Men, there is hope!Go slow with the “women of my dreams” my friend. It is easy to trick yourself into thinking that after a long marriage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/05/24 10:12 PM
Can you be happt in a silent divorceThank you for saying this. It is sickening to think of the impact on the kid from this. It helps to keep the big picture in mind. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/05/24 04:25 PM
Guys, how do you stay motivated? You need to stay busier until time can heal it. Go volunteer at local soup kitchen 3 or 4 evenings your son is not with you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/24 09:48 PM
Do I want to know?I feel this. I have some concerns too. We are separating though. I have chosen deliberate ignorance. If I put the work into confirming it the only reward is anger and it would make it harder to be good co-parents. Lose-lose. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/24 09:27 PM
Can you be happt in a silent divorceWe are in the thick of it. I am moving out pretty soon. I feel deep sadness but also relief. Emotions change with each day. We are still doing it as friends so that helps. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/24 03:36 PM
Can you be happt in a silent divorceEach situation is different but mine is similar. We have very different interests and very few things in common. We do share a young child. We agreed to a dead marriage for the child. It only lasted for about a year. We both agreed that life is too short to foreclose on an important part of life (intimacy/companionship). I hate this for the child but I think this was the right call for us. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/24 02:46 PM
Dying alone... We shouldn't be scared of that.Agreed. Dying alone sounds nice and peaceful. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/12/23 08:08 PM
I'm not strong enough for thisYou are probably not yet ready to hear this but time does heal. I have been there and looking like I might be there again. You are only 30. You have so much in front of you. Dig into your career, your coming child, and enjoyable hobbies. Don’t date yet. Trust me. 6 months from now you will realize you feel a lot better. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/12/23 03:49 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband. Thanks for this insight and encouragement. I will ponder it all. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/23 04:54 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband. Thanks for the resource. Yeah, we have done the “let’s rekindle” a dozen times. At this point my theory on that is that it works for a few months but then things go back to stale. It’s just a temporary fix. Kind of a band aid. Has your experience been better? | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/23 03:48 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband. It’s a good question. As you know, all our relationships are complicated and we bring our layers of baggage. If I am behind honest I don’t think either of us care enough to invest that time at this point. We are both busy professionals and just focus on things other than each other. Your advice is good though, especially at the beginning of the disconnect | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/23 10:19 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband.I hear you. I can plan for anything but how long will it actually last? For all I know she is already meeting with a lawyer and/or has a boyfriend. Haha. Oh, well. Life is short. For now I will keep enjoying the kid and see what tomorrow brings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/23 07:49 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband.Funny you ask that. I was just googling the easiest age for a kid to go through it. It looks like 13 or 14 might be the least worst for the kid. How about you? | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/23 07:35 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband. The irony is that I think my wife and I are both good people with similar desires. No abuse, drugs, etc. We just can’t figure “us” out. It doesn’t really make sense to me. It’s all kind of sad. Can’t go wrong with wholly investing in the kid though. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/23 07:27 PM
Love being a dad. Not sure I love being a husband.I feel this. My marriage seems to have died but I don’t want to only be a dad 50% of the time. I have quietly quit my marriage and do lots of one on one things with the kid. I think my wife has done the same. I think we are both waiting until the kid gets a bit older then one of us will ask for a divorce. I was sad and cared before about the marriage, but now it is fine. I know I am missing out on companionship but that sacrifice is worth not missing out on 50% of my time with my kid (for now). | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/23 07:13 PM
Am I overthinking the consequences of getting married?Skip it. Overrated | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/11/23 01:57 AM
My 2nd divorce is comingI hear you. While I am sure you are right about her also be realistic about your shortcomings that lead to the divorce. It helps with the healing and recovery. My two cents. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/23 05:49 PM
My 2nd divorce is comingI am rooting for you. After my first one I did find that time does heal. I am also accepting the fact that I suck at marriage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/23 05:45 PM
My 2nd divorce is comingKids involved? I feel like my end is coming as well. Harder with a kid. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/23 05:42 PM
Will I regret deciding to never get married?Let’s be honest. Marriage is great at first then it sucks. Just do you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/23 01:49 AM
I guess it's about to be over.Fresh start! See the bright side. Focus on you and the kids now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/23 11:20 PM

Did you all feel like a loser after all of this? You got your priories straight. I commend you. Give it some time. Time brings change. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/06/23 03:01 PM
Having a really hard timeIt’s get easier my friend. After my divorce I lost a ton of weight and got very sick. Just wanted to stay in bed. Then, slowly, i recovered. Ok now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/11/22 09:43 PM
