This actually reminded me of something that happened with my ex. I’m really into painting, and I’ve read quite a few books on Monet as he’s one of my favourite artists. My ex never gave a crap about my hobbies, and constantly berated my love of painting. One day, he dead ass came to my house wearing a shirt... that had a Waterlillies painting on it... a painting by Monet. I said to him “do you know what that painting is?” and he went “it’s by Monet”. Except he pronounced Monet as “muh-net”. This…

Of course, it would be a difficult process. I’ve never been in that situation so I can’t pretend to know what it’s like, but know everyone in this sub supports you and are here for you. My inbox is always open if you ever want to chat to someone removed from your life 💕

That’s honestly deranged, I couldn’t imagine being such an awful person that empathy is an afterthought

I hope he’s going to be an ex-husband soon..

My ex openly said to me “I don’t feel empathy. You could cry in front of me and I legitimately wouldn’t care”. I didn’t believe it at first, because I was like surely fucking not, but he did indeed prove himself to be an actual psychopath. It’s 2 years since I dumped his revolting ass, but it still blows me away

I live in Australia, so guns, pepper spray and tasers are illegal for us to have unless you’re a cop. I do however have a considerable amount of baseball bats laying around for someone who has never played baseball 😂 as for the Ring, I’m in the process of trying to convince my landlord that it’s necessary

What a good boy, GS’ are such beautiful dogs. I live alone and I wish I could have a dog, but I go to uni full time and live in a townhouse with a very small backyard. I know I’d feel so much safer with a beautiful rescue dog with me but it’s not feasible right now which really sucks

Oh incredible, may I ask what your thesis is about? I’ve honestly found that unless the guy himself is studying a PhD or MD, they simply don’t understand the commitment our degrees require. And then usually if they’re a PhD or MD too, they’re arrogant/patronising as hell despite doing the same degree as us 😂

MD/PhD student here. Can confirm I have entirely given up on dating whilst studying my doctorates. It’s just an absolute nightmare and makes your life even more stressful than it already is, and that’s literally the last thing we need

I’ve also tried to set boundaries, but I’m really her only friend so when I don’t have it in me to support her, she’s truly alone. She gets quite upset about it, which in turn upsets me. It’s hard as well because I live in a separate state, so I can’t even pull her away for the day and hang out with her. On top of that, I go to uni full time and am doing placement, so I’m super busy. This is the third relationship with a LVM she’s been in in 4 years, and I’ve been there for her through all of th…

Yes absolutely, I’m glad you understand! This is also the third relationship with an LVM that I’ve supported her through in 4 years and it’s just been a lot. It doesn’t help that I live in another state, so I can’t be there for her in the way that I want to. I want to do more but more than that, I want her to realise she deserves so much more 💕

Best of luck to you too. That sounds like a decent way to go about it. I hope she’s good enough of a person to not use anything of those things against you

I’m thinking about cutting my best friend off because her boyfriend, who she constantly forgives and forgets, is an LVM. And I’m always the one who hears about the awful stuff he does, and i expend so much energy into making her feel seen and understood, and then she goes right back to him. It takes a lot out of me. She is a such a wonderful person but she doesn’t see her worth and doesn’t realise she deserves better. I’m drained

Yes!! Tbh he did tell me that he only started flossing his teeth “when he met me” so I really wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t brush 🤢

I actually know a girl that does exactly that 😂 she’s 6”0 too but says she’s 6”2 and she says it’s pretty much always guarantees that they are truthful about their height

I got a yeast infection and/or a UTI legitimately every single time I had sex with my ex. It was fucked up. Of course he convinced me that something was wrong with me, but in actual fact that dude wouldn’t wash his hands (yes seriously, even after going to the bathroom) and wouldn’t wash his dick. Beyond revolting, makes me gag thinking about it

Prior to meeting me, a lot of people think I exaggerate my height (eg. I say 6”0 but realllly I’m 5”10), then they’re shocked when I actually am 6”0 and am often taller than them. I used to not specifically say my height because I didn’t realise it was such an issue, but even now that I do always mention it, it still happens

The amount of times I’ve been shamed for wanting a guy who is 6”0+, but have had guys get up and leave MID DATE because I myself am 6”0 is outrageous lmfao

God I’m so sorry. I hope you’ve managed to take healing steps, I can’t even imagine how awful and dehumanising it would’ve been. Thank you for sharing, sending you a lot of love and support 💕

My ex called me heartless because I didn’t cry when I broke up with him. Like boy, you lied to me, gaslighted me, manipulated me, insulted me in front of your friends and family, yelled at me, mocked me, used racist slurs against me, picked fights for no reason, and you wanna call me heartless? Gtfoohwts

A friend of my family was married to her husband for 35 years, they had two kids together who are now in their 20’s, of course they had a house together etc. He owned a gym and was making great money, she only did cleaning for a few hours a week and was heavily reliant on him for income. He had also been adding other expenses onto their mortgage without her knowing. 2 years ago, he cheated on her with a 25 year old woman, ended up leaving for this young woman, and left our family friend with 2 k…

Omg that would be so humiliating, why tf even get married if that’s the perspective on it. I bet that family would’ve constantly nagged the husband to find a wife and have kids too. Probably just so they could all have a new emotional punching bag. Unbelievable. I’m glad my family just had a tradition where we eat get two slices of cake, one for eating and the other to throw at someone else 😂

Oh thank you I had no idea! I basically made my Reddit account a while ago, completely forgot about it and just got back onto it in the last week or so, so I’m quite the newbie still 😂I didn’t realise it was so common, seems to defeat the entire point of their mentality

Funny I’ve come across this post now, because a guy (who I believe lurks this sub, as he made references to another comment I made on a different post here) just messaged me on here, and took time to point out he “doesn’t have any psychological issues”. I went to his comment/post history, and saw numerous anti-abortion comments, anti-feminist comments, posts/comments on RedPill. Honestly mate, I think you have very deeply rooted psychological issues. I thought it was super weird that he would co…

I actually haven’t seen it yet!! But if it involves having to constantly buy men’s shoes because size 12 women’s are never stocked, and also a severely reduced dating pool because of your height, then yes it’s super accurate 😂😂 I generally don’t go for guys who are below my height anymore, because every time I have, it’s been a problem for them and I’d just rather not have men’s insecurities projected onto me. But then, of course, I get criticised for not dating guys under 6”0. But then again, I…

I used to date a dude who would only take photos with me when I was sitting down, and he was standing. He was 5”10 and I’m 6”0. I’ve also had guys literally get up MID DATE and leave because of my height. Some guy cut me off mid sentence and said “I’m sorry I have to go, you’re just too... tall”. Another said “wow you’re taller than I thought” bruh I told you i’m 6”0 why would you think I’m joking 😂

I saw a post on Reddit yesterday, and it was of someone’s grandparents who had been together for 70-75 years (I can’t remember the exact length), and all I could think was “I wonder how much bullshit she’s had to deal with in that time”. Everyone was saying “goals” “this is how it should be” “what a perfect couple”, but that guy could’ve literally thrown copious amounts of shit at her and she wouldn’t have been able to leave. Really rubbed me the wrong way that there wasn’t a single comment abou…

If a man ever referred to me as a “ball and chain” I’d dump his ass on the spot. Absolutely can’t stand that phrase, and it’s even worse when they use it in a joking manner because they’re literally just finding humour in being disrespectful as hell to their partner

As a woman who plays professional basketball, this shit drives me nuts. I have men who have never touched a basketball in their life tell me they could beat me because they’re a man. Regardless of the fact I’ve represented my state, my country, and I’m paid to play. They still think because they’re BIG STRONG MANLY MAN they could thrash me. Most of the men that say it have the body types of a cooked piece of spaghetti as well. It’s unbelievable. But sure mate. Whatever helps you sleep at night

I had a similar experience! There was two girls I was meant to have a coffee with (separately). Online, they seemed really cool. We shared a few common interests, I even go to the same Uni as one of them. One of them cancelled on me about 5 minutes before we were meant to meet (I drove 20 minutes to this cafe), and the other one just stood me up. I waited at the cafe (once again, a half hour drive away) for about 30 minutes, and sent her a few messages asking where she was. Eventually I just got…

Recently had an argument with a man about sexism in medicine. As someone studying an MD and a PhD, and also as a woman, I have a fair idea. Needless to say he didn’t listen to what I was saying, as he “never experienced it”.
