Edited to add: I know I'm not doing it correctly here in terms of formatting/tagging my post... This is my first time posting on a tablet as opposed to a PC and I'm not sure how to do all of that!

I mean, this is a good point, but I guess I'm more the "do the intersecting things together, do the separate things separate" kind of person. But obviously, he is not, so I suppose I must work on that.

Yeah, there really isn't any room in the day to wake up earlier or go to bed later. I already wake up at 5 a.m. Not because I work, but because I make my husband's breakfast and lunch. By the time he goes to work, the kids are up. By the time the kids are in bed, I'm completely drained. We are experiencing this tonight. Knowing that I have to be up before dawn tomorrow, I'm exhausted by 8:30. I wish to go to bed, and he is upset by that...

I think part of my issue is what CQ said... I need to carve out some weekly me time. I really fail at that. When I read your phrase, "I lost out on a night with my husband and kiddo", my first feeling was, "So? I LIKE alone time." And that right there tells me I am desperate for it. I think I will talk to the DH about all your suggestions, including that need for alone time.

Damn, y'all don't pull no punches... rubs wounds, lol. Well, my argument for the whole "while we were dating" thing is that when we were dating, we didn't see each other as much as we do now, so it was easier to be more "on" when we were together. Also, I fall on the autism spectrum, which I didn't know yet when we were dating. Autistics develop obsessions, and when we were dating, well... HE was my obsession. I know it's not an excuse, but it does play a part in all this. But yes, maybe I do sa…

I think mabeol may be on to something... I might actually try that! I deal with this issue as well. It seems to only affect certain fabrics (never jeans or sweaters... usually fabrics that are more workout-y like you're saying). It's always seemed to me that it's worse if I leave the item in the washer too long before throwing it in the dryer.

I am pretty much a same-10-meals kind of person. I have four children, one of whom has food allergies, and I myself have a (different) food allergy. We're also on a pretty strict budget, and on many days are pressed for time. All these things lead to a same-10-meals lifestyle. I very rarely succeed at meal planning. When I do, it's great. Dinner itself is pretty casual here. We all tend to pick a spot on the couch. I ALWAYS serve my husband first, then the two little ones. The big ones serve the…

I find it much easier to get along with males because I fall on the autism spectrum. Men (or boys when I was younger) never required the amount of eye contact, emotional connection, or female-oriented small talk that most girls/women have always seemed to need. I find myself preferring to have no friends than to have female friends. I'm a mom, so I have "playdate friends", and I have acquaintances that come through my son's sports teams and such. My husband and I do have a few "couple" friends, …

Yeah, I took a quiz like that, I ended up "androgynous". There are a lot of things about me that I'd consider masculine. I think most of them line up with my autism spectrum traits. During childhood/teen years, it was difficult for me. Then I got to kind of a place where I embraced it. Now I realize I just need to be with a man who is even more masculine than me (which I am). I can still be feminine in comparison w/him, and that is nice. :)

Signed. Fuck him. I would hang him my damn self. God there is nothing I hate more in this world than the people who rape and kill little ones. I will pray a Rosary for this sweet baby tonight.

Fuck. Her story is sad as shit. So is the story of the woman her husband had an affair with. I didn't even know any of it before.

Well, I need a new purse, because mine got stolen. :( But typically, it would contain wallet, chapstick/lipstick, glasses, sunglasses, Catholic prayer booklet (rosary too, sometimes), pens, maybe a brush and some ponytail holders. Sometimes weird, random kid stuff like a Hot Wheels car or some Goldfish crackers, lol. Car/house keys. Phone. That's about it. And I had the cutest wallet EVAH, but that got stolen too. I just ordered a new one today. I'd add a pic if I knew how!

I didn't seem to have problems on the pill, but I did when I used Depo-Provera for 18 months. Depression and anxiety, mainly. However, this coincided with postpartum, so I'm not sure if one or the other or both are truly to blame. My younger sister used Depo and gained about 50 lbs. in a year.

Ha! Always interesting to see how words get twisted. Well, never mind. Can't expect a blue piller to get it, especially not over the internet. Maybe sitting down with a cup of coffee with this person would help. But since I can't do that, I'll just keep on self-improving and reaping the rewards!

I can only speak for my own marriage; we are very traditional. I stay home with the kids, that makes me responsible not only for them, but also for the bulk of the housework, as well as errands (grocery shopping and such). He in turn provides the financial support, as well as traditional "man" chores such as cleaning the gutters or fixing things that are broken. We're pretty damn stereotypical.

Yes! The really cool thing is, not only have I learned to hold my tongue, but I have realized why it's annoying. In the past, when I WOULD have said something, then if we would have subsequently been annoyed with me, I would have been like, "What did I do wrooooong?" all whiny-like. Now I totally understand.

Sit down with your husband, and with a pen and paper. Make a list of how many hours you need per week for various things, starting with the most important. Like, "I need 5 hours per week to do one-on-one work with Timmy; 10 hours for Jack; 8 hours for Susie. I need 7 hours for dinners; 3.5 hours for lunches; 4 hours for showering and dressing; 6 hours for nursing the baby." Don't forget to add in sleep, and don't forget to add about 1-2 hours each day for the little things that pop up out of now…

IDK, I think it is really just my personality. I have always been a really modest person. In all-women's locker rooms, I don't change out of my bathing suit in front of anyone... I go into a toilet stall. I don't really know why I'm that way... is it a subconscious reaction to my mother's more liberal attitude? I don't know. But yeah, I do feel like it was all negative. Not to say that is was any sort of extraordinarily traumatizing, it just always grossed me out.

I tend to lean to the side of modesty. I went nude in front of my son until he was probably 2-3; my daughters until they were about 5. I grew up with a mom who was very comfortable being nude in front of us (daughters) even through our teen years, and it kind of traumatized me, lol.

Recently, I was speaking to an older man (probably in his late 60s/early 70s) and he was telling me how when he and his wife got married, all he could afford was a $20 ring of some sort of cheap metal. He had tears in his eyes as he told me this story. I can tell by how he speaks of his wife that they love each other very much. The idea of refusing a proposal without a certain cost of the ring just makes me sad. :(

Our wedding was very, very frugal. Dress: $100. Veil/tiara: borrowed. Shoes: $35-ish. Makeup/hair: done by my brother's ex (she was a beautician). Photos: Gifted by my parents' neighbor. Video: None. Venue: $700 (same venue for ceremony and reception). Rings: around $400 for mine, around $300 for his. Officiant: free. Food: We kept it to around $200-ish I think, since we had a late afternoon wedding with an appetizer reception. Alcohol: none. Cake: $200, created by a lady from our church who did…

Wild at Heart is on my husband's bookshelf right now. I don't know if he's ever read it (he received it as a gift years ago). I read Captivating a few years back, and had the journal that went with it, but I don't remember a whole lot. I read it when I was evangelical Christian (which I'm currently not). Funny thing is, it's very possible I might agree with more of it now than I did in those days.

Totally. There are so many positives! My struggle is that I want to shaaaaare the positives with the woooorld. Why won't people listen, dammit? Haha, ironically, that same impatience is probably what made me such a difficult wife for so many years. :)

Yes, I know I picked up my mom's bad habits, and it sucks. But like you, I'm on a journey to unlearn those habits. That is good advice to tell my dad stuff like that. We both tend to be verbally reserved with one another, so it might be awkward, but I think he definitely deserves to know.

I can't speak for all of Dierks Bentley's music, but I like the song "Riser". It is good RP man epitomized. It reminded me immediately of my husband the first time I heard it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQDbjIh3_Ts]. I also adore this video by Thomas Rhett (the woman in the video is his wife IRL). I remember how my heart hurt when I watched it a few months ago. I knew that my husband didn't see me the way he sees his wife. (And it had nothing to do with her looks). I hope to utilize RP kno…

So I am still brand-new here... I think I found this site what, five days ago? The amount of "good" is like, unprecedented. It feels like with virtually every conscious thought, I am bursting with epiphanies. Red pill ain't no joke. good... like, everything. Seriously. Motherfucking EVERYTHING. I can't even begin to explain how this has changed the dynamics of my marriage and, like, my SOUL. Guys. Just. Seriously. bad... um, pretty much nothing. I'm enjoyin' it while it lasts. ugly... IDK. Yeah, an old friend of mine used to talk about how she was "gang-raped" as a teenager. I didn't meet her until we were 24 or so so who am I to know the truth? But the longer I knew her, the more she seemed to be one of those people who made shit up. Like how she was "infertile" and begged everyone to pray for her... she already had two children, and when she got pregnant with her third it was a "miracle"... and then she had a fourth like a year later. Sorry but that doesn't strike me as true inf…

I've definitely felt veeeery grateful that my last name isn't this, or isn't that. The worst last name I ever dated was Hopfauf. I'm glad I don't have to live my life with that name, not gonna lie. But Mr. Cumming? OMG. I don't know, my Lord, I just don't know.

Your last sentence is sooo true. I know for me, a key had to turn and make it "click". I had read and heard about traditional gender role dynamics in marriage for ages (and I even partially believed in it), but I definitely had to have it sink in for myself, not because someone else told me.

Hi, fellow newbie! Luckily, my sister doesn't really lean too far liberal or feminist. She's more middle-of-the-road about all that stuff... I think there's hope... I think she's just entrenched in subtle controlling behavior that has grit on my BIL bit by bit. Like my husband, my BIL is a truly good man IMO. I will try and lead by example as much as I can... the physical distance makes it hard, but I'll try my best.

I do a big salad every day. I take a large, shallow Tupperware container and fill it with basically what you'd find behind a Subway counter. I toss in an ice pack to keep things cool. I add snacks like fresh fruit, granola bars, etc.

My goodness, this site is so refreshing, I almost feel like crying. I am brand new (just found it yesterday) so I am kind of emotional about all this! I think I was in a place of coming really close to losing a good man. It is fantastic to be here, it really is. Because it really is bizarre to have someone ask why you make your husband coffee!! But most ladies do not seem to see how bizarre it is.

I pack my husband's lunch also. I, too, rise between 5-5:30 a.m. While he's in the shower, I make his coffee, breakfast, and lunch. My husband works his butt off for us each day so that I can pursue my dream of staying home with our kids. The least I can do is this small thing for him. Plus, it saves us money!
