Yes, and it’s pretty well documented at this point. Sift through the recent 400gb twitter data dump if you doubt it. I used to participate in these sorts of circlejerks until I tracked some of the comments down. The accounts used to make these comments invariably do not stand up to scrutiny.

Beware of accepting stuff like this at face value. There are people creating images and media like this just to piss you off. This sort of thing is propaganda. They make those ridiculous comments themselves, post them, and then act outraged. I'm not sure whether it's an organized group, but it is in accordance with the breitbart / alt-right / fascist narrative.

Would it have been an option to have a real wedding with all of your friends and family without the legal ramifications? Get married... just not legally. That way she wouldn't have to explain to friends and family that she isn't getting married. She could have her name legally changed if she wanted.
