These are not mistakes, these are just instincts. When you leave people to themselves with no strings attached, they act in their self-interest. If they are young and hot, why wouldn't they ride the carousel? Similarly, if colleges are showering them with grants and scholarships, and employers are forced to hire them to avoid lawsuits, why wouldn't they pursue education and careers? People respond to incentives, it's that simple. Women won't change their behavior unless men change the system.

IMO at the core of it is male dominance and power. You'd notice women have an in-group preference - gender pay gap or sexual harassment does not affect a single woman, it affects all of them, so it's easy for them to unite as a collective. When a man is disadvantaged, screw him, that's his problem; matter of fact, that means less competition for me. Men are very individualistic and competitive, that's why no one cares about men's issues. We are disposable by design.
