Sounds pretty conservative to me. What's wrong with 18+ streams having naked chicks playing video games? If there's a market for it, I don't see the issue.

Jesus, what am I about to do. In Kylie Jenner's defense, I have no fucking clue who Kylie Minogue is, and I've known who Kylie Jenner is forever. And it's not like I'm a fan or something. I'm not. I hate that kind of vapid crap. But I would guess that, at least today, more people know who KJ is than whoever the hell KM is, even if it's just because most of those people hate KJ and what she stands for. I still don't think you should be allowed to trademark something as common as a name like Kylie…

Anyone absolutely could do this. But I'm making an educated guess that the prevalence of false abuse claims is higher among women. Reason being that it's much easier to weaponize existing laws against men than against women. Women also tend to use more indirect methods of attack when trying to hurt someone. It's not like men are any less likely to be abusers, but they tend to go about it differently.

While I'm inclined to agree, he was asking for an actual sourced statistic that verifies that claim. Without evidence, it's just an educated hunch.

They do have conscious thought, they just run on emotion instead of logic. Different operating system. We do genuinely autopilot a lot through life, and following your emotions is a part of that. Reaction and reasoning are two separate levels of thought, and reasoning tends to be deactivated unless you think you need the extra processing power. It's no different than the way we follow a crowd when walking, or how most people judge their speed and positioning based on the car ahead of them. You j…

Not necessarily, but to an extent. There are some core values MRAs tend to share that are conservative-ish, but you can also be an insufferably far left MRA as well. Some MRAs share the worst traits of feminists, but just support men instead of women. I would estimate that most MRAs are moderate-left. I've had some of my opinions grow more conservative over the years, but it'd probably be fair to call me a social democrat. A lot of us are just disaffected liberals who were cast out for being whi…

There's a fine line here. Men and boys probably do need to be comforted more, but not to the point where we foster weakness. We're seeing a lot of that these days, where a generation that has been overprotected comes out weaker for it. Just look at college student activists of today. They all believe in petitioning the governing bodies above them to solve their problems for them. While this is sometimes necessary in real life, you much more often have to rely on your own strength and determinati…

Yeah, it doesn't take much, especially if the guy happens to not have much dating experience. Most guys just want a reasonably healthy girl with a moderately attractive face who is a good person and laughs at their jokes. You don't have to be a "10". Just a "5" with a sense of humor, a kind heart, and the ability to stand on your own two feet.

I think it takes so long because it takes people a long time to find what makes life worth living outside of our biological drives. That, and the clarity that sets in once your hormones die down around your mid-late 20s. A lot of guys "find themselves" in that age range.

Every discussion on The View reminds me of that bullshit. Actually, most political discussion reminds me of that bullshit. Most people don't have principles, they just laugh when bad things happen to people they don't care about, and are outraged when bad things happen to people they do care about. Milo Yiannopolous gets banned from Twitter for hate speech? Leftists laugh. Leftists get banned from Twitter for hate speech, because of their own rules no less? Outrage. She's a mother and she's single. Therefore, single mother. Doesn't mean she's raising the kid by herself, but if we're going to argue the definition of "single mother", I think this qualifies. Your title makes for a quippy soundbite, for sure. But it's just not accurate if you think about it for five seconds. I absolutely agree with the sentiment, though.

Oh, what do you know, there are a bunch of studies showing that your position is uninformed. Surprise surprise. Any idiot could tell you that change in humidity alone can rapidly increase the rate of bacterial development. It's why people who do meth end up with really nasty mouths. It's not a huge leap to assume that these factors may affect viral reproduction as well.

This is what's known as "whataboutism". Both issues can exist at the same time. Bringing it up is just a deflection tactic to take away from whatever issue was brought up first. Do I care that women are oppressed in the middle east? Yes. Is it more important to me than my own country oppressing men? No. Why? Proximity. The same reason you care more about your wife dying than a random man in China. Not only that, but I'm not a citizen of the middle east. Under the various country's laws, I have n…

How have they been hiding the discrimination against men by affirmative action initiatives? To discriminate for someone, you inherently must discriminate against someone else. There's no hiding that. Most people just don't care, because it doesn't directly affect them yet. They only care when they get passed over for promotion by a less qualified woman just because she has a vagina. Then suddenly they become a misogynist like the rest of us. It's being "hidden" by apathy, not subterfuge.

It makes sense if you fervently believe that you can take an unprincipled stance and still hope to create the society you want. The problem is, that's like trying to land on mars by making your launch as energetic as possible, but not using any stabilizers or parachutes. Yeah, there's an infinitesimal chance that you might land on mars without the entire ship being destroyed, but you're much more likely to die on impact or miss entirely. Citation needed. Personally, I'm a morbidly obese guy (400+ lbs) who would probably be a lot worse if not for my continued attempts to eat healthy and be active. I know exactly what it's like to be so frustrated with your physical appearance that you don't want to live anymore. That said, this person didn't have to be mean about this. I disagree to an extent. I think alimony should be "opt-in". Alimony serves an important purpose in a traditional family unit, which is still favored by loads of people. If my fiancee and I decided we wanted one of us to be a full time stay-at-home parent, and the other to be the breadwinner, then I don't think that the stay-at-home parent should be economically penalized in a divorce because of the way they divided the labor. When you get married, in the traditional view, you become one unit. Y…

Never attribute to (calculated) malice that which can be explained by incompetence. Or, in this case, incompetent malice. You're likely right that the judge is intentionally making this guy suffer, although I find that potentially doubtful based on the easily foreseen consequence of his ex suffering from lack of alimony. However, I think you're overly confident that there's a conspiracy going on. I think it's much more likely that it's a combination of the spread of a pernicious ideology (femini…

Wholesome is the wrong word. It's only wholesome if you think the proliferation of the idea that men as a group aren't worth dating is worth the acceptance of homosexuality. That said, I actually think it's funny and have no issue with the comment itself. I'm pretty inclusive, barring transgenderism which I take issue with from a professional standpoint. I think toxic masculinity has a place as a descriptor. The error made is thinking only men can exhibit or support toxic masculinity. A woman can be masculine every bit as much as men can. Secondly, there is such a thing as toxic femininity. Some people have proposed that the current state of the west has come about because of it. The value of indiscretionary compassion has led to helicopter parenting, and a particular desire for security over freedom. It has also led to the rise of "feels over r…

A big part of it is socialization. Look at media that targets the female fantasy. It's usually about some wealthy guy sweeping her off her feet. It's understandable that some women would take this on as a subconscious expectation, even though it is not an accurate portrayal of reality. But it's also likely based in evolutionary psychology. The division of labor in the caveman days made it ideal to rely on men for protection and support. That subconscious bias hasn't left just because we recently…

I try to distinguish progressives from liberals. I land pretty firmly on moderate liberal values, and I have been pointing out the double standards and science denial of progressives since the early 2000s. They may call themselves liberals, but they transcend the ideal of "responsible freedom" to "freedom from responsibility", but, of course, only for them.

Yeah. Everyone seems to be pretending that loads of women didn't choose to sleep with Harvey Weinstein to progress their career. I get that it's a power imbalance, but that doesn't actually remove agency, contrary to leftist teachings. They still had the choice to build their career a different way, or switch careers. Women who were willing to sleep their way to the top normalized that type of career progression. If women weren't typically willing to do something like that, it wouldn't have beco…

I don't think it should be (or is) outgrown. It should be recognized. Humans are fucked up. Not men, not women, humans. Pretending that one group is more fucked up than the other should just be shut down immediately. Firstly, being fucked-up transcends racial and gender boundaries. Secondly, it's actually okay to be kind of fucked up. We evolved this way for a reason, and the more animalistic parts of our psyche aren't just going to go away. This just means we need to be a bit lenient with each …

It's hard to say how much of that is your projection, though. I actually think the third and ninth ones impart a good-ish message. No one will love you unconditionally, and being in a relationship where one person doesn't respect the value of the relationship is unhealthy. A healthy man or woman doesn't need their partner, but does respect the value he/she adds to their life. If you can't live without your spouse, you're heading into codependency territory. Even if your spouse is otherwise a good partner, that will end badly if you ever break up or if they…

I still think it's funny that she's using the argument that the government is supposedly "forcing" women to have children they don't want. I'm not a believer in abstinence. I'm pro-choice and I support financial abortion. But people are not god damned children. If you choose to stick the pee pee in the hoo ha, you're going to get a fucking baby. I'm always worried someone who has more time and outrage than sense will try to track me down and get me in trouble for my opinions. I live in Canada, shits backwards here. I combat this by adjusting ages and time periods so none of the identifying information I share anonymously is entirely accurate. For example, if I were 34, I'd say I was 37 or 29. Yeah, but all she has to do is claim coercion. There's no good way to prove/disprove a claim of rape. A girl who was begging for it right up until the act could change her mind for whatever reason, and a guy could force himself on her, and it would still be rape. Because that scenario could take place, you can't assume that clear consent leading up to the act means he didn't rape her. This is a stupid thing to get mad about. I know that it's technically sexist, you're not wrong. But Subway is just doing this because it's a cheap and easy way to conform to legislation they had no part in. They're also fending off concern, which is justified by the way, that not having female only spaces might lead to harassment, complaints, and potential legal action. What about Wonder Woman? I thought that movie did a great job of not making it about her gender. She was just a hero, and there was no defensive girl power bs. The only thing that even came close was some sexism that made sense for the time period, and it wasn't belabored. Plus Gal Gadot is a ton more likeable than Brie, and so is her character.

Unpopular opinion here. Cheating isn't illegal, nor should it be. I think if you decide, as a couple, to have one person work and one person be a house-spouse to raise children, then the person who stays at home should be entitled to the economic success of the relationship. I don't think cheating should invalidate that, as I don't think it invalidates the work either party put in to the shared life up until that point. The vast majority of men do. You likely do yourself, at least subconsciously. Validation seeking can be unhealthy, but it's also a natural system we developed that increases our ability to work as a team. Politicians have, for the most part. As have corporations. I see a lot of evidence that people will lay down and allow themselves to be stepped on as long as they think the people stepping on them are victims. Words and mental manipulation are traditional "female" weapons. They are the way women tend to exert power, because they tend to be more adept at the fine art of socialization. Men tend to exert power with relation to their physical strength. Even when no strength is used, male language tactics are based in the potential threat of their physical power. These are generalizations, and male tactics have had to change outside of the working class cultures because even the implied threat of violence …

Personally, I'm of the belief that you're responsible for every decision you make while intoxicated, assuming you weren't drugged against your will. I don't think she should get alimony, but you're choosing to alter your state of consciousness when you drink or do drugs. That means you're accepting the consequences of your potential actions. Forgetting all other arguments for the moment, and there are many, maybe it's because rape victims tend to talk about being victimized a hell of a lot more often than rapists openly talk about their raping? Like, even if we give this woman every benefit of the doubt; that men really are just running around raping everyone. Of course we would hear from more victims than victimizers. It'll be viewed as benevolent sexism at worst, and they'll complain that the patriarchy is treating women like they aren't good enough to get in on their own merit, so are letting them in with lower expectations. They'll chock it up to men treating women with kid gloves. Then they'll complain when percentage of women in stem drops if we stop treating them with kid gloves. I've been speechless after talking to one of these people. Not because they were right, but because I couldn't understand the level of stupidity and/or pettiness they were arguing from. Like... Why the fuck do you care so much? What does it matter? Women don't want to work construction. Most men don't want to either. Lol, what? Feminism is a female empowerment movement. They don't care if men are equal, only that women are. As long as women are treated as well or better than men, the goal is being met. That said, feminists will still create imaginary inequality to justify their continued victim complexes, so they'll never be empowered enough to be happy.

Actors are kind of separated from the retailer mindset. She is selling her acting to the producers, not the movie to the audience. The $100m projection is based on opening weekend sales, not overall sales. So either you misunderstood, or the author presented the projection inaccurately. $100m in the opening weekend is fine. I disagree that they have no cultural push to work or be mothers. Where I live, in central Canada, women are expected to work at least until they find a husband that can support them, then they are expected to have kids, then they are expected to either keep working, or be a stay at home Mom. Yes, but I would argue that it isn't the same way that SJWs think of diversity as a strength. SJWs see equal distribution of race, sex, and sexuality on any given team as a strength. It's a very low resolution understanding of why diversity can be a good thing. For example, Jewish men being in positions of power can also be an example of diversity being a strength. It's the strength of a different culture and/or genetics, adding to their ability to move up the ranks and lead businesses. The same…

There's a way for intersectionality to go right? This is just the natural result of intersectionality. When you split people up into tribes that they didn't choose to be in, and then paint them as a universal oppressor, you inevitably reach this type of tribal warfare. The more you emphasize division rather than finding common ground and consensus, the more you foster tribalism. Hence the culture war. Well, communists do sort of want to commit genocide. Even if they don't at an individual level, that's where the ideology leads. You turn a group into an oppressor class, and then you destroy it. Regardless of the nuance of the situation. Maybe it's not so much genocide as mass murder, as the lines eventually get blurred and it isn't just the rich whites, Asians and Jews who are targeted. I used to consider myself a feminist. I still sort of do, in the sense that I support equal opportunity and treatment for men and women under the law. It wasn't until my late teens that I started to see the hate and hypocrisy. Then I went full on red pilled misogynist for a while, and joined the pua community. Spent most of my twenties balancing back out as a centrist. I don't regret considering myself a feminist. I regret that the values I believe in are no longer representative of the feminist…

I'm not sure it's misogynistic. I personally feel catharsis from seeing this kind of thing when I'm being told constantly that women can do everything men can do, and men aren't needed, and that women should be on the front lines in the army/police, etc. It definitely doesn't belong in this sub, but I understand why the op would post this here. For myself, it brings along similar feelings seeing this as most of the posts on this sub. Except, in this case, it's because it proves feminists to be i…

In my experience it's never a "plan". If they planned for it, it would require a whole other level of assholery. It's usually just that inexperienced men spend a bunch of money on a woman trying to impress her into dating him, and they just fall into a routine where he pays for everything. Once a man learns that this isn't really a reasonable lifestyle in a world where women make as much money as men, these kinds of relationships stop happening for them.

Except you can flip this so easily. They have the privilege of it being socially acceptable to wear a much wider variety of clothing to formal events. Men basically just wear suits, and that's it. Men's formal attire tends to make us all blend in and interchangeable, whereas women's is designed to make them stand out. That's partly why they want to wear something different every time; they want to make new, lasting impressions. Maybe the grass isn't greener on the other side of the fence. Maybe …

Speak for yourself. I view violence as a last resort, and avoid emotionally reacting to something before critically questioning it. I'm in the minority, I know, but we're not all guided solely by our emotions. When everyone was throwing a fit over the Covington kids, I was sitting here wondering whether they had actually done anything wrong. Because disrespect is not a crime. If it was, we'd have to lock up every teenager in existence. Everyone read To Kill A Mockingbird in school, but apparentl…

It's almost like women don't know what they want. Not that that's their fault, really. They rationally want equality with men, which is understandable. But their biological inclinations are completely different. So they are like a blind person fumbling in the dark, just grasping whatever "want" they find and thinking it's the "right" one. It's never the right one, because their animal brain wants to be with a strong man who can provide for them and has high self esteem, but men who are like that…

That may be true in the circles you run in, but most people don't have the money to be treating people every time they want to ask friends to hang out or go on a date. If I'm going out, it's because I'm treating myself, not you. I just want to go out with you because you're the one I want to spend time with when I'm treating myself.

I agree to an extent, but hormone imbalances make people fucking looney. Men included. We are all driven by chemicals and electrical impulses. If the chemicals are off, of course our behavior will be too. Learn the difference between pattern bad behavior and temporary hormonal behavior. If someone is regularly acting inappropriately, then it's their job to find a way to mitigate their behavior, whether through self control or preparation. The vast majority of people are able to lead normal lives…

It's amazing how one man did so much to reveal the insanity right under our noses. Like, I can count on one hand the amount of men I know personally who aren't respectful to women. Especially in a professional setting. But then they redefined misogyny to include standard practices of men pursuing women, where women almost universally prefer men to be the ones who make the big moves. I'm pretty sure they just want the human race to die out.

Let's be honest, the women complaining about this are not the same women who campaigned for unisex washrooms. Most of the women who campaigned for unisex washrooms are either well off and unlikely to need to use them, or maladjusted antisocial types who probably don't spend a lot of time in public washrooms. There is a minority overlap where some women probably thought it was a good idea, but realized it isn't for them in practicality. But I'd be willing to bet it's a damn small minority. I thin…

If you really "learned" psychology, you'd realize you can't actually "win". All you can do is minimize conflict. People are hard-wired to tribalize and radicalize based on their perceived hardships. All you can really do is de-escalate and create as much compromise as you can between disparate groups. A heavy focus on the value of critical thought would be helpful. If the media stopped trying to create angry mobs and instead focused on critically evaluating situations like YouTubers do, maybe we…

This is true. It has been true and will continue to be true. It's not a social issue, it's an evolutionary one. And I'd argue it's not even really an issue so much as a function of the system for weeding out less capable men. Obviously this sucks ass for men. But it's not something we're going to be able to change. And we probably shouldn't even if we could. The best men should get inordinate amounts of attention from women. I'm sure there is a way to oppress women psychologically with architectural design alone. But that's definitely not the goal of current architects. It's more like "how do I cut as many corners/costs as possible while still following all necessary laws?". But third wave feminists are just flat earthers under a different brand. I wouldn't mind a pay raise, as a dude in the medical field... But if you increase wages in female dominated fields, men will just flock there and out compete women for the top spots. It won't fix the problem, they're trying to balance against male evolutionary disposition. Women will never earn as much, on average, as men do, unless you are unreasonably tyrannical towards men. I don't agree that women should be allowed to lose control, nor should they be immune from the consequences of their actions. But there's a legitimate reason as to why society treats male aggression differently than female aggression. Male aggression is a lot more dangerous. That's not entirely inaccurate. Prejudice against the Jewish people didn't come out of nowhere. It came out of wealth disparity and the comparative suffering of the two groups. I'm not very well versed on the way wealthy Jews treated poor Germans, but iirc there was animosity there for a reason. But, as is the case today, the "oppressed" mistake the ruling class's racial or gender traits as their defining characteristic, when it is their wealth that separates them. It always makes me sigh, in the same way you would at an endearing idiot, whenever feminists promote women as a special needs group. The whole point of feminism was to stop looking at women as women, but rather as an individual with their own potential. It seems these people are unable to distinguish the male student from a broken home who worked his ass off to get into this program and the wealthy politicians and ceos who mostly happen to be male. Except that women aren't really pressured to be home makers anymore... And yet many of them still want to be. In fact, society pressures women to take on men's role and work their asses off. Do you know what that means? It means social pressure is not keeping them in the kitchen, psychological differences between men and women are. We've seen this play out in European countries. I can't be the only one who remembers the guy who lost his job because he was comforting a woman and touched her on the back in a completely normal way, except she was wearing an open backed dress at the time. He immediately apologized and made sure she was okay. She told him she was. Then he got fired over it. I think there's a difference between romanticizing war and remembering/honoring those who either volunteered or were forced to die for their country. Stuff like Rambo romanticizes war. I would argue that social programs for everybody, and then governments and corporations that keep each other in check would be the best system. Unfortunately, corporations are strong enough to control the government, so we end up in this losing battle where they are able to skew the distribution in wealth toward the top at an unfair rate. This is contributed to by the globalization of corporations, whereas governments are region based. If one government tries to control a corporation, they can j…

The problem is that they can never know you didn't do it. It can just be proven that it didn't happen as the accuser reported. And no, there is no wholly right answer for all situations of risk versus reward. Sure, some men and women are fucking insane and will ruin your life given the chance.
