Or maybe he is in a terribly hurtful and difficult time in his life, and he is trying to make sense of it all. You don't have to agree with what he is saying but you also don't have to attack someone in this position.

Incredibly well said.

I think the idea is that it may provide a distraction, which can be good or bad. Only bad if you never process the pain of the divorce.

Two things that work for me are: 1. Saying to yourself, "I'm ok right now." If you are sitting somewhere safe from harm, it's technically true. 2. Look around the room. Notice one thing that is green, one that is blue, etc. Do it for at least five colors. These are little tricks to snap yourself out of spinning and re-grounding yourself. Good luck, and I'm sorry you are going through this.

Good that's so hurtful. At least cut off all noticeable contact with the affair partner until you leave the home of your husband. I'm sorry man.

This is a great point. All the stuff you are hearing was true for the guy before you.

One criterion; 11 criteria.

You are putting your family through hell. You've already damaged your kids. Try your best to limit the damage and give them whatever version of you is sustainable.

Based on what you have written here, you must already know the answer. I wish the best for you, which certainly sounds like finalizing what she started.

Right, that's why you deleted it. Sorry things haven't worked out.

Sour grapes is an expression from an old fable. There was a guy named Aesoo who wrote a bunch of them. It means you can't win so you say you didn't want to win anyway. I figured it was simple enough that you would understand the reference. In the US the fable is typically read in elementary school. Sorry if it was confusing!

I second this. Anxiety specifically blocks the signal to get a boner, if you'll excuse the medical jargon. Cialis is great because it doesn't just give you a boner no matter what; it helps with the boner-getting when you are turned on. And it lasts for a very long time, so you don't have to worry about popping a pill when you are on a date.

You are somehow combining sour grapes with gloating in response to someone being vulnerable, all in a sub about a shared experience that you've never had. You sir are the most pathetic person on the planet.

Welp, I thought I was done crying until I read this. It means more than you know just to read words of support. Thank you.

Thank you for responding. She's insanely good at keeping the house clean, and can't be happy until it is. I try so, so hard to match her perfectionism but it's simply impossible for me. You are right that I'm beaten down. All I want is to be a good dad and for the approval of my wife. I truly don't care about anything else anymore. I don't know when I became fixated on her approval but it's been like this for a very long time. I've been to a few therapists before in an effort to be a better pers…

Mainly that the angry, bitter feelings I had turned out to be based in real experience, rather than immature selfishness

I will say that when I went from a very skinny 20 something with acne, to a more "normal" body type with a clear face in my late twenties, I noticed the difference in how women treated me and noticed me before I even noticed the gradual change in my appearance. It's sad to think about because I don't want that to be true.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
