In most cases you are not allowed to do so until the divorce is final. Check with your lawyer.

I kept all my picture frames. Those things are expensive and I have good taste. 3 years later I haven't used them all but I've put a lot of new, happy moments into a lot of them.

Depends. We signed one. We were splitting and agreed on all the finance and basic custody stuff. I insisted we write it down before I moved out. Good thing. Because spouse immediately claimed they never agreed to any of it. Of course they did. Oh wait, except it is all in writing and they were a lawyer so they couldn't pretend they didn't understand what they were signing. We almost got to trial. I believe having that document helped avoid trial and got them to finally sign off on everythi…

Talk to your lawyer. I filed the day before I closed on my new house. Bought house with my half of marital assets. We had already split all accounts and drafted a handwritted post-nup. Marital accounts were closed, funds transfered to new individual accounts. Obviously depends on your state and situation.

She's doing it as a way to stay in contact with you. You were clearly her back up plan since Mr Wonderful turned out to be not so much. Cut it off.

Good for you. Also, you are 49? My guess is that while you might want a 32 year old girlfriend you probably will not benefit from a 32 year old girlfriend. Correct?

You are going through a divorce and already considering moving your 32 year old girlfriend's parents into your home? My dude. Live by yourself for a while a figure out who YOU are and who YOU want to be.

Oh goodness. Ok. Well, I've had two glasses of wine. I'll go for it. If the first thing you think of when your husband stops wanting to have sex with you is that he is a closeted homosexual then I would strongly suggest taking a look in the mirror. A hard look. An honest look. Spouses do not lightly or easily turn away from physical affection. It is a symptom of a larger problem. That problem is rarely homosexuality. Good grief. Get off of the internet and talk to your husband. Honestly and wi…

This simply isn't true in most states.

Name the child. This was also outlined in my divorce decree. Most states do not allow an ex-spouse to claim life insurance even IF they are named beneficiary unless they were designated as beneficiary after the divorce was final.

Associate lawyer, not partner. The associate will just consult with the partner for anything they aren't sure of. You'll pay half that rate and get more attention. If it isn't complicated go that route.

Sounds like you both go your separate ways. Split any accounts 50/50. She takes her student loan debt (incurred before marriage) and no alimony since under 10 years (depending on your state law). Good luck.

Just rip off the bandaid and file. Why are you hesitating and playing games? File, find out what the laws are in your state about her selling if you are not on the mortgage or deed. She may or may not be able to do it without you. Depends on the state. File, get emergency financial motions in place (as you can) and get on with it. Frankly, if you stay in the home and she leaves then yeah, you should probably pay for where you live. If you cannot afford to sustain that you gotta figure it out. If…

It will be negotiated into the divorce decree. Usually one of you buys the other one (with their portion of marital assets) out or it is sold and profits are split. If one of you keeps the house that person needs to be able to refinance in just their name to remove the other from the mortgage.

Give up figuring out her endgame. That's a losing battle. She might not even know what it is. Figure out what YOUR endgame is. What do you want out of this. Your absolutes. Let those dictate your actions.

Unfortunately very true. Also, consider if your goal is to go to trial or work out a settlement with her. I didn't pursue discovery even though his financial statement was quite the work of fiction. My goal was to reach a settlement with him outside of trial. IF it had gone to trial I would have had to go through the expense of discovery. Without a trial it is pointless in my opinion. I did bring up the inaccuracies during mediation. Those worked for my benefit as I used them as negotiating poin…
