I would not be bothered if it was a relationship that was from years ago either, but this relationship ended very recently. I mean I want him to get rid of the stuff BUT i don’t want to force him to do it. I wanted to see if he cared about me more than his ex not because any other motive. I just want to make sure he’s over her and not toying with me.

That’s true! I was a little drunk and overreacted for sure. The thing is that he was ready to walk away and keep that book from her ex instead of getting rid of it and keeping me in his present life. It feels like that’s strange and yes, I did see him stalking his ex on social media. It’s the only gf he’s even had so he might still be obsessed with her idk. It wasn’t in the back of the closet or anything…that thing had a spot. He also has a bunch of other stuff that she gave him like wallet, key…

I wasn’t toying, I’d 100% feel really good if he’s throw them out. I don’t want him to resent me for making him do something he doesn’t want to do. I compromised because I care about him and he’s been nothing but kind to me up until this point. I want to stand my ground and be more confident with them.

well I do keep some things from my ex but that was like three years ago that I broke up with him. He’s been broken up for about 1 year so it feels recent to still have stuff and not boxed away. I agree, it was none of his friends business, but he said he needed advice. idk what to do because i don’t want to control what he does and I wasn’t even gonna make him get rid of stuff. I just wanted to know that he would, I would have said get rid of it at your own time. I was super dramatic about it du…

Well I broke up with him first, but I was a little drunk so I was def not thinking through everything. I think I should have too.

This saying is so debunked and once again putting the responsibility of men’s behavior on the woman. No one should change for another person, they should only change for themselves. This is just an excuse that parents made for their kids failed relationships. We always say men are so terrible etc., but can we take a look at who raised them? So many moms out there raising mommy’s boys that can’t do anything for themselves. No, it’s him who can’t change and fix his behavior and it’s not gonna magi…

How do you know she’s a lower social class than you? Feels like a lot to tell someone before even meeting

It depends, is this your first time meeting her?

Can we start spreading and focusing on more positive things here and HVM? I feel like we are constantly just getting bitter by focusing on LVM and it’s just not fun.

Omg this guy I was dating was the SWEETEST and a HVM, but unfortunately, his penis was nonexistent and I never let it progress to anything more Bcs I knew it wasn’t gonna do anything for me. I always assumed that maybe there was something wrong with me, but it’s just my preference.

A man DEFINITELY came up with that analogy.

I don’t think it’s fair to generalize a whole group, there are certainly many who do that no matter the ethnic/race group (very similar values between Hispanic and the South, i.e. Texas, NC, Alabama etc..).

I wanted to wear a suit for a conference with his frat, like a sexy suit, and he refused to let me and was so mad about it. That’s another instance that I saw his true colors. So gross.

I got gay vibes from Pradhyuman too! I’m pretty sure he is gay, he just seemed to want to be with a man rather than a girl. There was never any chemistry and he didn’t try to be a gentlemen with any of the girls. He’s gay.

I’m pretty sure he had a thing for his cousin...

Yeah I feel like everything is an effort lately! Yeah I know right, you meet someone and then they disappoint you. Doesn’t help that my two previous serious relationships both cheated on me 😳 so now I tend to look for men who have strong character

That’s also how I feel, I have zero energy or want to date anyone, but I also want to meet someone special 😥 I’m really having a hard time online dating in general Bcs I hate it

I’m sorry that happened to you :( it’s not fun at all and extremely hurtful but like you said, the right person wouldn’t do that to you. This guy was a really good person and I think he was the sweetest guy id ever met but timing is a bitch

Unfortunately, this person was a really good guy and never did anything wrong except say he didn’t want to continue which is fine, he’s allowed to not want something. So that’s what sucks

Ah that is actually SOOO helpful. I didn’t think of it that way and that actually makes me feel a lot better, thanks so much!!! I’m constantly trying to heal myself but it’s really hard and long for sure. Yes, I’m type 4 and that’s a good idea! What do you do to heal yourself or ego?
/r/askFDS16/09/20 04:39 PM

I mean yeah I guess you’re right, I meant high standards as in the person is a hard worker, ambitious, etc.

Well I broke things off first because I assumed he didn’t like me since he made zero effort to ever see me and I was always making the plans etc., I assumed it was because he’s really shy and stuff. But I was also really stressed during that time, and I tend to push people away when I’m stressed so I broke it off but then after that time period I realized I was sabotaging and projecting and asked him if we could fix it and he said no. So idk it’s a weird dynamic. I also drunk texted him a couple…

Yeah I agree, I think it’s just isolation! Because I’m usually 100x busier but it’s been hard with COVID. That’s so true, so what should I do then? Like just still think about him all the time etc. Until isolation ends?

I’m in grad school and really focused on healing myself to be a better partner. I workout and cook for myself...I take good care of myself but just weirdly still hung up on this guy. It’s disgusting, I know 🤮

I get that, but I feel like the timing was so off ugh idk I’m so silly thinking about this person that if I died tomorrow wouldn’t even know/ bat an eye

Agreed, it’s just RARE for me to like someone Bcs I have really high standards but when they do make in in there it’s hard for me to let go!

I mean I honestly always thought he was out of my league. As in he is more successful and has more going on for himself. I’m still stuck in grad school for another year, so nothing exciting happening. Yeah he didn’t want to work it out Bcs he was moving which is reasonable just really weird that I’m stuck on him because I usually don’t like people that much and I think I wasn’t over this other person while I was seeing him so that just adds to confusion. I agree, there are so many people out the…

No, I stalk his Spotify ( I know pathetic)...but he never answered any drunk texts I sent him so I don’t think he cares even remotely about me so that’s embarrassing. I’m really busy, but I still think about him while I’m doing all these things.

Well idk Bcs I feel like I pushed him to that since I broke up with him, but only bcs he wasn’t acting like he cared about me at all, so I thought Wth. I regretted it and I tried to fix things but he said no.

Thanks for the advice! I haven’t spoken to him since November, so it’s not like I have a conversation with him and to be frank we barely knew each other but I guess that might be why it’s hard to move on from a what if. I’ve written letters, I’ve cried, I’ve worked it out, stay as busy as possible but it’s still in my mind and that’s just not ok and I don’t think it’s normal per se. I think he’s in my mind because he was someone I admired for sure, respected, and he wasn’t douchey, which I reall…

That’s what I have been doing, it’s just so hard to let go bcs i sort of pushed him to break things off. I know I learned a huge lesson, but in general if someone wanted to be with me they would and that’s that but it’s just VERY hard for me to find someone I feel things for and I had that with him
