1	Men opening doors is misogynistic apparently I was commenting on how antiquated the idea of not judging a book by its cover is. The covers of romance novels share enough traits that they can be easily distinguished from noir or horror. The use of specific sets of imagery is intended to get the book into the hands of the target audience. People tend to do the same in how they present themselves, even subconsciously. 1	Men opening doors is misogynistic apparently Before power assists and good balancing opening a door could be a hassle (weird to think of now). Doors would be "balanced" to swing toward the closed position.
