Thanks for the message. I have considered moving up north but never been further than Norfolk but always imagined it to be scummy but obviously that is a biased view of a few places. I think I should set that LISA up, I already have around 70% of my money saved in stocks (probably too high). Thanks for the reply though, given me some things to think about

Thanks, I think you are right. Lot's of things to think about, completing a computer science degree btw but I decided to ask here as I thought this forum has a lot of guys who are pretty ahead of the curve so just wanted to hear how it was like but that makes sense. Thank you for your reply though

Is that even possible? If I get paid a salary then surely it would just be hit by tax twice?

Aren't share houses / lodgings rent only? Not particularly a fan of renting just for the sake of moving out as would rather save money and get something out of it at the end of it

Haha true, that is a wall of text. I thought I did develop more of a DNGAF mentality but the more I think about it I still care what other people think of me, because if I didn't I would just do whatever I wanted which is bad (which now I think of it isn't just 'BAD!'). Thanks for your advice!

Thanks for the advice, haven't really considered it that way much. And yeah definitely need some starting money, I have looked into it for a few years and traded on practice trades off and on, completely different beast when its real money though, and i've only made a handful of daytrades with small amounts, very stressful lol

No not at all. Shit happens, you stood up too quick or for too long, was dehydrated and hit the deck. Don't worry, you'll laugh about it soon :)

Wow that's really cool actually! I am in computer science myself. Marketing never interested me at first but I think its a highly applicable skill you can take anywhere with you which is great. Perhaps you could make online courses? Or offer tutoring to students or people who are interested in the industry maybe. And thank you! You too, good luck

Yep haha, Pandora's box! I am now comfortable with not knowing things in a lot of areas! Ignorance truly is bliss

I know exactly what you mean haha, I waste a lot of time watching it. I think ETFs are more secure and fluctuate less, I don't have any myself as my portfolio is just under 40% cryptocurrency and 60% stocks, with most of those being in oil because it was so low recently. The crypto I got during 2019 so I've not made much but it was better than nothing. I think its good your working with your degree as you can use it as experience if it something like coding/software/web design. I try to think of…

I tried mushrooms with some friends in Dam. It was a very scary experience and has made me realise how fragile I am. I am more empathetic but just because other people have done it it does not mean you should. I did it a year ago and still think about it a lot. I accept the experience much better now but be careful with psychedelics... they are not toys. I learnt that the hard way. I am pleased I done it because I am a better person, but I don't believe everyone needs this kind of experience.

I don't have any trust nor respect for you and have no desire to give you the chance to gain either from me again. Steer clear from all of this. This is terrible. You do not need to one up her. Acknowledge and move on. No animosity. Thanks to her you grew as a person. What is done is done. Be nice and head out. Short and sweet to acknowledge, but nothing more.

The Slight Edge - small seemingly insignificant mundane actions are what make or break you in the long term regarding success and failure. Thoughts -> Habits -> Action -> Lifestyle How to Win Friends and Influence People - Excellent for avoiding arguments while still having a great point, as well as being genuine to people. Way of The Seal by Mark Divine - extremely formative to my current mindset to attack goals. Actionable steps. Extreme Ownership - You are solely responsible for everything th…

Recently read EO after listening to Jocko for year or so. Wish I had read it earlier, highly applicable to anyone who works with people (hint: everyone)

I'm 20, so young myself. I don't have much experience but I look into this stuff a lot. The primary thing I would say is look into generating as many sources of income as possible. Practice trading on the stock market. Not only will you learn how to read stocks to invest in, you can earn some serious money daytrading if you get good at it (which is hard, but people have done it before there you can do it too). I am not at that point yet. Savings account interest rates are abysmal at the moment, …

100%. I was in London once after a club with a large group of friends outside a McDonald's with loads of people on the street. I was talking to my friend and some homeless man comes up to me threatening to get a group of homeless guys stab me and rape me and shit. He was on his own outside a busy Mcdonalds and I was with my bodybuilder friend. We don't really drink and could have fucked this guy up but you just do not know what could happen. He kept demanding something from us so we bullshitted …

Came here to say Jocko Willink. Motivation gets you started, discpline keeps you going. You don't want to do something but you do it anyway. The slight edge is a great book for explaining this. Change your philosophy and it changes everything else which defines everything else. Philosophy -> daily attitude -> actions -> life Make your philosophy something you believe in and it won't be a chore. If not, do things which suck, everyday. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. So when you need to do th…

In high school I knew a guy who knew a popular guy. Ended up being friends with the popular guy by association and got invited to loads of cool shit haha. I used to fake it to make it, be cocky but visibly joking and not arrogant. I'm a good listener and I take genuine interest in what people have to say too. At college I was friends with quite a few people but eventually stopped going out to study instead and my 'friends' group mostly receded to my close high school group. I don't fake anything…

As much as I do agree with this, sometimes it's best to not even engage in conversation with them. If you do engage in a fight then you literally don't know if that guy is a professional fighter or not and you don't know if he has a knife. I do BJJ and the amount of 'nice' guys I thought I could handle was most of the class. It is extremely humbling to know you could be effortlessly fucked up by people smaller than you. It's good to know how to defend yourself by fighting but its a last resort. …

I would say finish the degree if possible as some places of employment want 'degree' students which I think is bad (even if you don't want to use it) but it is also a plan B. I feel like young people have lots of pressure to decide early, but now I feel like that pressure is no longer "YOU MUST DO SOMETHING" but rather just find something now while you're young to get ahead of the curve. For guidance maybe just list the things you could not live without and visualise the kind of life style you w…

TL:DR: Try to work remotely selling a skill you do well in which is demanded. It will give you freedom as you can freelance - travel and have free time. I'm like you but a couple of years younger. In secondary school I had no idea what I wanted to do and was told to be a doctor as there is good money in it, "sure" I thought so I picked my subjects for that. Got to sixth form (intermediate school between high school and college in the uk) in a very highly ranked school by luck really, did a few l…

Excerise in the day so you're tired around 8/9 pm. No phone an hour before bed and make sure you use orange light filters. When I'm struggling to sleep I read until my eyes sting under dim red light or dim orange light. Keep going to bed earlier and earlier as soon as you feel a wave of tiredness, and set your alarm earlier 15 mins each day and you will get tired, earlier. I did this earlier this year from 11.30/12 am bed times to comfortably sleeping at 9:30, but I want to get in bed at 8, but …

BJJ 4 to 6 times a week for about 90 mins each time. I'm 20 so not in puberty and not on gear either Training 3x a week. I was training 4/5x a week and training BJJ 2/3 times a week but I think BJJ is better in the long game, I'll still get big just slower. I have been roughly the same size with breaks since March last year when I started lifting again and jiujitsu which has put me off as I don't think I'm eating enough. My bodyfat has dropped but I am more muscular but I don't look bigger. Some…

I am 20 and have a business with two others, BUT... I have not earned a single pound. The business is focused around digital marketing, so we have the option to outsource too. I have mentioned it a few times on this sub actually I started it around 12 months after starting TRP, but was lazy with it and so didn't really start any proper groundwork until Summer last year. All I did was make the business in August 2018 so at the moment not much. Its only been the last 8 weeks we have been ready to …

Sounds a bit creepy, if you're going to randomly message people on FB say something interesting about their profile but still that can be seen as creepy as it shows you went through their page. If shes at your uni, I would say something like - "Hey so you're at Yale too?" - "Hey what do you study at MIT?" - "Hey how was your freshers week?" for example. Relatable content that appears normal and not creepy. Could even add that you are sure you have seen her round before. In all honesty, I would j…

Great post! This is really interesting shit you know, would love to read more about this kind of stuff, definitely going to try it. it's not because he has a complex rational understanding of your psychology and knows you'll reward him, it's because you've conditioned him to feel anticipation and eagerness while he's performing the tricks, which is why he performs them even when there isn't an actual food reward Aaah poor dog
