How did you do it for so long? I had too much pride once I found out. Plus I didn't want to catch an STD

When they start acting differently, huge red flag, mine did the same.

Isn't it ironic that you're usually the last person to find out? My stbxw was openly talking with her friends, who were encouraging her to "get it girl" giving her advice on how to fuck me over in court

My kids found dick pics on a computer she had synced to her phone and they decided to tell me (10 and 15yo) 🙄. She had been talking to dozens of men and soaking up all the attention she could get. I knew she wasn't going to change, so I filed. When I confronted her she said "I wanted you to find out so I didn't hide it" or something of that nature. Since then she's been with dozens, and I mean literally dozens of men. Dates, sex, getting pregnant, you name it. Horrible human being. A year (proba…

I'm going to have to disagree with this. This will be perceived as a sign of weakness considering she's already in the betrayal phase. She's already expressed with her actions that she's headed out the door so to speak. Why give her the honor of having her way?

Somebody once described it to me as the lipstick club. She's going to have a ton of friends, women and men giving her advice and it's not all going to be good for you. From what you said in your original post, it sounds like you're being frankly super weak. You even said it yourself that you need to man up so to speak, build a wall and get through the rough patch. It sucks. It's hard. Trust me, I know what you have to do it for yourself. If she wants to move on why are you going to hang on? When…

After it's finalized, you're going to have to check in and update financials but hopefully she won't take a stake in your business
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/24 01:57 AM

Do not make more money until your divorce is finalized. They take all of that into consideration in the financial aspect is very important. I have a side business that I put on hold until my divorce is finalized because I know it can be very lucrative. However, it's not worth sacrificing. Have patience it's a virtue chill out for a while. Collect your thoughts. It'll work out. You just need time

It's a Band-Aid and sometimes Band-Aids work. But it's not a long-term solution. It'll also fuck up your life if you caught charges for driving under the influence or being negligent when you're in charge of your kids so it just make sure you're careful.

Been there man, but I could never do that to my family, especially my kids. Most men I've talked to who have gone through a divorce have at least thought about it, if not contemplated it. Hell I've known guys who've offed themselves because of a girlfriend dumping them. You don't want that, it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. For me, I realized I wouldn't be in so much pain if it wasn't for my kids in the first place, but they are the ones who would ultimately suffer the most from …

Drinking only makes you more anxious and depressed in the long run, as well as being expensive, and potentially a chess piece for her because it makes you look unfit.

If you don't do it voluntarily then the court will order it and that will be very costly in lawyer fees. Like the others have suggested, do your best and do not lie. The financial aspect is very serious, much more serious than matters of infidelity. I think the only other matters that are more serious than finances are criminal, like domestic abuse charges or mental health issues that are documented. It's much better to be amicable and work outside the courts, if both of you can come to the tabl…

The 40 year mark is the bell that rings for many of us. Women start to become "a different person" blinded by hormones changing, insecurities, whatever it is when they start hitting 40 and getting menopausal. Don't mention it to her because she'll deny it and resent you. I've witnessed it myself and it's real. I wish it wasn't true because I feel the opposite. I want to settle down a bit more and focus on my career/business than I already am, but she just wants the attention and affection of eve…

Sorry OP but this is a classic example of why more men need to file first. There are many examples why, just reach out to your divorced friends and support groups. Hopefully you can get through it without her dragging you through hell. Someone has to do it, and it sounds like she's leading the way.

I have my moments. I then remember why I filed in the first place. I remember the conversations we had about getting married for the wrong reasons, wanting to find true love, being happy finally, her crazy and infidelity and how she ran away so quickly for some quick pleasure. I often wonder if she feels ashamed. She's expressed it at times and wanted to reconcile at one point but I turned her down immediately. Starting over in your 40s is not uncommon. You're going to have to get financially and legally fit. Sock everything away. Get a financial advisor once you're legally separated or divorced. You don't want any more of your money going to her I'm going through the same thing. It sucks you feel old way too old to be starting over but many people get through it

It's called the lipstick club. They tend to talk to their girlfriends and create an echo chamber of "girl you deserve it" mentality. It rarely works out for them. They usually burn their bridges of what they used to have that they took for granted. It's the real men that never let those whores back into their lives and move on and better themselves. My wife of 15 years fell on a bunch of dicks. She got pregnant and miscarried. She's dead to me but I have to coparent. It's very difficult to manag…

Overly clingy, living with her parents with her toddler as a single mother, had been introducing her kid to multiple men she had dated before we met, and her kid was a little shithead (who is an adult now and doing well for himself), pretty cold emotionally, and seemed very controlling. Found out after we got married she suffered extensive sexual abuse as a child so I just kept feeling sorry for her and looking past it all. God damnit I was naive thinking I could change her.

After I filed for divorce I worked very hard on putting any feelings for her aside. I succeeded in doing that, but seeing her rejoin the dating scene and turn into a huge slut got under my skin, because I wasn't in a place to date and the minimal effort I put into it didn't pan out. Almost a year later she's finding out that not many guys want her crazy, and the ones that do she's not into. Men and women usually process divorce in the way you've described. In all honesty, if my wife were to have a side chick I would be completely fine with that. However, the marriage situation sounds toxic. I've heard people say that one of their biggest regrets is staying together for the kids and that kids are resilient and will get over this. They will probably need some therapy but sacrificing the rest of your life is up to you.

Going through the same thing right now. My wife of 15 years and five children went absolutely insane and had no other option but to file for divorce. My experience is that it comes in waves. I'm the one who filed for divorce, but there were a lot of things that happened leading up to that. That probably inflicted some sort of trauma on me I feel like a manic depressive person and a shell of a man that I used to be. I'm blaming it on her because I don't know what else to do. Honestly. Yeah I'm going to second this. I know what it's like to be lonely and have that feeling where you're going to be lonely for the rest of your life. My ex-wife started screwing everything and when I finally found a companion she got sick and tired of all of the drama with my ex-wife and my kids etc. And it's been some of the loneliest days of my life. What I learned from my marriage is that if you spoil a woman give her everything that she wants, she's going to want more and she's going to look somewhere else to get it. Now it's your time to figure out what you want and that means you might have to work really really hard like being a single dad with a job and maybe no action. I.e girlfriends, hobbies, etc.

Good luck! I'm in the same boat. You're going to have to claw tooth and nail because it's an uphill battle for us men. Just be consistent in what you're doing. I'm sorry to hear about your parents. Narcissists are not fun to deal with. I married one.

Yeah I've been through that. From my experience, people will get in her head once they find out. She's getting divorced. That's when things went sour for me and her and she ended up getting kicked out of the house. Going to jail, tons of CPS reports etc. I tried to be as amicable as possible. But, it just didn't work out. Make sure you cover your bases. Document everything. Get a lawyer etc. It may seem like it's fine right now, but it can turn on you in an instant.

That's a great way to look at it and honestly it's hard to be positive lately. I made the mistake of a loose relationship during my separation but the drama was just too much for her and she decided to let me go. I don't really blame her my stbxw told my kids that she would shoot her and was really involved in some drama while my stbxw was around. Yes, do not get into a relationship until you heal. I'm going through a divorce currently separated. I have primary custody of the kids and being the single dad. I caught feelings for someone and she got sick and tired of my drama. I don't blame her for it but it just adds insults to injury and now I'm fucking super depressed. The best response to a darvo narcissist is no communication. It will literally drive them mad and it will solve your problem at the same time. Do not talk to this person unless absolutely necessary, and don't give any information, and do not under any circumstances react emotionally.

My stbxw and I tried cohabitating together for a few months before she completely lost her shit and got arrested for domestic violence. I had moved on emotionally and actually encouraged her to meet someone who would support her, someone she could move in with since she has no income of her own. So who's the other man? I heard this phrase recently. Men level up in life by getting better jobs, making more money, etc. Women tend to level up in regards to the men they have relationships with. It's a sad fact but many of us have realized this and moved on. Screw that whore, move on, and continue to level up. She'll only bring you down at this point. Good luck!

I've already filed and my mind is made up. The depression even creeps in with me, even though I'm the initiating party. I think it has more to do with how my kids are suffering because of her, because I'm absolutely over her. The attraction is gone, I have no emotions toward her but disgust and hate. She's now making unreasonable demands right before mediation, and lying through her teeth about me abusing her. I can't wait for the day we're legally divorced.

One of the first bits of advice I got from my friends who've divorced is DO NOT MOVE OUT OF YOUR HOUSE! I tried living with my stbxw for 6 months until she finally fucked up and hit me. I'm pretty close myself, I couldn't do that to my kids though, and if it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't be struggling. Keep talking it out, don't give up, sleeping can be therapy but pretty soon people are going to notice you wasting away. I've lost a ton of weight. I never thought it was possible to get so wrecked.

Haven't listened yet, but if he didn't learn his lesson the first time, I'm not sure I'd want him as my lawyer.

She'll say anything to make her look good. If she was the perfect wife she's pretending she was, she'd be working with you, not against you.

At this point she can't talk to us due to a restraining order. Kids are doing better but obviously they miss their mother, even though she threatened multiple times to kill us all. Physical stuff too. Maybe she doesn't need or want to talk to you.. it's possible that if she does, it will cause more harm than good. Put your own emotions aside and look at your situation. Distance can be a good thing. I'm learning to be self-sufficient with kids, it's not fun or easy but it's better than living wit…

She moved out, wants a divorce, they don't have kids, this should be a no brainer to OP. Unfortunately he's thinking like a simp, how do I get her back, should I file, etc. He's got it very easy compared to many of us here with kids and crazy women that won't leave the home.

Not impossible, but improbable. A woman that's acting like your wife isn't a wife. Why would you want to try to force her to feel something she doesn't? Pick up the pieces of your life and move on. Better luck next time.

Yeah mine screamed the word multiple times over the course of a month. When I filed she was actually surprised. She's probably just being a spoiled bitch, but at least she's living at her parents and not squatting in your home. My advice to you is to fall out of love with her quickly. My guess is that she's going to want to reconcile once she realizes she's alone, but that's just a guess. When I make my decisions I make them final. My wife offered me a chance to work it out after I filed and I l…

She's still there, she tried calling me the next morning. Didn't answer, told the jail she needs to leave me alone

They did side with her the previous 3 times I had to call on her. I guess they had just had enough and this time there was evidence to slap her with a DV charge.

It wasn't the worst she's given me but given the fact she's been threatening our (my kids and I) lives, and I had marks from her, thank god they took her in.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
