Both of those analogies are absolutely idiotic.

What The argument is that WHITE MALES are under represented. Much less than 47 percent of law schools are populated by white males. The comment I was responding to here didn't even begin to break down demographics beyond gender. You must be a troll.

So you're saying that white males are more underrepresented than black or hispanic males despite the fact that a higher percentage of white males aged 18-24 are enrolled in degree granting institutions than of black or hispanic males aged 18-24. Got ya.

For the hundred millionth time, those percentages that I referred to are the percentages of the given populations. And I expanded upon that, explaining that, for example, the 38.3% for white males in college was a percentage of all 18-24 year old white males. If that wasn't obvious enough, you could add the percentages together and see a number over 100%! And we don't even have Asians here. Common sense combined with reading comprehension and an open mind can really go along way but is clearly l…

Nope, I definitely have not been talking past you. I think you just don't understand what you're saying or you're warping and spewing out clickbait article titles here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/4l5tjr/law_school_admission_probabilities/d3kk2j0 Where you said: Except that according to statistics white males are the most under represented group in colleges for their percentage of the population. But, because of feminists claiming they're a "privileged" group this actual fact is…

Saw your link. Quote me where I ever asserted that males are not underrepresented and I'll give give you twenty bucks and I'm 100% serious.

The fuck are you talking about? You're clearly the one who doesn't understand math. I'm still waiting on your source that says white males are the most underrepresented group in colleges, though.

Do you even reading comprehension? You said white males are the most underrepresented group in colleges. I checked on this and it is just not true. I didn't stop at disproving you for saying something totally false. I went on to make a statement at how females are clearly overrepresented and how this is a worsening trend. People like you are the radfems of MRA. Arguing facts lmao. But I asked for a source before I looked into it myself. Please, show me the source that says white males are the mo…

However, in 2012-13, women only comprised 47.0% of the student population in law school so this isn't exactly something easily defended. http://www.americanbar.org/content/dam/aba/administrative/legal_education_and_admissions_to_the_bar/statistics/enrollment_degrees_awarded.authcheckdam.pdf

white males are the most under represented group in colleges for their percentage of the population Do you have a source for this? EDIT: Did some fact checking. Not true as of 2012. http://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d13/tables/dt13_302.60.asp The following are percentages of the given population, aged 18-24, enrolled in degree granting institutions White Male: 38.3% White Female: 46.0% Black Male: 33.9% Black Female: 38.7% Hispanic Male: 33.5% Hispanic Female: 41.7% However, this does show a cl…

If you watch this video without my consent, then I hope you reflect on your reasons for objectifying me and participating in my rape, for, in that case, you were the one who couldn't resist the urge to make Ceci N'est Pas Un Viol about what you wanted to make it about: rape. No words for how terrible this woman is.

No. But he is a fucking moron for not understanding where he was. As much as I wholeheartedly believe North Korea presents one of the world's greatest human rights crises right now and as much as I don't condone a punishment like that, I still cannot defend him. He tried to steal a poster in North Korea. He should have known he had this coming.

By acknowledging the societal expectations I am accepting the existence of bias. But why do we just need to stop improving as a human race and decide we don't need to improve quality of life for all individuals anymore? This is also a very natural instinct that can't be ignored. We've come a very long way but that's no reason to say there's no room for improvement. Deciding you're going to use a thesaurus doesn't make your argument any less incoherent and irrational.

This is backwards thinking. 150 years ago in the United States, blacks were enslaved, women couldn't vote and essentially had to stay at home while only men worked. So if you think societal expectations can't be changed, you're flat out wrong.

Ok, how do you want me to demonstrate it? I have to assume you are a fucking hermit if you don't at least see the pressure for men to be breadwinners and for women to be homekeepers, that men are less capable of parenting than women, that women have to sleep their way to the top, that women aren't cut out for STEM fields, that men going into a more nurturing profession are pedophiles, the fact that men get heavier sentences for the same crimes. If this is ok with you, that's cool with me and we …

Nice straw man argument right there. Too bad you didn't even care to check what the word free means but here's a link to the dictionary definition. And in case you need a little help, here's the one that best fits with the word free as I was using it: d : enjoying personal freedom : not subject to the control or domination of another EDIT: lol at the downvotes for pointing out what the word "free" means. This sub has gone to absolute shit.

I agree with you that, on average, there are absolutely gender differences. But how does that invalidate the fact that, on an individual basis, people of both genders face gender discrimination all the time based on these averages. That's the issue - that people are free to do what they want to a certain extent and only if they are willing or able to deal with discrimination based on something they have no control over. My view is that, yes, there are biological gender differences that are basic…

Get fucked. "Doesn't take much thought to realize that". Seriously, this is asinine and unproductive, so congrats for being a fuckwit. Also, I never suggested this was by chance, I suggested it was by choice. Hmm, so calling me a fuckwit is a great response to this. I totally get where you're coming from saying it's by choice. But you provide less factual basis than I did. Self-consistent arguments are a real thing, and while they are difficult to construct, it is my aim to use such arguments wh…

And this is why people hate where this sub is going. You dont have fields in which one gender outnumbers another by a 3:1 ratio by chance. It doesn't take much thought to realize that. As for the other point, it is one of a number of factors I can thinkn of off the top of my head without looking deeply into it. Capitalism surely has a role in it too with production jobs dominated by males. You can't just look at numbers and ignore what they're saying. You can't ignore the real life pressures tha…

Ehhh it's still a lot about breaking down gender expectations. That's the real reason for the wage gap - men are expected to go into higher paying jobs while the jobs women are expected to go into tend to be lower paying. It could be debated that this was the result of a woman's work being less valued but everything points to men and women getting equal pay for equal work.

There are reasonable feminists and there are illogical feminists. Same with MRAs. But I think the fact that we are even able to have this discussion here is a very good thing. In my opinion, feminism and MRM ideally should work together as proponents of equality, not of ignoring gender problems for half of the population.

Right? I mean I don't necessarily have a personal problem with this video because I believe it is freedom of expression. But it's ridiculous when this video receives praise while songs and videos such as Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines are used as examples of our society's misogyny. Blank Space leaves far less to the imagination than Blurred Lines.

Did you know most laws regarding statutory rape are different depending on the age difference between the two partners? With that in mind, I think the set age of consent is not a huge issue so long as there are common sense laws where, say, a 17 year old can't commit statutory rape against a 16 year old.
/r/MensRights23/10/14 05:54 PM

Exactly. There is a big difference between being too drunk to realize there was no consent and both being too drunk to even realize what they're doing. The issue is proving it because it seems like there is a double standard where only women cannot consent if they're drunk.

Exactly. This is the paragraph that I literally said "what the fuck" out loud to. I don't think anyone is saying that Hope Solo is why nothing should change - people are talking about it because of the blatant double standard there is between men and women in relation to violent crime.

Black men are not rolling onto college campuses and into movie theaters on a regular basis to shoot large numbers of people. Uhhh, white men certainly aren't either. Nobody is doing this on a regular basis but how about we stop trying to pin this on a group and instead talk about the real issue: the treatment, prevention, and attitudes towards mental illness.

I don't see why it's so hard for so many people to not be for equality for everyone but rather equality for certain groups. If you only focus on certain groups, it's almost always going to be at the expense of other groups.

I think much of it also has to do with the simple fact that men have a higher intelligence range than women do. There are going to be more highly intelligent males than females and nothing can be done to change this. I don't understand why facts like this as well as other known differences between both genders and races are such taboo. You cannot have equality if you don't understand the differences and realize that different groups of people truly are a little different.

That was a skatepark. Skateparks aren't playgrounds for 4 year olds to be running around in. She put her child in danger by letting him go around with minimal supervision and then had the audacity to assault a guy who accidentally crashed into him.

Really? It's not like he ever agreed to have sex with her then realized he fucked up after... he kept refusing and tried to get her off of him and she knocked him out. Don't think it can be more blatant rape than that but nonetheless, it will be tough to prove since he's a guy.

I find it hard to believe that men are taking their lives because of lacking emotional support from the society. I'm leaning towards a far more tangible explanation; the actual issues. Of course the actual issues are the root cause but how can you not see the essential unavailability of emotional support for males as a big reason it leads to suicide?
/r/MensRights15/07/13 10:48 AM

I don't think that second point is irrelevant at all. Male disposability and men feeling worthless is something nobody talks about because "men aren't supposed to feel that way". Therefore, it only compounds on the feelings of worthlessness because "you aren't supposed to feel that way" and there really is nobody to talk to.
