Listen, whether it works or not doesn’t matter. If you have some desire to save your marriage you need to try therapy. It may not work, but at least you’ll know. I couldn’t stand the thought of wondering still a year down the road what would have happened if you tried. For me, this is the time I have to leave it all out on the field, for me. I can’t leave myself with any doubts or what ifs.

While I don’t necessarily agree with all the other points brought up here, I will say the more I’ve cried to my wife the more she seems to push away. I’m met with cold indifference whenever “we” are the subject of conversation. I’m fairly certain much of her attitude is a calculated attempt to not show sign of emotion, for fear I will think there is a chance of reconciliation. I hope you guys can keep a good relationship for the sake of the child. I hope you can heal. I find solace in looking to the future at the kind of man I will be one day. I hated who I was, so I feel better knowing I won’t be him anymore.

I’m only 3 weeks in, but I’ve found that the more I try to talk about us, the less comfortable she is around me. There can be no relationship (romantic or otherwise) without feeling comfortable with each other. I want nothing in the world more than my wife back. I’d give anything to have a chance to show her I am a better man and give her the love and affection I withheld for so long. But she doesn’t want it. So I’m left to decide, do I spiral into my own sorrow, or do I salvage something. Can I…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
