You've really confused me OP. Normally it would be the women who want the children and wouldn't accept a relationship unless you agreed. I'd assume most people here don't want kids. If you do though, find a women who wants them too, shouldn't be hard at all.

You missed the point. He didn't mention his wife buying anything for the sake of it and still blamed her. The answer suggested to swap places and see that she is just spending what is needed to run a household, especially when they have children to provide for.
