It's not really true in the modern era. There are 4 approaches to balding - you can decide to do nothing about it, start taking medication to stop the process, get a hair transplant or buy a hair system made of natural hair. Some men, including these from trp, believe that it's "weak and desperate" to do any of the last 3 options but I disagree. It's hard to judge at this point as I've shaved it all off not that long ago. For the last 2 years I"ve had hair that was gradually receding - was that period less successful? I believe so.
