I've now watched the movie twice and this take is completely out to lunch. I can explain why every single one of your points makes zero sense. As Eiichiro Oda would say, this is a matter of reading comprehension. A story about a bad person does not mean that a bad person needs to fit an archetype. In fact, that usually makes it more predictable. Examples include Walter White, Nurse Ratched, D-Fens. The fact that Bear is not a stereotypical rapist is irrelevant to whether he committed rape, or wh…

There is no way you don't realize how hard you're projecting right now, right? you are describing yourself to a tee. you keep posting responses that have nothing to do with the comment you're responding to. you play dumb all the time to try and save face. you don't pay attention to the points people make against you. it is embarrassing

There’s a difference between crying over your dog of 17 years dying and “ITS NOT FAIR I DONT GET THE PUSSY I WANT!” I agree with your title, but I think that in many situations, guys are not afforded room to be the first example either. And that is a shame.

efficient market hypothesis this is a hypothesis and there are real criticisms of this assumption about markets. you should also read about why a lot of investors do not agree with it, instead of accepting it at face value. The biggest thing that comes to my mind is that information is known to different people at different times.

I don't think that it's a more or less intense feeling than humiliation, it's more about the specific kind of humiliation. And reading your example, I don't think many people are up to try out humiliating things again either. I think that people use the word in two different ways: I think that society expects men to behave in very specific ways to avoid social outcast status and emasculation is when you feel like what you are doing is going to push outside of those specific and accepted ways of …

at least from a glance at the wikipedia page, it's a pretty narrow definition. The law is typically used in the US for cases where the person has impersonated someone else entirely (i.e. acting as their existing partner in the dark or while they're drunk or something), or if someone has disguised sex as a professional service like a physical exam. Though in the UK, it seems like trans status can also be considered under this law if not disclosed, which seems excessive to me

imo lying is worse. Deceiving others for personal gain is almost always going to be the wrong move, compared to an alternative that involves not doing that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 03:13 AM

I didn't claim that it removed the biological reality of my life. The term ego death does not mean a literal biological death
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 02:32 AM

No, and no. I don't think that it's a magical cure to any and all hedonist tendencies, but I think it has strengthened my resolve to avoid them for sure. I do not agree with the idea that people are fully responsible for the situations they find themselves in, if you mean in the sense that they could have controlled how they got to where they are. If you mean that everyone is responsible for their next move, I can agree with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 02:30 AM

one example: stripped from my conscious desire to just have fun, it becomes obvious that it's important to stay healthy for the sake of those around me and those that depend on me. Another example: it feels much more obvious that I do not understand the perspective of others and cannot assume theirs to be similar to my own. making presumptions about other people says more about my own experience than theirs.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 02:20 AM

are you trying to argue that reality is literally what we perceive? to me that seems FAR more radical than that quote
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 02:15 AM

I'm not sure I claimed that?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 02:11 AM

After many tiptoes, I have finally taken enough acid to temporarily experience ego death. It was pretty scary ngl, but I feel glad for having done it. It is a stark reminder that my world is heavily based on my perception of it, and that reality can be very different from the way I'm perceiving it. I feel invigorated to live a good life and take care of myself
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 01:46 AM

I would go downstairs, but I also understand why the buyer wouldn't. The person ordering is paying for a service, it's not his fault that the dasher brought a baby along. OTOH I understand that people need to make ends meet and if you're dashing with a baby on board, you probably considered a lot of other ways to handle your shit, and I admire the dasher for doing what needs to be done for the sake of that kid. To me, this is a NAH

My wife and I have pretty much been having daily sex for the last 12-13 years. We have had sex ~200 times this year, if I was estimating. Sex is special for us. It's a way we express love for each other, it's a way we show our commitment, a way we demonstrate our understanding and respect for each other. It would hurt a whole lot if one of us started holding it over the other's head. I think you're right, it's about the feelings it conveys. But that doesn't make it any less important or special …

I mean, what is traditional gender dynamics? They've changed constantly over time. I don't think that what you're imagining as "traditional" is even really all that traditional. When people think of 1950s housewife stuff, that wasn't traditional, it was an artifact of the postwar boom. I'm sure that did not look very traditional to someone from the 1800s, or the 1500s. But that's besides the point anyway. You're fully entitled to seek it, and I think that just about every feminist I know IRL sup…

You don't conclude that, given that the info is bad. Instagram won't help you determine if that behavior is normal or not, because it won't help you see if that's common or not overall. It only helps you see what is hitting your feed on instagram. Asking "how else would I conclude that" is presuming the conclusion is the right one.

"Did your relatives after Sunday service walk up and approach during the after service mingling hours?" do you think that people usually ask people they don't know on dates right after Mass? Because no, that's not a thing. At least in my family's church that would be incredibly disrespectful to the church. They *met* there, they did not go up to someone in church to ask them out without knowing them. IIRC my parents first met as classmates, in class. My folks went to a small university in Atlant…

As far as I can remember, if I asked a couple how they met, cold approach was never a common answer. My mom and dad met in university. My dad and stepmom met at work. My grandparents met in the military. My in-laws were childhood friends. My aunt and uncle were neighbors growing up. Many of my relatives met in church. Surveys of how spouses meet back this up. I just don't think it was as commonplace as you're thinking it was. Do you know a bunch of older folk who met by cold approach?

I don't want my wife to work because I want her to enjoy her life and I know she hates working lol She has worked for almost our entire relationship because of financial reasons, but we spent about a year on one income by choice and she was a housewife. For height shaming, I have literally only ever seen men do that to each other and I do call that shit out because it's fucked up. you've never heard a woman insult a man for being short? not even once? i don't believe that for a second.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 11:14 PM

I have done that too, and I'd say mostly it is not similar. You tell an escort what you're trying to do, which leads to a pretty different feeling. You also judge it against the money you spent, which leads to a higher bar for "that went well"
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 10:50 PM

I've used an escort before, while in a relationship with my wife (I had permission) Not really worth it imo

/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 09:53 PM

So your main point of evidence that feminism has hurt women is that with the freedoms, some women have done bad things? Yeah I'm not very convinced of that argument, sorry. How come you don't see voting rights as a downside for men, if they vote a psychopath murderer into office, like you describe? Is that poor choice a reason to curb men's rights to vote? That seems to be the way you treat feminism, and I just want to know why you aren't being consistent.

"Men want beauty, so women spend hours getting ready." That's not what makes someone beautiful. A beautiful woman does not need to get ready to look beautiful to us. You spend time getting ready because you want to look appealing and feel good about yourself on the date

/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 06:18 PM

even if that's true, no reason to bullshit and pretend it's actually better to have no experience
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 06:08 PM

you're over-romanticizing it tbh you learn to dance before you take your date out dancing, so that things aren't awkward while you try and learn together. What happens when they don't actually like sex, after trying it? What happens when you have opposite preferences in bed? Being experienced allows you to communicate these needs in advance
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 05:15 PM
0

then it's not something you think is true, it's something that is true. It wouldn't be controversial. The reality is that it's not so cut and dry, though. Virgins don't have the highest rate of marriage success. It's better than high n-count, but not better than low n-count.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 04:58 PM

you think there is proven correlation this is nonsense. By definition, a correlation is not proof of something being true. And by definition, a correlation has a specific value, it isn't a matter of your opinion. You may believe this to be true, but you don't know it to be true, and you shouldn't delude yourself otherwise

I don't think that's bad, either - I think OP just doesn't want to be shamed for that by other people. Like if you are not physically strong, but your preference was muscular types, I don't think that's hypocritical just because you're not putting in the work at the gym yourself. A strong person might reject you because they also want a gym rat, but it isn't something worth shaming as a society and it's fine to want that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 04:31 PM

But we do sign that contract. I had to sign that even before I was an American, just to get student loans. They would have fast tracked me to citizenship in that case. If Trump decides we need it, young men will be forced into war for no reason. Pretending there's no risk of that while trump actively attacks other countries is a pretty privileged take. It's easy to handwave away that risk when you aren't the one who will suffer from the outcome of that risk

Please re-read my comment, that isn't what I said. Nutrition info is available on foods where I live too, don't worry. I'm saying that is the case, and it's where the analogy starts to fail. There's no "nutrition"label on a guy that says "I'm going to drop you as soon as I get the chance", or on a gal that says "I am possessive to an unhealthy degree", etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 05:24 PM

I think the difference is that nobody is going to tell you upfront that they're loaded with sugar and trans fats. You'd probably find it a lot harder to eat healthily without any nutritional information on packaging. It would require trial and error on your part. There are parts you can fairly reasonably intuit, but you'll occasionally be surprised by that nutrition

I'm not really sure what you mean to imply with that statement. Insufficient for what, or whom? Is the quote meant to mean that it's insufficient for a man's needs? For a relationship to work out in the long term? I'm baffled you would think either of those things are a lie, so I'm guessing it's something else. I know that sex is certainly not sufficient to keep a relationship going for me. There's a reason I am married and not just having a FWB arrangement. I appreciate the care my wife has for…

the GOP is not liberal - they are not interested in allowing people to behave as they wish to, without consequence. Talk to them about trans people and you'll find that out real quickly. Or the talk about denaturalization of citizens. That's not liberal.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 08:34 PM

That's mostly what I was trying to get at with my last sentence. I know a lot more females who are comfortable as androgynous lesbians/queer without identifying as a trans man, than the inverse. There is much more stigma in the inverse.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 08:29 PM

Not what I meant. I mean like asking your mutual friend if she's into you or not. I mean light flirting and giving room to reciprocate without feeling pressure. Taking advantage of the fact that you don't need to convince them in 60 seconds. The truly bad advice is that if someone isn't falling for you after 60 seconds of game, then they don't really want you and won't be a good match for you
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 08:25 PM

Do you think that porn is the only issue that men act irrationally around?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 08:18 PM

How many men have killed their marriages by paying for OF subscriptions? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? How much money has been lost to that, even while free porn exists and is everywhere? Hot girls make guy brains break too.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 08:11 PM

Doesn't this start from the assumption that trans people chose to transition because they did not like how society treats their gender? That doesn't really describe the trans people I know very well. I don't think that trans women are under any illusions that society will treat them the same way they treat cis women. Isn't it just as plausible that male brains are just more biologically likely to have gender dysphoria? Or that males are more likely to have the money to afford to transition? Or t…

/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/26 07:37 PM

That's not a shit test IMO, unless you said that thing just to see their reaction to it and for no other reason There's no such thing as a test that isn't observed. If nobody looks at the outcome of the SAT including the student and nobody is aware why they're taking it, it's no longer the SAT, it is just a series of math and writing problems.

It seems to me like shit tests are behavior intended to see how someone else behaves, right? How could you possibly shit test unconsciously, in that case? Isn't it a prerequisite that you know what you're doing or what behavior you are trying to see?

Barely related: I saw a woman yesterday at a grocery store who was wearing a sweater that that said "DON'T BE A 🐓🍭" on it No comment to make about the dating viability of such a shirt, and I doubt she was wearing it to appeal to a potential date, but holy moly, bad sweaters are an epidemic out here

I definitely feel that pressure sometimes, as the main earner. I think it really can only work when income is really good and you can build up some savings, in case things go sideways. That relieves a lot of pressure and day-to-day worry.

I think that different sites attract different kinds of people. Reddit is a bit of an echo chamber, and so would most forums. Guys on the relationship section of a bodybuilding site won't be the same attitudes as one on reddit, or 4chan, etc. Same idea. That's my initial guess, anyway.

I tend to agree with you for a different reason than what you've said - "greatest" is not the same as "most skilled". I think of greatness as the ability to stand at the top of your game. I am from Canada, and I consider Christine Sinclair to be our greatest soccer player of all time, by far. None of her teams would beat the Canadian men's national team from the same year, but she is one of the most dominant players I've ever seen when it comes to the players she played against. No other Canadia…

the only way it "benefits" her is that she feels attracted to him because of it. it's circular reasoning. What tangible benefit is she getting out of it exactly? In what way would it improve her life if her bf was learning an instrument?

It's possible to travel to have sex legally. it literally isn't, that's what I'm telling you. The US has laws for this and will prosecute you for traveling to solicit sex from a prostitute. Many other countries do this as well. If you're saying you won't advocate for anything illegal, that means you're telling people to abandon their home for good
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/25 07:56 PM

It wasn't always healthy, and it did hurt our relationship at times. We had to put some better boundaries in place to prevent that. On the other hand, we've definitely strengthened our relationship through video games as well. I wrote elsewhere that in 3 years she put in about 4500 hrs into one video game. That wore on the relationship and that's why she stopped. We also just finished playing Lies of P together and that was a lot of fun, just passing controller back and forth and thinking throug…

But there are definitely people for whom it goes too far into their lives, and eats up enough time that you'd feel like a lower priority than video games. And that's a shitty feeling. That isn't something that can only happen with video games, but people who play them tend to do that more than people into other hobbies. A few days ago, a couple of friends came over …

So your advice is to just go be a permanent sex tourist? It's generally illegal in the US to travel with the purpose of hiring sex workers And no, I would not say that to an individual woman who decides to be a sex worker. Women are not convicted of those crimes as often as men, that's easy to demonstrate. But how do you show that they actually commit them at a lower rate?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/25 10:59 PM
1

I certainly did not miss that part. If a woman is more likely to avoid conviction for a violent crime, than we can expect that her priors will look less violent in the future. You're just doing circular reasoning and calling it an argument. Men have prison time because men have priors because men have prison time because men have priors. Bring some data to support this if you think it's true that the priors weren't sentenced disparately.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/25 10:55 PM

"np" is a reddit thing. It stands for "no participation" and means you can't comment on that post. Other sites don't use it, there is no reason to put np at the front of a non-reddit link.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/25 10:47 PM
10

Why rely on specific examples, when this has been studied at large scale? Studies have found over and over that for the same crimes and circumstances, women are less likely to go to jail, and when they do, they get shorter sentences
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/25 10:44 PM
-1

This usually happens because the man either has more priors or his priors are more violent (assault, armed robbery, DV charges, illegal gun possession, etc.). It’s common in sentencing that judges take into account your criminal history. If there was bias, wouldn't you expect this to be the case? It makes sense to me that women would be less likely to have priors, if we find that they are less likely to be convicted of a crime. I don't think this point does anything to explain the disparity
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/25 10:44 PM

There's also something to be said for not enabling that jealousy. When you do that kind of thing, it can just lead to more and more suspicion if the person is not mentally well. Instead of seeing you have nothing to hide, they just think you've done a better job hiding it than they could solve.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/25 06:21 PM

The woman you're describing matches nobody I know. My wife and I started dating at 18, and split our date costs 50/50 until we married and combined our finances. My sister has always done the same. The reality is that both people work, both people spend money on each other, and both people take care of the home. Nobody's shirked anything. My wife has also had an IUD the whole time we've been together. Either I'm a super low quality guy, or it didn't stop her from picking well and staying with me

they dont need to work on themselves as human beings, and they just need to work on being physically attractive. This results in many women putting most of their attention on their looks, instead of working on other parts of themselves like personality and self awareness. I'm late to reply, but I get what you mean. The difference is this: even when you're the one making all the decisions, you have to keep the other person's needs and wants in mind. But you have this imperfect translation layer there - you can be certain of what you want, but only reasonably confident that you know what they want. It takes more thought and consideration than making decisions for only yourself. At the end of the day, a submissive woman can still leave, if they don't think their nee…

In this post, you have done nothing to indicate why you think self-reliance is a good thing, or something to aspire to. In my opinion, humans are fundamentally a very social species. We're not flies that buzz around until it's time to mate. We thrive when reliant upon others. We are reliant on others whether we realize it or not. We have some of the longest time spent to reach maturity and self-sufficiency of any animal, because we learn to rely on our parents until we can form new relationships…

Why shouldn't women approach and initiate? Can you gvve any reason beyond "women are different"? The other three are all things you are feeling, which is valid. But this point sticks out to me because it's not like the other points, it's an action. It's what you're expected to do, not feel. A woman doesn't just randomly fall into a casual relationship through no actions of her own. They're a direct result of the way someone chooses to date. In some places, it's less common to have sex before being in a relationship or even before marriage.

Between this post and your last one, it is clear you have no idea about what men think about or how they talk to each other. I'm not sure where you are getting these ideas, but it's nowhere near reality for me or the men I know.

crime statistics also reflect the fact that women are less likely to be arrested or convicted for the same behaviors. the criminal justice system is biased against men and especially black men. but I also don't think that women are more conformist than men

Yeah, I think we would probably be having more sex. IDK about you, but I had it drilled into me to be terrified of STDs as a kid. It was used as a convenient excuse not to talk about sex as an enjoyable thing.

I read and understood what you wrote and still agree with him Average men don't do the things you're describing any more than 'celebrities' do. The average guy doesn't talk about his sexual exploits with friends. When they do, it rarely improves their standing with friends. IMO when guys share this, it typically isn't done to improve their social standing - it is typically done because of oversharing tendencies or just disrespect for women. Both of these exist in celebrities too. You've based th…

/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/25 07:32 AM

That was a sample of 86 college students at one university. That's too narrow to generalize the results. Also, they didn't provide information about which questions and responses they used to determine rape intent

I base my life on the morals I was taught as a child, morals that are not necessarily masculine or very different than what my sister was taught. I was raised to do things because they're right to do, not because they're masculine and I'm a man.

Doing something you both enjoy is not a transaction. A transaction fundamentally involves a trade or exchange. When you're both there for the same goal, it's just called doing something together.

Back in my day (fuck i feel old), each one had the equivalent of about 5 shots of vodka and 4 cups of coffee. The classic blunder was to let it hit you, have the caffeine mask some of the drunkenness, have more, then the caffeine wears off and you're left incredibly hammered

No, your take is the dumb one. Your statement assumes that anxiety is always rooted in reality. We know that is false, and it's false in this circumstance too. You can't reverse the direction of an anxiety to prove that the cause is valid. Anxiety about wealth and height is in fact based on forums like these reinforcing fears. I doubt most guys here who worry about it have ever been told by a partner that they are being rejected over height or income. They get rejected without a given reason, an…

If people are not a monolith, how come nobody likes to gnaw on rawhide bones as a snack? If filmmakers aren't a monolith, how come none of them liked movie 43? If fishermen aren't a monolith, how come none of them prefer trying to lure the fish in with songs?

Another thing is that men often expect their wives to work for free over years or even decades. They want the wife to raise the kids, do the cooking, cleaning, and housework. And while she’s doing this, they don’t care that these years are making her increasingly vulnerable in the case of divorce - due to having limited work history and no career progression. Then they want her to leave the marriage with nothing. She worked at home all those years and supported you with everything she did to kee…

If you can't find the person you are truly 100% compatible with, don't get married to someone else and hope it will be almost as good. Marriage should be taken very seriously that way. I am married - I'll be married for five years this fall. We were together for a long time before marrying. What I get out of marriage is knowing I will be with my wife forever. It allows you to tackle problems and reach your goals in fundamentally different ways. It makes you feel secure in your relationship. All the other stuff was being filled by having an LTR. I already had a best friend, great sex, love.

When all you’ve known your entire life is an emotional rollercoaster, emotional stability feels unfamiliar and scary. damn if this ain't the truth. even outside the context of abuse, it's easy to backslide into bad relationship habits when it's all you saw growing up. IMO this is a big reason that couples therapy can be useful: just having a third party saying "damn girl you live like this?" that has seen it all and knows how normal or abnormal your habits are.

poisoning the well I don't think this means what you think it means. My wife made the first move, and I wasn't "high status" or "extremely attractive" when she did so. I realize women need to vet and I get it, but it took me a while to realize why, so I can hopefully give that perspective. Guys who abuse women don't act that way toward their friends, usually. I've known men that were kind and cool around all of us, and we didn't even realize he was abusing his gf until much later. And there are guys who are "obvious" because they act abusively to everyone in their life. We don't become friends with those people for obvious reasons, we're friends with the non-d…

No it isn't. Not being able to access credit is a completely different, and much worse, issue than car insurance. Car insurance is only relevant because you are able to access credit. It's downstream of credit. It's the difference between having to pay more for the same thing, and not being able to live independently in our society. That's not comparable.

It's not simply an innocuous generic complaint, though, is it? You're using a generic sentence to express a stereotype you have of women. I'm using my wife as one example - there are many, many women who do not fit these stereotypes. This is the fundamental issue I have with red pill ideology - it reinforces the notion that men act one way and women act another way. In reality, the overlap is greater than the separation. It's not that difficult to find a partner who shares your values.

I think you're being called misogynistic because you are assigning negative traits to women as a whole when large swaths of women do not fit your stereotypes. My wife fits none of what you just wrote, and she isn't a magic unicorn. I would consider it similarly misandrist to call all men dangerous, or say that men must fight in wars, or that men are liars or abusers. Nah. Hate is learned and unlearned. It's not a basic, instinctive emotion like anger is.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 07:48 AM

i spent a long time in the bay area you can make it in the bay, but 80k isn't enough to make it in SF unless you like roommates a whole lot. I recommend Caltrain from somewhere cheaper in the peninsula. Don't even bother driving, even if the parking was free it's not worth the traffic headache
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 06:18 AM

I think it plays an enormous role. You cannot escape that we are an incredibly social species. For the vast majority of people, from the earliest memories, we want to make sure we are liked, noticed and supported by others.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 06:15 AM

You aren't putting a gun to your head, though. In this analogy, you would have the chance to inspect the gun and determine if it's loaded (dating and engagement). Marriage isn't Russian roulette unless you don't know your partner very well. Skill issue tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 12:44 AM

Men, according to your own quote
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 06:00 PM

Whose Car Crashes Are Deadlier? Men. The IIHS reports that crashes with male drivers are more “severe.” Another study, done by Scottish researchers in 2004, stated that male drivers caused 94% of accidents that caused death or bodily harm. From your link lol
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 05:29 PM

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/insurance/male-vs-female-driving-statistics.html Not even close
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 05:02 PM

Yes, it holds true when you normalize by miles driven.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 04:55 PM

By miles, women get into fewer crashes than men too. If men were just as risk-averse in their driving as women are, women would get into more crashes on average. Yeah no shit... That's why men get into more crashes than women. Men drive in riskier ways. If this were false, insurance wouldn't charge men more
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 04:54 PM

Men get into more crashes than women

NIH's NCBI site is broken and now I can't do my job properly. Making America great again one website at a time 🙃
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 04:18 PM

It's math. If you are attractive to 50% of people, and 50% of people will say yes if you approach them, and at the same time, more people are approaching the other person because they're also attractive to 50% of people, then it makes sense that attractive people would pair up at high frequencies. If only 10% of people find you attractive, then it's also just less likely that there will be mutual attraction between you and anyone, not just attractive people.

This doesn't really explain anything. How are they dating, proposing, and planning weddings inside of a few months? Are these arranged marriages or something? I could not imagine deciding on a wife that quickly, but then to arrange everything seems impossible on that timeline.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/25 05:07 PM

So they dated, proposed and set up a wedding all inside of a year? That seems logistically damn near impossible to me. Were they all getting married in the courthouse or something? What's the timeline for these people?

/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/25 11:35 PM

It is both. I will see individual flowers and decide which ones I think she will like best, and make a bouquet. Knowing the species is not enough to make sure it will be just right. Sometimes I go and pick them.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/25 11:28 PM

I gave my sister a year of moviepass back for Christmas one year, when it was like $10/mo for unlimited movies Sadly, they folded before she could even fully use it, but she said she loved it. It's a gift that can't otherwise be practically purchased, because I'm not gonna buy her 3-4 movies a week all year like this gave her access to
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/25 11:22 PM
7

Yes, like that. I think the difference is that steak tends to be a lot less personal - most people agree on what a good steak looks like, it is much easier to find a steak subscription that would always nail it. Flowers are really something you should look at before buying IMO
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/25 11:19 PM
13

No, I would not be upset at receiving a subscription for something I like, but I get why she's annoyed at the flower thing. If my wife got me a subscription to flowers I'd be a little annoyed. Flowers are a very personal gift, typically reflecting what you think they would like and that you thought of her in that moment, and a monthly subscription to it indicates that you did not select these flowers for her.

What a crock of shit. You don't get to accept these immigrants, profit off their labor for years, then refuse to give them equal status under the law because their daddy wasn't here 300 years ago. They're not the ones ignoring hard work of others, you are. Immigrants made this country what it is today just as much as the founding fathers. It's so deeply systemic, there's nothing that one woman is gonna be able to do to fix that fully. We've gotta raise boys better as a society if we're gonna fix that - give them the room to be vulnerable without backlash early so they learn to expect that, instead of the opposite. The abuser will cycle between giving ridiculous amounts of insincere affection and attention and gifts (like every single interaction for weeks) to going ice-cold as soon as the victim does anything the abuser doesn't like. This is done with the intention of changing the victim's behavior. "You fall out of line at all, you do…

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm saying that I see people using these terms with other people too, whether it's talking about family, or women talking about men they're currently in a relationship with (i.e. not rejected), or themselves in the case of terms like ADHD/autism self-diagnoses
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/25 06:17 PM

Tbh with you, very few men use the term "wall" or consider women to hit one at a certain age. This is RP ideology, not mainstream, and most people would disagree with the notion of one existing. As I get older, I find I remain attracted to people around my age.

More broadly, it seems like people have been incorrectly using therapy/psychology/sociology terms. Perhaps because of social media spreading these terms in a feedback loop, but I can't say for sure why. I've noticed this with lovebombing, gaslighting, narcissism, ADHD, autism, boundaries as terms. I'm not so sure it's deliberately being done to protect egos, but it does definitely seem to be a trend

FWIW I don't want a society that prioritizes men over women, I just want one that treats us all equally based on sex/gender. I think there are aspects of our society that favor men and others that favor women. Both sides of that can be fixed. I think that a society that prioritizes men would not put so many men in jail, give men legitimate paths to a career so that they do not get sucked into lives of petty crime, it would be more cautious about wars and drafting young men to fight in them, it w…

You can't name a single one of these feminists, can you? If not, how can you declare their ideology to be feminism in the first place? This entire premise is tenuous
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 03:47 PM

But you're willing to declare that without evidence. Why does a different standard apply for you accusing the judges of something, compared to me accusing Cosby of doing something he admitted to?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 03:40 PM

Lol do you think this is a movie or something? You're so fast and loose accusing the judges of being in cahoots with DAs, but you're so strict when it comes to accusing the man who has literally admitted to the actions he is accused of
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 03:36 PM

Yep there it is, you aren't good in bed (nice dick owner here so don't come at me with that)

/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 03:23 PM

You're ignoring the rather large elephant in the room: Cosby, Weinstein, trump and spacey are all rapists and the outcome of the court case doesn't change that. The DAs fucked their cases up, and justice was not served, but the evidence against Cosby and Weinstein especially is compelling.

I don't think they are worth any less than anyone else and shouldn't be treated as such, but I also strongly believe you should marry people who you are attracted to and who share your values

The only reason that my wife is doing it, and not me, is because her job makes about 15% of the salary of my job. We cannot survive on one income with a baby if that salary is hers. It has nothing to do with gender roles, which we generally do not like or stick to in our house. It's just practical. If she made a lot more than me, I would be a stay at home dad.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/25 04:46 AM

You completely lost me around the part where you start talking about how women are attracted to stereotypically masculine behavior. I have found the opposite to be true - women are not so attracted to masculinity that they will ignore looks, and women often do not feel safe at all around men doing stereotypically masculine things. I also don't think half the things you listed are even masculine necessarily. Athleticism and ambition are not masculine, just ask Biles or Ledecky or Merkel that.

Because men are told that we individually are guilty of the crimes of all men, that it is our fault there is a patriarchy, that we have to stop the changing room comments, that we have to stop the rapists, that we have to stop the violent men from attacking women. I mean, if someone told me that men did some bad thing, and that statement was true, that doesn't necessarily mean they're accusing me of thinking or acting in the same way as those men. You shouldn't be in the business of representing people if you won't talk to them. Find another line of work in that case. You wouldn't be a vegan and then go work in a slaughterhouse and refuse to work with any of the meats there. Talking to women is fundamentally part of a governor's job. It's worth mentioning Pence is not doing this for his own protection, he's doing it because he's a religious nutter and believes it to be sinful
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/25 04:54 PM

Pence does not meet with women in any capacity unless another man is present. Not just his colleagues, his constituents and personal relationships. How is a woman, or group of women, meant to talk to him about the issues they face? You're asking the wrong question. Why the fuck was that not a disqualifying event for Mike Pence? I'm saying that slavery did nothing to help our survival and instead resulted in countless preventable and early deaths because we decided some people were less than human

Hard disagree. Many of our cultural/historical/social learnings have been actively worse for our own survival (either individually, or as a society). There are countless examples of this: suicide cults, ritual castration in the middle ages, slavery, torture, our modern food consumption habits, cigarettes and alcohol, esports, porn, the TV show Jackass. Many of our cultural and social learnings still just come from what feels good or what makes a bit of sense to us, not necessarily with survival …
