Ok yeah this clearly isn’t gonna go anywhere

That’s a hilarious strawman. Lmfao. And this app has thousands upon thousands of active users so it’s by no means minuscule. And no, I don’t think cheating is a bigger problem than the many posed by apps like this. I’ve already said as much and explained why. Cheating is an interpersonal failing caused by a lack of emotional maturity. This app reveals how fragile our right to privacy actually is in our society. That is a thousand times more important.

Ok but I’m not OP. And I’m talking about stuff that’s related to what OP said. That’s how conversations work. They don’t stay in one place

I’ll tell you straight up that I don’t have the “same level of concern” which I’m sure will be construed as my having no concern. Cheating is bad and is not something we should encourage. But people can and do recover from it. Couples can and do reconcile after it. Partners who are cheated on can go on to find healthier relationships. Cheaters can also do some introspection and maturing and also go on to find healthy relationship. I am far more concerned with the many false statements made on ap…

We aren’t limited to solely what the OP asked. We can and should use it as a springboard to expand upon. And of course, the comment I made also applies to false rape accusations specifically.

Because even though it may have been created with that intention, in practice, it turned into a cesspool of doxxing and unfounded gossip. There are even some men’s nudes in the leak. And it didn’t even end up keep the women using it safe because they didn’t secure any of their data.

word salad Also known as “trying to talk to someone and find common ground.” But I guess that’s not gonna happen here.

It’s hard to quantify claims that are made anonymously on social media but the claims and their impact exist. That’s where actually talking to men and taking their stories seriously helps. You don’t have to do that at the expense of doing the same for women. Just because there was no conviction doesn’t mean there was no harm done. Do you accept that? Just because the false accusation wasn’t as serious as rape, doesn’t mean there was no harm done (yes, I know that OP specifically mentioned rape b…

The vast majority of men aren’t Pedro Pascal or Justin Baldoni who were already rich and already have massive fanbases. If you can’t see how something like this would affect an ordinary man differently from a celebrity, then there’s really no conversation that we can have. And yeah, you were. Because you keep falling back on it being “one of the hardest crimes to prove” and on conviction rates.

Uhh, yes. You’re still only acting like rape accusations can only occur in a criminal context. The fact that they’re hard to prove criminally is exactly what makes accusations outside of a criminal context possible. With a murder, there’s usually either a body or a missing person, right? So I can’t just go on social media accusing someone of murder without at least that much evidence to establish the claim. Not the case with rape. Rape is something that most often occurs between two people in to…

Things that apply to false accusations generally, also apply to false rape accusations specifically. Thats how that works. I specified that that standing expectation to believe accusers by default was present in spaces like this. Did not say that was true for society writ large. What are the consequences going to be? Well yeah, some women will refuse to associate. Which is bad. It is bad when people’s reputation is harmed by lies. People can lose jobs. Which is bad because people need jobs to ea…

You still fail to consider the nature of most false accusations. Most don’t involve police and they don’t have to for there to be material consequences against a person who’s been accused. Social stigma doesn’t apply to the users of this app and others like it because the posts are completely anonymous. And I do not take the claim of social stigma seriously when you won’t acknowledge that as a potential serious consequence for the accused and especially when theres this standing expectation in s…

I feel this. There’s def things I’ve said and done while dating that I regret. Nothing criminal but still things that I feel bad about it. Which makes me like 99% of the entire dating population. I’ve tried to improve myself and correct behavior and just be a better man. But I don’t want apps like this one preventing me from moving on from cringey or douchey stuff from 10+ years ago. I don’t think every mistake a person makes needs to be etched in stone.

Is the app set up somehow to keep the user base exclusively female Yes. That’s kind of the issue.

“If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.” Orwellian logic.

False accusations don’t have to involve police for them to be harmful. And they don’t even have to involve rape for them to be harmful.
/r/ExRedPill28/07/25 07:13 PM

Because women are also capable of being “the shitty ex” and can (and have) used this unmoderated platform where they can post anonymously to defame and dox men. Everyone treats false accusations like they’re only harmful if the police are involved but that’s simply not true. And not every false accusation has to be about rape, specifically, for it to be harmful.

Now you’re just being dishonest. You said “I really don’t have sympathy to men because y’all be doing this to women.” You initially made no other qualifier until AFTER I called you out on that statement. It was only after that that you were like “well I only meant these specific men.” Which is also bullshit because you automatically assume most men fall into that category. You said it yourself. Respect for privacy is not supposed to be transactional. You either respect it or you don’t. You eithe…

“I have no sympathy for men.” Literally an exact quote. You tacked on qualifiers after the fact.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 08:25 PM

So because underground pages exist doing something bad, you have no sympathy for people affected by an above ground app because of their gender. Yeah, I’m done here.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 08:23 PM

I refuse to understand or respect the POV of someone who says they have no sympathy for me, yes.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 08:21 PM

“Why don’t they just make rules?” Because the people that make and use the app are bad people. “Who are the moderators.” There aren’t any. These are built in features of the app.

Actually the reason they aren’t #1 is BECAUSE WHAT YOU ARE DESCRIBING IS A FELONY. Consensual porn and OF are not comparable.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 08:19 PM

And that’s why there’s no productive conversation to be had with you.

It’s actually deeply wrong and evil. It’s literally Orwellian. Patriot Act shit. Surveillance state logic. The app self selects for negative reviews. Reviewing platforms in general self selects for negative reviews.

It’s actually quite difficult. They require you to take a selfie and it has to be approved. They don’t let you upload photos from a camera roll.

And exactly none of them were/are number 1 on the App Store

if you could convince women to shut it down A futile effort because they’d throw out the same reasonings you have: “If you have nothing to hide, you having nothing to worry about.” “I have no sympathy.” “People lie, just the way things are” “Well these other men did bad things so you’re fair game.”
/r/MensRights25/07/25 08:07 PM

The way to shut it down is to shut it down. Like we do about the apps and pages that do this same thing to women.

I have no way of knowing because I can’t join. I don’t even have the ability to see what is being done with my own information.

you won’t be able to stop pages where women talk about men Don’t care. Because we aren’t talking about those pages. We’re talking about an app that has been proven to doxx men and has also potentially doxxed some or all of its women users. you need women too I don’t think we do in this case. The data leak is kind of an example of trash taking itself out. Tea App’s death will likely be self-inflicted

Why is it always women Again, you are in a men’s subreddit. No one’s making any demands of you. You came here and started off about how you have no sympathy for men.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 07:55 PM
1

It either is or was the number one app on the App Store. 10s of thousands of users who are able to each make more than one post. Meaning the actual number of people affected by this is exponentially more. But I guess they don’t matter because they have Wrong Chromosomes which means they must have done something wrong.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 07:54 PM

You’ll never cared about taking down pages Again, you can’t actually say that because those pages actually got taken down. New ones cropped up and they’ll get taken down too. Someone cared. You shouldn’t expect that from women Again, you’re in a men’s subreddit.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 07:49 PM

I can be mad at women for doxxing, yes the fuck I can. There’s tons of threads And those threads often get DMCA’d. Rightly so. It’s a problem that we know how to deal with. It’s a big problem though which is why shit gets missed. But you’re saying that because these unrelated men did this, it’s normal for every woman to do this to any guy in their area with personal identifying information and they have no right get upset. And your reasoning is “if they have nothing to hide, they won’t mind.” Li…

“I’m not in favor of the app” but yet you go into threads were people are upset about it and refusing to take any of their concerns seriously.

Where was this energy Pretty sure pages that share stuff like revenge porn get taken down left and right because that’s highly illegal. They SHOULD be taken down. Doxxing is bad in all cases. In ALL cases. No exceptions. You’re either on board with that or you’re a gigantic steaming sack of shit. Which are you? maybe consult your fellow men We’re literally having this conversation in a thread in a men’s subreddit.

You’re in favor of this app existing. This app allows people to post names, addresses, and phone numbers of people. And there’s literally no way to substantiate these experiences.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 07:35 PM

It’s obvious in the way treat them and talk about Says the one who just came out in favor of a pro-doxxing and treads 50% of the population like they’re all raging, savage beasts.

I don’t rlly have sympathy for men And now I have basically no respect for you, at all.
/r/MensRights25/07/25 07:24 PM

You actually can stop these apps because countless apps like it have existed in the past. There were apps like it 10+ years ago when I was in college and they all got shuttered for this reason. Btw, there was a massive data leak for this app because the devs had basically no security. So now a bunch of user data, including people’s driver’s licenses, is just out there. Those women that this app was meant to protect? Yeah, 4Chan now has their names and addresses.
