I am not going to spend anymore time after this because the OP sounds like she has gotten some ideas she feels like will help her move on. But you are missing what I am saying. You as the reader don't have to do anything other than read what I said. Some women want marriage and some women don't care about marriage. My point was if OP wants marriage before she can feel he is fully committed then she may always feel like he isn't as committed. If OP doesn't care then the ideas given here should he…

I never said what I thought about it,, I was sharing a view point that that you don't agree with and that is fine. I was trying to understand why the op may be struggling with this. Saying something that you disagree with or upsets you doesn't make it toxic.

I am assuming you aren't married but if you are then obviously this is wrong. If I am honest it kind of makes sense why this upsets you so much. You have been together 4 years and he was your first and there is no marriage. So what you are doing with him is similar to a long term version of what he was doing before. Obviously not everyone cares about marriage but you sound insecure about his commitment to you and keep thinking about his past.

Unless I missed something, the op doesn't say they are married.

This is so strange to me, I feel so happy being a woman. I have never seen RP tell women that they less than men, that isn't what it is about at all. You sound like you have some toxic people in your life. I don't think being a man would make you feel any better. I think would be good to find someone to help you work past this. There is no reason to go through life hurting like this.

FYI: I am writing this from a Cathloic perspective since the poster is Cathloic, I realize this doesn't apply to everyone. First of all welcome back to the Church ,as a Catholic myself who was around wokeism I can relate to some parts of your story. I think there is a lot going on right now and you are trying to tackle everything at once. Having long terms goals is great but carrying around a list of every mistake you ever made and want to fix in your head is overwhelming. It is important to und…

I think it is wonderful that you want to be a wife and home maker! It can be so rewarding but like with everything else there are steps you need to take to make it work. The first thing you need to do is finish high school. You can get your GED and in some ways that may work out fine but in others it could cause a problem. Obviously there is nonway to know what you are going to be dealing with in life do I always try to go for the best choice for more options, so lets explore the diploma first. …

I don't think you should tell her now. Normally I would be have ideas on how to tell people who aren't very supportive or might be dramatic. However with what you shared about the issues her knowing will cause I wouldn't do it. Obviously she will eventually find out but for now enjoy your pregnancy and your happiness. You don't owe her information, you are allowed to choose who you share your life with and it is ok if it isn't her. My suggestion is to spend the next few months with your husband …

I am Catholic so my faith shapes my feelings on things , so I can only speak from that perspective. Being a wife and a mother is the most important thing I will do, I am helping shape the future. My job is no less valuable than doctors and lawyers, it is diffrerent. Every job and person has worth so I am supportive of women in the workforce especially doctors because I will only females. I wonder if men not viewing it as vaulable is more an issue of where you live. I live in the US in a very con…

It is so interesting to me to see what the world considers a women of value. It is the same old story that only CEO's or trail blazers are the main characters while the traditional women fade into history unknown and unimportant. You hear it all the time "you need to do something with your life,be remembered!" Obviously if you haven't made a million dollars , smashed the glass ceiling or ended up in history books as the main character, you are lower. I am not known and I will never be remembered…

I love all the great great suggestions people have shared! The only thing I wanted to add was that submission comes from trust. You mentioned that he took advantage of your submisson. But submission is a choice you make based on your ablilty to trust the person. You said you came from a broken home so maybe this wasn't what you saw. But you don't submit to someone simply because they are male or dating you, it is a commitment from both people that is usually in a marraige if you are religous (I …

There are very serious red flags here! Not taking showers and properly grooming yourself without being told is not normal. Peeing in public and stealing other peoples property is illegal. Not to mention he only put the lamb back when you insisted. If you hadn't what was he going to do with it? I just don't see how any of those things are funny. Right now you don't need him to be trustworthy, to provide for or raise a family. But when he is trying to convince you of things instead of your parents…

Thank you for anwsering ,that makes sense. I am Catholic and have really enjoyed learning more about Orthodoxy. I always thought Catholic and Orthodox were so similar and while in some ways they are ,the differences are very profound. If I am understanding you correctly it sounds like it is less of an issue of Catholic or Orthodox and more a question of if he will be leading faith in your home or not. I don't think it is necessary. I don't have social media for exactly the reasons you listed. I am starting to also feel that way about reddit, I do enjoy some parts of it but in general I don't like the way I feel after being on here. It can be so hard to even use it to make a decision though because like another poster mentioned it can be hard to vet the information source. With the internet you can present yourself in anyway you want. I can relate to what you are saying so much! I don't think the age gap is a good idea. I don't have an issue with them in general but I do with these ages(if you both were older like 37 and 50 it wouldn't really matter). He is just getting started in adulthood and you have established yourself. So many feelings can change for him while you are more likely to be more settled. I don't see this working long term for either one of you.

I understand what you are saying. The problem is YOU alone can't make a happy marriage. It takes two people working together to create that. There are ways you can make things better like taking responsibilty for your actions and changing behaviors that are causing problems. Which it sounds like you are doing. But you can't give enough effort to make up for his lack of effort. This isn't about anyone beimg perfect or a monster. At least right now he has decided he is done, you have no choice but…

This is much deeper than him not being attracted to you. The way he went about it and the things he said is beyond explaining what the problem is. The issue of one spouse not being as attracted to the other over time is not that unusual, people change. But you can address concerns without destroying the other person. What he is doing is placing all the blame on you by choosing something that is not quickly fixed (like you said it takes awhile to lose weight). He decides all of the sudden he has …

I think you need to reset how you interact with men. You need to give them a chance to lead and persue you. Your previous interactions with men where about what they could do for you to get what they wanted from you. Relationships don't work that way ,it needs more connection and you have to establish trust and closeness. Those things were less important before because there was a different understanding, it was more of a business agreement . If you are looking for a long term relationship, you n…

It always is so interesting to see how people view us. It is usually a cross between stepford wives and oppressed servants who never leave the closet except to make a sandwich. There is so much hate and mis information. It is always assumed we are brain washed. Obviously I can't speak for every one but I would never push anyone into this. I don't think SMV has anything to do with this. You are 30 years and already planning your divorce and spinsterhood! Slow down ,take a breath and figure out what is going on. I read the title and it was enough for me to reply, though I did read the whole post before I replied. Some really great ideas on this have ben shared so far! I don't think red pill is a guarantee for happiness, honestly I don't think anything can be. I agree with the idea that it is about understanding the reality of life and using it to your advantage to put yourself in the best situation you can. That makes sense it sounds like he is overwhelmed and misses when things weren't so chaotic, I am sure you do too. The good news is all of this is fixable and will get better very soon. A baby is a huge adjustment no matter how wanted or planned for they are. Spend a little while maybe while you are feeding the baby thinking how you can create more peace for BOTH of you. I would say no. The only exception I can think of would be if the other parent was dead but even then maybe not. Harsh I know but I have seen this play out many times and even in the best of coparenting situations it is hard. I agree that you can't convince him but I do think you can discuss it again. I would say that you have been thinking about things and you would like to revisit the idea of children sooner. I would explain why you feel the way you do and share with him why you don't feel that having a child sooner would interfere with the plans he had for the first few years. I am in the trad wives group and religious. I was raised atheist and had no real concept of religion or traditional roles. My parents have a very egalitarian marriage and have both worked for most of my childhood. My husband and I just kind if fell into this when we had kids and it is what works for us. If this is how you feel ,then why are you moving in without a commitment? How will moving in help you walk away if he isn't interested after 6 months? He sounds like a friend, it is not a bad thing but may not be what he wants. You can love and support him without dating him. It is not your job to save him from loneliness and people don't get a girlfriend as a reward for being nice. You need to be honest with him, it isn't fair to keep doing this for either of you. It is ok not to be attracted to someone and it is ok to not be in a relationship with really nice people.

I think there needs to be a combination of things for it to work, nothing is magical. Both people have to have empathy ,compassion and love for each other to be open to change. If someone has left the marriage in their mind there really isn't any way to have a relationship by yourself. The other person needs to recognize that you are trying and appreciate the effort. I don't think this is a good situation. There are other ways to get most of the same legal protections as marriage but of course all of them need to be recognized by the government. You need to be sure you are protected. If he loves you ,why wouldn't he want that for you too?

I can understand being considerate but when does it go from considerate to helping him obsess over this situation? I would hope after two plus hours of talking about this on a regular basis, my friends and family would say enough this isn't healthy. How could she help him fix this? I didn't see where she once dismissed his feelings, it sounds like quite the opposite of being dismissive. I know it seems like this is an issue because you are a stay at home wife but I promise it isn't. The issue is there are jelous, nasty, people who want to hurt others for whatever reason. If you worked they would have something nasty to say about how you don't even try with the house. If you have two kids, then you are a failure because they do some much better with their 3. So I think there are probably a few things going on. You mentioned both wanting to be heard and being right. Often times wanting to be heard is trying to get acceptance for yourself. You want people to hear and agree with your ideas because it means they accept you. This need makes you very susceptible to abusive relationship because you need other people to validate you (obviously to some extent we all do but this would be more extreme). Being right tends to be more close minded and you just ca…

Jealousy takes so much energy and accomplishes nothing. You need to refocus that energy into something productive. You can't control others peoples actions but you can control how you handle situations. There will always be someone prettier/fitter so if that is the only basis for your relationship then it won't last anyways. Relationships are built on more than looks. Spend the time and energy focusing on improving yourself and building your relationship. No one ever said thier biggest regret in…

Something is not right! This is a serious hygiene issue, there are millions of bisexual people who sleep with man and women and still don't give their partners ecoli every month. Get baskets that hold the right size for a load then put the loads to be washed in the baskets. All he has to do is throw the basket in and empty it from the dryer in the basket. You can buy different colors (blue for whites, red for darks, ect) and it will make sorting the laundry easier too. You can have them lined up along the wall for sorting rather than having a big hamper where he can grab handfuls. When the basket is full it goes in the washer.

Marriage should not include punishment. This situation is completely unacceptable for any relationship let alone a marriage to the person you love the most. This isn't an issue that being nicer or more understanding can fix. Your husband sounds like he has anger issues if something like this can cause such a strong reaction and keep it going hours later. It sounds like you recognized the first mistake was not sticking to the boundaries you set. If you walk away when your limits are crossed there is no need to be aggressive. Instead of walking away you stayed to fight it out. I don't support sticking it out in a dating relationship. The whole point of dating is to see if marriage is a good idea and obviously it isn't with someone you can't trust. Gener…

My husband and I didn't have close friends of the opposite sex before marriage. Short answer is NO! You can never control anyone else's behavior (even helping). All you can control is your behavior. My favorite saying is "Feelings happen, Behavior is a choice". Basically no matter how you are feeling or what someone has done to you, how you react is always in your control. For whatever reason at times your husband chooses not to control his actions. I wouldn't do that, I would have a small wedding. You can do a big vow renewal in 5 years or something. The important part of the marriage isn't the wedding, so postponing it until you can have a big wedding or the wedding you want while starting a family is backwards to me. Not spending much on your wedding will give you the money to start a family.

We all make mistakes and try to take short cuts hoping they will work out. He should have been prepared and double checked everything. But he didn't and thought he could wing it. The issue is when it doesn't work you own it and figure it out ,not blame your accountant, your brother and everyone else but yourself. He took a chance and lost ,no big deal. It is annoying but these things teach us how to so better. He can't learn from this though because according to him he did nothing wrong. This be…

Relationships involve many feelings but fear and dread shouldn't be included in the feelings. When you say you can't break up with someone that is a red flag. A relationship is an agreement between two people. If only one person has all the power that is a very scary dynamic and is not safe. What you posted here is very clear that you are not interested in pursuing this. You didn't seem unsure or wanting more time to work this out, you just want to be done but are worried he won't let you. Let m…

You are never responsible for other people's actions! My favorite saying is Feelings happen but behavior is a choice. At 26 he should be in control of his actions enough to function regardless of how he feels, that is what adults do. You need to learn this while you are younger,it will save you lots of suffering in life. You deserve to be happy with a partner of your choice, not stuck with someone you don't love out of guilt or fear.

Unfortunately you can only control your reaction. So as far as preventing escalation you can't control if he escalates. Obviously how you react matters but if he chooses to create problems there is nothing you can do. What you have just described is a no win situation. If you explain what you meant and that you weren't trying to offend him he is upset. If you just apologize he is upset. Either way he manipulates the situation and there is never focus on how you feel. The dynamic is he decides wh…

Full disclosure: I am old (according to my children), so I have no idea who any of those people you were talking about are. But I don't think it matters ,I feel like I understand the issue. This behavior is insecurity, he is uncomfortable and doesn't know how to express it. When he talks about being repulsed he means what you said made him feel bad and shuts down (gives you the silent treatment) after it. He isn't trying to communicate, he is trying to manipulate! I suspect the issue with his co…

I have a similar experience with my family being not having my beliefs or life goals. They aren't nearly as vocal or as confrontation as yours seem to be. But I can understand the feelings you are talking about. What works for me is focusing on the things that we do have in common and gentle reminders that I love them and don't want to fight over things. We both have our boundaries and we try to respect them. The next time you are over and something comes up , I would say that you don't want to …

I suspect the issue is less about your looks and more about your attitude. The way you have described yourself I wouldn't be interested in getting to know you as a friend .I would also assume men aren't attracted to this way of thinking. No matter how amazing your looks are,you still have to be able to carry a conversation to maintain a long term relationship. Knowing your faults is a very powerful tool and it is good to recognize areas for improvement. But assuming the only solution is plastic …

I am so sorry you are dealing with this, the whole situation sounds awful! I would put all your focus into finding a way to get out. I agree with everyone else that you shouldn't be trying to deal with angry men but if you have no choice there are things you can do. The most important thing is to have as little interaction as possible . It is harder to have conflict with someone you don't see. If you have to deal with him use as little emotion as possible. Angry people feed off the emotions of o…

Sorry about that, they were in paragraphs. I would go through and fix it now but since the OP deleted the post ,I don't feel like it is worth it to correct it.

Thank you for the heads up! I am so confused it was in paragraphs. I wouldn't be able to type this much out without breaking it into paragraphs or I would lose my place. I am mobile so I am not sure if that might have been the issue but it hasn't done it before. I usually don't check back after it posts if there is no activity. How strange ,I will make sure from now on to proof read after it posts as well.

I do think it is possible to have a clean house with a baby. The best way is to clean as you go ,if you have 5 mins start a load of dishes or fold a basket of laundry. Don't wait until you have time to finish something, get as much done as you can.Hours long cleaning marathons aren't going to happen anymore right now but you can still get things done just a little slower. I have found a baby carrier is a huge help and if your baby will use a swing you can put it close to you so you can work whil…

Is it just at work or in all situations? It is very common for coworkers to treat you like a friend or one of the guys. Especially if it is a fast paced situation, the "joking" may be a way to handle the stress or get through whatever you guys are doing. You mention the thinner new hire not being treated that way but it may have to do with him not being as comfortable with her. This is not to discourage you from improving yourself, that is always a good idea. But specifically at work it may be y…

I don't know how to post links on here but if you Google what is your body type ,it will pull up all kinds of info on how to determine your type. It is simple math and can be done visually or with a tape measure if you aren't sure.

Dressing is about balancing out the body so the general rule is tight bottom /loose top or tight top /loose bottom, regardless if it is a dress or pants. Obviously that doesn't take into consideration personal style or any specific issues you may want want to cover or accentuate. Usually A a-line skirts are the most flattering because they draw the eye to the waist and then flair out ,which creates an hour glass shape(depending on body type it may not be as obvious). But if you have a loose top …

That is great you recognize this is an issue. Understanding what is within your power to change is important, I have known far too many people who have spent too many years trying to change themselves enough to.fix someone elses problem and it just doesn't work. I absolutely agree on giving him patience and opportunity for growth, this behavior can be overcome as long as he recognizes it is an issue and is willing to put the work into changing it. I wish you all the best.

I think the ideas given on how to deal with narcissists is a really good idea. Even if she isn't a narcissist it is helpful to know how to handle difficult people in life. But the biggest problem I see is your partner. He seems to have issues standing up to her and if he won't nothing else matters. There is nothing you can do,even if you successfully establish boundries with her he won't. The fact that he actually gave the phone to you on her request shows whose comfort matters more and it wasn'…

I used to feel this way also. It isn't an issue now that I am older(40's). I would get embarrassed and not want to stand out. There were so many times I would get dressed, look in the mirror decide it was too nice and change into something that wouldn't stand out. I was so worried that people would think I was trying to show them up or wonder why I was dressed that way. Looking back it makes me sad when I think of all the wasted time. I spent so much time worrying about it and it was pointless. …

I love dresses for post partum . They are so great after the baby ,they hide extra weight and are much more forgiving as you lose weight than pants, no more pulling up pants. I make my dresses but you can find tons of them at thrift stores for cheap. Dresses are great because they look so put together (no worry about trying to find matching tops and bottoms) and you can add a belt and heels for dressing up or flip flops and a comfortable sweater for around the house.

I would say this is a true statement but looks doesn't necessarily mean naturally beautiful. Obviously that would be great but that doesn't mean you can't find someone like this without them. Looks could also mean someone who is very polished and put together. Knowing the best ways to overcome your faults and weaknesses is very effective. My husband and I know several couples where the wife is less of a natural beauty but puts the work in to be beautiful both inside and out. I understand how loo…

I saw a quote awhile ago (I am sorry I don't know who said it) ,it said "don't take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from". It doesn't sound like you want your parents marriage so why would you listen to their advice on what to do to achieve that? Find what you want for your life and follow the steps to get there.

You would be amazed how small changes can make a big difference. I wear 40's style dresses and coordinating accessories (earrings, jewelry, belts, shoes, ect), I also wear a head scarf in public (more vintage like with some hair showing, rather than a bandana or tichel style). I am early 40's and definitely not in the best shape but I always look put together. I have several friends who are much younger and much prettier (definitely much more sexually attractive)yet I usually am the one to get the…

I have gotten push back from family but when their objections didn't change my mind they stopped saying anything. I live in a rural area of the south and people are very accepting. I definitely see lots of resistance and anger to this on the larger/very busy subreddits. Awhile ago someone posted about enjoying greeting her husband when he got home with a drink and his slippers but it offended her DIL, who was living in her house (paraphrasing) and she was attacked on everything. I have found a f…
