Yeah. I read your comment first and thought you were being overly critical for him LETTING her treat him. But no, he actually suggested it. OP, it may sound like an overreaction, but that was a pretty dumb way of flirting. It only emphasizes the age difference..

The entire article is premised on a made up statistic, or at least one with dubious premises. And then the conclusion... fuck that man, this dude probably had a quota of articles to write in a month, and ran out of topics.

Wow, that was very creative. My apologies if I misunderstood him, but I read his analysis of the quote as meshing with the article of OP: you somehow want to be attractive, but (?) not too attractive, which is obviously not the point of the quote.

That's because it's not.

I did this before because I was crashing on an ex's couch for the an extended period of time. The last thing I wanted was for her to catch me mid act. I found that I was way more motivated to approach girls, but I don't think it helped my "game" at all. I was a bit more desperate, less energetic (at least in mood), and when I did hang out intimately with a girl, it was my belief (perhaps paranoid) that she could sense my over-enthusiasm to have sex and it might have put some of them off. And thi…

Oh man... the unattractive part drives me nuts. I don't mean to sound too shallow, but when the judges start clapping for a guy who #-closes on a really unattractive girl, I just roll my eyes. I wonder if the writers of the show discourage the judges from imputing personal opinions of physical attractiveness.. The drunk part is tricky, because you're picking up girls in a bar. Do you really expect a guy to approach a girl, and then be like "Oh, you're too drunk to hit on. Sorry." It's one thing …

My personal experience is a little different, but I can see where you are coming from. I was a wrestler in high school, and continued to improve my body in college. Now that I've graduated, I've let myself slip in the finer details, though I am far from out of shape. Even so, I don't notice any drop in the kind of attention I command from girls, even with a slightly rounder face, and arms that are no longer noticeably strong. I think physicality is more dependent on height and not being fat/too …

Congrats on making the best of it. My grades are not great, but solely because of work experience in finance and fluency in Chinese (as a white guy; shouldn't matter, but it probably did), I was lucky to get a great 2L summer job in Beijing. The thing is, I absolutely hated it. The partners seemed miserable with what they did, the associates were all recent transfers from another firm, and I couldn't find one that had been there for 2 or more years (giving the impression there is extremely high …

If they are on the job and it's a busy day, don't be that guy. You don't want to piss them off and every other customer waiting in line. But in a coffee-shop especially, if there happens to be no line and she doesn't seem preoccupied with cleaning, doing the books, etc., use that opportunity to engage her. I don't have any funny one-liners to break the ice, but I've had success with asking for something clearly not on their menu: a milkshake, something with alcohol (it's been a long day....make …

I wouldn't call it self-validation so much as deprecation. But I see where you're coming from

My friend showed me this show called "Keys to VIP." I don't recommend the show because it's kind of rubbish, but it's basically a reality show where average Joes are pitted against each other to pick up girls under a variety of "scenarios", and a panel of "experts" judges their performance. The point of my story is that despite the fact that some of the contestants are absolute losers, every so often they actually get some success when they are sent in with a line, or a rule to begin the pick up…

Great summary of the hamster wheel that is law school! Ever since the first semester when I had a quazi-relationship with a girl in my section (big mistake), I have exclusively sought girls externally. I'm also sort of with you regarding what constitutes game... I think a lot of the advice thrown around on this subreddit is bad by itself but together accomplishes an overall frame of mind that is conducive to developing attraction. I started quite young, and have never really had to think about i…

I think it conveys a more powerful message without baby-feeding us the obvious moral.

Absolutely. But as much as we like to make fun of seemingly ancient law, the US seems to always find a way to run a legal comedy. I was practically humming "God Bless America" while reading that!

I'm a male, but definitely not a typical lurker of r/mensrights. Having said that, rape laws as they are today are pretty slanted towards females, however, one could argue that this movement was a direct reaction to a historical advantage (a pretty ridiculous one if you have read old cases) towards the male defendants. It's not so much an issue of proving that the plaintiff has a history of falsely yelling rape, but instead males could often get off (no pun intended) by bringing up the defendant…
