As an interesting aside to this discussion, I know an entire department [and their ancillaries] of behavioral psychologists who believe this kind of stuff religiously. Even the females who are ardent feminists concede they believe it's scientifically sound.

I'm stubborn. I guess it's frustrating because every time I go there to have a discussion, discussion quickly turns into people not listening to what I'm saying. It seems to feed into this unfortunate stereo type of women being irrational. It seems that the feminists in the group are making themselves out to be exactly what they claim to not be.

I'm new to posting, i've only begun really doing so over the past couple of weeks, even though I've crept around reddit for years. I didn't realize that's what I was doing, or that I even was. Eh, I hate you got downvoted. I understand that snap judgment. It's easy enough to relate to that point of view, regardless of why an individual experiences that feeling of, "ew, creep" I'd react similarly if my niece asked that of me while I was looking after her.

That alone makes me sad to the point of tears. Tonight I was hanging out with my girlfriend and an old buddy of her's. A random fellow walked up to us as we stood in the parking lot and inquired if we had a screw driver (he was having car trouble). Well, I've had an abundance of friends and family who have become teachers, many of which are male. To my knowledge, only one "incident" comes to mind, but it wasn't one of an inherently sexual nature or involving a student.
