Yeah Kavanaugh is totally screwed for life and will never get another job. 4 credible victims came forward and made independent allegations that ended up matching in character, and as a result there's just absolutely no way to know if maybe one of them was lying, and so he lost every hope of ever being a judge again.... That's exactly the point, he didn't make any sort of formal report, only a public accusation with no intention of making it sound serious... If a woman did that here in the UK, she could easily be sued for slander... Until someone actually points to a similar case with the gender swapped... We shouldn't be jumping to conclusions just because were looking at it through the lens of Men's Rights. Its the same thing I say to feminists, not everything is necessarily due to the patriarchy.

I agree in principle, I just don't think those examples are anywhere near equivalent. This was a public joke about a serious issue with a member of the faculty. I'm not sure how many women treat it as a joking matter. Yes, gender roles probably play a part, but sexism bases on those roles doesn't necessarily come into it... UNLESS there is a similar case I've not heard of.

Important issue to raise. Whilst we generally paint men as the targets of biased sentencing trends, in specific cases women do get the shorter end of the stick. Ideally all crimes punishments should be blind to the gender of offenders.

The public only have that right through the judicial system, we call this due process. Yes I agree with the principle that you should be able to choose not to associate with false accusers... But putting this info out in public without convictions can only lead to judgement of the alleged perpetrators. This may not be too severe... But its still contradictory to due process.

Without an equivalent case to compare it to with reversed genders, its hard to be sure this is gender based discrimination. I'm not aware of any cases where a girl making a sarcastic twitter accusation of misconduct was then taken seriously. It seems the manner in which the "accusation" was made is more important than the gender... But we just don't know without s comparable swapped gender situation...

Why all the drama? Because one of the key principles here is "Innocent until proven guilty". This list in its current iteration would give members of the public the powers to determine the guilt of someone based purely on public opinion (and depending on detail, punish them as well). Well, to be fair, anyone in either camp could spot the hyperbole was going a bit too far. It was Joe Public that had no way of knowing, and Joe public that generated the majority of the outrage. Upvotes on a link don't seem like an indication of "The MRM getting trolled". I think most people just found it mildly amusing how so many members of the general public were blaming it on feminism gone mad. Personally I think its a shame since it doesn't really achieve anything positive (IMO)... but hey after the mainstream feminism attacks on Men's rights recently, can't say I blame people who feel a bit bitter over it.

Consent can be withdrawn at any point before the act. This is something we should all agree on. Consent shouldnt be able to be withdrawn after the act... But during the act is a tougher one.

You may be misrepresenting the statements here. Your original post that sparked the debate was: "If she's dancing in front of you she wants you to look" This explains the shocked reaction from other posters much more adequately. That is a very strong reason to reject those aspects or proponents of feminism. That case is probably a pretty average example of when feminism is taken beyond just striving for equality. We should recognise it as such and not as an excuse to completely ignore the views of others.
