Natalie almost judges him for crap but then says it's great because they are so different from each other.

He made a comment in Mexico along the lines of "We have great emotional connection but not physical. It feels like I'm with an aunt". You know he is just with her because she is Indian and she is willing to put up with his shallow behaviour.

I found it so so problematic that Iyanna just kept reaching the right conclusion and laughing it off! Like she'd say couple of HV stuff and then go back to laughing about how "perfect" they are. Girl, you are delusional!

Omg yes, when he and Natalie talked about how she's an introvert and it drains her energy to be always socially active, he made a comment again about "sucking her energy out by being who he is". Not to forget the gaslighting he pulled off in the pods when he named the wrong girl. I don't know why Natalie went ahead with the engagement after that tbh.

I miss Cameron from s1 so much. Like, him being there gave me hope that you can find practical, sensible, realistic men out in the wild. All the men this season are a little off. Shake especially, he just seems so dead inside. I noticed the extra gossipy tendency of Nick too, and it disappointed me because otherwise I felt that he was mostly understanding and reasonable with Danielle.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. It happened to me to me too, and I ended up being gaslit so much that I thought I was going crazy. Hope you're doing well now ❤️

I often notice that people with low self-esteem tend to project their insecurities on the people around them. They might not do it maliciously, but it can be pretty exhausting to have to constantly reassure someone that they are enough. Also something I have seen is a lot of men who aren't confident tend to start resenting their partners, and treating them with indifference or worse, spite. It is all a part of projection, of course. So maybe the statement is true IF the person handles their own …

Hey I just started watching the second season and noticed a lot of the women and kinda good-looking men were just there, we did not get any footage of them in the pods. I particularly wanted to see how one of the women handles the plus-size type discussions, and she didn't even show up. Also, did you notice how even though it is about love "being blind", the men asked a lot of questions that could give them an idea of how the women looked. Like, the weight stuff didn't need to discussed unless i…

Love your energy here! I'm stealing that museum line, need to write it down someplace visible so it's a reminder every time I think about settling for some lazy, 9-in-1 soap user.

Totally understand what you mean. I used to dress exclusively for others (not just men, for my girlfriends too, always taking into consideration if they will approve of my outfit). And it was so exhausting because well, I was uncomfortable most of the time, and even though I got some praise/attention it wasn't enough. Imagine putting in so much time, effort and money into something and all you get is one person saying "Cute". This is going to sound quite stupid but one time I bought this top tha…

The way he said "damaged" and screamed out the "BE NICE". Gaslighter through and through. He will find a nice girl, manipulate her into thinking he has high standards and she is the one he chose, and the moment she shows any emotion other than "nice" he will try to destroy her self-esteem, call her crazy and label her "damaged". Ladies, beware. There is no winning with men like him.

I know a lot of my peers who are men who like this show. It is watched as a thriller, murder show and clearly it is about a very specific type of psychopath. None of my male friends were even remotely offended. This guy is so delusional if he thinks using the word mansplain and calling out white-male privilege is bigoted. Even the actors agree that the characters are problematic and need no defense.

The butthurt though, it is funny that he thinks he can judge the whole writing team for a show that has been successfull for three seasons. And the fact that he mentioned the 2 women were childless, what has that to do with badly written male characters? He's clearly trying to make a political statement out of something that is art. Imagine feeling this passionately about a show.

Ahh idk, the mental health subs aren't very safe for a woman I feel. Back in 2019, I was having a really hard time and posted sth in one. In 2 hours, I got so many weird chat requests and most of them were variations of men targetting me because I'd sounded vulnerable in the post. I'd mentioned my age as well in the post, which turned out to be an obvious mistake. I was so creeped out, ended up deleting that account. I agree, we really need a female-only space to discuss/compare solutions. Maybe…

I have made this custom feed where I have only a few subs- FDS, two related to work (I'm a dentist), two for the Sims (I play it a lot plus it's really inspiring to see other people's builds and creativity), and the general food sub. I used to follow a bunch of other subs like history and book-series-related, but on most of them I've seen men objectify, make weird unrelated sexual jokes, mansplain, or straight up harass people. Ever since I created this feed tho, I only see what I want to see - …

Well done, choosing your health and peace is so important. Aiming for more financial security is great but not at the cost of your well-being. My sister recently switched from a field job where she was earning more but the working hours were crazy, to a more relaxing desk job where she gets to choose her hours. The pay is slightly less, but I've never seen this content since she started working. 10 kgs is a lot! Great progress. That requires a lot of self-control, so impressed that you stuck to …

Ahh this is so inspiring! I have follow-up questions, if you're okay answering. How was the experience of freezing your eggs? How did you plan for it? Any tips on levelling up appearance-wise? I think this has more to do with how people around are responding to your new awareness and boundaries. Like, a lot of women around me are still in unhealthy relationships and/or trying to navigate casual dating scenes. So in comparison to them, I feel like I'm too strict, too uptight about my standards/the men I allow in my life. I see my friends go out on dates every Friday night and wonder if I should have said yes to that one guy who didn't seem problematic otherwise but was obsessed with Br…

I stumbled upon this show while looking for good sitcoms tbh. The shift in lighting and mood is so brilliant in the show, I loved it. Wasn't a big fan of the Sam angle because I felt it would incriminate her more at the end. But love Annie Murphy's acting!

I'd love for it to stay as pure female friendship because both of them need each other to get out of their individual situations. The begrudging respect + Patty's character build up is so so real.

Exactly this. I visibly saw the change in my last relationship. I knew I had high libido and was always pretty enthusiastic in the bedroom but then I just stopped wanting to do anything. At the time my ex blamed it on my meds (I was on antidepressants), and I believed him but it was actually because of the constant disrespect outside the bedroom that made me feel used. The sex was also boring, by which I don't mean not kinky enough but just, no foreplay, no build-up. It felt more like a chore th…

Before FDS, I'd kind of shrug and feel awkward, change the subject or something. But they'd know they got to me. Now after FDS, I just laugh. If they bring it up more than twice, I look them in the eye and say "Because I have high standards". If it's a pickme, they tend to get uncomfortable. It's a dude, they get conscious and try to act high value around me, which is sometimes funny.

I have been asked this a lot since I broke up and I've noticed it's usually the not so good-looking or smart/interesting guys who ask me this question. I feel like this tactic runs in the same vein as the "No one gets you like I do" stuff that abusers often spout.

This is one of the most insightful posts I've seen on here today. I am like you, used to be a big fan of the "friends to lovers" trope. I'd read/watch these romances and wonder when I'd get my version of it. As a result, I ended up getting strung along by a lot of men who didn't really want me but loved the attention I'd give them so didn't let me go. All of my relationships have started as friendships and gosh, they have ended in a lot of cringe and unnecessary pain. Worst part of this self-imp…

This is exactly what happened to me. I was so much healthier before I started dating my ex, I took my meds on time, had better control over my episodes and in fact, felt like I was heading towards recovery. That guy- I don't even know where to start. He told me I was not even bipolar, that I had been misdiagnosed, that he had a friend who was "actually" bipolar and my symptoms did not match. This. I read a lot of high fantasy and epic fantasy novels, and since most of them are written by male authors it is hard to find relatable, healthy female characters. The ones that I do come across are so thoroughly pornified by the fans that I feel weird even mentioning them after a while. There was this one particular powerful, smart queen in a series that I loveddd, even more so because she shows zero romantic interest and is all about fighting the good fight. I've been listening to The Man by Taylor Swift on loop the last two days and gosh- I want to plaster the lyrics all over my Instagram. We fight so hard every day just to be on the same level, just to be treated humanely at our jobs. And one day, if you are too tired or not in the mood to fight, all the hard work crumbles. All they remember is that one time you showed weakness. How much longer do we have to put up a hundred walls, be extra careful, carry multiple supplies, keep our eyes and ears …

This is something I often struggle with, so thank you for the reminder! Spent more than enough time worrying if he's interested or just flirting because he's bored. And these weren't even men I was that interested in, but peer pressure and my own internalized misogyny insisted that I should everyone a fair chance. No more. If he's interested, he'll ask me out properly- till then all flirting is going to be dismissed as boredom.

Cannot agree more! Something I've also noticed is that most of this "unconditional" love quickly turns conditional when it's convenient for them like oh you don't like my porn obsession, you think I should contribute more to chores, then you are overreacting and a nag and not deserving of love. Unconditional love is just an excuse for toxic people to get away with their behaviour. Women have been tricked into this unnecessarily romanticised version of love through books and movies where you take…

I strongly believe in this. If you are in a relationship, it's your responsibility to not cheat. The "other woman" has probably been fed lies or doesn't even know you exist. Of course, there are instances where they do and are just displaying pickme behaviour but that's still not on the same level as cheating.

That's what. I didn't realise until too late that it's just a manipulation tactic to put you down and under their thumb. Being thought of as uncool was such a dread-inducing scenario for me before. Now I am happy I have something more to my personality than just being a cool girl.

One time, in his manic driving phase he hit a man on a bicycle and didn't even stop to say sorry or help him get back up. When I tried to get him to stop, he banged the steering wheel so hard I was genuinely scared for my life. Most of the time, I remember being thrown around the seat (I am on the smaller side size-wise) even with the belt on. Now I either drive myself or refuse to sit shotgun. Anyway, I don't go out with men in a car alone any more.

I know right?! Why is the word cool synonymous with a blumbering misogynist? This, so much. Setting boundaries is not uncool, having opinions that differ is not uncool. I have to remind myself every day of this because the people-pleasing is so ingrained: most of us grew up thinking the key to being cool is being okay with any shit thrown your way. It feels wrong sometimes to even consider speaking up. That's why FDS rules and this sub are so important.

Get the joke, funny yes, but I get really suspicious of men my age who don't have social media accounts (I'm 23) because it either means they like to be "private" which usually ends up being weirdly secretive about dates or they have secret accounts where they follow only girls they find attractive or porn stars. I prefer going out with men who do have accounts so it's easier to vet them based on what/who they follow.
