Every time I see someone talk about the "nice guys" archetype it kinda makes me cringe. People like to simply things into less complex structures so they can more easily understand the problem they are trying to solve. With the "nice guy" thing specifically, what happens is that you lose the purpose of trying to understand attraction and desirsbility out of sight in favor of mentally being able to "put things into boxes". Women aren't lying when they say they want a guy that's generally nice. I …

My issue with hypothetical like these is that they severely limit the decision making to absolute rules that are stippel away of the nuance that daily life brings. For instance.. Assuming the cheating isn't premeditated, is the guy struggling with having to restrain his desires in a life where he's never had to do that? Is he overcome by weakness or deliberately disregarding his partnership in favor of physical desires? Real life is never an organized array of absolutes. The properties a person …

Because attracting women doesn't provide happiness. Trying to find happiness in partnership is a fools errand. Only partnerships where both parties have learned to create their own happiness to share with another are viable and worth having.

So, I am a bit conflicted on this. I've followed the drizzle drizzle thing and on one hand I am completely in agreement with it, until I put my own views onto it and then suddenly it stops. I agree with the 50/50 but not across the board, but more so in effort. I make good money. I've worked hard for that. I also want a family and children and everything. I am not looking for a woman that makes the same as I do so that we can both work and both look after the kids. I'd rather have my woman spend…

I'm of the school of thought where feeling like you need to say it is your brain giving you a clue that it's a good time to show it instead. I barely say it, but I try to align myself with her goals, invest my time in helping her grow, and try to understand her needs without her having to speak them out loud. If she doesn't feel loved then saying the words won't make it happen either.

Oh I'm not denying it's true, and I am very for directly telling men this so they can face themselves and understand that they owe themselves to strive past mediocrity. So it's hardly hurting if I can absolutely agree on it. It's the part where the way you expressed it clearly shows some underdeveloped personality traits. You're in a position of privilege here. Truth be told I do think there would be less whining if women would just be honest instead of trying to spare a man's ego. "I'm sorry but you're boring as fuck, go be more interesting" is a lot more helpful than "don't worry! You'll find the one!"

Afraid it has always been that way. That's what is called the "red pill rage". Young, often misguided men find TRP, which explains a lot to them. Sadly, this newfound knowledge is then used as fuel for their unwavering ego to say "see? I'm not the problem!" You're a woman. You could not give a flying fuck about boys complaining about never getting laid. You have no trouble finding interesting, mysterious, hot, or even passionate men to get laid with. If these sad men want to spend their lives co…

You're describing exactly what blue pill men are like when they have recently discovered redpill. Redpill is about full accountability. It's about recognizing "what is" and finding your way through it. Men that discover how it really is through redpill are often still bluepill and use these facts to externalize their problems, happily skipping over the parts where it tell you to find accountability in yourself.

I wouldn't say "value" is the right choice of words here. Men can commit to every woman that has sex with them. Women can have sex with any man that approaches them. Naturally both sides value hat they have less access to more.

Or... Men are less selective. Far too often do I see men end up with women who aren't good to them, don't respect them, use or abuse them, and end up in never ending cycles of chasing horrible women. Scarcity is not an excuse for your underdeveloped ideals and vetting skills. Hold. Them. Accountable.

Interesting. So then I have 2 questions for you. How do you suppose young men work on their own value during their younger years if they are distracted by trying to seek partnership in a time where they are deemed less attractive? Wouldnt this diminish their chances to be of higher value later? While women are more attractive in their younger years, would you say they have plenty of opportunities to find suitable partnership? I wouldn't say it's stoicism. I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing excitement. Do you know what a sine-wave is? You could represent our highs and lows throughout life as a sine wave. Giving in to the highs of excitement and the lows of hardships are 2 sides of the same coin. It makes for a very volatile life and that comes at the cost of mental and emotional stability, which in turn wrecks havoc on finding peace and balance. I guess perhaps it has some elements of stoicism, as yo…

OK so, let me give you my take on this after a heavy life of rather big ups and downs. What I've noticed is that happiness is misunderstood. People confuse happiness with excitement often, and this confusion is found in people that are "chasing" it. People find it in materialism, seeking approval, control, a lot of things. I am happy. Ofcourse I still enjoy materialism a bit (who wouldn't be excited for a new car? Or some gadgets) but I don't see it as the source of my happiness. My happiness ac…

A 35 year old woman is not post wall for a 40 year old man. Ehhh agree to disagree. Even men in their 40s have less trouble finding partners in their late 20s/early 30s than 35 year old women. There are great disparities to be found amongst the preferable ages of people across age ranges. I'm not saying this is a bad thing. Younger men tend to be as lonely as older women. Would you disagree that, considering the perspective of the opposite sex, women are in their prime in their early 20s, and me…

No I was actually referencing to the plethora of women that have pursued a career and are wondering at age 35 why they can't settle. I haven't seen many trad-cons complain, most videos I see of them is about "the home life" and hoe they take car of their household. They don't look unhappy tbf.

I don't know what that sentiment is based on. What I can say though is that single older women complain the most on social media (i.e. "where did all the good men go"). Men are treated harsher in today's society. We are told to suck it up and confronted with our own failures more often. I think that being confronted with your own failures is a good thing regardless of gender, but where for women it's acceptable to give and seek comfort in hardships, this same act is stigmatized for men. You become more socially skilled to start enjoying social encounters. I can appreciate this. You don't owe anyone anything and if you're not just looking for sex then being upfront about your expectations is the best way. Maybe a little tangent here, but one could argue that "yeah but women have options so if they choose the hottest guys then no one else gets laid" and yeah I guess that might be perceived as a problem by blue pill men. Oh no it's all good, I just don't think the oversimplificstion honors the values. Trsditionsl values, to me, means a household where the man carries out the role of the provider, and the woman acts as head of the household. Both roles are equally valued but equality is given up on. Mom is free to pick up a drill from the garage but it is expected that dad knows how it works and can teach. Emotional development is a subject that the mother has authority in, while ambitious development rests on th…

Holy shit... Yeah that can definitely be a very creative way to interpret that. Feminism gave women what they desired, and that's all that it has ever been about. There are no global movements that could be considered "self-centered" the way that feminism can. Feminism was never about self reflection. It's pure focus was to acquire more for women. More rights, more freedom, more comfort. Now before you out in your suit of armor and try to hang me for saying that, I'm not questioning the merit of…

I think the aim would be to normalize it. We would have way less problems in society if we did. Rape for instance would be seen as the desperate, weak, and dishonorable act that it is more. Men being angry about women would more naturally find pushbaxk from developed men. Women complaining about "where are all the good men" would be confronted with traditional values and happy couples. Agreed. The men that complain are the men that are intimidated by the "hard to get"-routine, but you ladies do have to admit that 1. You're not making the boundaries between "no is no" and "oh my god stop it you're so bad!" any clearer, and 2. The only resource that teaches men how to deal with this are red pill resources. So either accept men becoming more red pill or accept that the social skills of men will decline over time.

It's mostly an effect of the comfort bubble women find themselves in. Average women to their friends: I want a tall, slim, successful man that can provide for me. Yes. The current state of personal development all across the board is tragic. The fear of being alone trumps the desire to improve on oneself. Comfort over conflict. And this is exactly the reason why TRP is still a controversial subject. That's the cycle. Men are afraid to be alone. They become compliant. They lose the interest of their women and get left behind. They become bitter. They seek comfort but realize they are chasing temporary relief. They find TRP. They learn to accept that their …

The potential risks of directness aren't gendered. The risk comes from stepping on the toes of a possibly mentally unstable person, and this person, regardless of gender, can have an ego that's fragile enough to respond with violence, vindictive social actions, or otherwise harmful retaliation. It's perception however is gendered. Men are taught to "deal with it" and women are sheltered to the point where loss of comfort suddenly no longer becomes an opportunity for growth but an inflated reason…

/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/24 07:50 PM

You're not aware? Stoic men are perceived as more desirable than expressive men. They are viewed as people that are thought-through, are more mysterious (women think "what is he thinking" more often), and seem more balanced jn general.

I think that traditional values is just a buzzword these days. What is meant with "traditional values" is actually a set of values that can differ from person to person. Two men claiming to uphold traditional values can still disagree on specific issues like whether a woman should be both having a job as take care of the children and the household. Here we go again... Dead bedrooms are more often than not the result of the different ways men and women perceive desire and experience attraction. The desire of men in a sexual sense falls mostly on physical attraction ("I find her hot so I'd like to have sex with her") , whereas women are more attracted through psychological attributes ("he sweeps me off my feet and makes me feel special"). Due to this, predictiveness hardly affects men, but severely affects women in maintaining desire. This i…

That depends entirely on how you define a relationship I guess. And the 80/20 rule is also just one factor that influences it. Anither factor for instance is the theory behind a person's "prime". For women this is around the age of 22/23, where the woman has matured fully, has the least chance of complications in childbearing, still has all her beauty, has had less romantic partners, and so on. She isn't respecting his rejection and even though men can play that hard to get role as well, this is obviously not that. She's ignoring rejection and clear signals to disengage, but she feels like she is entitled to that behavior. Her ch…

Since when is that relevant? If you have trouble finding women to sleep with you either have A. Really shite genes to the point where you're horrible to look at B. Not worked on yourself enough to raise your SMV That has nothing to do with this so called "bargaining chip" you say we seem to have lost.

Mate, that's universal. 99% of people don't give a fuck about IT. But I've been working on my storytelling a bit, and my favorite stories to tell are IT related. Anything can be made interesting. That's the point I'm trying to make. No one gives a fuck about your work, the story about your work is interesting because it provides entertainment if it's entertaining. You wouldn't want to hear some fisher dude go on for hours about quotas, but you'd be hanging on his lips if he told you about that 8…

My son.... just grow some balls and admit to your mistake and realize your cognitive error. Stop being so apologetic about being wrong. No one falls for your backtracking nonsense. There is no reputation to uphold here.

That's my point. This is a guy with the false understanding that he only has 3 choices. It's a self-imposed limitation he should free himself from. Playing along with him just keeps him further from his goals. There is no "formulated plan between the 3 friends". The only decision to make is to cut free from these societal archetypes and find out who he is so he can love himself outside of the context he is providing. What you're saying is to play along with his blackjack rules even though we're …

You're not understanding what I'm saying. The person in question should detach from isolating labels like that and find out who they are, learn to love themselves, and should stop trying to fit into some box in the hopes of getting laid. Pick up a hobby that you're passionate about. Be unapologetically yourself. Don't let anyone walk over you. Stop letting women intimidate you and have fun in every social interaction you have. Rid yourself of fears and doubts. Live, goddamnit. My man, skip whate…

Honestly this thread here is a must read for men. Women have options. If they are deprived of those options they will just abstain. Women enjoy sex. If you're not the kind of person women want to sleep with, then that means that they can all agree to some extent on your undesirability. That should be enough of a cue to a man to take some time to reflect on theirselves.

being himselves hasn't worked out so far There you have it I guess? If your only redeeming quality is that you're "nice", then you have some work to do on yourself. That's it. Case closed. Edit: oh, and another thing, you throw these words around like "nice guy" and I'm sorry but it makes me not want to take you serious. All of the archetypes that you're presenting have their issues, and understanding the premise of those issues is what allows you to reflect on yourself to better who you are. Yo…

You are literally only capable of strawmanning other people just so you can feel a hint of moral superiority. It's pathetic to see someone invalidate themselves like that.

Field reports are just others users projecting what they think they have learned onto their personal experiences. The fact that redpill contains some bitter men is undisputed, but that doesn't invalidate the teachings. It's like saying a karate teacher is wrong about his techniques because his students decide to beat people up.

It can be explained. It's an entry point for RP. I think it's natural that you will find underdevelopment in places centered on development.

I understand your thought process but you're missing something. The latter only upholds the former in a superficial sense, especially when a man is not in touch with their honor, morality, and self reflection. If you value yourself, you should value your principles too, and I doubt anyone would consider selfishness as a virtue. Even in the "badboy with a heart of gold" picture you paint, lies a Robin Hood archetype.

Yeah, I agree with you. I can't justify it either, but I cant justify it on both ends. I dislike those "strategies" as much as I dislike the "get that bag, girl"-mentality.

Funny how red pill actually teaches us that what you truly mean is that something is calculated and, to your eyes, unromantic. But then where is your compassion for all the men that are strung along, with the misconception that "all it takes" is to "be nice"? Studies have shown us that women are attracted to dark personality traits. Women desire morally gray men. Think about it. Red pill is nothing but a manifestation brought forth by the understanding of women. And now, after understanding wome…

I can respect that. I've had my phase but have never been less than honest with women. Now that I'm in a LTR I find that TRP has taught me a lot on how to reflect better and understand my role to lead better. I've also noticed that TRP comments were always filled with angry incels. Sadly, those type of men were drawn to TRP the most, but if hatred rules your heart the every word of wisdom becomes a weapon of accusation.

I normally don't engage in debate with uninformed people (bees don't waste time explaining to flies that honey tastes better than shit), but with such a provocative view I am very curious to how you connect TRP to less integrity?

Huh? Am I misunderstanding you or at you making moot points? computerization took away men's bargaining chips Meanwhile, IT is one of the highest paying fields out there, and primarily occupied by male professionals. What bargaining chip did we lose there?

Yeah, I wouldn't defend it's use in a relationship setting, but for casual encounters pick-up artists have evolved on the basis of what works and what doesn't. To call it manipulative to "neg" a woman would imply that the opposite of stringing a man along for a motional support without providing honesty on any possible romance would be manipulative as well. In reality these are just behaviors that have been evolved from acquiring one's needs both ways. Furthermore, if it works, since when is it …

Since when did red pill become about using women? You clearly need to reread some of the theory and stop projecting your hateful bias onto it. Redpill is about valuing yourself above all others, something that everyone should do. This does not mean use and abuse others for your own benefits, it means to find your own values and honor and adapt your behavior to reflect it more. Don't betray yourself over some physical needs. Don't undervalue yourself through social dogma's. Honestly successful or…

Well... Yeah... The primary red pill thought behind this is thy women are gatekeepers of sex, and men are the gatekeepers of commitment. Women having governance over relationship entry points is not arbitrary. It basically works like market control. Take housing for instance. If you've been deprived of housing long enough, options that would previously seem unfit become more attractive, because the need grows as time goes on. It works the same way in relationships. Men feeling lonely will drop m…
