It's fine. Someone should just try to contact the dude. We are our own media.

I felt the same scepticism reading the article in an unreliable newspaper. The numbers also look otherworldly, but 190 (trips)/7 (years) is what is to be expected if he went every other weekend. The 500k also looks high, but with 190 trips, he's counting airfare, hotels, car rentals, not to mention his lawyer's fees. It's not as impossible as it sounds.

Hi, Matt, although I'm not sure it's you. I am one of the Hyde Park 6: http://www.sagreiss.org/london.htm I understand that there has been friction between some of my friends & some of yours. I have no dog in that race. I'm interested in whatever we in Europe can do together.

This is just insane. She said he fucked her despite her explicit lack of consent. The jury says she's lying. He says he didn't fuck her. The jury says he's lying. They acquit him of all of the felony charges, except using a computer to engage in consensual sex acts with an age-of-consent minor? This is a typical example of the following reasoning: "We don't know what the fuck happened, so let's just give him a slap on the wrists," except that it's ugly for him.

I'm afraid I can hardly be considered a moderate. I've got half of the French government trying to throw me in jail for my political activities, four more criminal trials & two civil to go. So far I've only got suspended sentences (26 months total). There's a lot of silly shit here. Men's body image? Seriously, men & women, if you're fucking fat, go on a diet instead of blaming skinny models on TV. Better yet, throw out your fucking TV.

I don't agree with most of the positions here either. Must I fuck off too? In a broad sense, there's nothing wrong with feminism, women defending what they perceive as their rights & interests. Men can do that too. There are obviously conflicts, most notably child custody. There are also excesses, the campus rape debate. Most of what I read here seems as off-kilter as what I read in the feminist press. I can see both sides of this post. tiqr's point is defensible. On the other hand, I don't thin…

Given that you are college students in America, false accusations of rape, but that might not go over too well. Given that many of you (something like 1 in 5) will not be allowed to raise your children, child custody, but few of you have confronted that yet.

Just a bit of contextual info. Outside of the UK we tend to use the term Fathers4justice as a generic. In fact there are several splinter groups. The original Fathers4justice seems to be very controversial, for reasons I don't quite understand. The people I know personally call themselves New Fathers4justice. I've done some crazy shit with them: http://www.sagreiss.org/westminster.htm

I apologize. It is confusing. We demonstrate in public because it would be useless & silly to do so in private, as here we're just preaching to the choir. Do I seriously think we can effect change? Probably not, but demonstrating is about all I can do. One of our recent events landed us in the French Slate, where we were roundly trashed: http://www.slate.fr/story/104433/peres-perches-residence-alternee We got trashed, including me & a friend by name. So what?

Two people have replied using the word "objective". I'm not sure what's supposed to be objective in a political fight for our rights. We can define them however we wish. If you think this kind of thing is serious (an actual post here): http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/new-details-emerge-three-way-louisiana-teachers-freed-bond-student-article-1.1962278 Fine. A sixteen-year-old boy fucks two of his teachers, brags about it, and I'm supposed to be outraged about his "rape"? Be serious. The …

We publicly protest the violation of fathers' rights at least once a month in France & England. It is a political struggle. It's not an advertisement campaign.

Domestic violence, what do I care? "nearly everyone" I beg to disagree, but maybe you're right. Lobbying? Fact finding? How the media portrays us? Frankly, who gives a fuck? I am not a reality television star. I'm just a father who wants to see his daughter. I've been to jail for that. I don't give a shit about our image.

Cool. I like to laugh too. Have any of you other keyboard warriors created an actual, physical, international incident for fathers' rights as I did in England? http://www.sagreiss.org/london.htm

My 70-year-old mother climbed atop a 100-foot crane to protest against the violation of our rights. And she did it with a smile on her face: http://www.sagreiss.org/unbound/2013_03_09a.htm

Well, if you only want to talk to people who agree with you, then you are no better than the feminists. I am here to challenge the status quo. If that's not allowed, then one of the moderators will kick me off. Yes, I think that most of the stuff posted here is a load of shit. Have I the right to say so? I don't know.

Fine. I think this document is a disgrace. It's just as much bullshit as the worst feminist rants. I want no part of that. Thanks.

Well, what exactly doesn't? How are women favored by the government, aside from custody (a big problem), false rape accusations (a big problem), and child support (not a problem)?

The only judicial problem that men have is seeing their children. Everything else works mostly our way. Who gives a fuck about child support? It's just money. I pay mine under no legal obligation. I do so in order to be able to write abusive e-mail every day to a list of four score French policemen, lawyers, prosecutors, judges, prefects, congressmen, senators & ministers, while still maintaining the moral upper hand. I face trial for my crimes, of course, but I will end up winning these cases, …

Most of the shit people complain about here, male rape (not an inconvenience), male domestic abuse (of which I've been a victim). I also hate arguments about child support payments (not statistically insignificant). If the feminist arguments are bullshit, and they largely are, then what purpose does it serve to simply reverse them & say: "We are victims of the same shit," which is probably not even true? We can't find better arguments than theirs?

Thanks. I've been banned from a few places, notably Facebook & a bar or two in my village. The thing is that I'm the son & brother of feminists. You can judge for yourself if my mother has not fought for my daughter: http://www.sagreiss.org/unbound.htm

I think they're a little right. This sub looks mostly like a mirror of feminist groups, endlessly carping about silly shit: "Why aren't the media talking about this [statistically insignificant inconvenience]?" I'm sure I'm in the minority opinion, so I'll just fuck off.

There's a cool search you can do on this page: http://www.innocenceproject.org/cases-false-imprisonment/front-page#c10=published&b_start=0&c4=Exonerated+by+DNA The Innocence Project has freed 337 prisoners, 302 of whom had been convicted of sex crimes.

The linked French government document says that 18% of separated fathers never see their children & 22% see them less than once a month, or a total of 2 in 5. I've extrapolated by assuming that half of couples are separated, which is where I get the 1 in 5 number. It's not science. http://www.insee.fr/fr/themes/document.asp?ref_id=ip1195#encadre1 As for the rape figure, I've just used the widely quoted figure for women, assuming that no one who reads this subreddit believes the bullshit 1 in 5 n…

And what if feminism was simply women defending their perceived rights & interests, while men's rights (or whatever one wishes to call it) were simply men defending their perceived rights & interests? That would take a lot of the hatred out of the equation. A lot of the posts I read here seem to be mirror images of feminist posts. I really don't think domestic violence & male rape are statistically big issues for men. Suicide? Maybe, but that's not really women's fault. The big issue is access t…

I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm new to reddit, so I don't understand much. It looks like two people took the trouble to upvote my post, so they must have found something meaningful in it. Even if you were right, shameless self-promotion doesn't seem like a heinous crime to me.

I'd like to see my daughter online, offline, by telephone, postcard, any way possible. It's been almost five years.

I'd ignore it. I am American, but I live in France, so I don't know how this works in the US. I've never been through mediation here, but I suspect it's bullshit. Lawyers are bullshit. If you can write the motions yourself, you save a lot of money. My daughter will be 9 in a week. I will see her online whenever she wishes.

I didn't read the details because it's too damned long. Forget the stupid shit, such as her harassing you by text or e-mail. So what? Keep copies. I no longer go through lawyers. I have read enough of their documents, and have a decent education, to be able to write them myself. I understand that not everyone is comfortable doing this, or even able to do so, but if you can you save yourself thousands of dollars. http://www.sagreiss.org

It's not a question of truth, in whatever sense you mean that. It's a question of competing interests. I am falsely accused, as are most of us. My wife saw that it was in her best interest to do so, so she did. If I had been in her shoes, maybe I would have done the same thing. I know Erin. We even appeared in the same film together: http://www.sagreiss.org/effacer_papa.htm (I'm not sure if my version has the English subtitles. I was responsible for the French. If not, you can easily find it und…

I think the question is misframed. Feminism is the defense of the rights & interests of women. Whatever our groups may be called (We use the term SOSpapa or Fathers4justice in Europe.), we defend the rights & interests of men, in particular fathers. There's no need of the hatred that I agree you do see here. It's a simple conflict of interests.

Everyone has a breaking point. Some of us are able to carry on longer with enough support and if we don't need the services of lawyers. I too will file no more motions. My daughter will be nine in a week. I will see her the days she picks up Skype, the phone, or writes e-mail. It's up to her now. However, the remark of Whelponry is a good one. It doesn't have to be every day, and I wouldn't recommend using a blog platform, as they are vulnerable to attack by your ex. My daughter can learn everyt…

No way to know, as the other gentlemen have said, but I would add a couple of other factors: Some men who are innocent are nevertheless convicted, logically more so than other crimes, which tend to turn on physical evidence. Some men who are guilty are nevertheless acquitted, logically more so than other crimes, which tend to turn on physical evidence. Some women (again impossible to count) are raped but do not file a complaint. There are more incentives (regret, shame, revenge, custody & ease) …

I've had a lot more than 6 drinks, but let's just assume that I'm a man, capable of assuming his actions even in a lamentable state of drunkenness. (Seriously, six drinks? Have you ever been outdoors? Are you talking about before or after noon?) Let me just suggest two sexual scenarios, based on real life with the mother of my daughter. Often, as we smoked a cigarette after breakfast, because yes some people are not American, so they smoke, she would just undo my fly & blow me without saying a w…

You seem like a reasonable lady. As the son & brother of feminists, I have no problem with women continuing to fight for their rights & interests however they conceive of them. When they are in conflict with my own perceived rights & interests, I fight back, but without hatred or ill-will. Good luck with changing how people have sex. Personally I haven't worn a condom often nor in very many years. I have no interest in a "discussion of consent". If the lady doesn't consent, then she needs to mak…

Of course she's my mother. Did you not notice that her name is April Reiss & my name is Scott Reiss? Did you think that was a coincidence?

Of course it does. I lost the right to see my daughter, so I helped my mother earn that right, which my daughter's mother blatantly violated. When a father loses his rights, so do the paternal grandparents. It's exactly the same problem. My whole family is deprived of its rights because of an initial fathers' rights violation. Fathers' rights are a subset of men's rights, and the violation of grandparents' rights is an outcome of the violation of fathers' rights. Sorry if you don't see it that w…

My mother is a feminist. She also climbed a crane to protest the violation of her custody rights, earned in court after the more-or-less definitive violation of mine. Feminism is the defense of women's rights & interests. There's nothing wrong with their defending their rights & interests. Where those conflict with mine, as in the custody issue, I will fight them, but without hatred or ill-will. When you negotiate with your boss, are you thinking about his interest in keeping your salary down? I…

Bobby Smith is a friend, and I have many friends in common with the late Haydn Burton, although I never had the pleasure to meet him. I am an American living in France, and was one of the Hyde Park 6 on Apsley Arch in August 2014. We usually communicate on Facebook. I've just discovered Reddit, as my Facebook account was disactivated. You can find info & contact on my website: http://www.sagreiss.org/bobby.htm

I can see from your spelling that you are in the UK. I am an American living in France. I was one of the Hyde Park 6 on top of Apsley Arch. As you probably know, the movement has been very active for the past two years in both of our countries. We communicate on Facebook, but I'm just discovering Reddit because my Facebook account has been temporarily disabled for some unknown sin I've no doubt committed.
