Yes, and they both work in tandem. Looking at myself in the mirror and seeing progress, and being complimented by friends and family for my work made me feel better about myself; that positivity made me less afraid of being social.

My uni doesn’t grade on a curve. What you need is consistent effort, really; show up to class and do your assignments diligently without any AI or cheating. Study for a total of 5-6 hours a day outside uni and assignments, and that leaves me 2-3 hours for physical activity. Active lifestyles benefit every facet of you career and health.

This is the weirdest argument I’ve seen in a long time. The people I know who put in tremendous effort in their academic careers generally tend to also have their physique and social lives in shape as well. I want to get good grades, do a PhD, and become a physicist. I also do Muay Thai and play soccer, it’s not an either/or situation.

Workout, go for runs, better skincare, better clothing style, learning to flirt. And no, I haven’t. I go by the experiences of myself and the people around me.

Define desirability. I have been told I have a nice nose and eyebrow area, but otherwise I'm average facially. I'm 5'9", and I'm averagely fit. I'm also an ethnic minority where I live which can work against me for meeting some people.

I don't know man I haven't heard of any dude who got "brutally rejected" or humiliated unless they were genuine creeps, like sexually assaulting levels of creep.

Looks: I'm decidedly average. I've worked on myself well enough to have low facial fat and I don't have any deformities, and I've been told I have nice eyebrows and nose, but otherwise I'm very much not notable. Height: I'm 5'9" Physique: Fit, but not visibly shredded or with bulging muscles. I'd say I look pretty average to be honest.

If the "fruit" is a relationship with a woman, why would hanging out with a woman and enjoying being with her be a slog?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 02:16 PM

I can't imagine how so many men on here want relationships with women while simultaneously thinking the act of hanging out with women is boring or a pain.

Fair enough. I really do think people overhype looks-based blackpill ideas, obviously looks matter, but an average dude who's good at socialising and flirting would do better in dating than a handsome dude who's afraid of socialising and women.

No worries, I didn't think that's what you meant. I think the introvert vs extroverts dichotomy is too one-dimensional. Of course I enjoy meeting new people, but it does depend on my overall mood and situation I meet these people in. If I'm on a crowded train trying to get to class on time, I couldn't be fucked to even look at the bloke standing dick-to-arse next to me. If I'm on a morning jog and see someone doing a workout at a calisthenics station, I might strike up a conversation to get to k…

I've never had any of these happen to me, but my fear of approaching was mostly born out of 2 reason: - Fear of rejection, which is something most people have before they gain some experience with living. - I used to have horribly low self-esteem, I was a fat kid and I hated myself, and instinctively felt like I wasn't a catch; despite innately believing that, I was still afraid of having those beliefs reinforced by other people. The only way out was to get off my arse, work on myself, and reali…

This reminds me of so many people who say they hate small talk but want to have "deep intellectual conversations" instead; if you can't handle small talk, you likely can't handle good, intellectually stimulating conversations with strangers either.

I do like socialising and meeting new people, but I think extrovert vs introvert is a distinction that lacks a lot of nuance.

About paying, I really don't mind paying for everything, but what piss me off are comments like "as you should"; I've declined on second dates with a woman because she made comments like that. I'm not even looking for gratitude per se, but it's so fucking annoying to hear shit like "as you should" or "bare minimum".

I live in Sydney; Australia's overall proportion of males aged 18-25 who are overweight or obese is ~43%. It's slightly lower for Sydney in particular. Not that this is good, we need to bring this down ASAP, but it's not over half.

I feel like a lot of people grew up on anime or dramas where people act unnaturally shitty. Granted, this is anecdotal, but I've never come across someone who was ostracised for "trying too hard" or being "too enthusiastic". I have seen people get ostracised for being dicks, and I've seen people lose out on friendships for being too nonchalant. Also, part of the package of flirting and dating is rejection. I've been rejected many times, the point is that it's rarely ever that deep. Sometimes the…

I'm genuinely curious, in what contexts do you meet these women? It's not uncommon to come across uninterested women, but if *every* woman you meet or talk to can't be fucked to converse with you, there's something deeper going on here.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 08:39 AM

This is purely anecdotal, but I've never heard anyone talk shit about individuals who solicit sex workers, most criticism is levied to the exploitation that occurs in the underground sex work industry. If you're not hurting anyone or doing anything illegal, why care? If soliciting escorts makes you happy or satisfied in some way, why care too much about the opinions of strangers who arguably have no effect on your life?

I'll concede that this is a valid point, if you're not having fun in the dating game, there's no point playing. My point in this post though, is to combat the many people here who say that flirting and hanging out are objectively bad ideas or chores, without having ever tried.

You're right, you don't have to date them. A good friend of mine is a woman who I had a "failed" talking stage with. I think people exaggerate how hard flirting has to be. Sometimes all you have to do it just have fun doing an activity with someone and compliment them every now and then on something, like maybe their hair looks particularly nice today, or they just made a great trick shot.

I think in these cases, the best thing to do is genuinely just take a leap of faith. I have a specific TCG I play, and I asked around on a facebook group of other players in my area if anyone wanted to meet up. I see this other dude who takes the same route as me on my morning runs, I struck up a conversation with him once as we stopped at a light.

"talking to attractive to women is fun", this is something I feel a lot of men here don't understand or don't resonate with. Sometimes I don't even wanna have sex, I just wanna flirt with a bad bitch.

I get that, and I think a large issue today is just general loneliness and lack of opportunity to meet people, not just sexual frustration. I don't have any good advice to give you, because I don't think I'm in a position in life where I can give strangers unsolicited advice, and it's not like you asked for any. That being said, two things helped me: - Pool, for example, is a game to be enjoyed with others. It helps reduce anxiety if you're already having fun with your mates. The pressure to ent…

- Supportive of community-focused living, and values strong social bonds and a neighbourly attitude. - Someone good with kids, I want to be a husband and a father someday. - Generally well-educated and has critical thinking skills. - A bit "feisty", someone who has their own opinions on things and isn't afraid to stand their ground in a debate; I want a human, not a robot who drifts through life without much to say. - Communicative. My annoyance is with the roundabout way of asking the question. Yes the fears that your partner would leave you if you became less attractive due to age, injury, or any other unfortunate happenstance is real. There are countless examples of men leaving their partners behind because said partners weren’t as pretty anymore. I respect this insecurity and I do think people in relationships need to have serious conversations about this. It still doesn’t change the fact that the worm phrasing is fucki…

What you're describing the second half of what I fucking said. We don't just come up with theories out of nowhere, they have to be grounded in reality. We make observations, we repeat the conditions that give rise to these observations with precision and enough repetition to ensure that we don't have a fluke or anomaly. We then study the background of this experiment and what the established theories are in the field this experiment was conducted in. Then, we devise mathematical models to, as yo…

??? In physics we make observations about the world around us. If we notice any anomaly, something that we cannot easily explain with our current knowledge, the first thing we do is to repeat the experiment to ensure that it isn't a one-off fluke. Then, we study the data to see what's happening. Then, we study past knowledge to see what we know of related affairs and if there's any corollary to any theory that may help us explain what happened. Then, if we establish that this is indeed a new phe…

How people actually behave is very much a part of real-life experiences. If someone said that males of Asian descent in Australia in their early 20s, studying a STEM degree tend to like x and dislike y, there's good chance that the conclusions apply to me, and these studies are almost always done with regards to objectives that are a lot more quantitatively easy to analyse, which human relationships aren't. If some random person in some corner of the world has an opinion on human intimacy that I…

True, we all have an innate biological drive to procreate and have progeny. And my goal in having a career is influenced by a myriad of factors, some of which are definitely to support a family. That being said, we are the only creatures on Earth as far as we know, that have the concrete capability to move beyond our base instincts, and often live a life without them. I want to be a father, but I have the capacity to move beyond it. We are not a-biological beings, but we are not beholden to biol…

Having a PhD alone isn't a signifier of your research being true to reality, just that you have the competence to do research. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these guys don't know anything, but that their chosen field itself has structural characteristics that make internet-based data a poor measure for the real world. A good example is how research is often done in physics vs history. In physics, we often make observations about reality, and then we try to explain what happened, using mathe…

Humans are animals, yes. We're also blessed to be creatures with intellect and a consciousness that allows us to move beyond base instincts. We're not just mindlessly living by the biological principles that define life. I want to be a father someday, but being a father is not my primary role in life. My mother has a responsibility to raise me, but she's not just my mother, and her own identity, based on who she is as a person, comes above who she is in relation to me.

Depends on what type of research. As a physics major, I wholeheartedly believe the scientific method to be the most pertinent method to reach the truth we have today. That being said, the laws of the universe are a lot more cut and dry than human interactions; I fundamentally do not take quantitative social study analysis to be as accurate to reality as quantitative scientific analysis. OLD studies don't show the complete picture of dating and human relations; various unreliable and often untold…

I suppose this has a lot to do with age and what your lifestyle is. I'm 21, the oldest I've dated is 25, generally my partners and I are both more or less aligned on libido. My biggest "cockblock" is that I genuinely do not have the time to date around at times, most of my time is spent on studying, working out, working, and chores. I go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5 on some days because I have nothing going on in my social life that necessitates me to stay me up late; the only time I do is when …

/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 12:01 PM

Yes, if you elaborated on your standard it would be high. Just simply saying you have a threshold for looks, height, curves, money is low, but can be unreasonable.

This sub is full of people who are either wilfully braindead, or they have never lived in the real world before.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:59 AM

Well one of them is literally like a younger sister to me so there's no way I can consider them for a relationship. One of them doesn't meet my standards, because sexual compatibility IS a standard to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:56 AM

If I placed a man of the same: - ethnicity - face (more or less) - height - physique - expression As you next to you, would there be a difference, not including fingerprints or DNA sequencing?

How do those standards imply that she doesn't know herself?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:53 AM

It is a low standard, it's just an unreasonable standard to some.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:52 AM

I have no clue how to elaborate further than this. Does your standard explicitly define what you want out of a relationship, that defines something about yourself? If yes, it's a high standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:51 AM

I can value them as a person without wanting them as a partner. I have girl-friends whom I cherish, I don't view them romantically. For one, they're too inexperienced in life (they're recently 19, I'm turning 22, I feel more like an older brother when I talk to them). One of them was my ex, we dated for a shirt while, but we had no sexual chemistry (this goes beyond looks, we just weren't compatible in bed, and we had no sexual chemistry between us to be honest).
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:50 AM

"A human is a body and the only way to value someone for what they are is to value the body" Do you think a corpse is a human, to take this argument to an extreme end?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:48 AM

Oh ok got it. Here's what I mean, there's a difference between the "depth" of a standard and reasonability of a standard. If your standard says nothing about your personhood, what you expect out of life and a relationship, your standards are actually fairly low, because you have nothing going on for you outside a few generic filters. But those filters can indeed be unreasonable. It's hard to answer your second point without alluding to pattern recognition in real life conversation. Few people in…

How defined they are about compatibility with you. "Taller than 6 feet and must have abs" doesn't say a lot about you or what you actually seek out in a relationship, for example. And in case you really do only seek out these traits for a relationship, you likely just want a placeholder, nothing about this hypothetical tall, ripped dude is actually personable. Which is why I distinguish between reasonability and the "depth" of a standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:43 AM
3

Yes. I'm also saying that it's not all high standards can be. I also don't know any person in real life who genuinely values 666 as a set-in-stone standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:41 AM
1

If I don't like someone who is physically active (which is definitely a standard I have), it doesn't mean I view them as less worthy as a human. I'm not refuting their value as a person, or even that they may have great characteristics. Even if my only standard was looks, unattractive women aren't second-tier human, what the fuck?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:40 AM

I didn't say that selecting specifically for a tall height or good looks isn't picky. I'm not sure what you're talking about, genuinely, my apologies. If your dating preferences are based on social media in any way I consider them braindead, they don't have to be malicious. Don't date based on what other people say is good or right. Obviously this excludes stuff like abuse and cheating.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:38 AM

It's usually fairly obvious based on the way they talk, but I know this is a nothingburger ass statement. A good tool I have is to ask them about shit-tests and stuff; it's very common for people to fall for engagement bait "testing how my bf/gf reacts" stuff, or falling for social media "theories" like the "orange peel theory". The more they sound like tiktok videos, they more fucked they are in the head. You can also sniff this out by the way they talk in general. Tiktok used to censor the wor…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:33 AM

One day I'll do data analysis on this, but let's go. I know probably around 100 men personally, of whom I know around 50 well, of whom I talk to 20 regularly. None of those 20 are on dating apps or have ever been. I know from mutual friends that the remaining 30 in the 50 are also not. I do not accept dating app statistics as reality because my own reality shows dating apps to be irelevant. Funnily enough, I know women who've used dating apps, but never any man.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:16 AM

The way you describe the "average man", you'd think we're all sexless, frustrated beings. If an alien were to travel to Earth with this sub's idea of the "average man" in mind, it'd think most men it meets were the exceptions.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:07 AM

Yes, no one is a very special snowflake; I'm sure even with very specific details, there's thousands of other men like me. The point is to connect with someone who meets your standards, but those standards have to select for things that actually have meaning beyond just looks and financial prowess. Dude maybe you don't find relationships enticing but you want to not be lonely, it's ok to admit that. But don't pretend like that erases the difference in the two.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 11:03 AM

I explicitly said "gross fucker", not "run of the mill dude".
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:58 AM

Never dated a woman who wasn't ok with paying (going half); I always offered to pay but they wanted to go half and half. This has been the case for almost every single person I've talked to me in my generation about dating with. Knowing that someone is out there wiling to fuck me like I'm a sex-doll isn't really a pleasing thought. I can find some gross fucker in the streets willing to fuck me, that doesn't make me feel particularly good. If I told you there's a fat hag in her 70s ready for you …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:49 AM

If I want to be in a relationship with someone in particular, it means there's something about them as a person that attracts me to them. If I just want someone to be my partner, just to not feel lonely, there's nothing special about who they are, they're fundamentally replaceable. Is this difference hard to understand? People don't date sex dolls or puppets, we date other humans with human feelings, human thoughts, human intellect, and human aspirations; the point of having standards is to find…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:46 AM

That's emphatically false
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:39 AM

Do you fundamentally believe standards are just about looks and money?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:38 AM

Do you think not seeing someone as datable (for yourself) is the same as seeing them as less worthy as a person?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:37 AM

How do I say this. "I want to date someone who is ok with pets" is not the same as "I want someone who has similar life goals as me, feels the same way about family as me, and whose temperament and emotional regulation goes along well with mine".
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:34 AM

Dating compatibility =/= worth as a human. If I don't find myself wanting to be in a relationship with someone, I don't think they're worth any less as a person. What the fuck?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:32 AM

Agreed, which is why most people don't think teenage opinions are worth much, experience matters. This applies to me too, I want to be a father, but at 21, I have a very poor understanding of what it means to be a parent, so someone might consider my opinions on fatherhood to be dogshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:28 AM

Too many people want placeholders without identity; they don't want relationships, they want to not feel lonely.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:27 AM

Standards aren't necessarily a mathematical function where the output variable is the number of people caught in your net. Low/High =/= Reasonability
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:26 AM

You're strawmanning the argument with the pets point. i might like soccer and my partner may like tennis, that's fine; if I want someone who is physically active and cares about their health and looking fit, that's a standard I'm not willing to compromise on.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:25 AM

The whole world isn't people online whinging about being lonely either. Dude I'm bisexual; sure women aren't out here with well-curated profiles and exciting personalities, but there's too many men with dogshit profiles. And a dating app is engineered to prioritise looks, combine that with a gender imbalance, and dating apps are a pretty poor testing ground for dating dynamics offline.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:24 AM

True, no one talks about family planning on a first date; but as you live and learn about who you are, you should learn to be more forthcoming with these standards. Standards aren't necessarily wholly rigid, but they're things to aim towards and get as close to as possible, within reasonable limits. What you're talking about are usually called dealbreakers.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:13 AM

I don't believe men who don't have low standards are Chad. I've got loads of friends who no one would call "Chad". Fuck, I'm not "Chad", I look positively average, I just have an active physical life so I'm not a slob, and even then I'm no one special. If your entire prerogative is to cast a wide net to find anyone, even if they're a bottom of the barrel type, you're looking for someone to alleviate your loneliness; there's a difference between that and wanting to be in a relationship with someo…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:08 AM

This. I hate when people hear "high standards" and immediately default to looks. Motherfuckers looks aren't everything in a relationship, no one is denying that they're important and necessary, but good fucking god looks alone aren't a good basis for a standard. We need to sell English textbooks with the purchase of an internet-capable device.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:06 AM

I think a big thing is the difference between "I wish I had someone to alleviate my loneliness" and 'I want to enter a relationship with this person(s)."
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:04 AM

I will concede that my point about compromise goes against my original point to an extent, but I also didn't intend for my argument to be that people should be rigid, inflexible creatures. However, I fail to see how my points in general have nought to do with dating standards? Those are pretty important things to consider about dating and relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:02 AM

True, pickiness itself isn't a good term, and I concede to your first point. I'm kinda tired, so perhaps I'm misunderstanding what your second paragraph is about. Are you saying that relationships that start casually can be a good thing? In which case yes, I agree. I believe most people who have "low standards" or just "someone who is attractive" aren't really interested in relationships per se, they just don't want to be single. Big difference in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 10:00 AM

Do you want kids? Find someone who also wants kids, and is serious about family planning Understand your temper and your sense of flexibility. Do you tend to steamroll the people around you in conversation? If yes, first off, change yourself, and second, find someone who's either ok with being steamrolled, or find someone who will stand up to you when needed. Find someone you can see yourself spending time with without being bored or annoyed; I've seen relatives who can't really stand their spou…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 09:57 AM

If your (I'm not referring to you specifically here, it's a figure of speech) standards are just some combination of attractive, tall, curvy, rich; your standards are low and unreasonable. And if your standards are based on social media slopaganda, you have no sense of self. I will concede on your first point, it is very possible to have a good sense of self and also not be very picky, but I personally find that to be rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 09:53 AM

High standards aren't just "attractive and/or rich"; in fact I'd say any standard that's just a combination of those two is quite shallow. It means understanding what kind of life you live, what kind of personality goes along well with yours, and finding someone who aligns with your life goals. If my only standards for a girlfriend are "curvy with low BMI and nice face", those are pretty poor fucking standards.

To be honest I do genuinely think TRP entices the types who have a shit time socialising in general, and society's mixed signals don't often help.

Unless you're talking about submissiveness in a non-sexual sense (which still requires boundaries and consent), this is an extremely concerning comment. Or at least safe-signals, in case you've got a ball-gag on or something.

These types of questions make it clear that a lot of people on this sub (usually men) fundamentally misunderstand how people view socialisation and connections. No one tries to quantify how much and in what terms they enjoy being around a person, men don't go "it's 20% her curves, 20% her face, 50% her personality and 10% her willingness to try out new things in bed". It's the same for any connection, I can't tell you the ratios of things that determine my friendships with others, I can give you…

Men who don't put effort into being physically fit, presentable, socially well-adjusted, or don't put effort into life's activities, yet want a partner are generally just whining about not dropping panties with a look. There is truth to the concept that genetically blessed (in this context I'm referring to looks) men have an easier time dating, and anyone with a braincell will always have known this; but people doom too much and presume that anything that's not making women wildly horny with a l…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 11:16 PM

No, but we planned a date over two days, and she didn’t have any input on where to go or what to do, so we went to an art gallery. We also didn’t JUST talk about art for the whole date…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:44 PM

Dawg she's a mechanical engineering major
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 08:52 AM

Which is very fair, and I don't think it's wrong of her to not like me, it was a first date, and I'm certain there were things about me that she didn't like at all. But the thing is, if you do feel uncomfortable or you're not enjoying, why not mention that? I don't want you to stay with me if you don't want to, that's the reason I asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 04:55 AM

True, my attitudes about her hobbies aren't nice. That being said, the date didn't go well, and I'm sure she thinks badly about the date with me as well; if the date went well (or had significant good parts) I wouldn't be making negative comments about the date.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 04:13 AM

Agreed, I'm certain I didn't make a good impression on her either, and I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't like the date, or me. Here's my point though, it's not like I just dragged her to an art gallery, we spent two days planning the date, but she didn't have much input apart from when she was free and discussing when and how we would get home. I asked her if she wanted something to eat, I gave her three options, she didn't really have an opinion. I'm not saying she's a bad person, and I hop…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 04:10 AM

That's fair criticism, my post failed to talk about my own shortcomings on the date, and I wouldn't be surprised if she felt like I was judging her too harshly, even if I didn't mean to.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 04:06 AM

True, my wording was poor. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with her hobbies individually and they don't make her a better or worse person. But the overall profile of who she is seems lacklustre to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 04:02 AM

I never said she was a bad person or acted maliciously, I'm talking purely about attraction and feasibility of dating here.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 03:59 AM

I love gaming too, I've been grinding Halo since I was a kid; but if your major hobbies include gaming and erotic literature, I think you need to diversify a little. I also love athletic and sporty hobbies, it's not just art.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 03:57 AM

I'm not saying these people are bad people or acting maliciously, and it's not right to expect people to be fully self-actualised before they can date, but there does need to be a semblance of personality and spirit if you want to date. People want partners, not robots. I'm sorry to hear about your past, I hope things have been better for you since.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 03:35 AM

True, NPC does have a harsh, tunnel vision-esque characteristic to it, that's a poor choice of word. But I believe my overall point still stands, you need to know who you are and what you want (to a reasonable extent) to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 03:34 AM

We didn't just talk about art, we talked about uni, personal life, hobbies, career ambitions, possible future life plans (obviously nothing too deep, it was a first date); she really didn't seem to have much interest in life. She wanted to be an engineer because she liked money and was good at maths (which is fine, not everyone has careers they love), her hobbies were too reclusive to me (and sure this is a subjective take, not objective), she had no real structure or knowledge about herself, it…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 03:27 AM

In essence, yes. Dating is closely tied to intimacy and attraction, and consent is key to all three; consent comes first, and if you only consent to be involved with people who meet your standards, regardless of what they are, then no one can do anything about it, that's just how it is. Which sane person argues otherwise?

Nuance is very real, and it's a sorely lacking concept on this sub. It is unreasonable to blame all men collectively for the actions of war-crazed world leaders who're desperate to keep the meat-grinder running. Putin's or Trump's or Xi's or Modi's or any world leader's follies aren't my follies. The aforementioned statement is relevant for other scenarios; for example, when talking about violent crime statistics, yes men are the more common victims, but men are also largely the perpetrators. No…

We have GOT to stop asking ridiculous hypotheticals on this subreddit my god
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 09:20 AM

It honestly feels like a bait question, like, how is this complicated logic in any way?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 09:17 AM

Neither of those questions would be off-putting, but it's clear they're litmus test questions, which isn't bad, the initial stage of dating is about vetting. While asking questions upfront is necessary, I like having my first-dates in a museum or art gallery, because they're fun and it's also a nice way to find out about a person's capacity for intellectual conversation and asking them about their viewpoints in an entertaining way.

You can find examples of heinous behaviour in every demographic, the point is to ask how many instances of such behaviour are statistically significant enough for us to consider the whole demographic as toxic. In a gas, a single molecule may have a kinetic energy on the far-right end of the Boltzmann curve, but there's a good fucking reason the temperature of the gas doesn't reflect that single molecule's energy, it's a macroscopic property of the overall average kinetic energy of the molecules.…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 09:08 AM

I'm not. I'm genuinely getting rammed up the arse by classes this term. I have a specific body goal I want to reach by the summer, and I don't feel confident enough in myself to date until I read my desired physique. I'm not fat or ugly, I've just been away from my peak physique for a while, and I don't feel sexy and self-confident unless I have that kind of body. It's not something that crosses my mind most of the time.

If I've had a long day and I'm tired as shit, it's not unreasonable for me to eat some food, put my plate in the sink and say "Hey I'm fucking exhausted, I'm heading to bed, I'll clear this up next morning". What is unreasonable is letting your house get increasingly messy and staving off chores for an arbitrary future date. I don't like doing the laundry, because my place doesn't have a dryer and it's a pain in the ass to hang clothes manually when I'm busy for most of the day, but I have a res…
