It's how you handle yourself. Relaxing via an activity is like putting a band-aid on a cut... meditation is like practicing the marshall art of not-getting-cut in the first place. It's literally a re-wirement practice, example is labeling of thoughts or sensations...(car horn - sound, thought about lifting.....oneitis thought...) The difference is monumental...not to discredit actual relaxation though, that also has its purpose.

While it was considered pseudo-science, not so after research. https://journals.lww.com/neuroreport/Abstract/2009/01280/Long_term_meditation_is_associated_with_increased.14.aspx https://books.google.nl/books?hl=sl&lr=&id=1YnP0Jx-QvIC&oi=fnd&pg=PA195&dq=MRI+scans+of+meditators+study&ots=tAfvweSUY_&sig=Q_UmhFMUNR3VNDeQeYU_YVwIUbs#v=onepage&q=MRI%20scans%20of%20meditators%20study&f=false

While this all rings true, the point of results being directly proportional is dubious while somewhat true. We are trying to improve our minds and body... and while lifting specifically for 2hrs a day with intensity, doing it 6hrs a day is overkill for the body (save being an athlete or in the meditations case, a monk). Now, there are retreats for meditation which basically act as a ferrari getting you from point A to B (and C, D).. by teaching you techniques and putting in the practice, however…

Learning to have some positive emotion related to achievement of some goal (gratitude, pride, compassion) is a much healthier alternative to whipping yourself into shape all the time. The thing about this post, as everything under the sun, is about the correct stating of the old adage, practice equanimity. If not practiced, people get hooked on the highs and are pancaked and in denial when experiencing a low. A great...if not the greatest quality of a man OP is referring to, is to accept everyth…

As a gym nut that does pretty much 7/7days training with either climbing or the king's lifts, it gets boring really fast. Problem is, the good vibes from being completely wrecked by the exercise, that muscle fatigue, the feeling you did something, besides looking like a greek god.. In today's society, if you don't have access to mountains nearby, it can get a bit rough in the city, making you get stuck and having to cycle routines just to keep it "fresh...ish". What would some good alternatives …

What exactly about e-readers (like a Kindle) is not good? Find it very practical, because some very, very obscure books you simply can't just order and get them... Then again, I also wish to have a library full of the books I'm reading one day...

There is a lot to say about cravings and diet in general. What I can say, after going KETO (no sugar at all, in fact no carbs at all) is that my clarity sky-fckin-rocketed and There's no more dips in the day, just a buzzing energy and the occasional, oh, I should eat something. Regarding coffee, it may be good towards the body, however my opinion is it's just a faux feeling because the eating-lifestyle is not in check. Wouldn't an easing-in of such a law, i.e. starting full effect on every kid born after 2020, rest are subsidized till grown up. I.e. cycling out the cancer* (pumped&dumped only) of single-parent households thus improving social safety & culture and general education? Great post. Feel that this is a bit centered on the "bonus" effects of waking up early. I agree, they are fckin amazing. This is spot on. The music is so over-used in our daily live that it becomes a struggle to block it and have a productive time. Case in point: Asked gym director to make a time-slot (early morning) where no TV's or music are on. If we voice our desire for a proper place to lift for example, we can make it so. Music and TV during lifting ...especially cancer pop music is very draining.

Stage one of control ~ awareness comes most easily when your environment (the terrarium of the mind) is somewhat clean. It's much easier to see the pulls of everyday influences when there's few of them. Hence, the notion of removing ALL vocal music (even positive one) is best. You simply avoid having to deal with the notion of "Is this good or not". For each and everyone, it's different, yet the begining (cleaning stage) is the same (atleast for making it easier). P.s. This goes for anything, mu…

I'd like to add that as long as you make it 2 minutes per day, every day, you're on a path of success. Those 2 minutes will slowly but surely increase. A habit will be formed. Before you know it, you'll be past the 1st stage.

That's very interesting, so many times, have I seen that picture, yet not even once did I see the brain in it! What I believe is a bit in reverse of your opinion, from what we know about consciousness, we understand (currently) that the most primitive forms of life have it, albeit in the form of: *hungry *eat *explore... Why I believe the father is the body is because without a body, there is no mind, first there has to be a brain in order for there to be a mind (evolutionary style). The belief …

A connection I made, let's say from evolutions perspective: An amoeba or single cell (Body) --> evolves Ape / Human from this sophisticated enough (Body) ... evolves Mind (The Son). Observing Both, is our Awareness (The Holy Spirit). So no, God is not the mind, and Jesus is not the body..... You could say the trinity composes everything there is (from your perception of reality, the universe (yourself) ...god is all three.

Before any quick, hyper-warp fixes are used (that may potentially backfire) I would VERY strongly recommend 5 minutes of meditation. Life is a journey, a long marathon. While psilocybin has showed me much more than I ever expected, it's the chipping away towards the CORE, strengthening our focus that, in the long run, makes us. Allan Watts had great insight into it all (life-questions-wise). Life is meaningless as long as we make it meaningless, flip-side it's meaningfull as long as we MAKE it so. There is no right or wrong way about this, each get's a set hand, and you play. Being in a somewhat same boat as you, there's something i learned from being in a relationship. The struggle. Becoming better than your past self. Passing more shit-tests. Having less regrets (to eventually none). Biggest point I learned from my L…

The funkiest thing that changes your world, is the realization that the mind is a TOOL. Just that...an input command terminal, a wonderfull servant. There is a certain fun and intreaguing aspect to telling oneself: "Relax, posture, breathe in deeply." TRP is a philosophy, and as such, has religious extremists. We need to start bending reality a bit more, seems like TRP's "anger phase" mentality took too many roots. People are confusing shit-tests with evil hell bent creatures out to harm you... Alternative lifestyles to say, capitalism? Working in a cubicle, the rat race? Humans by and large are all the same, all they want is compassion and sympathy. Like I said, if you don't possess the confidence, you can fake it (again let's not assume arrogance) and it servers as a catalyst, the practice. When you say focusing on what is value, thats good, what your actually supposed to do, however, it does not guarantee you confidence. I have met valuable men, with 0 confidence. They could do their work brilliantly, but it was a sort of Doning-Kruger effect for them, as in, they knew so much that in turn realized they knew nothing and thus felt inferior…

I disagree, for people that are sheepish by nature, acting like they are confident will serve as training, producing the actual confidence the more they try. Hence, the saying "fake it till you make it". There's a TED talk on confidence and this, you might look it up. P.s. arrogance is not confidence and not really close to it either. Don't start mixing the two.

There's an exercise my dentist told me, which happened to affect my jaw/neck balance. It was simply to open (80%+) and close my mouth while keeping the jaw as far back as possible, about 50x repetitions, once per day. Surprisingly effective. Having such a lifestyle without knowing how to cook? Once you get into your 30's and your metabolism starts to slow down, no amount of exercise coupled with junk food will keep your six pack. Bonding over pizza? Wow, much bonding, doge approves. It's just not the same thing as is cooking with your buddies or girls. If your from the US, thin…

You're talking about selection, thus, do selection, girls doing their PhD, easy as that. But do beware, PhD does NOT equal wisdom. People have a myriad of wonderful skills, as you lack some of these skills, so do others. My advice is stop worrying and just go through as many new people as you can, odds are, one out of 20 will be a smart/funny or some nice quirky combo you might like. Don't complain, go search (and be open minded about what girls lack, see what they offer). Good luck!

Nietzche - Thus Spoke Zarathustra - Mind blowing but alas, very hard to digest book, from existence issues, culture, women, and overcoming the self (man) I highly recommend the book, when/if you read it, have a notepad and pencil ready, do a MindMap or at least write down the idea as you understood it behind each chapter (the chapters themselves are very short, fun)

Go into the bathroom. Look into the mirror and say to yourself:"I'm sorry i was such a piece of shit killing you, I love you man". Bring up the emotion of disgust while thinking of when you smoked in the past. (ONLY PAST) Associate smoking with disgust, trash, shit, anything bad you can think of. Associate it continually, 1 week or till you feel comfortable to say I feel disgust for smoking. Wish you the best P.s. It helps that you stop smoking when you start associating

Fun thing you can do. When you have an undesired habit (say bad posture, mind-wandering, whatever) you can play a Pavlov's Dogs training game. Each time you catch yourself doing the aforementioned thing, penalty time! 20x push ups, or 40 squats, get creative. One thing your blinding yourself is (and we just don't know the situation, bare in mind), in TRP we hold women accountable for LITTLE things as much as the big ones, give her enough room to walk all over you (what you know as shit-tests) and guess what eventually happens? 2 sides of a coin

Point I'm trying to enlighten you with, it's always a two way street. Of course they should be accountable, however, think about this. Why is she unhappy and has the desire to cheat? Blind fool, I clearly gave 2 options, if he loves her, stick around, get better, if he doesn't, go legal. I stated that she doesn't know better, not that she is not accountable for it. It's like saying why are women shoplifting sometimes when they CLEARLY have the money, because they REALLY do NOT KNOW any better, they let their impulses take over them. Go back to reading & improving.

You're new here aren't you? Go back to reading, maybe you'll learn. It is not her fault, she REALLY DOESN'T KNOW BETTER, because if she DID she wouldn't have done it and actually expressed what is lacking in the relationship and tried to make it work. Again...go back to reading

People are hung up about legal stuff, when they should be first asking YOU do you still love the bitch? If yes, then up your game by a ton, money isn't everything that's why she wants someone for a fling. Thus you need to discipline her, make her submit to you. What you're telling yourself is, this couldn't possibly help? How could it? I'm not in control. Poor analogy since you cannot "over-breathe" air. It's called hyperventilation for a reason, the consequence of which is dizzyness and in some cases colapse. The body will reverse into a natural state again upon experiencing this. As a recent RPer and with somewhat similar interests (psychology philosophy etc.) I'll share my two cents here. Every man has their own version of TRP or BDSM or whichever perspective on life about socio-economical conundrums you want to call it. For me, TRP represents something special.
