Just announced divorce to wife of 15 years, telling kids today. Need helpHuh? Well that's different then I heard from every educational expert and childhood development expert and therapist. Your school example is also not what I have experienced as a parent either. There's lots of work that goes into switching grades and classes and transitions. Preschoolers are the classic example I think of when transition from home to school. They often have tears and tantrums. Preschool teachers I know have transition times worked in their schedule. Lol. Have you even been to a … | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/10/19 08:01 PM

Just announced divorce to wife of 15 years, telling kids today. Need helpI think men need to do that from the start. Take paternity leave, share calling out sick for the children's doctor's appointments and school. Help plan childcare and wash clothes. To ask for a sudden change at the time of divorce when the children are already going through a ton of changes is not fair to the children. I would recommend most people to slowly increase their involvement before demanding it. It would be a much more sustainable development then the sudden change. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/10/19 06:30 PM
Wife just said the following the court messaging app...What info did you want? Most info is on the website like how to join the PTA, Facebook groups, school supplies needed. To me your calling was more than average. I respect that lots of people like old-fashioned communication of the telephone, it's just not how schools work. I'd look into communicating through email or if the class has an app, and going to the meetings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/10/19 01:35 AM
Wife just said the following the court messaging app...Calling the school 5 times before the year even started is not normal. I can see you calling once maybe twice. Other than that you turn in your custody order. Fill out the paperwork online. HIPPA is not going to allow a nurse to provide medical info over the phone unless you already form to allow such conversations. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/10/19 08:52 PM
TX divorce, spouse strategically postponingThoughts- what is your end goal for your children? Do you want to be splitting custody across borders or do you want them to stay in the us? If it were me, I'd be doing everything to help my ex secure citizenship. Then she'd be able to work (without too much hastle) and live in a closer proximity. You don't get to choose full custody and ex has to fly into see them. Assume either she or you will have the school year and the other the summer. If she has to be sponsored to work then there is a ver… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/09/19 03:59 PM
Flexible HSA Account DepletedI would think that's just standard cost of living and not part of your combined assets. Sorta like grocery money. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/08/19 07:05 PM
Temporary hearing date set. (TX)Talk to a lawyer. Tx has a standard possession order and a couple other calendars, including a 50/50 one. They usually want you to use one of those and not come up with your own. A order based on your travel is very unlikely and doesn't provide the children with consistentancy courts are looking for. It's also unreasonable to ask an ex to plan around it. 10 out of 30 days is 1/3 of the month you are not in town. That is not 90% of care. At most you are doing 2/3 of the care, assuming your ex is … | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/05/19 06:54 PM
