You've offended all men forever.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 05:44 PM

It means you. You're gore. (<3)
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 05:20 PM

Vent more. I don't want to discourage you. Just follow sub rules, but please express yourself and frustrations
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 05:07 PM

Dude we're not disagreeing, was just a funny thought based on your comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 05:00 PM

I think when you find the right person they're going to see your reddit history and be so proud and happy they made the right choice. They're going to love your words and takes on the world. You're such a bright woman, Lillth. And you don't need me to tell you.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 04:56 PM

apparently two of them
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 04:40 PM

Gurl, don't get me started lol
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 04:37 PM

All ex's were crazy. Using "Narcissist" incorrectly
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 04:32 PM

What keeps a conversation going for you? And we're not disagreeing on the compliments aspect. I would be curious or weird if I got so many so quickly, when they don't even know me.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 04:16 PM

Are you reading Tinder texts? What's the context? But, yes, you're not wrong. Definitely red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 04:08 PM

Probably the idea of being used for money, or the "beta bux" bullshit. I think there's some legitimate and some irrational fear about only being valuable until you have certain status. My parents, for example, were both dirt poor, from poor, white trash families when they met. But they had big dreams. And were working towards more. They rode the bus in a small city with poor transportation, until a man from their church gifted them a piece of shit car. And my dad lived above a funeral home, with…

I WAS SHOWING MY CAT
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 02:08 PM

Lol dang it I wasn't trying to show off foot, just that cat was also blocking me from getting up.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 01:56 PM

Etsy is where I find almost everything now, because I can commission things and find personalized items so easy. Also we wait on the Steam sale and then remember we need new underwear.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 01:55 PM

Less than 10 days till loyl year! <3
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 01:49 PM

Ah, how splendid! I find myself immersed in this tome, and though the narrative holds a certain allure, the prose dances with such an overwhelming flourish that I must admit I am beginning to weary of it. It evokes memories of the youthful tales I once penned, back in my adolescence, when I would exchange each humble word for its more grandiloquent counterpart, consulting those online reading level analyzers with fervor, ever striving to ensure my work surpassed the lofty heights of undergraduat…

I can only handle one. She's a character with emotions lol. Your baby is so cute, though.

You just jealous
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 01:40 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 01:35 PM

You got such a mate. He's so cute and loves you.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 05:58 AM

Doesn't exist. There's modmail that users can mail. Or me. But modmail is definitely the better option because I'm not always available. Not trying to be dry or push off-ish. I just have a life/work so can't always be around.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/24 08:00 PM

As soon as males can carry the baby, they can have a say. As long as the whole burden of childbirth is female-only, females should retain complete control over their bodies and decisions. Men have to take the L on this. Someone is going to pay for the baby if it’s born. I’ve said this many times, but I dare any politician to propose raising taxes to care for all the kids whose dads have “financially aborted them.” These kids are going to need money for daycare, for clothes, for school, for food.…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 01:47 PM

So if a parent doesn’t give food to their kid who wants it they weren’t forcing their child to starve? Thats ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 01:40 PM

Did she create the child through asexual osmosis?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 01:37 PM

1/4 milk, 1/4 cup butter.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 06:31 AM

You need 1/4 cup to make Kraft Mac and cheese
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 06:22 AM

Yeah, pretty disgusting stuff
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 05:16 AM

Hopefully you know I was joking, Stacy-lite
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 01:17 AM

I read the Canadian sub today. Mate, I’m sorry. I hope you’re not getting the vile hate I saw, because it was disturbing

"Y The Last Man," while written by a man, is a fascinating read into a world without men. It's enjoyable to read, and while it misses a few easy targets, it's interesting to see a man's perspective on the idea of what a world without men would really be like. "Woman World" is another take on it, from a woman's perspective. And deals with hard issues that would arise in a man-less world. I think both are worth reading, fwiw.

That’d be a good T-shirt
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 12:33 AM

I added it briefly out of curiosity when another user here said it was their favorite for women’s subs. It’s…interesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 12:29 AM

Have you been browsing LetGirlsHaveFun again?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 12:25 AM

Honestly? Yea.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 12:13 AM

Stimulant use can do that. Please, please be careful, though. The more you use the less you take care of yourself. Even people “in control” can lose it quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 12:09 AM

The Midwest would be very angry at you if they could read
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 12:00 AM

Just dip them in ranch like an American
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/24 11:56 PM

Hey all, I'm making an executive decision that we NOT gossip or spread rumors about specific users in the daily thread. Especially when they aren't consenting parties. It's creating an unwelcoming environment, and at this point is targeted harassment towards some. We all come here because we enjoy the collection of people we see day in and day out, and making some of them potentially feel unwelcome by gossiping has to stop. The End. Carry On.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/24 09:32 PM

Never doubted you.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 09:04 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 03:25 AM

I don’t know other mods locations (except for one) or times they moderate, but I usually do 6am and 5pm PST, and sometimes things get left up because people are working or sleeping. The queue is usually long by the time I see things, but I don’t think that’s a failure as much as just people having jobs and lives. It’s all unpaid. And while I don’t expect you and I, as strangers, to agree just because I say so, but I really think the other mods here have the best interest at heart. I know I appro…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:55 AM

It depends. Some things get through based on how the post is labeled. It’s fairly standard for a lot of subs to also have “this post has received X amount of comments, time to make sure it’s ok” notifications.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 02:13 AM

Oh I was playing around, silly. Promise I wasn’t offended or anything, just making a joke.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:50 AM

Well all of us don’t have a group chat, but probably 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:48 AM

Oh yeah. Or I’ll remember one time in 2004 when I told a waitress “ok, smell you later” and laugh at the cringe. Meanwhile to everyone else I’m giggling with no ear buds in and clearly a lunatic.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:44 AM

I’m fine not being cool. I had my 20s and early 30s for that.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:40 AM

Early 40s, like me.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:39 AM

I get told I smile all the time so I must be happy. And I mean, I am. But usually I’m smiling because of thinking of something stupid or making up lyrics to “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas” in my head
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:37 AM

This sounds like me, but with older people 😂

That’s so apt. I have people hand me shit all the time like “wtf does this mean” Acquired talent 😂

You have such a good voice, you nerd. And it was a good pun. Sad others missed it Edit: I missed you put it back! Yass
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 03:09 AM

Totally fair. This is 20 students as a basis this year, with only 7 Indian small sample size, and just her observation
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 03:08 AM

Mine is equally garbage. I was told there’s a reason 7’s and 0’s are crossed, and it’s my fault
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 03:05 AM

That’s what I’ve read when I did I quick google, but majority of fine motor skill jobs are male dominated. Which doesn’t mean anything on the surface, but wondering now about women surgeons and the like.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 03:01 AM

I want to see the comic. Keep at it. I’m serious. Even as a random guy you don’t know. That said: I’m sorry you’re feeling down. Which I know means fuck all. But I mean it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:48 AM

Hahaha fair! When I read any doctor’s handwriting it’s all gibberish, regardless of gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:43 AM

That’s an interesting point.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:42 AM

Yeah, I’m curious why it might be. Reading these 3rd grade students letters you can almost immediately guess if the author is a boy or girl. Which is “weird” to me, considering these kids are pre-pubescent
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:41 AM

I’m legit curious why this would be. Not a “gotcha” question either.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:40 AM

So something came to mind: Do you think women hand write better than men? I hear a lot of generalizations of men have shitty handwriting, especially in medicine. But my best friend is an elementary school teacher, and she shows me letters they’re writing to the classroom’s elf, and it’s noticeable that the 8 year old girls write more clearly than the boys. I asked her and she said that the Indian boys write better than other boys (she’s Canadian for reference). I wonder if it’s cultural or ingra…

I know of many studies that show talk therapy helps for the majority. I know of none that says it’s ineffective or detrimental for the majority. You’re free to provide sources.

Cheating is such a scum behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:22 AM

I personally hate the spouse of someone who died running in their place and winning on sympathy, even with no experience. Isn’t a gendered thing, either. Just…no.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:20 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:17 AM

I get the intention, but naw. You can’t do that without getting into trouble. Deserved or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:16 AM

No. I personally got upset at the people who argued against it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:02 AM

I get it. I do. When people shit on my job (when I’m not anonymous on reddit) I’ll smile and move on. And a lot of men are adverse to therapy, which doesn’t help. Even though all the research we have shows most people benefit from therapy. But I get it. Thankfully, like the US elections showed, reddit isn’t the real world.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:01 AM

That last comment is excellent, IMO. And that sub requires sharing your credentials to post/comment, and the mods are pretty great about making sure bad actors aren’t just larping. That said, I’ll defend my profession till I’m blue in the face, but I know therapy doesn’t work for everyone. But there’s enough clinical evidence it’s beneficial that almost all healthcare systems and insurance companies are expanding their coverage and offerings for it. I work out of a primary care clinic, which was…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:46 AM

Always. Sometimes before it’s even over.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:36 AM

This woman at work is 61. A nurse, and a damn great one. She does the brunt of so much labor. I love her. Her husband died when she was 57, and she wants to move on, and this guy she's seeing now is just no good. And she talks about him and gen z and us millennials are trying to tell her...but her fear of being alone is so strong. I can't offer her professional advice, as she's technically "my employee" but damn. What I'm saying, I guess, is that even as someone trained for relationship advice..…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 03:04 AM

Jeff Foxworthy did a bit on, what I think is still the best-selling comedy album of all time, about how the southern accent doesn't inspire trust. And I've experienced that a lot, but I also don't want to woe-is-me it. I'm very privileged. And for talk therapy I think it's only been a benefit. But I can see my accent in a heart surgery coming across as, "JESUS THE TRAILER PARK GUY IS GOING TO OPEN MY HEART."
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:52 AM

Don 't know where you live, but the first few weeks of daylight savings in the northern hemisphere fuck hard with brains, in combination with the colder weather.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:48 AM

Most beautiful place I've ever lived. That said: I hope you finish your comic. I really do want to see it when it's ready.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:44 AM

I live in Seattle, but I grew up in southern Missouri with a mom from Arkansas and a dad from Virginia. So the accent is strong lol. EDIT: so when I had to do my supervised hours of therapy the woman I was under told me, "I've never heard a therapist tell someone 'y'all aint gonna make this work if you don't communicate.'"
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:37 AM

No judgement! Just not for me. I love Vegas. But mostly for buffets and magic shows. I love a good magic show and save my money for the buffet.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:35 AM

Gambling here is so weird. Where I grew up casinos could only be on the water, not the land, so they were all riverboat casinos. Also, you can buy lotto tickets and scratch offs at 18. Which is gambling. But you can't gamble in a casino until 21. There's no sense to it. Also, I just don't gamble. I lost 2k when I was 21 and drove to Vegas, and never gambled or bought lotto again.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:29 AM

What the gambling laws there? How many wallabys you have to wager?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:21 AM

I get a lot of people who love my accent, and some people who openly tell me "with that accent I didn't think you could be educated." USA southern accent, for reference.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:15 AM

One of the things I see the most is a mom or dad come in and talk about how they love their kid, but they never wanted them. And the guilt they feel because it was "just what adults do" or they were pressured into it, etc. I think too many people were sold this nuclear family / sitcom version of love. And it's awful when they realize this isn't what they wanted. "How do I be a parent when I don't want to be a parent anymore" is a question I've heard at work way too many times.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:09 AM

I feel for them if it's anything like lactose intolerance. I can still eat dairy, but ain't no one wants to be around if I do. Gut rot isn't fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 02:04 AM

How much are you stealing in this totally hypothetical situation that isn't real and you're not voice-to-text while spraying your clothes?

I don’t like guns anymore. I liked them as a kid because it was something me and my dad did. That said, buying a gun at a gun fair in Missouri was super easy. You pay cash to some guy and walk away with a gun. Our homeschool laws were similarly lax. I had so many hurdles in life because Missouri just doesn’t care about homeschooling kids.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 03:24 AM

I hate gangster shows, for personal reasons, but I know Sopranos is great. Also, a great voice and agree with the below about a radio show. Both you and FunEducation. You two should do something together.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 03:06 AM

I'd listen, for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 02:55 AM

That sounds like a friend. I’m not going to give you advice or bullshit. I believe you, and what you’re searching for is so real, important, and valid. I just hope you find them. I don’t need you to message me. I get zero dollars from it. But I’ll listen if you need to rant.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 06:40 PM

I wasn’t being condescending. It was a verbal gesture. I don’t think I’m above you, and you’re not my lesser. If this is the last conversation we have, I hope you hear that. Take care.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 06:28 PM
2

Possibly, you’re correct. I never said it was effective on all people. What do you think you need, personally? Not even therapy. Just what do you think would help? I’m not trying to prove you wrong. We aren’t fighting. I can be on your side, as a therapist, and admit when my line of work isn’t for you. I have no ego attached.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 06:22 PM
4

I’m a male in the field. And I’m not even disagreeing with you on a base level. Which is why I recommend CBT to many men. A lot of men (perhaps, accurately) see therapy as talking through issues when they want solutions. CBT is all about that. It literally takes ten years to get accreditation, though. And this field has a high burn out rate.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 06:04 PM
0

And as a therapist I would encourage you to do so. We get to pick our clientele more than our clients get to choose. And mate, spend years of your life, literally years hearing other people’s problems. You start to see similarities.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 05:52 PM
2

It sounds like you have no experience with CBT therapy. But if you’d like to share your therapist’s failings please do. In detail.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 05:39 PM

You got it. There’s a reason they gravitate towards positions of power. Men and women.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 05:06 PM
2

Talking through issues isn’t torture, unless you make it that way. Asking “why” is the basis of any problem solving.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 05:00 PM
2

It’s not. Talk therapy is good. Even for men. But a common thread is “let’s stop talking about the problem and fix it” A lot of men don’t want to hear the problem, as much as they want the solution. Therapists can offer that. But a lot of men see it as a failure to ask. And this isn’t a “men bad” post. I’m a man. And I’m a therapist. And I grieve for men. Who won’t talk.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:58 PM
1

That’s a good question. We only can gather evidence from those willing to go to therapy.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:48 PM
6

Because he conned me. And everyone he knew. It’s my job to “get” people. But he was so persuasive. And knew the right things to say and do. When I caught on, after he got caught in a lie he looked at me and said something akin to “I know you figured it out.” And it was scary. It wasn’t some bum ex. This was the guy with no empathy. And he was glad to pull the wool off. And I legit couldn’t handle him.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:42 PM
4

And while you and I probably don’t agree on many things, this is accurate. “He/she was a narcissist!” No. Not even close. Egotistical. Selfish. Awful. Yes. But as a therapist, I’ve known one narcissist. And he wasn’t some TikTok meme. He was the real deal. And he was truly scary.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:31 PM
2

I hear you. I hear a lot of patients with this. I can come off dismissive here because this is a “free space” for myself. But I hear you. And your feelings are valid.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:23 PM
4

Not disagreeing. My point was only that “my ex was a narcissist” gets thrown around a lot. And until you’ve stared one in the face, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. They’re a different breed.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:20 PM
4

Thank you!
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:17 PM
5

I like you. That said, you’re correct that it doesn’t help with many things. Narcissism is a good example. And a diagnosis I hate getting thrown around so commonly. Egotism? Yes. But few people have met true narcissists. And even CBT can’t help them. They play the game too well

CBT therapy is very helpful for “men” who don’t seem to benefit from talk therapy. But it takes 10 years to get accredited for. One of the longest accreditations in medicine. CBT is helpful for many men because it is based in tasks and lists, (to put it mildly) which many men benefit from. Talk therapy is clinically proven to help men as well, but the mindset is that it doesn’t, which is sad
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 03:49 PM

Sadly many times. Professionally and personally. And I hate it, because I’m scared of cops.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 07:54 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 03:04 PM

You would never know that by a lot of posters here. A lot of them say “women” but really mean “this hot woman on TikTok who I can’t fuck so I blame all of them.”
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 06:16 PM

“You were programmed and forced to like me” isn’t going to get me going. In fact, that would be a complete turn off. The hottest thing about a partner is that they choose you, and you them. You take away that choice and you’re left with a gooner cum bucket with a script. That’s not going to change anything.

I mean, most women who are dating older are statistically in the four year range. Even assuming age gaps of ten to fifteen years a better comparison than a 20 year old and a 60 year old would be a 20 year old and a 30 or 40 year old.

I trust the facts of the people who were interviewed after they voted. They didn’t mention “muh male loneliness epidemic and females don’t like my peepee and scary trans use my bathroom.” I trust those people who said they didn’t like the direction of the economy, and voted that way. You’re coping.

Identity politics wasn’t in the radar in any meaningful numbers for any large demo. The idea that feminism, “wokeism”, gender issues or anything like that has any kind of meaningful impact is incredibly ignorant of facts. I thought you all liked facts? The dems ran a shit candidate, and Biden was already an average and boring figure. A woman can and will win …

Just friends. She found someone a week later much more her type and they’ve been married for like 15 years now. Just wasn’t meant to be 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 05:04 PM

I asked a girl out when we were both drunk and she said yes. We end up keeping the date, even though texting felt like both of us weren’t interested. At dinner she ordered fish, which I thought for sure was a sign there would be no second date, because fishy breath. And the conversation was…not happening. At the end of the night I walk her to her car, and she asks if I want to come to her place, and then leans in to kiss me. I put my hand up instead in a panic and she gave me the most awkward “w…

Problem with 50 states setting 50 different sets of rules
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 03:57 PM

I agree about the protest thing. Voting is great and all, and obviously 100% peaceful, but a good protest and march is where it’s at (politically speaking).
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 03:38 PM

Anti pet people are almost as bad. Just don’t have a dog and stfu
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 03:21 PM

No, no. That’s just when some states that are very red/blue get called by their expected exit polls. Connecticut will be blue and called early, shortly after polls close. Kentucky will be red and called early after polls closed, etc
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 03:06 PM

10-11 est is when we’ll have the first good look at the east coast. PA is the “biggest” state in play, so that will be worth to watch, but they notoriously don’t count all their early votes until after in-person votes, and early votes tend to lean left. So PA could be leaning red almost all night, then they start counting a majority blue votes, and that’s when the right wing people will start calling foul.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 03:04 PM

8-9 pm EST is when polls will close for east coast states on the whole, and some states will likely be called immediately based on exit polling (these tend to be blue states in New England and red states in the south)
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 02:41 PM

Nope, I volunteer. You can donate the pay you make to a charity. But I should’ve clarified that yes you do get paid, just a lot of people volunteer on top
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 02:24 PM

Working the polls this morning, for the fifth presidential election in a row. It’s basically just explaining how to use the ballots but this year we were all told to crack down on any political attire or posters/signs people bring with them. Like it’s always been that way, but had to pass a test by yesterday about what is and isn’t acceptable, and they’re definitely reminding us about “other country’s flags” a lot extra. Anyway. Love doing it. Maybe one day I’ll get to move up and count/recount …

If they’re happy single rather than with men they’re not attracted to, then their standards aren’t delusional.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/24 11:01 PM

The majority of men are not single. Maybe in a specific age range they’re a slight majority, but that fades with age. The rest is just angry yelling

Agree. Whole thing is fucked
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 01:17 AM

I am an atheist now, but I miss the community aspect of church. Feeling that I belonged. Having friends just there every week in Sunday school. Youth group. Small groups. Lots of friends and meeting new people all the time. It’s the only aspect I miss of religion. It was such a good third space

Some people just don’t really care. The majority of people in the states don’t even vote. They’re just watching Love is Blind season 7 and don’t even notice or care. A lot of people are apathetic to their own values, so they can get along with most people because they down the political stuff out.

I wouldn’t be uncomfortable with my partner doing this, but in things that do make me uncomfortable we talk them out and try to get to the route of it. Same goes for her with me. So much of this could just be solved with a good heart to heart, rather than dude trying to put his foot down or something.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/24 09:08 PM

Looks like it was “woe is me/black pill/incel content” I know they said they wanted to crack down on it more, so I imagine it was that, plus probably a last strike situation.

I’d follow her lead. I have had a step son before, fostered puppies and kittens, and my current pets are rescues. Love doesn’t come from genetics, it comes from the heart. “Muh legacy” means nothing to me, if that biological kid is a raging douche canoe of fire. And so maybe no one takes my last name. When I’m dead I’ll be dead and won’t be able to care. Means little to me. I already know I’ll never have genetic kids. Too old, and I’ve had the snip. But we may foster later on in life, and having…

Age gaps, in my opinion, only applies to younger people who are like 18-28. A 30 year old dating a 45 year old isn’t a big deal to me. A 20 year old dating a 35 year old is gross to me. “Girl power” is all about having the option to have a trad life, as well as the option to divorce a douchebag and focus on your own career. It’s all choice. You having the choice to get a trad wedding is because of girl power.

In my experience we’re all the same, basic people. We just learn, and with that knowledge often comes hesitance. Not willing to jump into things you might’ve before, because you’ve been burned before. I think people also just calm down. Hormones aren’t the driving force. Clubbing is replaced with wine bars or house parties, now that people have houses, or at least apartments that aren’t all IKEA. But the basics stay the same.

I admit that they could’ve subconsciously felt that way. But upon meeting me it’s very obvious I’m effeminate and a pacifist. I’ve never been in any physical altercation, and can’t imagine hurting anyone or even yelling at someone. But I’ve never struggled with casual sex or finding partners. It’s probably just that my social circles are very progressive and artistic leaning. Outside of my dad, I don’t know anyone who would allow a gun into their home, for example.

Exactly. There will never be an argument or debate, here or anywhere, that will make people change what they’re attracted to. I think some people believe they can come up with the perfect argument and all the people who aren’t attracted to them will just say, “ah, I get what you’re saying! I’m now attracted to people I wasn’t before because your argument was so good!”

To be fair, outside of arguments online like this, I don’t see anyone making large, coordinated efforts to eliminate the draft for men. So men, on the whole, must largely be ok with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 12:45 AM
2

Biological males can’t get abortions, so why would they need a right to have one? The better and more accurate way to frame this is: what medical reproductive procedures are denied to men? Because vasectomies are not banned in any states, nor are their reversals. The way you’re framing it is like complaining men don’t get a free annual mammogram. Of course they don’t. And it would be silly to fight for them to
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 12:42 AM

Are feminists, in your opinion, fighting to keep the draft for men only? From what I’ve seen most tend to agree the draft should just fully be abolished, even though it hasn’t existed for 50+years

In your most recent post I found it interesting how some men openly admit that their options are so sparse that they’d rather date shitty women rather than be alone. The thinking seems to be that the average woman can choose from ten guys who are interested in her, and most women would choose the hottest guy, even if he’s an asshole. The hot guy has the halo effect in full force, and can get away with being shitty. It makes sense to some of these men for women to not go after the guys benefiting…

My experience in the field is that a lot of men want therapists to give them answers and a to-do list for how to fix their issues. Which isn’t how a lot of therapy works. Therapists want you to self-discover and come to realize things on your own through guided conversations. You’re often meant to come up with solutions yourself, once you realize the root issues. Getting to those root issues is key. But a lot of men want to come in, sit down, say “I’m depressed and sad, give me a list of things …

I bring this up anytime standards are mentioned, but I know my standards have only increased with age, not decreased. I would’ve hooked up or dated a lot of people in my 20s, but after learning about men and women inside of relationships, my standards just continued to increase. Recognizing toxic behaviors, realizing it was better to be single and alone for months, if not longer, rather than settle. I feel bad for the men and women who are so anxious to get into a relationship, or have sex, that…

What's interesting to me is that the stigma drops the older the kids get. Young kids...why do you (as a male) want to be around them? But when you get to high school, and especially college, the stigma drops off so much. Like the ratio of female teachers in grade school was like 9:1 and in undergrad it was pretty even, then my grad school it was almost the full reverse. And, again, I get it. I do. And I don't want to just slam on straight men or anything, but I have to believe they are an even p…

I rarely make top posts here, but just thinking out loud: You know what sucked as a teenager...that as a male I couldn't babysit kids. No one wanted a 16-18 year old male watching their kids. And I get it. I know the risks. But even as a 16 year old male, I just loved watching kids play, and I loved my babysitters, and wanted to be like them. But my parents told me that no parents were going to let a teenage boy watch their young kids. And man, that sucked. I know in my heart I wouldn't have bee…

/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 09:41 AM

Totally fair. Smoking is how I gained friends in college. Mind you, I’m much older than most here (41) but long classes in college had smoke breaks and I smoked only so I could have ten minutes more with all those who smoked. It was a social thing for me, and seeing the people who threw caution to the wind just a tiny bit. I get it, and appreciate your answer

Again, I know there are selfish people who are jealous of their better looking friends. But I refuse to believe that most people are so selfish they’d cockblock someone rather than just look out for them. Look, it’s not “game over.” It’s “try again”

I agree. Plus, what better ego boost than to be the person who someone wakes up to, sobers up, has some eggs and toast and is like, “ohhh, but what about that guy…” How fucking flattering is that. For someone to sober up and to want to text you. Best high.

Some women trauma dump on men, too, and men are more likely to tolerate it rather than women who will more often tell their partner to go to therapy. A lot of men will often times accept their partner trauma dumping because they worry if they don’t let their partner trauma dump they’ll soon be single again. So they act as emotional doormats instead of standing up for themselves and telling their partner that it’s unfair to dump on them, and go to a therapist instead. Women call out trauma dumpin…

That’s neat you pick the unborn life. But as a male you have no say, so your pick ultimately doesn’t matter. I mean I can pick myself to be given a million dollars, but it’s ultimately not my decisions to make, so my pick doesn’t matter there, either.

That would be hard to answer. Overeating can be a sign of a lot of different issues, but weight gain could be pharmaceutical related as well. Which wouldn’t really be my business so early on to ask about or pry into. I would pay attention to signals or signs, but I would be hesitant to continue dating, honestly. If anything men should have higher standards and learn to be happy and content alone if no one meets their standards. I’d never, ever lower mine. In fact the list and criteria has only grown as I’ve aged. And I’ve always found someone who meets or exceeds those standards, no matter how high they’ve gotten. Some men in their early 20s declaring “it’s over” is just ridiculous to me. You haven’t even started, and you’re giving up and blaming women for it? Jesus Christ, grow up. Literally.

Make all the illegals citizens overnight so they can pay into social security and Medicare from week one. “No, not like that! The color is…all wrong!"

I was desirable in my 20s, and dated and/or hooked up a bunch. I don’t regret it now, but I also know I didn’t get much out of it. The reason being is that I rarely, if ever think about the people I just hooked up with. Like I remember the fwb situationships fondly, because I truly cared about those people, we just weren’t meant to date. But the ons and hookups with people at parties? I never think about them, so they honestly might as well not have happened. And I imagine it’s mutual. Like 15-2…

I mean I wouldn’t date someone without intelligence, but I honestly have no idea what “status” means in this context. This reminded me of this time at a party when I was in my mid-20s, and I was talking with this girl. She went to go get a drink and her bf comes up and says, “are you hitting on my gf?” “No, just talking.” “Why are you talking to her?” “She seemed interesting?” “Oh yeah? What’s so interesting about her?” Like bruh, you don’t think your gf is interesting? That’s a skill issue. That’s something that is bizarre to me, too. Not trying to be graphic or overshare, but I cannot get turned on unless my partner is showing she’s equally turned on. Sometimes we’ll start and one of us realize the other one isn’t really into it, and it’s always, always ok. We’ll kiss and turn on the tv or whatever. There’s nothing fun about having sex (to me) unless the person is enthusiastic about it. And yeah, “the other thing” is just awful.

In the past those men couldn’t all talk to each other like they can today, and that socialization led to a bunch of angry young men coming together and somehow not accomplish anything but get more angry. You’d think the chance to come together would lead to some kind of peace in the knowledge they’re not alone, and that their experiences and emotions are valid. But instead they continue to just be angry at women and use social media to complain about them. Sad, honestly. Waste of an opportunity.

Mate, I’m bi and dated men exclusively for periods of my life, and experienced hate from others first hand. I’m still going to be here thinking age gaps are fucking creepy and weird, and still also a knowledge they’re legal. People don’t have to like or accept my sexual partners and I don’t have to like or accept theirs. Thankfully now hate against my group is protected. People in their 40s dating teenagers get no special protection. They should fight for their rights, I guess 🤷‍♀️

I enjoy having sex with people, so I’ll continue not to lie to them in order to get it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 09:51 PM

I mean I was a virgin till I was almost 21 because I was homeschooled and raised religiously, so had like no social contact until I left home and went to college. I gave up that type of life and was very open about being a virgin. The first time I had sex was the most awkward and unrewarding thing for both of us. But it would’ve only been worse if I’d lied about my experience.

Women lie about the body count by default? What?

Better shot at being a piece of shit who does whatever it takes to try and gain sex. That’s ridiculous and evil thinking.

I mean, assuming this is true, men don’t have to carry the kids, potentially give up their careers for a brief, extended, or forever period, and they traditionally aren’t expected to do much of the daily stuff with kids. Also, there’s probably some biology mixed in about passing on genetic legacy. I wouldn’t find these to be surprising at all, given the case.

It’s been said kinda to death in this sub, but looks are important for getting past the first goalpost. If you’re not attractive to the person you want to attract you often times will never have a chance to show your personality and how your demeanor is won’t matter either. This is why even during the times I was single I rarely approached men or women at bars and the like. I didn’t want to be judged just on my appearance, and I didn’t want to try and start a relationship with someone just based…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 06:57 PM

I completely agree. Having higher standards only helps get better results. You just may not have more results. But I’ve turned down plenty of date requests from men and women in my past, because they didn’t make my cut. And I would always encourage people to just have high standards and not settle. Even if that means being single.

I actually like that it’s easy to get a divorce. Like maybe not easy in the legal sense if you have substantial assets, but easy in that all anyone has to do is just file for divorce and that’s it. End of story, end of marriage. The reason I like how easy divorce is, is because if it’s so easy to divorce someone, that means that if someone is staying with you (and neither you nor them are abusive, manipulative assholes) they are staying even though it’s objectively harder to. It’s far easier to …

/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 02:00 PM

That assumes that physical attraction is most important. I know men and women who are super physically attractive, but I would never in a million years want to be with them. Not even sexually. Their emotional and political maturity is completely incompatible, so they might as well be cave trolls physically, for as good as that makes them attractive to me.

I am not going to ever lower or adjust my standards for a partner because some dudes on the internet can’t get dates or laid in their early 20s

I think that’s a bold claim to make for all the millions involved in said situations. I’ve had fwb and situationships where we both knew and talked about what it was. I was best man at one of their weddings later in life. She and I remain close friends to this day. We just “used” each other for a quick bang back in our late 20s. Neither of us wanted to date. So, that said, not sure how you can make that claim.

It’s really difficult. Look at any thread anywhere on Reddit (just as an example, not like it’s hard facts or statistics) about therapy. Loads of men coming in saying therapy is a joke and a ripoff and they can get the same benefit from having a beer with friends. Which isn’t true, because no friends will let you trauma dump endlessly on them. And if you’re only revealing surface level things, you’re really not sharing are you? It’s not all men, it’s hopefully not even most, but as a relationshi…

Ngl the way you define a relationship sounds completely miserable. Like I would just rather be alone if I viewed relationships like that. I don’t want duties and responsibilities like that. Like it’s a job that others fill roles in. Naw. I would be miserable and alone inside a “relationship” like that, and would be much happier and fulfilled single.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/24 07:46 PM

The graphs don’t say anything about loneliness. They say single. I’ve been single several times in my adult life but I was still hooking up or had FWB situations going on. I definitely wasn’t lonely.

“Muh civilization” is such a tired argument. Society and civilization isn’t collapsing. Not even close. And men should have equally high standards. I do. I would never lower my standards just to not be alone. I’ve always been much happier on my own and just hooking up on occasion than I have been in miserable relationships. Men having low standards due to loneliness is definitely a problem. They need to be happy and content with high standards for any relationship, or else they’re just gonna be …

I mean, I think we both value looks to an extent. But, yes. For me that’s only an initial impression. She/he can open their mouth and then I’ll totally get turned off by their lack of knowledge or nastiness, etc. There needs to be SOME looks attraction. But it isn’t by and large the only or even the most major thing. And I say this as someone who dated a person for a long time who I wasn’t initially attracted to, except just. I absolutely agree that individuals matter and differ. Do you, personally, think there is universal advice? Me? No. Which is why even though I’d say I’m “blue pill” I don’t think that any platitudes from any “pill” are going to help lonely people. It comes down to the individual. And that’s so much harder.

I again am showing my age, but I definitely went from a “bad boys get all the girls” pill to, “just be nice and yourself” pill after a decade. I think this really is this gist of it. No studies or research is going to help you. Just experience. And those experiences are going to lead us to different views and opinions, because of the people and relationships we have. I personally worry about people who form their opinions around others who have seemingly lived similar lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/24 08:05 PM

I think that’s true to some extent. But I remember identifying as a libertarian in my 20s. But I changed my mind after a few years. Life experience definitely plays a role, though, and it can’t be understated. Thank you for answering.

I’m not arguing that being masculine doesn’t/can’t work. I’m just saying it isn’t required. I have no idea what “stoic” even means anymore. But I’ve never been that. Always emotional, expressive, etc. So is masculinity attractive to some people? Sure! Just not universal. And men don’t have to aim for it to be successful

Only thing I’d argue about is masculine. I’m bi, have never been “masculine” a day in my life. Still have never struggled with hook ups or relationships. I’m feminine as fuck. I just only hook up with gay men or bi women. I don’t need to ooga booga my way through life.

Age has nothing to do with it. If you can’t find literally anyone to date or hook up with, that’s a 💯 you problem. I’m 41, and have literally never known anyone like this. Doesn’t matter height or wealth or social status. That’s cope.

I had a religious upbringing, and then was SA’d in the military. So I repressed a lot of my Bi life for years. Too long. When I came out though I was wholly accepted and felt so much better. The repression was what was bothering me. Not the expression.

There has to be something really wrong with you if you’re actively seeking sex or companionship for multiple years or decades. I feel like the men who say this are early 20s and literally haven’t even had enough years lived to know what “true loneliness” is like

The point I generally see being made isn’t that “more women are single and happy,” it’s that the percentage of women who are single and happy is much higher than the percentage of men who are single and happy. Women, on the whole, are more content to be single and happy than men. Doesn’t mean there’s more of them. That said: I’m also confused by how there can be such a difference in percentages of women and men single, considering how cis couples are still the majority, even in gen z. And I don’…

They absolutely do. Because they need to. They’re playing a game. And “pussy” is the prize. I don’t think a lot of men here realize what love bombing is. Because they haven’t had the chance to. Players are the worst culprits.

I had a girlfriend who could only cum through anal. And then another who could only by using a vibrator. Women’s anatomy is different, and conversing is the best thing for any healthy couple. Taking your ego out of it is hard. I struggled with it in my 20s. “Why isn’t PIV sex enough??!!” But eventually, if you’re mature, you realize you care about her/him and want to do what it takes
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 12:27 AM
1

Absolutely. But what I often see is men not doing an equal division of labor, and then being pissed they’re not getting sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 12:19 AM
1

The reason it wanes is usually due to lack of communication. Does she feel there’s an unequal division of physical or emotional labor? Does she feel like you let yourself “go” physically? This is why relationship counseling helps.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 12:18 AM

My partner sends me a bitmoji when she gets hers, and blames me for not reminding her it was coming. But it’s all playful, and I go to the store if needed. She isn’t needy. But the cramps hurt her harder than other women I’ve dated, so I’m a bit more sensitive to her period than others. The fact we can talk about her period openly is one of the reasons she said she stays with me 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 12:10 AM

I “know you” from you posting here, so won’t offer bad advice or platitudes. You got burned recently. And it’s just gonna take time. Which is a shitty answer. But brother, it’s the right one. It’s just time. I know it doesn’t help. But you need to get over this last one and be prepared for the next. You owe it to her to be ready.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/24 12:06 AM

I don’t know if it qualifies, but I had multiple moles removed by a dermatologist. Large ones. I had one on my neck that bothered me so much a shirt was uncomfortable. I also get Botox twice a month, but that’s for migraines. But I accept the help in wrinkles

I used Tinder in 2014 and it was great for hookups when that’s what I was looking for. Literally no one judged me (at least to my face) for it. I also used Grindr too. I also don’t have pics of me with fish or guns or lions, so that probably helps. You obviously are too young to remember the time period. I’m 41, so I was 31 at the time, and it was already common for people to meet on apps and it not be judged. I’m guessing you’re lower 20s and have no point of reference in that term of life. Whi…

All the reading and studies and data isn’t going to help one man get laid. Not one. There is literally no man who will be undesirable to women, read a bunch of studies, and somehow get a cheat code from said studies and then become desirable. The data and sources people post here are academic, and interesting, but actually useless for anything other than trying to make a claim. If you want to find a partner, you’re not gonna find the answers in data and statistics.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 10:08 AM

“Just be yourself” worked for me. So I understand it doesn’t work for everyone. But I don’t think it’s universally bad advice. I’ve always just been me, and never put on an act or taken dating advice, other than “just be yourself.” Again: I see it doesn’t work for some. But it did for me. And I can’t be an anomaly.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 06:34 AM

Yeah. I had to pick a flair, and I don’t buy into red pill stuff, so I chose blue pill. I have always just been myself, and never had a problem hooking up while single, or maintaining Ltr when that’s what I want. And it’s usually with feminist bi women or gay men, since I’m bi, so I have no experience of women getting the ick from me opening up, or by being bi. I don’t doubt those women exist. Or that some women only go after some “Chad” drug dealer types. It’s just not my experience. So I can’t…

I’d say never lower your standards, but also speak with a therapist. On here, though, therapy is a crock and a scam and ooga booga. But honestly, if you’re not meeting anyone who wants to date you, it’s not hypergamy, and it’s not Chad. It’s you. But it is so much easier to blame outside forces than to look internally. And what’s more: blame the professionals who help you look internally. That’s such utter lies.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 04:43 AM

100%. I’d much rather keep my standards and be alone than in a relationship with a man or woman who was below them, just to “not be alone.” Would I be totally fulfilled? Probably not. But I’d be 80% happy single and keeping my standards, rather than 60% happy but I get occasional/regular sex and anxiety from someone I don’t totally respect.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/24 12:54 AM

I’ve never been “masculine” and never had issues with hookups or relationships with women. I’ve made it clear I won’t cause violence for any reason. I’ve made it clear I’ll never be some ooga booga man. And still, after 41 years, have never had issues with women. Strange 🤔

Literally never had a problem getting female partners for sex or relationships, and I’ve been out as bi since I was 20. I’ve met some women who wouldn’t date me because I’m bi, so I know they exist. But they’re not in my friend circles, and I wouldn’t want them to date me either if that’s how they view bi people.

I am in my 40s. I’ve literally never struggled with relationships or hooking up. And my friends haven’t either. I don’t get this mentality that it’s hard. I accept that could be a “me” issue. But I have a big social circle and don’t know anyone who struggles.

Partner and I are probably going to break up, and it’s sad because it’s not anything. It’s just…nothing. I’ve been in abusive relationships, and I’ve been cheated on, but the ones where nothing is wrong sucks the most. We talk. Communication is always key. And we have communicated on this a bunch, and explained things, but we probably are meant to be friends and not romantic. Not looking for advice. Just kinda a vent in a thread that will get tossed away. We’re good together. But probably not “t…

I’ve met women with healthy father figures who have done things like OF or sell used underwear or send feet pics. It’s a game to some people, and their dads don’t factor in
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 06:52 PM

I’ve always felt an equal division of emotional and physical labor is a sign of respect. They respect the home we share, they respect the bills we pay, etc. Let’s not forget that even though (traditionally) the man proposes, it’s the woman’s parents who pay for the wedding. This isn’t always the case. But just speaking of tradition.

I’ve seen overweight single mom’s approach men, and they (the men) reject them. Men should have standards. But they can’t complain about not getting thin “Stacy” types, while rejecting the rest. You ironically choose to be an incel more times than not
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 06:36 PM

I don’t think people come for advice. They come for validation. The people in like relationship advice who argue I’m always sus about. I think they’re lying and just stirring shit. The ones who agree are the ones probably most real. They just wanted others to back up what they’re already feeling.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 06:33 PM

I guess I can’t understand that mindset. Like, if you don’t want sex with me, cool. If you do with someone else, cool.

I know death of 3rd spaces is a thing. I felt that as I got older. But showing genuine interest in someone with the same interests as me has led to a multi year (and hopefully forever) relationship. And we bonded over that. He’s turning 20 this year and we still text over Legos and games. His mom wasn’t the best. But I’ll never regret the years I spent with him and having an influence on him.
