things that should be brought up to a therapist. Things a regular person is not equipped to handle and shouldn't have to handle. This was my exact thoughts but I got bullied pretty thoroughly about it. Once I explained that it was VERY dark stuff, it seemed like everyone understood and backed off, but I'm also trying to find that balance. I feel like I can be trusted, but when people like that intentionally skip vital parts of the story, it only seems like they're iintentionally trying to discre…

I think anonymous story telling online is fine (which I do 99% of the time), but likewise to the opening up. The reason why I say things online, anonymously, is because the chances of anyone finding out who these people are is impossibly low. I change immaterial details online to further shield their identity. I've actually been complimented for it because it helps others know they're not alone too, that others go through what they're going through, and they can open up without worrying too much…

Yes, I completely understand this feeling. This is a huge reason why even if I do feel the need to share with the ones closest to me, I'm retracting identity in 99% of situations, sometimes I'll say it's a woman if it's really a guy (or not at all), or other things so things can't be linked back. The only way I divulge info like that is if I'm being heavily abused. I do not hold in severe abuse anymore at all (though even then I'm more patient with it than I should be most days). I'm very sorry …

Thank you for your compassion. It's a very difficult thing to have to navigate, but then also be a firm believer that these things happen randomly and sometimes it has nothing to do with me. We can't always foresee every bad situation or even get out of it safely once we realize it is bad. I understand this in an intellectual way. I think there is just a general 'how do I still take care of my male friends, but also still respect my history too?' vibe. I shut down and just don't talk to them any…

If the man starts with "I've never told anyone this before" or "I have trouble talking about this..." Honestly I don't think any one of them has said this. I think there is always an assumed confidentiality, which for the most part I honour, but things difficult for me to process on my own (again, often dark stuff, trauma, clarification of someone else's gossiping, etc.), I do confide in my own friends; it's not done in a "gossip" type way, but more of a "This is what a friend told me, what are …

Ah gotcha, sorry. I think my sleepiness had me reading you incorrectly. Thank you for the clarification. I just want to be there the best I'm able, but there is a limit and appropriateness level that is difficult to discern. Such is life. :/

keep everything to yourself. Behave as if you never heard anything from them, until you are again in private with this person and they want to talk about it. This policy actually caused A LOT of trauma in my life (got SAed by a PUA and didn't tell anyone because he recorded us and told his friends, they then spent years bullying me), so I will never do this anymore. I guess it's important to then tell people I cannot be there for them for anything more than hugs and distraction/hangout/fun gamin…

I enjoy grilling burgers and frying chicken so if I gotta give up the six pack for some southern flavor in my food so be it Preach it, brother. Living your best life. LMS is great for opening the door, but my personal uniqueness was usually what kept a girl around This is what's I've found too. I mean it seems obvious that someone would like that, but what do you have beyond that? That's the stuff that has sticking power.

I'm not a man, but was the lover of two of them. One admitted to me as part of our 'healing' journey together, the other just left, but has historically been very open and vulnerable with me about this kind of stuff. Generally I'm very tight-lipped about things and don't say who people are when I vent about them, so I'm often a trusted woman for a lot of men's counter-venting. In the past, when we've come back into each other's orbits in our "will they, won't they" trope we've lived in, he'll us…

The "Looks, Money, and Status" that apparently is all women care about as if we're soulless creatures from the depth Hell-bent on singing our siren song to entrap men forever or we discard them like a piece of rotten flesh (similar exaggeration to how Red Pill frames this).

There is more to it than submitting in a executive dysfunctional way. My parters still listen to me and many of my concerns are taken into account, but ultimately the final decision is his as the "lead" in our family. I am okay with this because I'm able to still voice my concerns and am still respected. This is where MANY Red Pill men went wrong. The ones that cannot and are forced to be submissive are way more dysfunctional and abusive than a woman who chooses to submit to his "lead". Again, I…
/r/ExRedPill01/05/23 04:27 PM

I don't think they all do. Consent isn't dirty, it's just a requirement in a sense. They want submission, but where it breaks down is when the man doesn't lead right and that's what these fucked up versions don't get. There are women who want to submit to a good and quality man, but a good quality man also understands his full duties as well, even keeping up with potential mental health issues instead of doing this whole "Oh well I have ADHD and that means I can't do my parts, but you still have…

I am much more than just a "housewife". Unlearning traditional gendered skills is a multi-generational process. Probably one of the hardest things coming from traditional Roman Catholicism. Like, "This is okay? You swear it? I might not actually go to Hell?!" Certainly none of what you describe is compatible with redpill, though. I think that your vision of what everything is has been greatly skewed by the more fucked up versions, the loud ones who skew it with their dysfunction and mental healt…

We still practice a traditional relationship 90%+ of the time, I just have polyamorous relationships on the side (totally legit, my main partner knows what he needs to know). I stay at home and do my wifely duties, pay bills, clean house, purchasing, do a majority of the caretaking of our child, gardening, cooking, etc. He works (and is mono) and brings in the money, does the repairs, mowing lawn, leads, etc. We have since switched from religion to philosophy, but for the most part are still mos…

Yeah, sex negativity was detrimental to our mental health so there is still a lot of stigmas around ours. One of our families shunned us and the other completely cut us off and framed us a cheaters. It was all very gross honestly. But regardless of the issues around it, we still worked well for many years. I think many people like to at least try different things and can still be considered "traditional". It's sad that we need to hide ourselves from others still in 2023. Wild world.

Respectively, there is A LOT that goes on in the bedroom that many traditional relationship seekers do that don't announce to their social circles or church or keep secret. While we may look traditional on the outside and still is mostly, many of them still participate in BDSM and alternative structures for their needs. This is more common than you think.

You're assuming a lot...and you're wrong about a lot too. Good luck with those assertions working out for you in other areas of your life. Definitely good luck on others not calling you out as an "adult groomer" as well. You ever wonder why PUA stuff is on a decline? Or can you not mentally see more than 5 feet in front of you as well? I'm sorry you've had to endure all that. Bullying can be relentless sometimes because we beat ourselves up long after the bully stopped. Sounds like you have a wonderful plan ahead of you. Best wishes to you and Ephesians 5:33 NLT. ✌🏽 Just remember that good women are capable of loving you even though your perceived social "value" isn't that great. It depends on a lot of factors. Don't give up on yourself.

It's called "adult grooming". When someone pretends to love you and want you, it shouldn't be seen as a con all the time. That's on his soul, not mine thankfully. 👎🏽

Yeah, that shit is scary now. Even as a woman, the sheer amount of times my QPRs like this got flipped on me as some kind of immoral person is wild. The Manosphere seemed like the men's version of the MeToo shit, but it was dripping with lies, fucking with women's minds and hearts, tricking women into thinking these guys actually loved her, etc. My God, it was all ugly. It's not as easy as you think. Many deal with issues simply because they don't want to adhere to social norms for women. We just end up making friends with those like us and we're usually at home where you can't see us. 😅 When you're full "womanly" with social norms, there is a lot of faking going on too. Lots of suppression of certain emotions which end up coming out later in relationships. There is even more BS to deal with with them usually. I just prefer to be myself, an introvert, gamer, et…

Right, I understand the concept. I've read about it. But why is this even some major talking point within dating and relationships? They beat it into men now as if this is some majority issue. There are probably less women doing this than there is car accidents. It's such a tiny issue that's used to paint all women in this psychopath way, but most women are probably appalled by this behaviour.

I understand that well. I've been pretty afraid to commit to men too and then they leave even when we have a good thing going. I didn't even realize how hurtful it was until one of my favourite ones left. I always wonder why they pick me and think they're fucking with me. Red Pill unfortunately messed with women too. :/ Best wishes in conquering those fears. I miss dirty talk with the ones I love. lololol sorry jk Hopefully we both obtain those amazing relationships we want.

This was amazing honestly. You had a fear, recognized that fear, and did what you could to minimize it, then you went externally to find solutions, joined something that sounded good a first, sensed when something was bad, left, and are now taking the steps to heal and acknowledging that you're struggling with telling someone. To be frank, I believed this probably was one of my ex-boyfriends issues and I felt bad because I didn't recognize it. I just kept getting upset that he was using these th…

Let's be real, what's the actual rate of women to do this as part of their "evolutionary hardwiring". Men have most certainly fallen in love with women who are killers? Nobody has been able to come up with a substantial number. There are more rapes in the world than there are of that existing. There is no "truth" here. You're saying just because, say, a million women do a thing in a world where there are like 3 billion women, that it means they're all like that? So let's flip that on men and say…

There are many variations that spawned, but basically the 'original' that many older ones and myself remember (30+ years old/pre-2010ish) was basically a group/groups that helped both men and women learn about toxic and abusive people, sex positivity, boundaries, learning about our own 'natural' tendencies (but not in a derogatory way), human behaviour, Stoicism, being 'good' without God, and traditional gender roles were a big aspect for those who wanted that and how to be good at that and crea…

Their worldview is so bonkers. I mean, we do get hit on sometimes, but it's not like we're setting up booths and giving our info out to everyone who asks. Most times you can see guys checking you out and they're too afraid to say anything.

That’s because they’re off doing their own thing and not pissing and moaning about women in the internet. This is the way. Pre COVID I ran the Cooking for One or Two classes at the local Men’s Shed, and a lot of these guys were widowers, recently retired or divorced empty nesters, and just wanted to make some friends and learn how to do things for themselves. It tends to happen when other victims find each other. We often end up in chats together and befriend each other too. lol Thank you, I'm mostly over it, but it's really good for the other women who might still be suffering through their experiences to read, just like what happened. It shows clear patterns of non-consentual misconduct. I know it's dark, but it can help others get recovery info. And we're glad you're here. One of my favourite lovers that I met online pulled PUA shit on me when I finally went to go meet him in person. I just cried buckets back in my room after every night we hung out. I tried so hard to push it out of my mind during the entire trip. He used the same moves I had seen online in the really dark forums, like 'making sure' he grabs her hand suddenly to rub his dick in public to "push past her 'last minute resistance' (LMR)" so she doesn't have time to think about what he's just done. They applied the Pareto Principle to it which is that says 80% of outcomes result from 20% of all causes, but it's generally not used in that context. I think that would be another example of the very common "kettle logic" that is applied to a lot of other things they say as well.

Does she have her own mental health struggles? Did you guys just have a child and maybe she has PPD? Just regular depression? Does she also work? How much stress does she carry? Are you kind to her? Do you initiate? Was she raised in strict religion and/or sex negative environment? There are so many questions that need to be answered. Edit: Never mind, saw the post history. You may want to do more research champ. Even then, do you realize how incredibly rare this is?! Like extremely rare compared to the billions of women on this planet. Are all men rapists? No. Compared to the billions of men, this too is rare. Painting such a broad, derogatory statement is exactly why sex-based stigmas continue, for both sexes.

some women do end up in shit relationships where they get treated like garbage and don't leave. If you actually talk to these women though, they sure as fuck don't LOVE it. They actually really, really want the guys to treat them better. But they tend to have self worth problems that lead them to shitty men and make it hard for them to leave. Did you know that Red Pill is nearly identical to what Keith Raniere taught in his relationship seminars prior to it being created, right down to dumbing down women and mistreatment of them for acquiescence? I am fairly certain he didn't create it. :/

Second, in most cases women will reject you because they do not know if you are into her I think this was the hardest part about being with Red Pillers. They're taught to not invest too much, so a guy would get me all into him and then he'd do the push > pull > push > pull shit with negging and it would make me so confused. I just gave up after a while. It was too hard to not know if he was going to like me that day.

That is one of a few definitions of it. There is a men's self-help group that is basically a really fucked up version of codependency recovery, casual sex via deception and mind games, with some pipeline to PUA stuff. Then there is those who do want relationships, but want the traditional ones with gender roles, wifey duties with husband duties, with husband being primarily the lead, mainly partnership stuff (this is what we did, wasn't adversarial). Then there is a somewhat abusive master slave…

Here, maybe this will help: https://www.healthyplace.com/blogs/verbal-abuse-relationships/2018/5/love-bombing-gaslighting-abuse I'm just trying to let you know what you're complaining about is a brain-chemical thing that happens in those types of relationships. I can see narcissistic assholes from a distance are blind to all the bad stuff Not if they were raised around it. My trained and degreed professional had to teach me that this is literally a thing in abuse recovery. Abuse victims, both men and women, are known to dissociate and normalize certain abuses due to trauma responses that are automatic responses in the brain. Those relationships rarely start that way. This process is called "betrayal blindness". It's a trauma response similar to fawning…

Please don't forget there are still a lot of abusive people that hide behind Red Pill. They too must be talked about. Degradation of women and their behaviours, even when completely misread, significantly increases in these environments. Referring to people as plates and other invalidating terms makes people devalue them in their minds. They're more likely to treat them badly. It's how it all works.

If I could guess based on personal experiences, I would say it's probably the Stockholm Syndrome that makes them extra compliant regarding abuse and fear or their fawn response that makes it look like they enjoy it. There are a lot of trauma responses they utilize and they just describe it in a very dysfunctional way. They're very typical responses to men like that and I can see their confirmation bias being triggered just by how it looks. Just because she's fawning or trying to be extra nice to…

Granted I don't know how old you are, but "emotionally disturbed" was like a catch-all decades ago. When they had my family convinced I was ADHD without seeing an actual trained pro (found out later I wasn't), they considered me "a disturbance to my classmates" just because my leg would shake. 🙄 When they found out it was actually PTSD because my addict parents were abusing me, they called me "disturbed" too because I would talk about all the crazy shit I would do with my foster brothers (like h…

I think a form of Red Pilling is necessary, but it's not THIS version that's needed. They need info from actual professionals about abuse, toxicity, etc. Not from anons on the internet that don't give a shit about them, the crimes they commit because of them, etc. The Matrix movies actually talk about the more worthy version of Red Pilling that's less traumatizing, more helpful, and more realistically educational.

I think it can be many reasons: physical, emotional, coping, etc. I don't think it's wrong to choose either way. I think it's wrong to use others using lies, emotional manipulation, and such to get those needs met without their informed consent. I've had amazing, deep sexual relationships where we allow each other to be introverts too, and have our own lives outside of the relationship; there's just a level of compatibility that's needed, honesty, consent, and great communication.

Wow, this hits deep. I'm so sorry to hear about your experiences. I've had similar; they are very painful. Dealing with the survival mode my brain was in and then suffering through the isolation was the worst! Everything seemed like a threat afterwards. I've read it takes an average of 7 tries to get out of those. I hope you are doing better these days. 🤍

You weren't, a billion or more others were. There are other people that exist and have life experiences beyond you. I pity you for truly believing that people are "brain dead", or a "feminist", or a "leftist" for simply knowing things beyond your personal scope. That must be difficult.

I think it's understandable since most of them are raised to supress emotions, not talk about things because it's too 'weak', etc. That's detrimental to one's mental health. I was raised in a military family and very similar to a man and I completely understand those issues and had similar affects to men. It's not healthy at all.

Unfortunately mentally and emotionally abusive relationships also affect the brain's regulation with certain things; most notably the hippocampus and amygdala which are responsible for A LOT of vital regulatory processes that can have a detrimental impact on their life, career, and social life. Both men and women are affected, but I've read that women are affected deeper. Due to these changes at a brain level, they often become unlike their authentic selves, may be more hyper-vigilent, more defe…

With all due respect, it seems you view relationships in a very surface level way. There are many things we get from a relationship and I think you're not seeing everything you could, their potential, their healing power, etc. You appear to see them almost as a means to an end with some caveats. They're not there to be a person to be loved, they're there to satisfy your physiological needs. That's the transactional relationships that Red Pill talks about. No relationship is perfect. I've been in healthy relationships with former abuse survivors like myself because we've committed to healing together and helping each other. People say that we're some of the most toxic people to be with, but it's not always the case. Some dysfunction can come from outwardly normal seeming people. We hide a lot from public view. Even mature people won't have easy-going ones 100% of the time. Bad days exist. We can't always be these mentally stable people all of the …

I just think there are a lot of mental health issues like DPDR or depression that many of them suffer with and don't realize their thinking is distorted. Many of them haven't attended therapy and sometimes have the resulting disconnected thoughts and beliefs, then that's projected out towards the things that confound them the most. I haven't watched enough of her to say she's misogynistic, but she encourages women (or I guess who is watching her) to become something else to attract their partner. These are just my personal beliefs based on my experiences, but anytime I've had to fake interaction for attraction, it's led to me always feeling guilt for not attracting them for who I really am (hence my description). A disordered thought-process cannot evaluate itself properly (our egos sometimes won't even allow it anyways because then it would have to admit it's not "right", unbiased, undistorted, etc.) and turn itself into a non-disordered thought-process. I have anxiety, so let me see if I can help with this one. The stupid thing about anxiety is that it lies to us. This is really great for Red Pillers and those who left. They taught men to be terrible in relationships and then they saw what they lost. But not MOST people are afflicted by these things. Women aren't always well-socialized, either are a lot of men, but I do think there is more to it than what he states. A lot of relationships are lost to just the time it takes to work and live. People are exhausted and not everyone is an extrovert.

Since people aren't monolithic, almost everything is subjective. I make it a point to call abusers immature and what they are: abusers. It shouldn't be a masculine or feminine quality. After experiencing abuse for decades first hand, I can say guys like you are deeply cherished by many abuse survivors, we're often just too afraid we're going to scare you off or hurt you, so we tend to push you away or stay away. It's a sad reality for lots of victims.

A big thing to remember is that people aren't normally studying gender-based issues as much as us. There are so many adults that were raised this way and don't really think about it in-depth. Thank you. Me too! Sooooo much. It was a mental prison and absolute Hell. And agreed. I try very hard to be a good, strong woman, but with Red Pillers, you'll never be enough.

I was forced in as a woman. I went kicking and screaming but inevitably broke down and succumbed to the pressure after being gaslit by several men in my social network. My escape out was sneaking off to therapy and talking to professionals about all this, the 'group' most of my friends were parroting, etc. They told me everything I needed to go to GTFO because I was being literally brainwashed by some of them. I noped out, moved across the country, and told everyone to eat a dick, and kicked the…

Ooooh, this is so good! You touch on a majority of the reasons why people get stuck in these cults, especially the need for neurodivergent people to have some sort of rule book. It's insanely confusing with all the differences people have and it can really cause a lot of pain. It took years to figure out why my spouse and FWB got sucked up into it and I would have never guessed it on my own, but they were both unknowingly neurodivergent. It was such a relief and then after some specialized treat…

I think what you said is still great though. The deeper understanding of being able to detect a toxic relationship without relying on what Red Pill says is essential because they don't really teach it in the right way, but it's still vital info.

Omg "the reason guys say women hit the wall is cause it's usually around that age that women stop worrying so much" is an INCREDIBLE insight. they eventually tell on themselves by saying younger women are more compliant. Easier to trauma bond, easier to groom because they often don't know better, easier to train, easier to brainwash, and easier to control for brain-level acquiescence. Pretty much the same thing predators do. FTFY.

I was this woman for many years from a toxic group of men who couldn't get in my pants, so they decided to spread nasty rumors about me and validate each other's bogus claims. If she was a good woman, you may want to verify these things very closely. Just a tip.

many women would be shocked at how much men typically dislike make-up When I found a lover like this. It was such a breath of fresh air. I love men like this. obviously healthy and nicely-done hair, and maybe a few little accentuations can be nice (eg., tasteful and sexy eye-liner, just a cute little touch of blush, etc) Yeah, I love this. I only do mascara and eyebrow powder to define my brows, but otherwise: chapstick, hair that's been curled by being put in a damp bun overnight, and trying to…

You weren't downvoted by me, so I'm not sure. I'm not really criticizing so much as pointing out generalizations that hurt a lot of women and men. This sub is for discussing the harm of Red Pill, not to debate it or continue to push its harmful narrative. And I don't really "try" above not wearing makeup (which prevents the skin from 'breathing'), putting on SPF and moisturizer honestly. The Wall It might for some, but that's the whole point of this sub is to point out the toxic generalizing that Red Pill does. I'm nearly 40 and still look 30 (I'm an ex-RPed woman; thank fuck I was saved from this madness). Some people have good genes or take care of their looks and hair and don't 'age' as badly as others. It's stupid for Red Pill to talk like all men desire the same things because they don't; neither one of the sexes do. Trying to push this narrative should only be done with a …

But a pub, bar or club, it’s absolutely fine to approach a woman. It’s a social environment, where normal people expect to talk to other people who are there. Next time lead with this. Adding to this, a lot of the hate in general can be from the very cult recruiters themselves. Some of the stories might be completely fabricated, some are just trolls who get entertainment from hurting people, some are just vulnerable people are just projecting their hurt online because it's generally not okay to do IRL, some are abusers who prey on people online, etc. People online, especially the ones in Red Pill spaces, aren't okay. If they were, they'd be living their best life offline.

What you said is absolutely true, but there have been MAJOR changes to mental health care just even in the last several years. I urge you to consider trying again if you need it. I don't think people understand the position a huge part of their client base are in. A lot of these men are loners, socially awkward, Autistic, abuse survivors, victims of overbearing mothers, or otherwise do not have this natural understanding to things like this, especially reading the desires of women (who are already confusing to them), body language, and other aspects required to even be remotely 'good' at this type of thing. It's not as simple as you say.

Having learned this too late in life, I realized that organized religion plays a huge part in a huge chunk of society not even knowing how to do proper self-care. A lot of us are taught from birth that God, or Jesus, or the plethora of other figures would do it for us or help us when it's really just an illusion to keep people trapped in these vicious cycles of caring for others only to be used up, taken for a ride, drained, conned, etc. Then as religion fails a lot of us, we get our 'Red Pill' …

Andrew Tate doesn't lead a cult. I have no interest giving his social media more attention. I'm willing to bet good money he does and that we just don't know everything yet. He's a grifter, yes, but he also uses most cult recruitment tactics. Use the BITE model assessment and tell me he doesn't use those for HU and shit. He even does the proxy recruitment which is a HUGE sign of a cult leader. Guaranteed he'll hit at least 50% of them.

They will often disappear afterwards though. Name one cult leader who went through the martyr phase that isn't deeply shunned by most of the population afterwards. Usually the public just has to learn how bad everything was first. Shit, even Trump is slowly going through his. He's quite literally a cult leader and they rarely get in trouble like this. They cause a massive amount of damages in their victim's life, often send their 'army' to harass and even harm them via proxy recruitment which inevitably can get their worshippers in trouble (see Allison Mack of NXIVM), they brainwash without any concept of consent, and other horrors. Andrew Tate's arrest may end up a bigger story than Keith Raniere's. That's why people keep talking about it. Society needs to get it th…

It's very likely it's not him and his PR team was told to just keep posting the standard 'they won't break me' stuff so that he can attempt to stay relevant (and as per a typical cult leader's mind fuckery, keep the brainwashing going for his more devoted worshippers). I bet it'll dry up once people stop getting paid.

Considering that he was teaching vulnerable men how to loverboy women, which can get them in serious trouble, it's probably a good idea that Reddit reminds the world the power of these incredibly dangerous "coaches" -cough- cult leader -cough-. Human relationships have been like that since the beginning of history. Guys are like that too. They accidentally pick some "crazy" girls first until they figure it out and start finding the better ones. There isn't much new in what they say, they just deceptively present it in biased and distorted ways.

I think some genuinely want to learn how to be a better partner but don't realize a lot of things being taught aren't healthy. Many speculate that's it's really designed to isolate men to draw them deeper into the cult (because partners who love them will try to 'save' them and they can't have people doing that!), but it's debatable. In abuse recovery, you learn of "The FOG", which is certain emotions being used against you to make your thinking "foggy", which is one of the tricks used that prev…

There are many, many other reasons besides "women's standards" as to why men can't get dates. I didn't date for many years because I believed my mental health issues would be too much of a turn off and it turns out most are totally fine with it because I self-manage fairly well, it only affects 3 of my 168 hours of my week, and I self-isolate.
