My parents think the same thing. When I've brought up how male circumcision is wrong they get defensive because they chose to have me cut. This is a key problem people face that I think we need to own up to culturally. We are psychologically disposed to defend our decisions and beliefs even when it is irrational to do so. Perseveration is a common trait of people who have undeveloped prefrontal cortices. The kid probably would have repeated any behavior regardless of its nature, and I highly doubt the kid was infused with sexual desire and lust for the girl.

Looking into it, pulling up some of the names listed on http://shoememorial.com/gallery/?pid=26 some of these victims, particularly those with end dates of 1982/1983 were victims of Gary Ridgway "The Green River Killer" who was born in Utah. E.g. Shawnda Summers, Alma Smith, etc.. Its unclear where the rest of the 700 names come from as many of these names have no online history at all. "Jihad" is the Arabic word for "struggle" and I saw this as political satire aimed at reclaiming the word. I.e. "a joke" Probably a similar reason why they named their son "Jihad"
