Everybody has their story. Winning friends and influencing people is about drawing that story out of them. Perhaps if you didn't pre-judge, you might have a better chance.
That's a bit unfair. The way someone was brought up forms their initial character.For those whose upbringing lacked training in the social graces, then of course they need to learn it from somewhere. I like the fact that someone has had to learn, because it means they genuinely/freely choose it.
