Why do you give a shit if a bunch of ignorant pieces of human garbage are belittling you? Clearly their opinions are stupid, and their belittling means literally nothing but that they have NO ARGUMENT. Had you went on the attack and held your ground, you would have easily come out on top. That is why I call you a coward. It's the definition of cowardice.

Clearly, women ARE in fact far superior to the bumbling idiot that posted the OP. Only a worthless fool would kneel at the feet of women and beg to be praised for being a doormat.

" I could not think of any counter-argument at the time " Really? Could you really not think of a counter argument to such a farcical and nonsense belief being relayed to you, or were you simply too much of a coward to stand up for yourself?

His self-description of being a "theocratic fascist" is a sarcastic quip meant to make fun of irrational people (generally leftists) who wrongfully attribute beliefs to him that he doesn't have.... Is it the most heinous violation? How about being sexually mutilated and tortured as an infant with no painkillers? I would think that's a far more serious violation of personal freedom than anything women have to deal with in our society.

They didn't appeal to authority, you moron. That would require them to reference an external source of authority. Clearly, they were drawing upon their own authority as somebody with knowledge and experience in the field. Also, you're a fucking idiot. Sexual assault ain't a joke you prick.

Hitler's nationalism was good for Germany, specifically, at the time. It was a catalyst that moved Germany forward into a relative prosperity for the country at a time that the German consciousness was still reeling from WWI. It ended in a terrible monstrosity, to be sure. Having an understanding of history helps you understand the context of the statement far more clearly.

None of those things that you stated make him right wing, in any sense. Every single thing you stated is an authoritarian act, not an act of the left or right. It's quite obvious you do not understand the political compass at ALL.

Why are there so many smug married men that like to take potshots and self-aggrandize about how amazing they and their relationships are any time a post about marriage comes up? Is it because you feel it in the back of your spine, the truthfulness of it all? Does it hit you in your subconscious, that deep seeded fear that maybe, just maybe, your relationship isn't as great as you make it out to be?

You're in that sweet spot, past the seven year itch, past the young age of children. You'll likely have a long and "successful" marriage. Let me give you a personal anecdote, to try to explain the problem many men have with marriage and women's behavior towards their significant others. My grandfather was married nearly 40 years to the same woman, his second wife. In the last 6 years of his life, he was battling lung cancer. Multiple rounds of chemotherapy, multiple ups and downs. Funny, the pay gap is almost exactly equal to the hours worked gap. 44/56 = 0.786. So, women work 0.786 hours for every 1 hours a man works, and earn 0.77 cents for every 1 dollar a man earns. Math is hard, guys.

I have a pretty extreme aversion to certain kinds of sounds. It doesn't have anything to do with cognitive issues, though. It's a side effect of introversion - my sensitivity to external stimuli is especially strong and quickly overwhelms me. Loud and sudden sounds are the worst. Oddly enough, working in continually loud environments doesn't bother me. It's being in quiet/moderate volume spaces and hearing loud and sudden sounds that does.

You know what sickens me more about this? That the movement to ban circumcision required 50,000 votes to bring the law to consideration, and the Health Minister writes a letter to the Rabbi ensuring him that it will not happen. There are between 7,000 and 9,000 Jews in Denmark, out of a population of 5.5 million, and they won't even consider banning the practice when they received 50,000 signatures for the bill. 5-7x more people signed that document than there are Jews in the whole country.

A few others have already said it, but I'm exactly like you. Very little desire for interaction. I've found the only thing that helps is putting intention into getting interested in people. Happiness isn't even really what you should be chasing. Happiness is fleeting, just as sadness is. You should be seeking contentment in the moment. Contentment does not rely on externalities or circumstance, it is an internally based state you create through practice (meditative practice helps). It's easy for people to blindly accept these stereotypes until they (the beliefs) are brought into question. For some reason, naming the emotion and the basic reason behind it helps you to move past it. A lot of men suffer from the inability to recognize certain emotional responses within themselves, called alexithymia, and this method allows you to deal with your emotion in a more "male" manner, logically. Interestingly enough, there is evidence that men who experience circumcision as neonates are significantly predisposed to alexithymia due to the trauma experience during the surgery. I personally ha…

"Teach men not to rape" originally began as an effort to educate young people about consent. No it didn't. From the very beginning it was condescending. Men don't need to be taught not to rape, just like women don't need to be taught not to kill their babies. Some people are just sick, okay? Not many moderate clear thinking people use it anymore. She didn't really realize what men go through as constantly being labeled potential pedophis. Interesting, considering she just labeled a man a pedophile for no reason. What you're saying is that your wife doesn't have inherent empathy for men. She has to be taught empathy for men. That's not a good thing. I think this is why so many people are commenting in a negative light. Just keep your eyes open I guess.

Start here. My mother was narcissistic mainly in the self obsessed fashion and with not very much in the way of anger or rage outbursts. She was rarely supportive or interested in my life, only really coming into play to correct issues. If I was getting a B in class (she had super high expectations for me, living vicariously through me) it was a huge deal and I was in trouble for it. You live in the moment through practice and consistent effort, just like literally everything else in life you have ever experienced. Whenever you NOTICE yourself not living in the moment, feeling anxious, feeling depressed, you need to NAME (literally in your head, call it what it is - anger, fear, etc) the feeling, ask yourself why you are experiencing that feeling and try to come to the core of it. We ought to be completely neutral, and suggest that the accuser (not the victim) go to the police and have their case investigated, and if their story has merit, it should be dealt with in a court of law. We should not assume that the story is true or false. We can be sensitive to people's needs without deciding guilt one way or the other. That is our only responsibility.

Bullshit. You don't need success to have an abundance mentality. That's the whole point - adopting the mentality intentionally when you don't believe you already have abundance. The key to changing your mindset about abundance is to compare your state of living in the modern world to the life a human 100,000 years ago would have lived. This is an ancient truth that all the great men of wisdom have known - the root of suffering is attachment. In order to live a life of contentment, you must practice non-attachment. Too many people chase and cling to happiness, and flee from negative experiences. This does not lead one to a place of acceptance in life, as you are constantly shifting from emotion to emotion, chasing that high. If you have a hard time controlling your emotions when they arise (especially negative ones), here is a …
