Sales guy I used to know used to always say "it's after they've said 'no' for the 14th time that it starts to get interesting!"

Correct to disengage and walk away. When people act like this it is part of their own foreplay - they are just using you to excite themselves.

I think she was saying those things because sex with you was on her mind (as well as the weird girl self-guilt trip about sex), and y'know when you're drunk everything just comes out. Anyway at the point where she told the whole room not to let you come to her place I think I would have stayed FAR FAR AWAY just because if she gets weird about it there's a whole room of witnesses saying "she was uncomfortable about Careful-Log-454."

1) find out where your charm is, not everybody is wacky, or cocky, or sarcastic and witty, but everyone does have a charm base you just have to find yours and bring it out. 2) you have to be doing something besides furthering your career, you have to be actively living your life, always have something going on whether that is a jam session or a trip to Thailand next month, be doing something. If I ask you what's you've got going on and the real answer is reading/watching/gaming then you're doing…

The secret is reading the girl and taking a chance. You need the bold statement to resonate with her. That the difference between bold and cringe - whether the girl likes it. So it's a very fine line and very dependent on the girl, the context, her receptiveness at the moment, and your ability to deliver with charm and confidence.

You aren't exciting. Figure out how to be funnier, more engaged, more challenging to them, more dangerous (not in the badboy sense necessarily, like the skydiving sense), more actively living (be in a band, do open mic comedy, always be doing something that isn't career driven).

Despite living in a society that attempts to tell us that masculinity is fluid, and that what it means to be a man is constantly in flux, it is our imperative as men to defy this. Society constantly tells men that there is essentially not a true way to be a man, and that, in essence, being a man is just about whatever you want it to mean. This results in young men depressingly not having the courage, or the skills to be able to approach women. Based.

This is good advice. Have a life and live it. The piece that is missing from this post and the comments is "Why did she lose interest - am I interesting?" Guys have to have interesting lives to keep women interested. Are you going somewhere this weekend? Have an activity planned? Do you play in a band? Do you read slam poetry at open mics? You have to actually be interesting to keep a woman's interest!

While it's true that men have to push and pursue (in all aspects of life, not just dating), this post can also be read as "no, don't stop entertaining and validating me!" Men need to realize of a woman isn't reciprocating MOVE ON.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
