Because they are little kids and most people (especially the parents) are going to find them really cute and adorable at that age. There's also a sense of "innocence" nakedness presents, increasing the cute coefficient, and short of being bonafide pedophiles people should not be associating naked children and sex. I find that parents take pictures (probably too many) of all facets of a baby/toddler/little kid's life, and bathtime is no exception (but diapertime probably is).

We have a smattering of boy's primary education only schools in the U.S., and those students generally perform better than if they were in a coed system. The problem is that we don't know if there is a market for them because daring to make one is a legal and social nightmare. Extra lawyers and PR firms are not good for an entrepreneur's startup costs.

Close, but not quite. The 99% figure is cited for taxi drivers, the 80% figure is cited for general drivers. Still it's a misleading statistic and is useless without knowing the frequency of general male drivers, and bullshit without a source. Personally, I used to believe that women drivers were safer because of car insurance rates for women being cheaper than men. But it's because men drive more miles, not that they drive like 16 year-old hooligans with their first Mustang. Per mile, they are …

The greatest factor in preventing a child's sexual abuse is the inclusion of his father into the family. (Someone talks about this down the thread.) I would also ask that we do not down vote the OP, even if we disagree with their sources. They seem to be debating/discussing in good faith.

With kids, you need to modify it so that it is not obvious what mommy and daddy are doing. You can have a code signal to tell the submissive to basically "shut it immediately", we can deal with it when the kids aren't around or at a designated cuddling/please speak your mind time. No more arguing in front of the kids! Simple gestures like putting your hand on the small of their back or neck and manevering them around, choosing their meal for them (this is also a test for you, do you remember wha…

I don't know much about this since I am not going to be having kids (if so) for a while and while I may engage in a 24/7 D/s relationship at some point (I am mostly dominant sexually), I would really only do 24/7 if it was something my partner/girlfriend, the submissive, requested. There are all different kinds of subs and that affects how things work. I must disagree. I see the age of 18 being trotted out a lot (at least in the States) even though age of consent can be often be 16, I think even 15, maybe 17, etc. on a statewide basis. And there are often Romeo-Juliet laws that allow for consent between people of very similar ages such as 15 and 16 in a 16 y.o. consent state. But 18 has been the magic number where exceptions such as teacher-student relationship preventing consent and other exceptions fall off. Plus, you gotta be 18 to join the…

This grand patriarchy of ours is complete shit. Why can't we go back to a time when men were men, women were cattle, and children weren't expected to make it past their first year? /s You don't need paragraphs upon paragraphs to point out a simple double standard. Maybe women ought to be more represented in comics. Maybe they haven't because of comic reader demographics. Even attempting the restraining order is a good step in case things get worse. Their rights end when they infringe upon yours, and being mentally I'll may alter the repercussions they face but not the effect—she should still be restrained from you, it's just that she may not go to jail for violating the order. I also have mental disorders, but I can't speak for severe autism. It's still upon my head if I fuck up in society. Whether she understands what she is doing is wrong I cannot say, and the…

As long as it's consensual and no children are screwed up in the process, keep your fucking nose out of how couples choose to live. Agreed. I don't believe women or men are inherently more good or evil than the other. Give a people a chance to abuse their power with minimal or no consequences, and you'll quickly find who are the immoral beings. IIRC pedophilia was more commonly performed by women against children, but that was counterbalanced by the fact that they on average spend more time with children.
/r/MensRights06/09/14 03:38 PM

Pedophilia in its laymen definition appears to be anyone that is not of majority age (mostly <18). Try calling 17 year old ephebophilia and see how long you last before you are accused of just synonymizing pedophilia.

I don't think there should be prosecution of false rape allegations just because the accessed was found not guilty. The standard of evidence must be higher, or else courtrooms would have to find either the accuser or accused guilty with no chance of simply saying "insufficient evidence, not guilty." However, if the accuser confesses or has such terrible holes and physical evidence that make it so that they couldn't just be a mistaken rape victim but must be actively plotting the false allegation…

Hate that this is a RoK post but it does point out a valid issue, one I've even personally experienced dating. Does no mean no or does no mean "I want to resist you a little and get you frustrated so you succumb to desire and overpower and utterly dominate me." Which is hot and is certainly a thing I am into—with consent. Both hers and mine. You need a safeword for it, because it's very easy to go beyond comfort for either partner.

it is difficult to conjure what would motivate such false reporting Some people just want to watch the world burn. My friends and I all marked that we were the sluttiest sluts on some sex-ed survey in high school, since most of us (except the more devout who believed in no sex until marriage: nothing against that but I honestly wish y'all the best of luck) thought that abstinence-only education was ridiculous.

Actually, Lady Gaga is genuinely talented and is weird of her own accord. She trained to be a popstar; others didn't train to make her one. I don't think she is actually attractive enough to have been picked up by a popstar generation machine of their own accord. By that I mean she's not Hollywood hot, just regular hot. My friends think she's not that attractive (male and female). But I certainly wouldn't kick her out of bed, unless she was wearing a fleshsuit. Well, maybe even not then.

Around puberty it gets dicey. Girls hit puberty sooner and now all of a sudden are often taller and stronger then boys on average (IIRC). Then boys hit puberty and now they are taller and stronger on average. And of course, puberty hits at different times for different persons. You probably have to cutoff co-ed sports before 95% of the participants hit puberty.

Devil's advocate: what happens if all the baseball (usually men's only) players decide to switch to softball (a similar sport that I've never seen men compete in)? If softball is easier than baseball, wouldn't you as a coach want every baseball player on your team? And if you do recruit them all, is it still a girl's team?

Well, in Olympic level sports there's usually a big difference between men and women's records. But these are the extremes of the sport. If it was a purely merit-based system, allowing girls onto boys teams when there is no girl's team (after puberty) wouldn't be a big deal in most sports (notable exception: some kinds of gymnastics), because the average girl doesn't perform as well as the average boy. There will of course be exceptions to the average, and we should cherish this! The problem com…

Stick to facts and a fairly neutral tone. Don't sit and blame feminism unless it directly opposes something else you are advocating—then feel free to tear it a new one! Don't sling around charged buzzwords willy-nilly. And cite a lot of sources. Bunch of feel-good tripe backed by psuedo-science. Wider hips ≠ more powerful hips. Lower center of mass ≠ win. So I know that "cock carousel" is a primarily red pill term. What's the argument against marrying or being in a relationship with a woman who's "ridden" one? And is there an equivalent for men? Not an antagonistic question, I am truly curious and the cock carousel is presented as inherently bad without explanation. This sounds absurd police oppression until you read by her own admission it was intended as an act of provocation. A sexual assault charge is exceedingly fair. Perhaps the MHRM bent is that the double standard is acknowledged by the police union's general secretary, Franco Maccari: If the policeman had kissed her, world war three would have broken out,” he said. “Or what if I had patted her on the behind? She would have been outraged. So if she does that to a man on duty, should it be tolerated?

It's more of a deal-breaker than race. It's often listed on online dating profiles that you must be ye tall to even message them. And You can't even compare it to say breasts. A good number of guys like ladies of modest to even no endowment, but finding a woman who likes short men is like panning for gold. A …

I think it's because feminism is inherently intellectually stagnant and doesn't constantly evolve. So with each generation they must assimilate new issues into the cause to remain relevant. That's why feminism doesn't have a defined scope; anything can be a feminist issues if enough feminists decree it "cool" enough to be so.
/r/MensRights03/12/13 04:00 PM

Another perspective: ALL issues are eligible feminist issues given enough feminists who decide to care about it. Racism, skepticism, gamers, social justice, OWS etc. all have fallen under the supposed banner of feminism because they were hip and cool enough issues.

That's begging the question there - how do you infer that? You can give hypotheticals and what ifs all you like, but I think a really good point that shows that this may not be the case is the example with chickens. When I made that statement, I was giving a rough statement because this is not a scientific forum. A better one is that evolution is driven by selection on inheritable traits. That's a complicated question. Biology doesn't do altruism because that is sacrificing your own genes for the sake of somebody else's. Evolution is based on genes, not individuals. Unrequited altruism is selected against. Altruism that propagates your genetics (not necessarily your own self) may sometimes be favored. The best example are ant colonies: only the queen (and the short lived male-drones) is fertile and can produce offspring, including other queens. Though all the daughters she produc…

Dear Entrepreneurial Spirits, CEOs, Budding Co-Founders and Geeks of the World: Put me on your board. Why? I am entrepreneurial, proven and not risk-adverse. So is my grandma. She's maintained quite the garden, despite planting in sumner! Get in line. I thrive on the thrill of exponential momentum and stop at nothing to get the job done. I wilt in the presence of meaningless phrases and tired cliches. Get in line. I am thirsty, yet experienced enough to take a step back and advise. Drink some wa…

Ok, what needs to be done is determining that this isn't just some "glitch" in the system. What you claim being blocked is the Vancouver MRA Facebook page. The group page has only 25 members and appears non-inflammatory (glancing). It is unlikely the page itself was individually targeted, if it is indeed blocked. A quick Google search for "Vancouver MRA" turns up this feminisms.org article that is critical of MHRM: "Men’s Rights Activists and Misdirected Hatred". Note the word "hatred" in the ti…

Is that similar to a prenuptial agreement in the States? Prenups are tossed out a lot even when done written by a good lawyer and signed by both parties, at least from what I read here.

You still own the copyright to your work. The faculty gets paid by the university and even they own the copyrights to their work. Even if your paper was worthy of professional accolades—that's your doing, your work, not theirs. And hey, if it sucked—you wrote it, they just told you how. Feel free to post it anyway after you run it through their Plague-Detector 2000 (it's basically a glorified search engine). Once it's in the plagiarism database, there is really no need to keep an undergraduate's…

A lot of times in /r/TumblrInAction and /r/SRSSucks commenters post sarcastically, saying "Men can't rape, shitlord!" And then I see it is literally legally defined that way in some jurisdictions. Oh dear.

All feminists? No. A feminist? Many. They will never use the phrase "man up" per se. But they will write in circles to state it without saying it. You'll often see entire paragraphs which can be very accurately distilled down to those two words.

Alright, realtalk here. I will focus on men, because it's different for women and I am not well educated on this: "Heightism" is actually a thing. There are numerous scientific studies that show significant biases against short people, especially against men. These biases are often subconscious and are not just relegated to sexual attraction. Short men are viewed as less dominant and are measurably paid less. Men elected into positions of power are on average significantly taller than the height…

Y'all may want to include something along the lines of "Why do we need men's rights?" Otherwise y'all will get "Child custody? But what about rape!?" and of course "But men already have more rights than women!" Feminism is the elephant in the room. There's no need to dance with it, but it should be briefly addressed in how it might have helped initially, and now it actively works against men's rights/humanism—thus the need for MRAs! It has institutional power (ex. where your girlfriend is giving…

I think a brutal fight is a halfway-decent analogy. I think by making rape THE WORST THING EVER, we actually make it harder for rape victims to start healing. Compare people who have been raped and don't realize it, versus those in similar situations who do.

FGM comes in many forms, from partial removal at the clitoral hood to removal of the clitoris itself shudder. Feminists do the same thing with the term "FGM" as they do "rape": package various degrees of violation in one category, point towards the worst instance, and get the whole thing viewed as bad. It is very effective. And while I can't agree with how they did it, I do very much agree with what they did: make FGM viewed as a barbaric practice, and push to have it eliminated. But again, see …

Perhaps. I was trying to incorporate what I thought was how you wanted to take the discussion. I tried to reserve my personal opinions in the commentary, and hopefully I have made them apparent. My belief is that you should those questions all at once. But perhaps you actually mean to initially ask the first question, and expect the conversation to lead you to the next questions. In that case my rewrites are indeed unnecessary, my bad! :)

There's no need to lead the question if the facts will back up your argument. I am a scientist, so let me try reformulating questions into a, um, more "sciencey" way! 1) What was the lot of the men in the same time & place? IOW, were they also denied the same privileges, and of not, what were the responsibilities places as an onus on men to be able to be counted worthy of those privileges? Instead, simply repeat any statement deploring the female condition by asking as similar a question as poss…

I have PM'd the mod more than a year ago about this under a different name. She was very nice, but no, my feelings of being excluded for being male are false because the subreddit is for ALL bodies! So I posted. About hating my body and myself for not being perfect enough to the point of near suicide. And a few people cared. They were supportive. More people cared about "I am fat" post #259 because they can sympathize with that more, I guess. Male body image issues don't real. Anyway who cares I…

Tumblr finally took an entry-level biology course. I will afford xim a moment of my time. Male disposability theory posits that females are less disposable than males because they are the limiting factor in population growth […] This makes sense when you consider r-selected species (species that produce numerous offspring and little to no parental care). However, in K-selected species (species that produce few offspring and provide a great deal of parental care, like humans), male disposability …

I think domestic abuse is or should be a strong concern of men's rights activism. The way it's treated legally and socially is just fucked up. Even the instances of violence that do not concern men are still fucked up. I think it's important to show sympathy here. This affects everyone, including men. What is first-world feminism doing right now? Slut-walks and co-opting every social equity movement under the sun, twisting it toward their own agenda. I say it's time to bust their monopoly. Men's…

You can. From Wikipedia: HSV-1 rates are between 70% to 80% in populations of low socio-economic status and 40% to 60% in populations of improved socio-economic status. It's incredibly common even in the West, it's just usually asymptomatic or presents as a cold sore. Especially considering that those same prostitutes have track records of discriminating against boys. More information on this?

I may be wrong, but I don't think kisses on the cheek are a viable infectious pathway. Many viruses do not survive even a minute outside the body (though I am not sure about herpes, I didn't Google). Also herpes should be nigh noninfectious if the carrier is not experiencing an outbreak without a direct pathway. And if they are experiencing an outbreak and choose to kiss little kids—well, I'm not sure a word exists to describe how morally reprehensible it is, but you might as well be worried abo…

That shouldn't be a problem unless, you know, the teacher is having sex with them. As much as teacher sex scandals make for great news stories, I don't think it's common. I don't think this is about "men's rights are being trampled!" I think it's just highlighting a double standard. I consider the shirt itself as innocuous. It's a sign of the times rather than an actual affront. It's what it symbolizes, what spurred this shirt's creation, that is the actual problem.
