Because the narrative from both sides (feminism and trad cons) is that men had all the power before. Feminism views this as a bad thing. Trad cons view it as a good thing. Too many men readly accept feminist history without questioning it so to oppose feminism, they just invert the value judgements.

Men are more successful with every method of suicide, it's not just that they use more lethal methods. The issue is that self harm for women is being misscounted as suicide attempts. Since self harm for men is more about substance or alcohol abuse (both more likely to kill and affect men), self harm is not counted when it's men doing it.
