Fuckin' right on! As the song goes, 'Now You're Just Somebody That I Used To Know'

I won't be telling my ex if/when I get a new GF or become engaged. My kids - currently 16 & 18 - will probably end up telling her IDGAF if she finds out by the kids or a fortune teller. Her opinion of what I'm doing in my life means as much to me as the person reading this right now. I don't understand why you care if she tweaks or not. Tell her to fuck the fuck off if she doesn't like it!

Date your GF for at least 2+ yrs to really learn what kind of person she is when there's conflict/arguments and times of stress. How do they conduct themselves when they're angry? There will be conflicts and stress over the years and you want to be with someone who can work things out, not just get loud and try to bully their way into "winning". Look at her family and how they interact with each other in relationships, especially her mother & father. If they're divorced, look at the one she bond…

Its going to vary wildly on here because everyone's income, debt, and overall situation is different. If you're trying to get an idea of what yours will be, ask an AI bot

It's a tradeoff between trying to sell everything yourself, with one item sold here and another there, having to write-up the listings, deal with idiots who never show up and all of the annoyances of that stuff. Just Google "estate sale companies near me" and have a look

We're selling the house and I'm forcing everything to be sold via an estate sale company. They come in and do absolutely everything, including the entire removal process. You, literally, just need to give up a % of the money.

Good for you, man! I'm happy my kids are almost-18 and almost-16, so I don't have to worry about them so much. Best of luck to you bro!

That sounds so fucking stupid! WTF? She's trying to take control of the whole situation.....bet that's one of your pet peeves in your marriage, isn't it?? The therapist should dictate how everything goes from beginning to end. One side should not doing stupid shit like this on their own. I would tweak if my spouse did that and the therapist allowed it

If you can afford it, go get your own apartment! I'm divorcing after 20 years, but I'm 10,000 miles away from her, so it's not quite as bad, I suppose. I won't miss her for a minute, but the breaking up of my family (2 older teens) is the very last thing I ever wanted in my life.

yes, there are definitely some good times without the "ole ball and chain" lurking around, throwing shade and just generally pissing you off constantly! LOL Fuckin women! haha!

Keep reading all of the other posts by men who have been down this road before where they say "I've been where you are" and "You will get through this!" I'm in the middle of a divorce from 20 yrs of marriage right now. It's still fresh, but I've come a LONGGGGG way just in the few months since it was decided. What helped me was to throw myself into the gym 5-6 days per week. It killed time, gave me some "dopamine shots" in my brain, and I've started to transform my body into something I haven't …

Great words, man! I'm several months into the decision to divorce and I was right where this guy was....some days I still am, I guess. I'm starting over at 51, after a 20-year marriage, unfortunately. "You miss the good, but you don't remember the bad" THIS is something that I tell myself all the damn time not to do! I remember her screaming at me after an argument about doing the dishes, of all things......and other such nonsense incidents. Stay focused and take your rage out in the gym or some…

Thanks for this....im gonna use it! "Grey Rock" (or grey rocking) is a communication tactic where you act as boring, unresponsive, and uninteresting as a literal grey rock to deter emotionally manipulative or toxic people (like narcissists) by removing the drama and attention they crave, making them lose interest and move on to an easier targe

I loathe my STBXW and if she sent me a text like that, I'd say, "You're right, I do hate you. Too bad about the rent"

Classic narcissist, just like my bitch of an ex-wife! Every problem is someone else's fault....every fucking time! What a mess....file the papers and bail!

Just tell her that's not how it's going to be, sorry and she what she says back. If she absolutely insists, just say goodbye! You're too old to be spoken to so disrespectfully like that

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
