I don't think we should assume that a person gets unwanted physical attention because of something they did. That's like saying girls get sexually assaulted because they gave signals to that guy.

Yep, I just have to find a ring I like and then I think with our tax return we'll do a small wedding. I'm excited.

How long did you date before clarifying exclusive commitment? I guess a week. Did you have sex first? Yes. Was it you who pushed for commitment or was it him? Me. Is he significantly more or less attractive than you, or approximately the same? He is much more attractive. How old are both of you? 21 and 25, 18 and 22 when we got together.

My boyfriend is always the object of female attention. How I feel about it depends on how I feel about myself. Is it swimsuit season and I feel good about my body and we had sex last night? I'm flattered that my boyfriend is objectively attractive, it's an ego boost. Am I pregnant, fat, emotional, bad hair day, or I have a pimple? I feel jealous and sad. It just really depends.

Number 4 so much. The tingles from our first kiss and so on are one of my most common daydreams.

Work on your appearance, don't date people you aren't attracted to, do what you can to attract the kind of people you want to be dating.

Sorry, accidentally sent it too early. 6., Yes, I shouldn't have said unplanned, I didn't mean to make it sound like he magically appeared or it wasn't my responsibility. I was on antibiotics for kidney infections for several months and that is how I learned that hormonal birth control can be affected by antibiotics. But it's 100% my fault for not knowing that, I should have asked my doctor, it was ignorant not to.

It could be my diet and occasional insomnia, you're right. I tend to eat a huge unhealthy meal once a day, I have way too much caffeine, and I have a hard time falling asleep for the first couple hours. I need to start eating better. Salem is an overall happy baby who never really cries unless he wants to be held, so I don't know if his wakefulness is just how he is or not. There's no indication that anything is wrong... We don't pay for the Netflix or anything else like that. It is my parents' …

Thank you so much for all of this. I really appreciate it. I have one question, do you have a good source or some ideas for how I could get started making dinner with a crock pot? I've never done it, to be honest most of the things I make are baked or fried.

He kisses me before he leaves for work in the morning. He sends me lovey texts while he's at work. When he comes home he brings me little things like chocolate or flowers. He's not too shy to tell me what I should do with my hair, clothes, makeup so it will look the best and he'll critique what I need to do better. He is just the most selfless person. :)

I can definitely look into a mom group, I'm part of one on Facebook so maybe one of them lives near me. Unfortunately, both of our families have tight work schedules and his mom is busy basically raising her other grandchild so that his sister can be an irresponsible teenager, and I'd hate to burden her more. We do have Saturday nights alone together when my parents take him, so we're not constantly busy. :)

That's a great idea. Right before shower and bath time would be the best, I think. I'm gonna go do that now!

Yes, I have been exercising again recently. On the days I exercise I feel so much better and sleep great, but sometimes I just forget to (my memory is terrible since Salem was born). I think what I need to do is tape a note to the front door. I see where you're coming from about balancing the work and my attitude. I sat down and got it all done right after I made this post, but tomorrow I might just take an off day since I have so many places to go.

Oh right, I agree with all of that. When I said that, I was thinking of a situation where a man and woman are already having consensual sex and then they come upon a certain act where a man has to decide if her verbal no is really a no. If they're having consensual sex up to that point then it's safe to assume that she is capable of using nonverbal communication. Unless she's paralyzed and then you'd only have her word.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/16 01:08 AM

Eh, I guess you're right. I'd hate for some guy to listen to me and get it wrong and traumatize a random girl because I said I like something specifically with my boyfriend because we know each other well. That would be terrible.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/16 12:54 AM

Eh, if you don't feel comfortable with having to read body language then you can always just take a no at face value.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/16 12:37 AM
1

Yeah, I guess in our case, I trust him to know the difference between a "no" with words and a "no" with body language and not actually hurt me. But then he trusts me to never use what we do against him and destroy his life. In return for our trust in each other, we get to do things we think are fun. For most it may not be worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/16 12:35 AM
2

So you're saying someone being raped isn't exhibiting body language that says, "no"? I don't understand.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/16 12:19 AM
2

Totally. That could definitely happen. As long as we're happy together though, it won't. Trust is a big thing to give someone and it can always hypothetically backfire but it feels really good to trust someone completely.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/16 12:17 AM
1

Not true. I never outright said that "no" and "stop" aren't safewords. My boyfriend just understood based on my body language.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/16 11:36 PM
3

If he thinks it wasn't rape and she does, then he didn't read her body language. If he had been paying attention to it, he would have stopped. So yes, that is what body language is for.

Well over time we've worked toward more "non-consensual" consent acts, I guess you'd call them. In the beginning of course neither of us were comfortable enough to do things like that, but he knows where the line is and how much he can cross it before it's no longer a turn on and is legitimately something I do not want.

There's nothing that turns me on faster than when I say "nooooo" and my boyfriend goes, "uh huh" and does whatever it is anyway.

That's what safe words are for. And body language.

At the moment I am a stay at home mom to our six month old while I get through my diagnostic sonography program. I think racism would cause the men in Tribe A to attack the men in Tribe B, for fear that if they don't attack first, then the Tribe B men will come and take their women. If they strike first and succeed, which they are likely to since they are driven by primal need and their cause is important to them, then racism reaches biological prevalence. If Tribe A men are docile and don't fear other tribes, then they won't see it coming when Tribe B men come and take their women, and the aren't prepared…

How did they prove people didn't lie?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/16 08:06 PM

That's the point, you can't prove people don't lie by asking people participating in a study not to lie, or if they lie. There's zero incentive to tell the truth.

Cute or good-looking, often. Probably 40% of men I come into contact with, I would consider cute or good-looking. Sexy or handsome men, very rarely. I'd say 10% maybe. Also these percentages are overlapping, so it's like 60% not very attractive, 30% cute or something like that, 10% holy shit.

I was not cute growing up at all. Acne, weird bushy hair, nose bigger than my face, thick eyebrows, etc. Something changed around the time I turned 17 and suddenly guys wanted to be with me. I wasn't used to the male attention. Before I was attractive, I used to date ugly guys because they were nice to me, not because of any attraction I actually had toward them. Okay. I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll just list some things I'm embarrassed of. I used to get mad at my boyfriend when he didn't want to hear about my sexual past, which he didn't ask about, I just talked about it way too much, by the way. My thinking then, "Oh, I'm a slut? Am I dirty and used up now, and you have to pretend I'm a virgin to love me?" My thinking now: Why am I blasting all this information he didn't ask for in his face? What do I get out of it? My relationship with my boyfriend is better since we began to read TRP. He's still not abusive, he still doesn't hate me, I think he's amazing, and we're both better partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/16 07:28 PM

And that is very saddening, unfortunately I don't really see how that isn't the truth, and for thousands of people it did ring true. But when women read that man's comment, I think they should really internally strive to prove it wrong. Don't bother posting or arguing about how it's wrong unless you see yourself negating it in your relationship, outside the eyes of this subreddit. I think that would be good and eye-opening and helpful for men, if more women were aware that that is how men felt.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/16 06:25 PM

Men give women gifts on Valentine's. "I hope HE gets ME flowers." Men propose to women. "I hope it's romantic and sweet and I hope HE does it soon." "I wonder if he likes me, I why HE hasn't asked to take ME on a date." This isn't outlier female behavior. It's how pretty much all of us think, we grow up taught that he'll do the things, and we'll receive them, and then we act accordingly.

Alright, you can't just make up your own scenario, this isn't some game where you can just make up the rules as you go along, you have to actually put yourself in their shoes, with their means and their risks. What's happening is people are dying. They aren't hiding in bomb shelters and gathering all the canned food and making an underground railroad to safety. They're helpless and they're being killed because someone they don't know is fighting someone else they don't know, and they're getting …

The ends justify the means in the case of human rights. No, this is what I have a problem with, so much of a problem. The ends (saving people who want to be saved) do not justify the means (killing others, just as innocent, but happy with their lives.) Fund whoever you want, help whoever you want, but you cannot kill innocent people and then say, "It was for the greater good because we might have got a bad guy in there somewhere." The question here is, is it oppression if you don't feel oppressed? You should look up Dalia Mogahed, a middle eastern woman who talks about this topic extensively, especially the way that women like her live their lives happily while other women say they're fighting for their freedom and their rights, but really just don't care whether women like Mogahed are happy the way they are or not. Personally, if I had to choose between being raped and being falsely accused of rape, I'd take the rape. I've been there, and it sucked and was horrible and I cried. But is it worse than carrying a stigma you don't deserve for the rest of your life, with everyone looking at you and you know they're thinking you're one of the worst kinds of people, and you lose all your friends, but maybe your parents still love you because they have to? Fuck.

Well how about instead of putting down the women that society sees as most attractive for whatever reason, you just accept that that's how it is. You cannot change what people find attractive, and you shouldn't put down women that just so happen to look that way or go for that look. It's super unnecessary to be that hateful towards someone who's done nothing to you. "No individuality"? "Boring and basic"? That's some misdirected anger right there.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/16 10:09 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/16 09:54 PM

Okay, so let's say that you do have to use a lot of makeup, which you shouldn't, but let's say you do. What's wrong with using any amount of makeup to look like your best self versus to stand out and look completely different? I do both, depending on how I feel, but I definitely don't put people down who choose to do the other just because they don't look how I prefer to look.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/16 09:51 PM

That isn't "no makeup" makeup, try a different photo.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/16 09:47 PM

What do you have against women who like how they look with little makeup? What a terrible attitude.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/16 09:43 PM

It could be argued that "no makeup" makeup only emphasizes the pretty things about your face. Someone wearing that kind of makeup isn't likely to be tricking anyone because the object is to do as little as possible, be as yourself as possible. "This is the best version of myself." When you go all out, falsies, contouring, bold shadows, etc., you are making yourself unrecognizable. "There is a different person under this makeup."

This is interesting. Okay so usually when someone tells a dead baby joke on reddit, I used to just laugh at the absurdity and horribleness of it. Now that I have a baby, I still laugh, but I also get that stomach-dropping nauseated feeling like, "what if that was my baby?" at the same time. The third one I dated because I felt bad for him and he cheated on me probably because I wouldn't have sex with him because he was gross, like didn't shower or brush his teeth gross. The fourth one, same thing. I have learned that I will…

I don't know, I've just never felt comfortable using either of those terms for myself. I've never called myself a victim or a survivor because they both make it seem more traumatic than it actually was for me, I guess. I understand that other people will have a different and more intense reaction to being raped, though.

Eh, I personally find the term kind of weird, unless they tried to kill you while you were being raped. To me "surviving" something should be saved for times when you almost died. Like I wouldn't call myself a rape survivor, I'd just say I've been raped.

Some of the others have pretty much covered it. When people hear the word feminist today, they don't think of reasonable people. They think of loud bitchy people with first world problems. I don't want to be associated with the image that comes into your head when you hear the word feminist. "Your", meaning the average person.

Girls are taught growing up that boys only show an interest in them because they want sex, they're thinking with their dick, etc. It isn't that we aren't told just how much men think about sex. It's that women have started to not like being thought of as the gender that withholds sex and wants it less. We grow up hearing about how once a man gets married, his wife will stop having sex with him because she doesn't need to anymore. The blow job you get on your honeymoon is the last one you'll ever…

I see Christians post on TRP every once in a while, detailing the ways they have implemented RP in their lives and marriages. Edit: Sorry, my point being that TRP is about casual outside-of-marriage sex only when the man who implements RP is looking for that. Take what you need, and leave the rest.

I want someone to have his own world, and then invite me into it, like someone else in this thread said. I don't want someone whose only interest is me, really. That's what I take it to mean. You need to have hobbies and friends and other things you're invested in.

Obviously no one is going to say that out loud, that would be weird. But that's basically what's happening in that situation. If a man came up to me and asked me what women found attractive so that he could try to be that way, and then he employed my advice and tried to get with me, I would still feel the way about him that I felt in the beginning. So yeah, it's not the words being said, it's the underlying intent and just understanding what's really going on.

What do you mean by that?

Women don't want men that need help becoming attractive. They want men who just are, by themselves. I mean, I could see helping out a friend, who likes this other girl and wants her to like him back, with his clothes and hair. But if an unattractive guy came up to me and was like, make me attractive so I can have sex with you, that's a turn off. You've got to come to someone when you're already what they like for it to work.

If he started hitting or cheating on me, if he was abusive to our son, if he gained 200 pounds, if he lost his job and started selling drugs, if he did things that made him much less valuable, I would try to find someone better. How is that disloyal? That's just self respect. How is that different from what a man should do? What SHOULD I do in a situation like that? What would be the loyal thing to do?

It would be stupid to not upgrade if there was one available. I've already done the best I can do, though. There is no upgrade from him, I can't think of anything I wish he did better or more. I mean, he could remember to hang his towel up after he showers? Just don't get with a girl who acts like she deserves you when she doesn't. Get with someone who is scared of the thought of losing you, bam, they try harder.

No, I said there's no way I'll ever do better. And then I said, let's be honest, even if he was like 20% less awesome than he is I'd still never do better. That is the reality of our relationship, which gives him the upper hand and if anyone is leaving anyone, he would leave me.

Oh no, I think you have the wrong idea about what "older" means. I've said older guys are creepy, maybe even in this post. I mean, are you my long lost grandpa? There are a lot of reasons a woman can choose to divorce her husband that aren't "I found someone better." Just because a woman initiates divorce doesn't necessarily mean she's branch-swinging. I don't see how who initiates more has anything to do with who betrayed whom.

In the rare case when a 14 year old can pull off looking 20 through makeup and clothing, that still isn't her actual body. At 20, she'll actually LOOK 20 by herself, so for men who think 14 year olds dressing like 20 year olds are the most attractive, they're really saying 20 is.

When you are confronted with something that puts you in a negative light, it is very hard to not feel upset and hurt about what is being said. Marilyn Monroe was listed by her dressmaker as weighing 118 pounds, and Hollywood Studios tended to list her between 115-120 pounds. Women who are fat use the myth that Marilyn Monroe was fat to say, "See? She was as big as me and everyone loved her! Standards are higher today! Men are the ones who have changed!" Marilyn Monroe was MY weight, and earlier today when I went to visit my mom she told me to eat in front of her because she thought I might be anorexic. What does that say about society?…

Nope, not true. It's just that curvy, and what passes for curvy today, are different things. This is curvy. This is curvy. This is curvy. This is not curvy. This is fat. This is fat. The problem isn't that men expect a thigh gap. The problem is that thigh gaps used to exist, and now they don't. Men haven't changed. Women have.

Also I found that after ejaculation, dopamine levels go down, and then rise back up naturally after a while. Dopamine has been found to be a positive regulator of libido, so I guess it makes sense that when you don't have dopamine, you aren't horny, and then once it has time to replenish, you're horny again.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/16 10:45 PM

Okay here's one on the effects of orgasm on testosterone. It basically says that orgasm has no effect on plasma testosterone, but abstinence does. Granted, this was only ten men, but the experiment was conducted twice.

Yeah, that's why I changed what I said, I didn't mean it to sound like abstinence is the only thing that heightens testosterone, just that it does, and masturbating every other day doesn't affect it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/16 07:26 PM

Higher testosterone levels are only seen with abstinence. Your testosterone level doesn't change after ejaculating, but dopamine levels do. Edit: meh, I should word that differently. Testosterone levels can be higher during abstinence, but are not affected by ejaculating.

I don't think anyone would name their child something that just comes with an unwritten "thundercock" after it. "Chad Th- Chad! Put your shoes back on, we're in public!" I know that's what happens every time I say the name in my head. Edit: Chad was very popular in the late '60s, until a steep decline in the early '70s which mellowed out to a gradual decline in the '90s and has stayed that way ever since.

I've wanted to be a mom since I was 18. I held off until 21. I wanted two until I had one, now one is enough. (This decision isn't related to my son, but complications at birth that I'm too scared to go through again.) I think blue pill women will probably be least likely to want children.

No that's all true. I think abortion should stay legal and every woman should have a right to it. But I said that I've never been made to feel like I'm worth less than a man, and that is true. Men and women are both discriminated against in different ways. Do I think the ways I as a woman am discriminated against are worse than the ways a man is? Still no. They're just different scenarios.

I didn't mean it that way, the way I meant it only makes sense if you add on the second part. It's worded weird, I couldn't find a better way to say it. I guess I meant, it's way too much this way to deny that it is this way, as in you'd be blind to see it because it's so obvious.

I started as BP. Then the type of people I was agreeing with started to say more and more outrageous things that just didn't resonate as true with me. I tried to think outside myself, less about how I feel about something, and more about whether it's true or not. That's really hard to do. It's difficult to be in a camp of people who claim that humans are better than animals and we act based on morality, especially when you start to see that no, we really don't. I don't think TRP would have a problem with a woman saying AMALT. Men are this, women are that, and this and that are different things. Their entire ideology is based around what almost all men and women are like, and how to do well in a world where this is true, whether they like that it is this way or not.

I guess it depends on how much being alpha can be learned and cultivated, versus how much is just nature. If being an alpha is learned, then you're doing no harm by learning, having kids, and teaching your kids what you've learned so that they start out that way. If it's just nature, then yeah, every generation will continue to be as useless as the last.

What I mean is that 200 years ago, a woman wouldn't dare verbally or physically abuse a man for fear of being hit back or other legal repercussions. A man could hit a woman or otherwise hurt her and that was okay as long as she deserved it, and you could deserve being hurt for any number of things back then. Now though, a woman can hit or verbally abuse a man and he's supposed to suck it up. Abuse from a man is taken much more seriously. I don't think either of these situations is ideal, but I d…

Yeah, this is just silly. Feminism was obviously at first about equality, because there was so much equalizing to be done. I think one part of what you said is also key. "If it happens I've messed up somewhere already." That isn't how you WANT your relationship to be, and I think that's what a lot of blue pillers miss. Nobody wants their relationship to rely on jealousy and insecurity, that would be silly.

We plan on getting married, but we're too poor to afford the ring he wants to buy, and he's to proud to buy the ring I think is cute. We've been in engagement limbo forever, it's awesome. This is one of the reasons I'm still purple and not red. I'm happy with my boyfriend the way he is. The wall just makes sense. After a certain age (different depending on the woman), a woman just starts to lose her value. Usually around that age, if she isn't already settled down, she will scramble to find someone to settle down with and take care of her and keep her company because she can feel her value going down and knows her options are limited now. It would be completely silly to even suggest that as a woman, you can't feel your value decreasing as you get older. Society puts way too muc…

This is best for her, technically, but not her children at all. Her children will resent her and see a bunch of guys going in and out. They'll have at best weak fatherly influence throughout their development, at worst they'll never see him, and they'll know it's her fault. The best sexual strategy for all involved would be to be the woman an alpha would want to marry and have children with. She is taken care of, and the father loves and influences his children.

In this case I'm inclined to say the person able to give consent was raped. I think no matter what, in any case, if a person is forced into sex that they didn't want, they were raped, even if the other person was drunk, low-functioning autistic, whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/16 02:15 AM
1

Hmm. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. And I guess it would sort of translate to that, but only in a specific scenario. With animals, both parties are incapable of consenting/declining. That's why it's not rape. There's no malice or want on the giving end, no violation or declining on the receiving end, because both parties are completely incapable of even thinking about what the other animal wants, or what they want. So yeah, it would be the same if two humans mentally incapable of giving consent s…

I did say generally. Some animals present characteristics that impede sex, implying that sex is unwanted in some cases, so I guess those specific animals can be raped. In animals that don't present with sex-impeding characteristics, I don't think rape is possible.

Because for them, sex is about procreation. It's not about want. Usually.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/16 01:14 AM

Hmm. Yeah, I guess so. I mean, if someone doesn't think they were raped, then they weren't, right? Because it's all about whether you feel violated or not?

No, I don't think a non-human animal can rape another non-human animal.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/16 12:26 AM

While I don't agree that only verbal consent is consent, I do think this is a bad argument. Animals don't have to deal with consent because they generally don't have the mental capacity to feel violated. Edit: I've expanded on my use of the word "generally" below.

I'll bring this over here from another thread. Someone was talking about how RP men have no sense of loyalty because they'll leave a woman over "any little behavior" and that they aren't worth putting faith in if they can leave at any time. Anyone can leave at any time. But look at what he said, when your competition is a phone call away. Don't want your partner to leave you? Make it so that you have no competition. Be the best. That's not even RP, that's just every relationship. Most men would leave a relationship if they could have something better somewhere else. Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't you? Oh my god. I was told my whole life not to smoke. I started doing it anyway. Willingly and fully knowing I would become addicted and spend unacceptable amounts of money on cigarettes. I can own that because I'm not going to blame my shortcomings on others or society. Where in this scenario am I a victim??? If I ever heard someone call me a victim in real life, I would blow a fuse. Divorce used to be less common because everyone felt like they HAD to put up with each other, because divorce was bad. I don't see a reason to be in a relationship that isn't making me happy. People should be free to leave a relationship at any time. You can want something serious and still not want to put up with shitty behavior. I wouldn't put up with shitty behavior in my relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/16 06:28 AM

RP men tell their girlfriends they can leave any time and will break up with them for any little behavior. Loyalty is not a word in their vocabulary. Can you describe "any little behavior"? If a woman is doing shitty stuff, then why should a man be loyal to her? That sounds like normal relationship stuff to me. Be a good girlfriend, I'll stay around. Act ridiculous, I'm leaving. Seems pretty straightforward. Are you saying that a guy should be loyal to his girlfriend to a fault?

Okay, how about explaining it like this? Say you are really, really thirsty and you want some water. You're not disgusted by the toilet's existence, you just don't want it for your specific need. Relying on the bus is still better than relying on HER for your ride. I am the least turned on when I am driving my boyfriend somewhere and that's when we fight the most. Much to my surprise (simply because I heard so much negativity), I found I agree with a lot of the ideas and much of the frustration that gets vented around here. Well for me shit testing and complimenting aren't the same thing. I do give genuine compliments all the time and the tone of my voice shows what my intention is.

I like to tease him about things like his ears. He once told me that one was higher than the other and so now everyone once in a while I say something like "I love you even though you're deformed". Also, when we got together it was a huge thing to me that he was 4 years older because I'd never been with someone older, so I call him old all the time.

We actually had that conversation a while ago. At first it did hurt my feelings but once he explained why he wouldn't want to marry someone who had already had sex with a certain number of people, it did end up making sense and we're past it. Also, I'm well under that number and so his feelings towards women who have had more sex than me don't apply to me anyway.

Well, the way I think of it, why would I care that TRP is "giving away secrets"? Maybe I don't really know what I want so I can't tell a guy how to get with me, but if he can figure it out via something like TRP then why would that upset me?

So what keeps some people from cheating with hotter, younger versions of their partners?

Yes. When we first started dating, I looked up to him hugely (and still do). He was very attractive and as a result he could kind of dominate me just by talking to me. I was hugely turned on basically any time I was around him for a while after we started dating because I was so lucky. I fantasized about having sex with him all the time. Of course over time that fades as you get to know each other. I guess that is where shit tests come in. So now, when he answers a shit test in a direct, truthfu…

As this is something that women naturally do, I'd imagine most of the time it's unconscious. Why don't you tell us? :) Well when you put it that way, a lot of the time when I ask him something along the lines of "does this look stupid," "what do you think about when you masturbate," etc., I do not at that moment have an expected and hopeful answer in mind. But in the milliseconds before he answers, I do consciously realize that there are things that he could say in response that would disappoint…

Their biggest mistake is saying "rape strategy". It's hard to take anything else seriously once you throw that in there. Edit: my username comes from a race I ran with my dad and his friend. He took a picture of his friend casting his jacket to the side of the road and caught him in a blurred frightened gesture. "Here we see Austin in a popular pose known as the Startled Butterfly."

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
