There are a LOT of things in divorce and child custody/support that are feminism issues. The age that child support stops at is not correlated with "liberal feminist states" as OP claims.

I know people in Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri who have had to pay until 26. If the dependent stays as a dependent until that age, the child support continues.

You say it's because you live in a "liberal feminist state" that you'd be paying child support until your child is 23. In many deeply conservative states you're required to pay child support until the child is 26. This isn't a feminism issue.

I'm really sorry that you're going through this. I'm going through something similar. If you want to talk, I'm around.

Next week I can start going for walks. I know my dog has been missing walks.

I've been in therapy since July. I've already come a long way.

Thanks for the advice. I'm doing my best to go NC. Haven't seen her or even texted for three weeks now.

Thanks for the advice. I've been seeing a therapist since August. Some nights are just so hard.

He got raked over the coals. He paid child support for 17 years and never got to see the kid. Then when his kid turned 18 my cousin found out the ex was keeping the kid out of school to raise her other kids, he was failing all of his classes. Cousin had to take the ex to court with the kid to testify that she had been abusing him the whole time. I hope you have more luck.

Thanks man. I've got a therapist, I'm trying to build a support network. I can't do any exercise right now because I just had a surgery and I'm on restrictions. I barely slept last night. I just wish the world would pause.

I've been staying sober for over a month now. Honestly I don't even want to drink. I'm in Indiana. 50/50 state.

I've been in therapy for a while over this. I've got all of the basics covered. It's just so sad.

I really appreciate it man. I'm sorry you ended up in this position. I never understood heartbreak until now.

Thanks man. I'm just sick of people telling me I'm free now, or to sack up, or how good I should feel to be out of marriage. I loved her. I loved being married. I have no choice in this matter. She filed for divorce and there's nothing I can do to stop it. What a fucked up situation.

So you're one of the douchebags who just troll all the relationship subs? Get a life.

I've got an attorney already. For one god damn day I'm allowed to feel sad.

Good luck. My cousin tried the same thing in NC a decade ago.

It doesn't matter now. Most states don't allow you to divorce in that state until you've been living married in that state for some amount of time.

Go ahead and fuck off. You don't know what I've been doing.

You didn't fail them. Make sure you hold them tight and tell them how much you love them. That's all they need right now.

Thanks, man. I've been in therapy for a few months now. Try to go to the gym when I have the energy to do so. Been trying to eat healthier. Stopped drinking. Just trying to get through each day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
