Aside from any awkwardness if things go tits up, I think the most important factor is why you are hooking up with someone at work. If there is someone amazing who happens to work with you then that is great. If you are hooking up with someone at work because you don't have many other options (which is true for many office romances), then that is a different matter. Thanks for backing me up. :) Yer, if I was making something up she definitely would have ended up in my bed! :) The story is true and like you say, it's not a real success when you look at it like that, just an interesting experience. That's cool you lived in Cali and ran into people like that. As that proves, just like anyone else, celebrities are only as 'high value' as we make them. :)

I'm trying to work out when HP4 was released but I don't know so I'll let it slide! :) I personally have never thought Emma Watson was as incredibly hot as everyone makes out and that might have played a part in how it went so well for me. I think if it had been someone like Angelina Jolie I might have found it a lot harder to keep my composure for so long. :)

Hi. I sent her a fairly half-arsed text the next day but didn't receive a response and wasn't too fussed by that point. I did think about calling and whether I should bring up what had happened in the bar but I didn't want to end up some kind of celebrity stalker haha! :)

If you befriend the guy well and don't make it obvious you are 'picking up' then it is a lot easier than you might think, especially when phrased in a leading way like I did. :)

I agree completely. Being treated like a normal human being must be a blessing for some mega celebrities and that definitely seemed to be the case with my story. Didn't Emma Watson go to University in America? I imagine there are loads of amusing stories of guys trying to hit on her around campus. I heard a story that whenever she said something in lectures, someone would always shout out "10 points to Gryffindor!"

Only the napkin message and the 10 - 15 friends of mine that witnessed it all. You'll just have to believe me otherwise I'm afraid! :) I guess if anyone has a way of finding out if Emma dated a bloke called Jay that might confirm a few details (celebrities are normally quite private about their relationships though so I'm not sure).

good point. I can normally remember the main stages and significant pieces of dialogue (like the ones I highlight in my story) but remembering a full interaction verbatim is practically impossible. In this case, I did chat to Sheriff and Rokker (other Love Systems instructors) on msn as soon as I got home that night and they made me write out as much as I could remember, so I did have quite a few notes to read back over.

Thanks for backing me up and I'm glad you like the story. I haven't actually compared any signatures yet (I guess I will in a minute when I reach the other replies) but it is definitely real. You're right, I don't really consider the 'pickup' a success. I guess success would be defined by getting the end-goal you want from a particular interaction (sex, relationship, practice, new friends etc). In this case I guess I was hoping to meet her again and make some good contacts, which never happened.…

Haha thanks for writing out a summary. :) Hopefully people realise the baby-steps involved in getting to each of the above points. Isolating and getting her phone number were actually both remarkably easy because I wasn't a threat or weird to anyone.

Haha unfortunately I wasn't there at that point to mock her handwriting. I definitely would have done! :) If anyone can track down another example of her signature for verification then that could be useful. I'm off to bed now so I'll have to leave some of you skeptics to do that detective work yourselves! :)

I assure you it isn't. I'm not sure what strategy of Mystery's you mean as I haven't read the Game since it first came out (unless you're speaking of the M3 model in general). The only specific routine I used was the secret handshake one I described, which is something we used to teach on Love Systems bootcamps back when I instructed with them. Thanks. Definitely, although the problem here is that this guy wasn't part of my crew at all. I was introduced to him at the beginning of the night and had spoken to him for two minutes at most. I've thought long and hard about how I could have handled it better but I'm not sure I could have. You're right though about having a good crew out with you. A good wingman could have perhaps taken care of my 'friend' for me.

I live in London so I've mostly done bootcamps here and around Europe. The only ones I did with those two were in 2007, before Cajun was on Keys to the VIP and got 'famous', so I doubt we've crossed paths. If I'm ever over in Toronto I'll give you all a shout. :)

Great point! It's so easy when guys learn this stuff to become "too big for your boots" so to speak and come across as arrogant. 'Real men' are notably empathetic and compassionate as well as the typically masculine traits.

I agree with pretty much everything you wrote. I especially agree with the part about being open-minded and testing and experiencing different advice rather than taking anything as gospel. Your journey actually has a lot of similarities to mine, even down to instructing for Love Systems for a while. Who were you mainly doing bootcamps with? I've instructed on a bunch of Mr M's bootcamps and a couple with Tenmagnet/Cajun amongst others. Nice write-up. :)

Dressing as a pimp would work pretty well, or anything else you can roleplay with.
