Actually whether you took dowry or not is not the issue. Just filing a case will land you in jail and you have to prove that “you didn’t ask/harass for dowry?” The entire family including sisters living in other parts of the country, kids around 2 years or 5 years old are also included in the case and have to be arrested. Then you have to prove their innocence. Essentially you are guilty until proven otherwise.

Look at jobs that don’t require expensive degrees from schools. Then learn those skills from internet or long distance courses from open universities like ignou. Jobs like mechanic, programmer, website designer, stock trader etc After having some cushion try to find opportunities to start business. I am Indian and I too don’t see any rape culture here. In a population of 1.3 billion some crimes do happen and they are dealt with very strictly. Also some crimes committed by women like false dowry charges and rape charges are not punished in India because they are not recognised at all. But this is not reported much in Indian media. One single rape will make headlines for days here.

Wow... thank you for your good explanation. I truly believe everyone does everything for their own selfish reasons. I too realised that even I do things you mentioned.
