I guess that's a line which is blurred here very often when talking of "Dark Triad" traits. Sure, people say narcissism is good. But NPD or BPD are serious disorders where you have a very fractured sense of self. People tend to idealize the outer veneer that narcissists are able to show, but don't realize what happens when all that grandiosity turns out to be false.

I think that 80's rom-com "When Harry Met Sally..." has a good perspective on this.

Yeah. I guess I just want to put it out there that validation in excess in all forms can lead to both of these behaviors in men and women. A way to build true confidence, by actually getting out and doing stuff (not women), would obviate the need for constantly chasing all of these plates and stuff. I am of the perhaps inane belief that women riding the carousel and men spinning plates is a consequence of their own insecurity. Why do we spin plates? Sure vagina feels good, but I think it's that …

Oh, it is not that I am against juggling women. Just the opposite. But why do I do it? Because it is validating. It makes me feel good about myself that women think I am confident and sexy enough to get them. But, though it is easier for a woman to ride the carousel than for a guy to spin plates...I would argue that the feeling you get out of it is similar. If anything the validation men get out of it is greater than what women get out of it, because it is an active effort for men. My argument i…

All this advice is about fucking other women. I'm wondering if maybe I do not possess the same brain as my brethren here. Because, my advice would be to remove yourself from women altogether for a while. Hang out with your friends and remind yourself that there are some bonds which are permanent, and that is with your family and your male friends.

The lock/key analogy is preposterous. Girls do it for validation. Men do it for validation/ "the hunt". You can blather about locks all day long. But that feeling in your mind is similar in both places. It feels good to be wanted and to get what you want. Don't be delusional. Do not tell me that it is respectable having a dude spend all his time juggling women. What a waste of one's free time.

As the other comments in this thread echoed, empathy is not a desirable trait here. It's about getting back at women for some perceived slight. This subreddit is something easy to internalize for a lot of men. It paints things in black and white and draws a line in the sand saying this is what women are, and this is what men should be. For example, as someone who actually knows people with NPD, I would say that people on the RedPill adoring these narcissistic traits is kind of silly. Because whe…

I found that men/women who had kids always had an innate ability to just buckle down and get down to work and do anything that needed to be done to get that good grade/network or whatever. I think its ludicrous how men here believe women are not as intelligent as men. I have no idea where that ridiculous idea came from. Either way, it's just false.

That's good that you put no effort into learning and excel. Kudos. Though, I will tell you, the girls in my engineering undergrad had an average GPA over .4 higher on a 4 point scale (we looked at the data in a class). Which you could chalk up completely to more study hours, but I never saw that personally. I think men in STEM usually pursue the extracurricular aspects more, or do it in their free time. Like build robots in shop and all that. There are exceptions, but women succeed more academic…

Some people enjoy that. I think OP is similar to myself, where perhaps we don't want to just have sex with someone and have fun with someone but want a connection much more than the surface level. Of course, this is incongruous with much of what you read here, especially about sharing your experiences and feelings with women. It leaves a lot of people reading this stuff feeling torn. Personally, I feel empty after having a purely physical relationship with a girl. Not validated. I don't feel lib…

I know this is a late reply, but calculus actually went over a revolution in the 20th century, in the form of rigorous analysis . Also, the theory of statistics (built on calculus) was created in the 20th century. Analysis involved proving every trivial and miniscule finding of calculus starting with the existence of one solution to 1+1 =2. Unification of algebra and topology to form one cohesive theory of functions. Based upon how this relates to this. An approach based upon statistics and like…

I was responding to the ubiquitous notion here that there is only one type of woman and many types of men. I was using the fact that there are many intelligent (hence the IQ reference) women I know that do not follow at all the Red Pill paradigm. Sexual strategy of this form does not work on these sorts of women. Much to the chagrin of many people on this subreddit, truly interesting women appreciate a well-read man to a jacked guy who gets laid every weekend. While I do agree (because I read RP…

Well IQ is purportedly a test which follows a normal distribution perfectly. In that case half of the people would be below and half above. The median would equal the mean. I guess if you took out people who, unfortunately, have mental handicaps and aren't people we tend to interact with on a daily basis...intelligence would follow a distribution like you are referring to. In that case, I definitely agree with you. Regardless, there are plenty of intelligent women. I am so sick of this sub gener…

O.K. I'm with you for the first sentence, and the second sentence. So do men's and there is no statistically significant difference between men and women's IQ. (as you know). The claims that men have better abstract reasoning and math skills than women are tenuous at best. Women have actually had higher standardized math scores than men in recent years. Women also have on average higher GPA's when compared to their male counterparts when correcting for choice of major. I'm a grad student at a go…

You're cute. Most people can't be between average to below average. Then it wouldn't be an AVERAGE. Then the average would be newly defined between those values. You don't understand 5th grade math. Cynicism about the world can only take you so far. If that's all you're willing to see, you will be blinded to the truly exceptional. The world is sad, the world is awful, these are ideas I connect with as well. But, by brooding and stewing in these feelings, how does that make YOU rise above it? I d…

Right . Very good. The average defines people on average. That means unless the population IQ is a delta function at the mean, there is variability. And there is. I've met myriad intelligent women. I bet the great intellectual monolith "smokingmonkey420" 's achievments supercede everything done by every female thinker ever. Right. Here's one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingrid_Daubechies You wouldn't be able to look at your reddit meme's in beautifully compressed JPEG without her math. But, I u…

Trite expressions do not create an argument. Take your puritan views back to Plymouth Rock, shit. You're the kind of guy who probably believes there's never been an intelligent woman in the existence of humanity while you yourself have absolutely no captivating thoughts yourself.

I think that it's fascinating how men on the Red Pill can claim that there is only one type of woman. But more than 1 type of man. It's kind of trivializing the human brain and it's complexity. But, this place is anti-intellectual. What is the point of even pursuing women if they are just a vagina? You may as well just buy a fleshlight and be done with holding frame and all that shit. The one thing that is true about this subreddit is that women, on the whole, do act similarly to how RedPill say…

You're totally out of your element. Stop bro'ing around. You have no idea what real depression is. No amount of alpha confidence replaces knowledge from a book. Pathetic display.

In this case, my sister had no idea what that was and was told in explicit terms from this guy about how he was "Red Pill". She had never heard of the concept before this guy brought it up. Maybe in general you're right, but in this case, no.

My sister mentioned being hit on at a club by a Red Piller a couple of weeks ago. He apparently mentioned how women's value decreases as they age and men's value increases. He used that as justification of why she should give him her number. He actually mentioned the redpill in the first conversation. I don't care what you guys say. If a guy just exists and trolls for chicks at a club at the age of 30 he isn't DHV. A girl can have higher value than a man if she's actually doing something with he…

I guess I can see where you're coming from, but I contend that great thinkers never needed to think about sexual strategy. They were too busy losing themselves in what they were good at. People here should take life lessons from people who truly dedicate themselves to something other than chasing snatch. I guess they are the ideal that RedPillers are working towards, in a sense. Intellectual, aloof, and dominant. While I don't think the intelligent part ever comes into play on this sub. Everythi…

A quote from him which I believe shows he is past the bargaining stage: I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer. Where 'Amor Fati'…
