I'm on Hinge, which I've had more success on than Bumble and Tinder
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 07:55 PM

Welp at least I can assume my suspicions are confirmed. Life sucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 05:36 PM

3 convos, all ghosted. None long. Shouldn't matter how many convos, though? Since the length of the convo matters more than the number.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 05:17 PM

I sent a msg asking one of the girls out for coffee. Unseen, no response. And these convos weren't extensive. Max of like 6 messages each.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 05:13 PM

So I keep having this problem on dating apps. I'll match with a girl and the convo will go super well for a day. Asking questions, clearly showing interest in each other. And then the next day the convo just ends. I send a message, never gets seen or responded to. Are these girls just matching with a hotter guy and ignoring my messages after a day even if the convo is going well?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 04:59 PM

Does not seem to be there. I've found gaming-centric ones and one for the band Chicago (who suck), but nothing just for people in chicago.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 05:00 PM

There doesn't seem to be a good Chicago discord.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 04:35 PM

I will!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 04:35 PM

Lol the problem is that I am having a trouble and I can't advertise on the Chicago subreddit (I tried).
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 04:34 PM

The artist is Taylor Swift, which means a lot of 30 y/o white women and gay guys on the reddit/discord servers. Maybe instagram would work? Will have to do some searching. Should I try a dating sub instead?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 03:56 PM

Do any of you have any other suggestions for finding a date to a concert? Tried a few reddit pages, trying dating apps. Do people my age use Facebook?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/23 02:58 PM

Desire is the desire of the Other
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 07:24 PM

I'm trying the Chicago sub. Might get banned cus they don't allow selling tickets, which it technically isn't, but you never know.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 07:10 PM

I live in the middle of nowhere and need a date to a concert 😔
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:33 PM

I just skip past the single moms, fatties, and drug addicts, which generally leaves college girls with better options. Being a slightly above average, but not exceptional man is tough.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:28 PM

Lol I’ve read corporate communications written by ChatGPT and they suck.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:13 PM

It’s true, but also not an excuse since your actions are your choice regardless of another’s actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:13 PM

Half the Bumble profiles I see say ‘dm me on insta’ or ‘my snap is’. Girls are so allergic to making the first move my god.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 06:12 PM
3

ChatGPT will never replace real writers in any setting
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 05:03 PM

Lmao what? No. I write my own essays like a decent person.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:54 PM

What is a large language model? Are you trying to recruit to an MLM?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:51 PM

Much of it is, but there are some great sites for male-focused erotica that I've found with some really good writers and series. I really enjoy it.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:50 PM

Me in particular or the school? I'm an English major and the school is known as a writing school. Some notable writers went here.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:47 PM

I've gotten this responses from a (now ex) girlfriend. She really liked that I enjoyed erotica as opposed to porn.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:46 PM

I feel like a lot of dating is precisely figuring out whether or not you would marry someone. It's not something you know right off the bat. But if you're saying you know right off the bat you wouldn't marry that person, it depends on how seriously she's taking it and how long I've gone without sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:44 PM

There's an actual low-functioning autistic person in one of my classes and frankly, she shouldn't be here. She distracts other students by blurting out in class and making digressions and our professor has to shut her up frequently. I feel bad cus it's not really her fault, but why give her this great education which she can't use or appreciate when another functional student could have her spot? Other students who claim to have these problems are just exaggerating to feel special.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:42 PM

Q4W: How do you feel about guys reading erotica? Is it the same as watching porn to you? Is it too feminine a hobby?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:41 PM
1

Agreed. I think there's an obsession with the way to approach women, when the reality is that so much of it is improvisation because women and social contexts vary so greatly. My one and only hookup was entirely spontaneous and unexpected. I just had to feel things out.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:39 PM
1

-Weight -Age -Job If I can pick the job, that fixes a lot of things for me. I don't necessarily need someone with no mental issues (I have depression), but if I pick someone in a professional field, they would have to be functional enough to work within that field. The other two are just looks-based.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:38 PM

Some people from my school have such victim complexes about minor things. Like "oh no I have high-functioning autism and ADHD I'm basically non-functional" like bitch you go to one of the best liberal arts schools in the country. If you couldn't function, you wouldn't be here. Calm down.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:35 PM

Lmao. I don't get why anyone male or female watches this shit. It's so non-representative of the dating population. This was funny.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/23 04:31 PM
6

What's your suggestion? Don't ask out women?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 09:58 PM
3

It's generally not, but it's too short for the girls who demand 6'+ guys in their dating app bios
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 09:31 PM
1

Yeah I’m gonna give it the evening (one of the people matched with me at like 1 last night) and maybe message both tmrw sometime
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 09:13 PM
1

I already sent responses. Only question is whether or not to double text after a day or so.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 09:03 PM
1

Now they put "we can see if you're lying about your height" in the bios. They've thought of everything!
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:49 PM
2

I get that, though one of my friends is tall and she told me she doesn't care cus she's used to being taller than most guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:49 PM
0

I do have two tickets to Taylor Swift and I need someone to go with
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:48 PM
1

I'm probably hyperfocusing on people I probably wouldn't like anyways, but it's still pretty demoralizing to see people exclude you a priori over something you have no control over. It's less about me and more about the knowledge that they can have that preference and I can't have a similar preference, at least not explicitly.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:48 PM
1

I still get matches, but I scroll past the profiles that put that they want a 6' guy
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:46 PM
1

To some people. To others, it matters quite a bit apparently.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:45 PM
1

Then I assume women think I'm not putting my height in cus I'm short. Am I giving them too much credit?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:45 PM
2

Yeah and I'm in college and one of these girls is pre-law at UChicago. I imagine finals is pretty ass-kicking there. I think two days is reasonable. Sometimes I'll get matches from people I swiped on a week or two ago based on how often they use the app.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:43 PM
1

Just under 5'9
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:39 PM
2

Man, women do really care about height on dating apps. Such a fucking bummer.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:37 PM
3

Why do people give such a shit about a person who has such little influence on anything. Let him be his weird autistic misogynistic self. Who cares.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:21 PM
2

Matched w/ another girl based on a movie we both like. Sent both girls I matched with messages. No responses yet, but I'm gonna give it a day. How long do you think is reasonable to wait for a response before calling a match a lost cause?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 08:17 PM
0

You’re conflating party with ideology. Republicanism is a party stance. Conservatism is an ideology, which is very much part of your personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 07:32 PM
1

Honestly, way hotter than doing weed, but I don't wanna pay for it
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 06:08 PM
0

Ok that makes more sense
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 06:04 PM
3

Should be an option. Big difference between libertarian and conservative. Maybe they should also have a 'leftist' option so I can filter between the center-lefts and the crazies.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:57 PM
1

Most young conservatives in general are not real conservatives.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:52 PM
2

Another dating app (Hinge) observation: Why do they have options for drinking, cigs, and weed for 'yes', 'no', and 'sometimes'? Isn't it binary? Either you do or you don't. Or if you're gonna put sometimes, be like Bumble and have the other options be 'never' and 'regularly'.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:52 PM
1

I don't think most young people are thinking about it that hard
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:50 PM
1

Conservative women on dating apps are not actually conservative. They just want hot blue collar men or men who will pay for everything. If you claim to be conservative, but drink underage or smoke weed, you're not a real conservative. You're just an opportunist.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 05:46 PM

Wouldn’t be the worst date I’ve been on tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 03:22 PM

I did lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 01:57 PM

Just matched with an attractive UChicago girl who likes Taylor Swift and sent the first message. It’s all falling into place…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 01:40 PM
1

Man you and your fat chicks thing. We have different tastes. Move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 08:02 PM
2

Turns out my distance was set really low. Upped it so I get the hot Chicago girls now.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 07:44 PM
1

Nah it’s actually a pretty wealthy area, just in the midwest
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 07:40 PM
1

Why do you talk like this
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 07:35 PM
1

Man, Hinge is such a wasteland. Once you get past the fat chicks, drug addicts, and single moms there are like ten decent girls on there.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 07:27 PM

This is why I just bit the bullet and began identifying as conservative like a year ago
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 06:34 PM

It not universal, but generally men like then women with certain feminine features and symmetrical faces.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 06:34 PM
2

I think it's very different for men and women. Yes, women do face those things, but there's a reason that the loneliness epidemic has largely been a male phenomenon. They face it with more frequency and larger numbers. Also, what would you say to a woman who is having dating problems?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 06:32 PM
24

Getting gently rejected by a girl I think is cute or being set up with a girl I think is ugly generally makes me feel worse
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 06:29 PM
1

And other people should and face no consequences for being irresponsible?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 05:20 PM

I am always assumed to be a freshman at my college. Always.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 05:08 PM
1

The point is not to promote unwanted babies, but to diminish casual, unprotected, hedonistic sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 05:08 PM

Those are all rare cases. And there are plenty of dual custody parents if the relationship falls apart. The majority of abortions are from irresponsible decisions and now people get a get-out-of-jail free card for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 04:26 PM

Kinda, yeah. But I'd gladly date within my own age group if it were an option in college, which it isn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 04:23 PM

I ask cus I've been with 3 girls, one the same age, one 2 years younger, and one 4 years older. Most recent was the 4 years older one.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 04:21 PM

*not having promiscuous, unprotected sex when you can't provide for a child is personal responsibility. We forget that in 99% of cases sex is a choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 04:19 PM

Hm. As a big personal responsibility person, I am anti-abortion excepting cases of rape and danger to the mother.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:59 PM

Do they tend to be older? (As in like mid-20s girls seeking out early-20s guys?)
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:58 PM

What's your take on abortion, then?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:55 PM

The reason I care so much about small age gaps (1-3 years) is cus I'm 20 and have a baby face, which makes it very hard to date at my age. My only consolation is hoping I'll be able to sleep with hot college girls in my 30s.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:47 PM

I know I'm just prejudiced cus I'm 20 and have a baby face
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:42 PM

It's funny cus I actually agree with her on several takes (wage gap discourse, boys in schools)
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:34 PM

I've never heard/seen that before, but I guess I'm not super steeped in RP places
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:25 PM

Isn't it generally agreed upon that generalizations are not absolutes?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:23 PM

I have a theory that women do like guys taller than them, but the 6' thing is only about status. Women just want to show off they have a guy who's not just taller than them, but taller than most men, too. Desire is the desire of the Other.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 03:19 PM
1

Wouldn’t abuse and cheating fall under fault divorce?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 01:53 PM
3

Does anyone believe we live in a socially fair world?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 11:07 PM
8

My favorite law of online dating: if the first picture is a group photo, the profile is the one of the ugliest girl in the photo
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 10:53 PM
4

I mean yeah I’m jealous but I’m still gonna judge them
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 09:39 PM
1

I don't consider freshmen and seniors peers, but that may just be me
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 08:10 PM
1

That’s when I find they are. Freshmen love dating upperclasmen at my college.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 08:06 PM

I don't think refusal to date rural midwestern hicks excludes me from being an intellectual
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:54 PM
2

I just don't get why nobody asks the reverse question. Why are younger women so attracted to older men?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:51 PM
1

I definitely hear you. My best professor waited til his 40s to get his PhD after being in the corporate world for years.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:51 PM

It is for me
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:50 PM

I think there's correlation between intellectual interests and having a college degree
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:47 PM
1

Hmm. Why is PhD a red flag? Not a fan of professors?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:36 PM
1

I mean sure if they’re like Cormac McCarthy who’s read everything under the sun without a bachelor’s but people with those intellectual interests and no degree are pretty rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:35 PM
1

Not a fan of drugs, but hey, different strokes
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:29 PM
1

How important? Are we talking graduate school? PhD?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:29 PM
1

Same here.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:28 PM
2

Wow you must be in different circles than me. The rural midwest is just a lot of hicks lol
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:23 PM
1

That makes sense. Would you require a graduate degree on top of undergraduate? Does the discipline matter?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:22 PM
2

I mean the former two things. Someone who can be financially independent and someone who leans intellectually (at least for me). I get those aren't mutually inclusive with higher education, but there is correlation there.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:22 PM
1

How many people do you meet who don't have a college degree, but are extremely intelligent?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:17 PM
1

Yeah I'm in the same boat. When I was raised, it was just an expectation that me and my siblings went to college. It kinda goes along with having similar values.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:16 PM
1

Absolutely. I agree. Not everyone who has a degree is smart, but I think it's gonna be harder to find smart people without a degree. Obviously, they exist, but they'll probably be harder to find. Lotsa dumb people without degrees, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:15 PM
3

I'm pretty well-educated. Not absurdly well, but also my interests tend to be of the intellectual variety. I like long, difficult books, foreign films, and philosophy/theory. I don't need an SO to share those interests, but I would like my SO to at least be interested in having a conversation about them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:14 PM
3

Alright since it came up recently in the last thread: how important is education level for you in dating? For me it’s pretty important.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 06:09 PM
1

Small school, not a lot of options
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:29 PM

My school is very small. Not a lot of options.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:22 PM
1

Yup. OLD it is. Hoping my TSwift tickets can draw a cute blonde girl from Chicago in.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:18 PM
2

Probably, but have you ever considered that I like talking to people?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:17 PM

There's a whole culture of SLAS (Small Liberal Arts Schools). The main thing that eliminates the Ivies is size. They're too big.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:16 PM
1

*alumna and I'd love to, but it's pretty hard when you're at home for the summer
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:14 PM

I'm 20 I'm a great conversationalist. Talked to a girl for five hours before hooking up with her last week.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:11 PM

Is "attractive enough to sleep with a girl without talking to her at all" your bar for average?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:10 PM

Can't get that far w/o a convo though
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:08 PM

That's fine. I'm talking about girls who are not in college who are college aged or have never been to college.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:07 PM

It's known as a "little Ivy" There aren't many small liberal arts Ivies. Basically just Dartmouth.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 05:07 PM

I go to an elite liberal arts college and want to have interesting conversations with the girls I date
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 04:49 PM

I’m in college and I mean girls who are not in college at all. I go to a fairly elite liberal arts college and I’ve gone out with girls who go to community colleges.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 04:47 PM

I consider myself an above average man and the apps have been hell for me. It’s like this -thin -in college -has similar values Pick two. That’s every girl.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 04:42 PM
1

That is exceptionally rare nowadays
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 01:57 PM
1

Wow my parents did all that AND both had jobs. Being a SAHM is not equivalent to a full-time job.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 01:52 PM
0

This is why I kinda resent the whole “being a SAHM is a real job!” Bullshit. It is for a while but then kids go to school and moms just watch daytime tv all day.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 01:20 PM

Fat = not thin
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 01:17 PM
2

Everything is subjective and no one understands each other, at least according to Wittgenstein
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:56 PM
1

Hey I, as an adult male, love Taylor Swift. Can't imagine listening to folklore and not loving it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:25 PM
2

Your political compass must be wild
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:24 PM
0

Shame most women my age do not think like this
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:24 PM
1

This is mixed between memes about Four Tet dropping "Country Riddim" at Coachella and videos of Taylor Swift at the Eras Tour (seeing her in Chicago and still don't have a girl to go with)
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:23 PM
-1

Ok I've done enough defending of feminist positions today. I am so tired of seeing trend on TikTok of women posting about "princess treatment" and guys having a "provider mindset". I hope all their bfs leave them when they hit the wall and they end up as cashiers and sales workers selling off the designer clothes their old bf bought them.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:19 PM
1

Yeah I've definitely faced that in the lit classes I've taken
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:10 PM
1

Yeah the social sciences definitely have issues, but IMO they're more ideological than pedagogical.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:08 PM
1

I go to a pretty good US liberal arts college where nearly every professor has an Ivy League education and is excellent. It's awesome.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 07:04 PM
1

I do see your point about attendance and education (good god I wish I could skip the classes with the professor I hate). Maybe I lucked out and go to a university where I study things I'm interested in and where the majority of professors are very smart and very good at teaching.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:58 PM
1

Cus you should go to school to learn? IMO it's disrespectful to professors who put effort into teaching you to just blow off their classes.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:57 PM
2

Yup. I am forever grateful my parents made me do my homework and study against my will. I would have been a shit student going to a shit university had my parents not intervened.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:44 PM
1

All my professors require attendance, which I think is fair. I have a shitty professor I don't like. Oh well. I deal with it. Granted, I think your individual professor matters more in the humanities, which is where I am, plus I go to a decently prestigious school.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:43 PM
2

It's really hard to teach high-concept math theory to high schoolers. Imagine trying to explain Godel to a bunch of 16 year olds. Plus, you do just need the basics. Sometimes work is just work. You can explain that stuff, but it won't make calculus interesting to everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:41 PM
4

Oh well. Don't be fat then lol. Plenty of fat guys to date who aren't me, since I'm not fat.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:39 PM
2

Discipline doesn't automatically equal severe punishment. IMO the explanation and stopping of the behavior is the discipline. If it continues, you explain it again and possibly have a punishment.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:37 PM
3

Well I'm thin and uninterested in dating women who aren't (and have dated exclusively women who are thin) so
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:36 PM
1

Well, it sucks, but creativity and independent work don't pay. It's nice to have those things and encourage them which is why we have music lessons and art classes and drama programs, but that's not what the education system is for. Sounds like you went to a shit university. Your belief that a service isn't good enough doesn't make it true. At the university level, yes, there are some shitty professors, but the university system isn't broken (in most regards).
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:35 PM

Where are public schools teaching untrue things? How is the authority wrong?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:33 PM
2

Sure, but it won't always be.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:33 PM

I don't believe everyone has inherent motivation. I certainly wasn't motivated to learn calculus and it wasn't cus the teaching was boring. It's cus calculus is difficult and boring and sometimes you just gotta force your way through difficult things.

Hinge is like 90% fatties for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:18 PM

And sometimes learning is boring. Kids need to suck it up and deal with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:17 PM

Obedience is listening to authority and obeying directions.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:17 PM
2

What exactly are teachers and students doing besides telling kids to behave? Also don’t skip lessons in uni lol. Where is this requirement that teachers put on a song and dance to be good enough coming from?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:14 PM
1

Class isn’t for happiness or stimulation. It’s for learning.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 06:01 PM
3

Absolutely. Sometimes education is boring. Life is very often boring. Gotta do it to become a good citizen.

I am a big personal responsibility advocate
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 05:58 PM

You should read some pedagogy texts. Banking style education is not great, but problem-posing education is very useful (and this requires some banking education). Obedience is required for both of these.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 05:58 PM
2

I tend to side with the pro-men takes on this sub, but I do not understand this support of disobedient boys in the classroom. Schools are for obedience and learning. They are not oppressive.

When I show up to the dining hall
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 05:16 PM

Your example sounds like you just getting off topic in class. Learning isn't just for you, you know. Generally obedience is good. There are exceptions, but the school system is not oppressing boys and there's no need to rebel.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 05:14 PM

Tbf I go to a very good college and do actually learn things, so ya know
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 05:14 PM
1

Sometimes school is boring. Sucks. Sit down and learn so you can be a good citizen lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 05:13 PM
1

Then they shouldn’t be in college or we just funnel them into bullshit degree mill state schools
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 04:56 PM
2

Yeah but those scientists went through the education system, were super geniuses, and rebelled when they were genuinely smarter than the competition. You really think that’s the case for teenage boys?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 04:56 PM
1

In all contexts? There has to be an oppressive system to rebel against. If the system isn’t oppressive, it’s not a rebellion.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 04:46 PM
1

I don’t think men goofing off in class is the same as challenging an oppressive regime. It just distracts people who might actually want to learn.

College is a choice. If women are choosing to go to college more than men, then more women will be in college.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 03:49 PM
1

If they aren't, they should be and I don't believe that school "causes misbehavior". Some people are just unruly and need to be taught that's not ok.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 03:49 PM

On the education of boys: education is not anti-boy and we need better discipline overall in schools. They're places of learning and people should not be allowed to distract those who actually care about learning.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 03:29 PM

The crux of feminism’s issue right here. They want men to remain dominant while also being equal. It doesn’t work.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 01:49 PM

I think we need to differentiate between average and standards. The average woman is overweight, but if you are not overweight I see no reason why you should date an overweight woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 12:13 PM

Weren’t you the one who said Keanu Reeves was average?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 12:03 PM

This is probably the best case I've seen on this sub for a rational two-party system and why we need both parties to even the other out.

Yes But not all majors are equal in that respect
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/23 01:13 AM

Can’t wait to discuss the importance of Roland Barthes and the development of postmodernism with all those comms majors!
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 11:07 PM

Oh yeah fun to sleep with. Absolute hell to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 11:04 PM
1

I’m not arguing against communications as a field! I think it’s great and useful. Just that undergraduate programs in comms are far inferior to getting a degree in english and going into the same field.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 11:00 PM
0

This is so incredibly vague. Like, are they studying Marshall McLuhan? Learning photoshop? Reading communications-related legal studies? This just sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo that means 'making powerpoints and other related stuff'.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:44 PM

I have clinical depression, but I handle my shit like a normal person. Neither of the girls I’ve been with have. I’d rather die than be a psychologist. I’m a big fan of the “figure your own shit out and don’t make it other peoples’ problem” method of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:32 PM

What if all the women I attract have severe mental issues while I don’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:26 PM
1

Then answer my question. What do communications majors learn then?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:20 PM
1

Answer my question. Am I wrong about what they learn? Let’s establish I’m wrong first then question my methods.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:18 PM
2

I really don’t understand where you’re getting this from. I thought the thesis was “men should go to therapy”. I don’t think men here are looking for help exactly. This isn’t a place for help. It’s a place for discussion. How do you suggest we solve men’s problems if therapy doesn’t work and you’re tired of men complaining?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:16 PM
3

It’s nice to have another perspective on my life that isn’t from a friend or family, but ultimately a therapist has never helped me with anything more substantial than administrative stuff
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:00 PM
2

Have you ever considered that womens’ problems are just easier to solve? How is a therapist supposed to help a guy become happier? I’ve been in therapy for years now and while I appreciate what it can do, most of my current happiness comes from my own actions with no advisement from my therapist.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 09:49 PM
2

What do they learn if not how to make powerpoints and shit like that?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 09:43 PM
1

Nah English, but working in comms
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 09:10 PM
2

Yeah but that's easy and takes very little university training. Most of what you learn for that is gonna be at work.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 08:48 PM
1

Depends on the school and the program. I love my college and learn a lot, but it's about useless things that I find interesting. Take from that what you will.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 08:44 PM
2

You don't learn jack shit you can't figure out yourself in a communications undergrad program. Be an English major instead. That way you learn interesting things and become a more interesting person while also being hirable for a job where all you do is send emails and edit powerpoints.

Read/watch/listen to/generally enjoy things that have a reputation for being enjoyed by misogynists or just pretentious douchebag men.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 05:25 PM

I would never marry someone who didn’t work, even if I made a significant amount of money so this would never happen to me
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 02:34 PM

What’s funny is that men still get better jobs after graduating since women tend to major in lower-paying fields.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 02:33 PM

I went to therapy for years and still go. It isn’t even really a gender thing. It’s just hard to find a good therapist and even then it’s not a fix-all. My depression didn’t improve til my situation changed. It had very little to do with therapy.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 02:29 PM

I didn’t really have any problems with my schooling. I’m more concerned about the increased feminization of the university at the expense of fundamental skills and knowledge.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 02:28 PM
4

... and what changes those?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:52 AM

I mean, for me it's the reason. I find some women hot and annoying and I'd sleep with them not date them. If that's not the reason for women, what is the reason then?

What were the differences between the two groups of guys?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:37 AM

Wdym by highest rates of gender equality? Hookup culture fucking rules Yes I love a culture that encourages promiscuity and hedonism, devalues sex, and benefits a select group of people who engage in poor decision making.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:35 AM
5

? It happens all the time. It's exactly how one-night stands work. 'I think you're hot, you think I'm hot, let's fuck.'
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:34 AM
2

But there’s a difference, right? I wouldn’t marry every girl I’d have a one-night stand with and I’m sure the same is true for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:32 AM
3

Because it doesn’t depend on your attraction. It depends on theirs. The lack of your attraction is what makes them friendzoned.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:31 AM
6

Lmao what. The Hollywood actor is average? Jesus it’s a tough crowd out here.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:30 AM

It depends. It can be pretty shitty to know a girl you’re seeing let a guy hit on the first date just cus he was hot when it is 100% possible to have sex on the first date AND have a continuing relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 01:29 AM
6

I think they’re saying that if women can want to fuck alphas and date betas, men are justified in wanting to fuck sluts and marry virgins. Makes sense to me.

Can I add septum piercings to this? Never seen them make a woman look better.

I only have notes for propositions one and three Religion would solve the problems we currently face, but comes with other ones, namely patriarchy and religion-centered power structures. So, I’d say rather than religion, what we need is some of religion’s social conservatism without the actual faith attached. Those men and those women don’t exist. No one will ever find the perfect man or woman who’s the right kind of nice mixed with the right kind of mean. So mostly women go to the latter cus th…

Maybe I’m misunderstanding pumping and dumping? I thought that was just men fucking a lot of women. I don’t see where lying comes in.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 10:44 PM
3

So is a man pumping and dumping also part of maturing and he gets a free pass in his early 20s?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 10:20 PM
2

The statistic that always proves this to me is that after the pill became commercially available, abortion rates actually went up instead of down cus women saw it as a way to be as promiscuous as they wanted. Basically my take is that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare as in only in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother (the third is always legal).
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 10:19 PM
3

I feel like generally the problem is not with women vetting men, but rather women who gave it up easy in the past all of a sudden vetting men. That's definitely a hypocrisy (usually based on attractiveness).
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 09:45 PM
2

The rational take is to see abortion as an unfortunate necessity for cases of rape or incest, not a great symbol of empowerment.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 09:43 PM
3

Should they not? Bad decisions should have consequences. Making poor sexual choices shouldn't have a get-out-of-jail free card. And the man isn't off the hook either.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 09:41 PM

Yeah kinda lucky since I go to a small college and if she went here I’d see her all the time which would be awkward af
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 08:19 PM

No. I gave her my number, but she lives far away and indicated she wanted it to be a one-time thing. It’s not exactly a bad feeling. It just kinda forces you to encounter the fleeting nature of intense emotions and connections, which is very strange and disconcerting.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 07:41 PM
2

For me, it helped that we talked for like 3 hours before hooking up so it didn’t feel like hooking up with a complete stranger
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 07:09 PM
2

I mean I was going on not having any action my entire time at college, so I wasn’t going to say no to a cute girl wanting to hook up, but yeah it’s definitely a weird feeling
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 06:57 PM
6

Had my first ever hookup after a three year dry spell on Monday and have conflicting feelings about it. On one hand, I really enjoyed it. Liked the girl, had fun, was a big confidence booster. On the other, it's a very strange feeling to meet someone and within a few hours be very intimate with them and then have no contact with them afterwards. I don't regret, but I can't imagine doing it with any regularity. I'd feel so empty inside if I did this over and over again, god forbid every weekend l…

Michigan has its fair share of fatties, but there are enough suburbanites in their summer homes to balance it out
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/23 05:02 PM

Dating apps in Ohio are pretty bad. A solid 40% of the college-aged women aren't in college and more than half are overweight. I need to go back to southwest Michigan cus all the Michigan and Chicago girls are on the apps there. Edit: Or they're Ohio State sluts
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/23 04:56 PM

That sucks. Ghosting like that is pretty rude. It's easy to send a nice letdown text like "I'm sorry, but I don't think we really clicked" or "I'm not looking for a relationship". Could just be lies meaning "I'm not attracted to you", but it's better than radio silence.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/23 04:52 PM
1

Except most don't lol. Men still vastly out-earn women because women don't actually want the harder, higher-paying jobs they campaigned to get.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/23 03:49 PM
0

It has to do with freedom cus women have been campaigning for the freedom to go to school and earn as much as men. Now that they have that freedom they realized working an easier job and having a man do the harder stuff is better for them actually.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/23 03:31 PM

My problem with feminism is moreso that it is riddled with contradictions, namely that the status quo hasn’t actually changed. Women still want their lifestyles paid for by men who make more than them. So while they are given that freedom, they don’t actually take it. What had changed is that now they can sleep with whoever and face few consequences.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/23 03:06 PM

That's too general. Many do. Many don't. You can't deny it isn't a trend, especially considering women almost never date younger. 3-7 years is a pretty normal amount in society, even if it isn't the average.

After three long years and almost the entirety of college, I had a pseudo-hookup last night. Met a cute girl at my school. Turns out she was an alum visiting some of her old professors and teaching a ballroom dance class. Went to the ballroom dance class (I have a friend who does ballroom dancing, so I’d been meaning to go to a class anyways). We danced together. Ended up walking around campus late at night for an hour or so afterwards. Invited her to my dorm. We made out, undressed, and cuddled…
