Oh I'm sorry, did I not see some implied sarcasm in your statement which the majority of the population genuinely believes? My bad.

It has to do with intent. Feel free to lash out and attack anyone who momentarily impedes your movement in day to day life if you like, I don't foresee it ending well.

Anytime the word "gentleman" is thrown around, always retort with a "lady". So: "Still. A real gentleman would have waited for me." "Yeah? Well a real lady would never be so obnoxious and rude. So I guess we're even." Anytime a woman tries to shame you under the guise of not being a "gentleman", make a similar comparison of her to a lady.

It is impossible to control for all measurable factors. If someone says that to me I see a big red flag in my head. People are genuinely asking "what's the model being used to evaluate the data?" and the response is "the perfect model". No.

Well, either I'm trolling, or I'm saying it's inappropriate to say hand slapping is equivalent to beating someone. Do you really not understand that if someone says part of what you said is wrong, it doesn't mean they're saying everything you said is wrong? I mean you can't be for real, it's just impossible.

Oh I'm sorry, I must have missed when I said that. And here I thought I was saying your hyperbole diminishes a serious problem by equating it to something less severe. My bad.
/r/MensRights23/10/12 10:07 PM

Yes, recognizing that it isn't an example of beating is apologist spin. It's not that you're using hyperbole, it's that I'm saying it's ok, despite saying "it's not ok". Whatever troll.
/r/MensRights23/10/12 07:33 AM

But there are differences between lightly striking and beating. It demeans all the people who have suffered beatings by calling a slap on the hand beating. Do you get it? It doesn't mean striking someone is ok, it means don't trivialize "beatings" by equivilating it to this shit.
/r/MensRights23/10/12 01:51 AM

Yeah I don't think you understand the typical SRS mind. They see you as wrong or misguided, which entitles them to do anything in their power to hurt you, whether it be lie about you or not. See all the submissions in their forum, 90% of it is taken out of context and they know it but they don't care. If you've done something to piss them off, and they can't hurt you by telling the truth, they won't even think twice about lying and harassing you for years.

What's also fucked up is that false rape accusations help rapists when they claim innocence. Not only is she vilifying an innocent man, she is decreasing the chances of justice for real rape victims. What a class act.

I watch it every six months or so to brush up and harden my resolve against their tactics. It's so easy to want to be helpful, especially when you're innocent. You can wind up getting yourself into a lot of undeserved trouble by not consistently practicing the tactics advised in the video.

A happy ending isn't guaranteed, but it's definitely possible. Figure out where he is, and send him a letter. Don't try to shift blame, just let him know you're not a perfect man, there are some bad things he probably thinks about you, some of them are probably true, many of them may not be. Let him know while of course you wish he didn't resent you, you know he probably does and you respect his feelings. In a brash, short statement, yes, I think the majority does say that no women are conniving. In pretty much all media, news reports, etc. women are considered innocent unless their guilt is painfully undeniable, then the reason for their guilt is blamed elsewhere (IE they aren't conniving).
/r/MensRights05/10/12 07:47 PM
6

I would say way way less than half of women are that conniving (same for men). The problem is that the majority of society tries to assert that no women are conniving, when in reality a sizable minority is out there that people should be aware of and watch out for. On the same token, the majority of society tries to attribute the worst characteristics of the horrible minority of men to the entire male sex.

I generally try to stick with man/woman for adults (18+). I don't think it's sexist to call a woman a girl, I think it's rude to imply an adult is a child. Same for man/boy.

Cops are not lawyers. Destruction of property (even your own) in that circumstance is considered domestic violence in most states. Talk to a lawyer or check your state's criminal code, then call a supervisor at the police dept. If that fails, start following the chain up until someone helps you.

My comment with the most karma in the past week was telling a guy who was proud that he had just run a mile straight that he should now try running a mile gay. +361. From the article "I ... did ... not ... kill ... him ... on ... purpose". Yeah well that tends to happen when you stab someone in a fit of rage in the chest twice. Woman on man violence is a central problem in men's rights right now, stop saying this isn't a men's rights issue. Of course it is.

I don't think you understand how much traumatic events can impact and even permanently change people. For instance, over a decade ago I got severe food poisoning from chicken strips with honey mustard sauce. I used to love them. Now, years and years later, I still associate the smell and taste with illness, and can't stand the sight or smell of them. Compare the relative insignificant food poisoning with your 6 year old son being decapitated. I think his ordeal probably had a stronger impact, so…

You may come to that conclusion, or you may be driven to believe that god took your soon in his infinite wisdom to make you become a crusader against crime to fulfill His plan. And that means your son's brutal death makes sense and wasn't a pointless loss. The whole idea is he is probably pretty far gone, I mean look at what he's done with his life since. Clearly it had a significant impact. So I wouldn't expect him to logically realize his severe bias.

The more angry you get and the more caught up in the unfairness of the situation the more you lose. Try to go at this from a point of view of mitigating how traumatic this whole thing is for you and your daughter, instead of going at it from a point of view of how unfair it is. No matter how upset you are about how unfair it is, it won't change a thing. Try to go about it in manner of seeking the best results, not lamenting how unfair it is.

Women rarely ask men out. If a woman is interested in a man, typically she will make her interest clear and hope the man asks her out. I'm not saying it's good or bad, or that I mind buying someone a meal, I'm just saying "Whoever asked the other person out, pays." rule clearly benefits women by the current norms of dating.

I support feminism in the truest sense of the word, which to me means standing up for equal rights and making sure women have the same rights as men. People who call themselves feminists generally are not about this, and they are strictly for the advancement of their sex, even if it means treating the male sex unequally. There will never be true equality between the sexes, because "equality" is a measure of all things on an average. There will always be some item that one sex, on average, has an…

Would that also translate to your (hypothetical) sister being more of a victim? Or your mother? If I died I would think my children would be far greater victims than my wife, and I certainly wouldn't think one child suffered more or less depending on their sex.

I would never take the stance that a father suffers more than the mother at the loss of a child. But if I were to make the argument, I would say a man would feel the loss and grief just as intensely, yet have much less support amongst his peers and society. A minimal outward expression of his grief is typically expected, and supporting the rest of his family in their grief, as opposed to his own. When people try to paint men as suffering less, such an argument enters my thoughts so internally I …

Actually gun death statistics are greatly increased due to suicide. It's fairly safe to assume if a gun wasn't available the suicide would likely still happen (at least a lot of it). As far as the US being worse than other countries, it is worse than some, but it is much better than many, including nations that have banned guns. See this Harvard Law Journal report. And while straight murder rates are higher in the US than the UK (they always have been), the UK now has more violent crime per capi…

I don't quite understand how you don't see this as willful endangerment. The child was removed for 8 months, obviously they had a leg to stand on for removal if they went that far. It's not that they didn't have a case for removal, it's that the judge arbitrarily decided that monster was best for the child. I totally agree. In my mind this is worse than moderately beating a child (which is bad enough), because the health rammifications sound worse. If someone beat a child into a 2 week hospital stay, why would they ever be allowed to be around the child again, let alone have custody?

He's already been hospitalized for weeks over his condition. A typical 7 year old boy weighs about 55 lbs. This kid weighed 4.5 times as much. He lost some weight away from his mother, and now that he's back he's gained 13% of what his typical body weight should be in the three weeks he's been back with her. Congratulations on getting out of a relationship with a horrible violent person. It may have gone smoother (and you certainly learned some caveats for next time), but in the end you're out of an awful situation. Never talk to her again and enjoy having that monster out of your now improved life.

One thing I don't understand is how some people are horrified by what you just suggested, but then the exact same people are cool with thousands of children starving in other countries for the exact same reason.

I came here to read what I assumed was true in the thread title. The article clearly states it was her husband who said she was the narcissistic egomaniac. From the article: While Cook has called Brinkley a "narcissistic egomaniac," Brinkley seems to feel much the same way about him: "I have never taken part in name calling. The only thing I've ever said ... at the end of that (second) trial I said as a public service, 'Google "divorcing a narcissist."' That's all she said, he's been trashing he…

Vouge is much closer to vogue than to vouch. And what does Madonna do? She vogues yes she does.

It's nice that you don't want to disrupt his life with his new family and everything, but the fact that he has other expenses and obligations isn't really your problem. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that fairness is the central theme to this subreddit, and it is not fair for you to be shouldering more of the burden of child care than the other parent. In my opinion, everything else is irrelevant. If he has other obligations or a life problem or something, sure, you can overlook him coming …

The 2 party system is inherently flawed. No real change will come until a better system is adopted.

Go to your college's library's website and look for a link to search journals. You should be able to follow this link, and search a ton of peer reviewed journal papers for your topics. The results will be the journal papers in PDF form.

Wired and Reddit are owned by the same parent company. Given it appears the parent company doesn't like the attention this subreddit draws, what do you think will happen?

Men's rights to me means a legitimate opportunity for child custody, an abolishment of alimony, and defeating misandric efforts in media, culture, education, and laws. It doesn't mean defaulting to the mans side in any issue between a man and woman. It isn't a battle of the sexes, it's an issue of equality and fairness.

Really, you sound like you're totally on the up and up and a wonderful person and really interested in fairness and everything. The only thing I don't like is that you're the only person who has given any input on the situation, so frankly you might be hearing what you want to hear because people are responding to what you have said. Who knows how complete the picture is or how biased your point of view may actually be. Given your whole description is really accurate, and if you decide to break …

Volts do not pass through one's body, volts are a measure of the electric potential between one point and another. Electric current (measured in amps) passes through one's body when they are shocked.

I'm all about equality, and I am far from being a feminist, but I think women and children first (or at least a "don't forget about the women and children!") is a good line to follow. Men as a whole can overpower women and children, so in a life threatening potentially panicked situation, it's good for the strongest members of the a group to watch out for the weaker. It's not a matter of "a woman's life is worth more than a man's", it's a matter of those with a significant advantage in the situa…
