Man, it all depends on the job you get and where you get sent. This has the biggest impact on your time in. I was 21 when I joined so I had a little life experience working in the oilfield. If they still offer student loan forgiveness that would make it worth it in itself. I will say this, I have zero regrets about my time in. What job do you think you’d want? I was born and raised rural. The past 12 years I’ve lived/worked in 9 major US cities around the country. I’m now back living rural. The peace and quiet along with the friendliness of rural areas can’t be beat. Food, housing, and gas is significantly cheaper, and if I absolutely had to, I could survive off the land. Find your caloric maintenance point then adjust consumption to stay in a deficit, and if you have access to an indoor pool I highly recommend that for cardio since you have spinal problems. Study finance and learn how money moves. Saving is only part of the equation. You’re ultimate goal should be to establish passive income so when the time comes you’ll get paid while doing very little for it.
