I did read the entirety of the New Testament, but I haven't quite finished the Old Testament yet. Not that I'm missing chronological details, but there are parts of it which are purely historical in nature from a practical stand point, so I skipped those.

Thank you very much, I'll keep your words in mind! Being analytical and somewhat rational in the awareness of my own faith (whatever it may actually be at the end of the day) often feels like the only means I have at my disposal to counteract the emotional chaos I experience on a daily basis, more or less. This is also reflected in how I approach the rest of the world, as my trust issues are pretty much generalised. Still, I'm aware that it's one of the key problems, if not THE key problem, I ha…

Thank you for your feedback! I'll make sure to take you up on your book recommendation, too.

Thank you for these suggestions! Writing down my unequivocal beliefs seems like a really good starting point for a constructive new reexamination of my faith... in fact, it's not at all unlike various other written psychotherapy assignments that I've been doing for the past few years, so that's already helpful.

If that's a sidebar that should be revered even here, then Redpill isn't compatible with Christianity after all, no matter how you try to justify it... or at least it comes together wrong in your personal case. Come to think of it, I came here wanting to gather wisdom on keeping my own morals Christian through partner choices and other facets of dating. I actually wouldn't mind if I found a woman who doesn't necessarily identify as a Christian, as long as she's faithful, she only accepts having …

Thank you for your words, they fill me with hope that everything is going to be alright eventually. I'll make sure to check those links out!

So, have you read the article I sent, or...? Also, who made YOU the gatekeeper, you who proclaim saints to be clowns and show no compassion towards people who have problems, instead only judging them for their imperfections and acting like a partisan? Since when has being Christ-like become a basis for a lack of kindness? I'd like to think that a stranger popping up on the Internet doesn't deserve any hostility under the guise of righteous anger, but how can I know that it's not what's happening…

Okay, fair enough and very well-put! 🙂 I think my largest issue is that I'm still afraid that I might be wasting my efforts on a promise that I personally might not be around to partake in when the time comes for it to be fulfilled. Like, what if I'm courageous and it results in me dying sooner, and then I realise I should've been more careful and lived longer, so that I could achieve a greater degree of growth in this life? On the other hand, I think I need death to be some kind of eternal obli…

Thank you for your suggestions, but aside from the fact that I've already read all that you've suggested to me... are you saying that there isn't a conceivable alternate belief system that is both worth exploring and includes at least some of the values which hold merit both in Christianity and outside of it? It's easy to fall into the trap of hanging all the meaning (or lack thereof) on the only metaphysics that seem personally correct to you, but please consider the idea of partial truths exis…

Two things: Maybe secular society has no reason to retain Christian values, but secular (or otherwise non-Christian) individuals within it might have some reasons after all. Maybe being firmly and unwaveringly monogamous is inherently good beyond just Christianity (like in the anti-polygamy argument I've given in the OP)? Maybe those values do not necessarily belong only to the Judeo-Christian understanding of the world, and maybe they're as valid in other cosmologies, whichever one of them ulti…

Thank you for your comprehensive reply! As far as learning about the faith is concerned, I can assure you that what I learned through the Scripture is the same as what you learned through that exact same Scripture. That isn't the issue I'm having here by any means. I'm well-acquainted with the Corinthians passages you highlighted, as well as the writings of St. John Chrysostom, in some of which he writes of the changed behaviour of a RIDICULOUSLY high number of people as the ultimate evidence of…

160cm tall (which is not a lot in these lands), 67kg, not really sure about my BMI. Lifting kinda disabled as a comprehensive option, since I've had two hernia surgeries. That's about it as far as fitness is concerned... although I don't see how it'd be the key problem in all of this (even with my finances about to get better), given that my faith is most probably severely lacking at the moment. By the way, while being physically strong is certainly an advantage, I believe that this subreddit's …

I don't think that's how it works, though... it's just that I found the "be Chad/don't not be Chad" advice to be a bit too simplified. Besides, even Chads still have to risk and not suffer from oneitis. Maybe that's the real issue that's pushing me towards MGTOW, the inability to see women as numbers? Like, it feels impossible to emotionally reduce a person to a stat just because they rejected you? You put your heart and soul as a part of the risk, and if it doesn't work out, you're supposed to …

Good thing you didn't also stop commenting before you threw in some insults, huh? 😃 Now you're free of the responsibility of contributing to the discussion meaningfully, seeing that it personally hurt you so much that someone else had a trouble to share. Thanks for stopping by! 😉

Is this the first true MGTOW comment in this thread, or just the first comment here that hangs its point on the absolute loosest of threads? The world might never know...

Overly anxious OR having low self-esteem? Why choose if you can have both? xD Also, I'm pleasantly surprised at how many level-headed, reasonable and useful comments I've gotten about actual dating in a thread that wasn't really supposed to be that. I guess it shows how nuanced some issues can get. I could've just left it at "Is the inherent lack of fairness in dating a justified enough reason to go MGTOW?", but hey, here we are.

Thanks, I'll check it out! Specialised training regimes are a thing after all, at least to some extent.

I'm glad to hear that your experience with an escalating girl was a genuinely pleasant one, however long ago it may have been. Thank you.

I mean, I can think of one where it is helpful and one where it isn't... but it's only there where it's not helpful. xD

I'm aware of this, yet I still refuse to provide for myself. I feel like I'd rather starve than agree to play by nature's rules. Nature is cruel and unforgiving towards at least 50% of the males throughout history, their genes died out with their personal physical deaths while the other half of them had two offsprings on average. That's only justice if looked upon without any ego, and my own refuses to leave me no matter the cost. I've been thinking long and hard about how I could live a meaning…

Ah, the physical ice... in my case, it's a glacier the size of the North Pole, waiting for an improved Titanic to come and actually break it, all the while global warming only exists in the wrong reality.

If by "lift" you mean "think about lifting but doing even that with great care due to having had two inguinal hernia surgeries from the age 11 onwards", then still no.

I get it, but I refuse to make the first move, and I feel I can't help it, or even like I won't help it, like I have a will that's mine yet beyond me. I can thrive with my "inverted game" only in situations in which the girl is really open and escalates first. I had exactly one situation that fully manifested as such, the girl in question escalated all by herself in what I presume was a 10-minute span at most. I was fully okay with that, her kino technique would put many men to shame... but then…

Thank you for your comment! I should probably edit out the implication that I'm hoping to be surprised by some obscure dating advice I've never read or heard of. What you said wasn't by any means anything new to me, but I guess it's solid advice after all. Kinda got me thinking... If I'm someone who insists on being approached and touched first in order to reciprocate - that is, if I only react and never act, yet like attracts like, then... how could I ever make a date work, if both sides wait f…
