I’ll walk up to girls and start talking to them and they give me the weirdest look every time. Sounds like something else is the problem. I mean, your friends with looks have it on easy mode, no doubt. Unless you're quasimodo, looks probably aren't your issue.

I just feel lonely and starved of a women's caring touch to be honest. That sucks man. My only real advice would be to do your best to learn to be happy with yourself. Your brain is amazing at finding patterns and justifying its preconceived notions. Figuring out how to work your brain so that it can figure out how to make happiness rather than justify unhappiness is different for everyone. The only thing I generally suggest to everyone is gratitude journaling. If you're not yet in the "I really…

The thing about clowns is that they put on a mask. If you're just funny as part of your greater personality, that's just you. If you're being genuinely being funny just because you're a funny guy, then just own that. If that kills the sexual tension for her, then that wasn't going to work out anyway. If you're trying to be funny in order to impress her, well, that's when you're being a clown. That isn't you, you're putting on the clown mask. It's not about balance, it's about intention.

"Looks don't matter" in the fact that a well-dressed and well-groomed quasimodo can still get laid. And probably with more success than an average dude in sweats who stinks. "Looks don't matter" means "your genetic situation does not preclude you from getting laid" not "you can land anyone no matter what you look like."

You're conflating two different issues. 1) When girls say they "want to be seen and treated like normal people" it is short hand for "guys are acting weird around me by putting me on this pedestal and I don't like it." Which happens to men too, of course, but we're socialized not to bring it up. 2) All people are judged by the people they associate with. So if someone starts dating someone that others judge harshly, they will be judged harshly. If a girl dates down, other people who consider him…

People in this thread are pretending like anyone here said you only need to be attractive or you only need game. Pretty much everyone is saying you need some of both. Zero attractiveness means no one will give you a chance. Zero game means you'll mess up every chance you do get. I don't see anyone saying otherwise.

It boils down to what "man" and "woman" even mean. A lot of folks have a lot of strong opinions on these things and those opinions don't always line up. If a person looks masculine, talks masculine, does traditionally masculine things but doesn't have a penis, is it a man? If a person looks feminine, talks feminine, does traditionally feminine things but doesn't have a vagina, is it a woman?

I find the responses to this post interesting. There seems to be a growing dichotomy between the old school "techniques to score which will build your natural confidence" crowd and the newer "build yourself up and women will naturally enter your life" crowd. Both can work, as there's plenty of examples thrown about. Both have significant dark-sides, where extremists can ruin their lives (eg. manipulative douchebags and treadmill running losers.) Both have been heavily commercialized as well. The…

There's some truth to this but there definitely seems to be a bigger social pressure for women to say they like all of the things that makes a guy boring than there is for men to say they like all the things that makes a woman boring.

Instead, talk about how expensive it is to hire a competent hit man these days. I mean, the agencies just aren't what they used to and nowadays, with social media everywhere, every hitman thinks they're an "assassin." Dude, please, unless you've offed someone who has more followers than the calories you take in during your "pre-workout protein bomb," you aren't an assassin. Sheesh

Disclaimer: I'm aware this is not its common usage. I try to use the 1-10 scale (mostly in my own head) primarily as a tool to gauge what their likely responses would be. If applied objectively as possible, a 10 is likely going to have heard it all before and likely have the bitch shield up almost all the time while a 1 is going to be desperate for any positive attention what-so-ever. Used as a calibration tool, it can temper your expectations and help other folks discuss your approach.

This is silly. We all have friends and acquaintances that we only really consider in a single context. That does not mean we respect them as human beings any less. You and many other folks associate sex and love so hard that you assume any one who doesn't is bad. And I even get why. I personally would not want to be sexual with someone I was not romantically involved with as well. There is an element of analytics to attraction, and seeing how those common behaviors carry over into our digital life is interesting to a number of folks. OP posted first hand observations of their Facebook friends. Nowhere did they say either of the "All"s you seem to be ascribing to them. All that being said, I do agree with most of the advice you've posted. You just seem to be coming down hard on a specific part of the community unnecessarily.

The example was not to illustrate your options in a restaurant, but instead illustrate the relative value of providing (buying a cd, paying for a meal) vs creating (writing and performing music, cooking a meal) which was the question. Besides, not all dates require a meal let alone a restaurant.

Rather than discuss each point, let's cut to, what I think, is the heart of the matter... Go after what you want. We're both, pretty much, saying "Go after what you want." You're saying that you should go after whatever hobby, profession, interest or passion that drives you. This will make you a more confident person and can certainly improve your self-esteem. I agree, and think this is great advice! However, you're relating personal experience where this led to receiving the "secondary" concern…

I think I need to play a little devil's advocate because I'm not sure I can 100% agree with this. There are plenty of people who have a thing they dedicate themselves to in large part who still don't work well with women. As an example, if I'm all about being a WoW Raider and I'm the top of my damage charts and blah, blah, blah... Frankly, I have a very limited pool of women who will share my interests. Women will not naturally flock to me. The unspoken rule here is you must become a badass at b…

This isn't limited to just women, but people often complain just to release the tension that they're dealing with. Frustration and annoyance happen and everyone has a different way of handling it. For many, it's simply venting. Folks find a sympathetic ear, and just let out all the shit they're dealing with. Generally, they're also not looking for advice which is one way to ruin the venting (I've done it and had it done to me before.)

So social proof from the venue; even more social proof from the bartender; confidence and outcome independence when she mentions the boyfriend; boldness when asking the other guy to wing; confidence that making out with good looking women is what you do when asked what you guys were doing after the winging; likely a high amount of leadership in taking girl to secluded area; and plenty of safety and respect by taking it just far enough. Seems like a perfect storm. Nice work. :)

Not every one wants to just 'get laid.' Plenty of other reasons to come to this subreddit. Though I do agree with the sentiment 'not to pass on sex because the girl isn't ideal.' Sex is fun. Why would you pass on fun? Besides diseases and such... Also, no woman is ideal, so if you're holding out for the 'one true love' you're going to lose anyway.

People are different, obviously, and at the tactical level you're right. If the super-confident girl responds better to your more agressive self, then let that part of you come out. If the shy girl responds better to your more laid back self, then let that part of you come out. Or whatever. This is all part of calibration, if you want the techie term for it. Falls under the 'be awesome' part.
/r/seduction16/09/12 05:18 AM

One thing to note: You can't expect them to bloom for you just because you're being sweet. That lay lies the path of either the Friend or Dick zone, depending on how you act when they don't 'meet expectations.' If you have a cool, sweet, shy girl just treat her as you would any other girl. You act cool, show interest and be awesome. She'll come around or she won't.

I'll combat all the naysayers and say that with the right set up, it could work. Your instincts are right thought. It is really cheesy. That can actually work for some guys though. If you are regularly cheesy and getting the right kinds of responses (balancing cheesy and sexy so that you don't come off as a clown) then your business card could certainly work in there. The 'be confident' is fairly self explanatory and decent enough advice. Confidence is attractive. Make sure you have solid inner game (see the side bar) 'Be yourself' should be read as 'do not be fake.' This too is decent enough advice at its face value. It's fairly simple to sniff out people who aren't acting congruently and women are typically (stereotypically?) deft at sniffing out incongruency. Similar to the one above, if you have solid inner game, your outer game will tend to mirror. Plent…

"It's a mistake to discount complex things just because discussing them takes the romance out of it." I really like this line; although I would also caution that you can easily let this notion take you down the path of "analysis paralysis."

You're entitled to your opinion and I'd hate to disagree with you on your cake day, but I do. Those sorts of subtle dynamics happen regardless of whether you're aware of them. Analyzing (and you can't spell that word without "Anal") them may not be your cup of tea but it still happens. At that point, it's unconscious. Humans, unconsciously or consciously, will place one another into hierarchies. We all judge, whether or not we're aware of it. Taking initiative by deciding how you want to be perc…

I don't see that. If this were the only woman he interacted with that evening, it might've been one thing. However, he made a decision that he didn't want to go home with her. He tried to be playful and fun despite that but she ended up getting belligerent. When he had had enough of it, he told her off. Don't see the misogyny you're detailing here.

Probably calibrating wrong then. Humor is one tool in your toolbox to create attraction. After the first few jokes failed, you should recalibrate and try a different approach. Tend to agree with Dantering down there. No worries man. However, next time if you sit down and she doesn't, just tell her to sit down. That would've been a good way to demonstrate leadership.

I think we'll just have to agree to disagree. I've never gotten that sense from reading FRs here. I would venture the opinion that most of the people here do not use jargon in an effort to dehumanize the people we encounter. We use terms like HB, AMOG, Wing, etc. to help better explain what is going on not because we see every woman as a number.
/r/seduction13/01/12 09:24 PM

No, but jargon is jargon. I don't see why using jargon to discuss one thing is inappropriate but using jargon to discuss another is not.

We don't have to, no, but we're not writing these for common consumption. We're writing these for other people who are studying the same thing. /r/seduction13/01/12 08:53 PM

So you would instead prefer that we threaten women's anonymity by identifying them by name? And if you counter is a fake name, how is that any different than any other unique identifier? Except that we all use numbers and jargon to help us communicate. There's nothing wrong with using a lexicon that helps us better understand what it is we're trying to learn. By saying a woman is an HB7 as opposed to an HB10 does not mean that she's less of a human being. And to say that women don't work differently than men in general is demonstrably false. Their hormones are different, culture treats them different, they are taught different behaviors growing up, they have different bodies wit…

Easiest topic would be themselves and the environment. Opinion questions are a quick and easy one. Avoid yes/no questions unless you already have ideas for topics from either answer. For example, you see a girl at a coffee shop. Go up, say Hi, and say, "I'm looking to try something new. What kind of coffee would you recommend?" That would be the most blatantly obvious one. You could pick out something they're wearing/advertising, "What do you think of your iPhone? Are you a big Apple fan?" Or he…

Strategy vs. tactics, man. Most guys don't have much of a strategy and that's why these posts are good. Befriend everyone, assume attraction, etc. are strategic. Tactics are difficult for something like this because it's very important to live in the moment and use your surroundings to your advantage. If a guy comes up and attempts a cockblock the tactics of doing so are rooted in the situation. If a girl seems to be interested and you want to escalate, the tactics involved will be very differen…

You don't have to bed every woman who comes your way and if you just want to enjoy the ego-trip of being chased by a few women, nothing wrong with that! Women explicitly do the same thing so turn about is fair play now and then. Just make a decision on what you want from a woman and be sincere about it. "I want to take this girl to bed but it's a lot of fun having her chase me, so I'm going to let her do it." Sweet! Let the flow happen and be ready to take the lead when you're ready to seal the …
/r/seduction03/01/12 09:31 PM

Depends on if you're enjoying being chased or if you want to take the lead. If you want to take the lead, turn it up a notch and keep on leading. If you want to be chased, well, it's a slightly different game. You already know how to look for indicators that your efforts are working. It's your turn to give those indicators back to her to tell her her efforts are working. Just be aware that few women (in the American culture anyway) are willing to climb all of the ladder steps while leading.

It's really not too hard. The difference between a hook up and a relationship is the intensity. That's the beauty of what Seddit teaches. As courtesy often is, I think it's a matter of opinion. I wouldn't find that any more or less courteous if someone picked up the phone and said, "Hey this is a bad time." and if they just never picked up the phone. In either case, they're busy and can't talk. If someone doesn't respond to a message I leave them, then I might find that uncourteous.

I'm confused as to how this is more or less courteous.
/r/seduction07/09/11 07:30 PM

Do what works for you guys, I just don't quite get the distinction. Both making a call and sending a text will cause my recipients phone to make noise. Both of them are trying to get the other person's attention. A failure to respond to either one results in the same idea being transmitted, "I'm busy, now's not a good time." I don't really see how one is more or less courteous than the other.
/r/seduction07/09/11 06:46 PM

I never did quite get this. If someone calls and it's a bad time, I just don't answer the phone. If they leave a message, I'll probably call back at the next opportune time or shoot off a text which they can read at their leisure.

You may also want to keep in mind that by being functionally asexual you may be doing the lady a disservice. Women like sex as much as men do (if not more) and if you do start a romantic/sexual relationship but you never put out, she might get turned off on that. Of course, the annoying part is she probably won't verbally say, "I thought you wanted sex. I want sex now. Why is there no sex?" So, if you want to start a long term relationship and the woman wants sex, you need to accomodate her, jus…

You made a promise? Be a man and stick to your promises. Go. Have fun. See what happens.

Methinks the OP wasn't suggesting that but I can't read his mind either. :)

When I was AFC (as opposed to now, where I'm a recovering AFC) I was liquored up one night and confessed to this girl. Not three words were out of my mouth before my brain went "You knew the answer to this question, why bother asking?" I finished asking the question. Totally shot down but felt good about myself for at least making an attempt.

There's a difference between taking inane action for the hell of it and taking measured action to accomplish a goal. I don't think you or the OP were suggesting the former. :P

Most snipers work with a spotter. If you're the sniper, it's your job to make the kill. A good spotter helps keep you on target and to watch for things that'll get you killed. Seems like an appropriate analogy. No harm in bringing a long a spotter, or hell making someone (bartender, some other guy, some girl and her boyfriend) into your spotter.

Yeah! Don't make people reading actually have to think "Hey, is this a good idea?" which, y'know, is the whole point of this thing. Thinking for yourself and acting on your own.

That's one of the most complicated ways of saying "Everybody was horny!" I've ever heard.

Bullshit. When you realize clucking like a chicken isn't going to get you laid, you've learned something. Learning something != done nothing Then the next time, you try something else (Moo like a cow perhaps?) until you find the most effective animal noise to start your night off with. :D

You used your powers for evil. Everyone steps on a roach or two in their life. Just don't let it become a habit and truly get over it. :)

"I miss you" can mean a couple of things. It might mean "There is a desperate lack of attention from you!" It could also mean, "You're interesting and I want to get to know you more and our time apart is unacceptable!" One is needy, the other is a little more assertive. Decide which one you really want to say and say that.

Atlanta area, so I'm 100% certain there are PUAs around, I'm just not sure how to get in touch with them, etc. Nor do I really know what bars they would be at. Edit: And that all makes sense about the opening though isn't there the "Social proof" bit as well?

Probably best place to start would be advice on running solo/where to go and so forth. I've never been much of a bar person or club person, so any ideas on how to find good bars/clubs to go to, etc.
