude me or others from understanding the other. So what exactly is your point? =/

r/feminism auto-bans people from this sub, just like r/rape and various other subreddits ban people for even posting on r/kotakuinaction As they say over in KiA, totalitarians aren't known for their finesse, it doesn't matter WHAT your views are, you're a threat for simply associating with something they fear/disagree with. Which is a sad thing.

Unfortunately, all I see are the activist groups and hefty donation spam websites. Very little on discussions. There are some topics that do crop up, on places like R/Sex, but, unfortunately, there are a ton of people who will pop in and go really extreme on the pro-cutting agenda, it's a societal thing I guess, and one peppered with misinformation about hygiene in particular, that people use as justification for it. Drink driving is a strict liability offence, meaning it doesn't take into account intention or the state of mind. If you're drunk and you drive, boom, guilty, doesn't matter about anything else. Creating a contract on the other hand, requires a person to usually be of sound mind or to have capacity to create a contract, and thus enter into legal relations. Worth mentioning that the leading case in England and Wales is Radmacher, where the husband won against his wife for the financial settlement. If you ever get into a group discussion with girls, it is always fun to pull them up on that. Your explanation is correct, in fact, in Family Law classes a lot of people were surprised about the rules for surrogates, which is why it's very very risky to do such things. Seems to me the negative reviews on the book is because she set out with 'hur dur patriarchy' views in the first place and reflects the reviewers shock that people could even think in such a way anyway (That men don't have humanity, feelings and whatnot...) So I suspect (I haven't looked at them all) the positive reviews are from people who held the same views, or people who believe that many people hold that view and need something as simple as this 'experiment' to tell them otherwise. (Not kno…

I was confused for a moment there. I worked for Innocence Project during my time at Cardiff University as a Law Student. I was scratching my head about the DNA thing, only just realised this is the American based one. Haha.

Could very well sue to raise the medical/cultural issue. But, it is very much likely to be an entrenched topic that will not be entertained very much without a cracker of a lawyer and a water-tight factual case disproving the benefits and proving the downsides as well as presenting evidence of a real risk of emotional and physical distress. Though, my experience is based in English and Welsh law, and therefore European Human Rights Law, neither of which is likely to be similar to whatever state …

The foreskin is naturally fused to the glans (head) of the penis until as late as 18-19. That bit is something a lot of people miss. My family never told me anything about that. I had(have) a friend in America though, and she asked me for advice on that matter because she's down in an area where circumcision is a regular occurance. She wanted to know what to do with her son, they had decided not to cut him, but they didn't know if they were to pull the skin back or leave it as is...

Might I ask why you were circumcised? And how old were you when you figured out what it was/meant?

IIRC, the left-wing Labour party of the UK were pushing for the burden to be reversed. I forget if it was implemented, I do know there's some things that have been declared off limits, you can't character assassinate a rape victim in court anymore, but I forget if it extends as far as not being allowed to show she's of a dishonest nature. Sexual history is no longer allowed to be brought up either if I recall correctly. Anyway we went through a phase of 10 or so years where Labour and Harriet Ha…

I'm pretty sure it would be illegal in the EU anyway. Though they may justify it and no one would bother getting tangled in any legal mess from it, so it would probably be swept under the carpet.

I think he has a point tbh, maybe tempered by society's expectations but mostly its the language, as you've just shown, 'sexual assault' is a broad term; A survivor, we see as someone who almost died, a sexual assault survivor seems to make the issue a bigger one than it may even be, particularly if the person is being a-la drama and claiming they survived a sexual assault when they were simply patted on the arse as they walked through the corridor. (Colour me a cynic!) "Rape survivor" on the ot…

Didn't you report it to the police?

Yeah, I believe its a civil waiver for civil charges and to not take the case any further than the show. The show is considered an accepted form of meditation (ADR). This is probably why Judge Rainder on ITV only focuses on small claims and things eligible for ADR and nothing to do with anything more serious.

That's not really surprising, I find quite often those who do well in their career and make the necessary sacrifices and so on tend to not need to cry 'feminism'. Also it isn't a good movement to be associated with when you're going through some career paths that require you to be particularly open minded, law especially. Those with hang-ups on causes and beliefs get exposed quite quickly in law school. Not to say you can't have a belief and agenda, just it's far easier to get by without having …

Tbh, I didn't even know there was a 'women's day'... Just as I didn't know there was an "International Men's Day" - 19th November for those who are curious. Since both days exist, there's no real issue here, other than perhaps the celebrations around them. But, to be honest, I didn't even notice Women's day had come to pass.

Thing is, what he 'says' with his evidence etc about the holocaust, about rape culture and so on, all that shit will and can be discussed at college level in the UK, never mind University level (i.e. your high school and college I think...) and can be very close to disturbing/uncomfortable, yet is actively encouraged - provided it never gets into the realm of personal attacks etc. For America, land of the free, to censor such opinions at a place you're expecting to discuss such opinions, kinda m…

http://www.education.com/reference/article/gender-academic-achievement/ Sums up the early-age differences and only wants to tackle the female 'problem'. This isn't anything new though, in the UK newspapers used to publish statistics showing the performances of boys and girls throughout school years and if I remember right, girls started strongly and boys finished strongly - a result of the late maturity of boys and early peaking academically of women.
