FaithChurch can help you with community & connection/belonging. But with everything else, I would advise you to just rely on yourself. Don't wait for God or Jesus to step in and do stuff for you... you gotta make stuff happen yourself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/25 11:16 PM
Filing next week - My Wife Relapsed Again. I Think I Need to File. Advice Needed on How to Start.Sorry to hear this, it sounds agonizing. Move as much assets as possible to cash before your separation date. Find a hobby or game to occupy your time and distract your mind... keep your sanity. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/25 11:12 PM
Ban cursing/swearing??She doesn't have a list of words. But yes, she did indeed put "no curse words" around the kids in her initial request for order. Thanks for the creative advice and reassurance, definitely appreciate it | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 05:21 PM
Ban cursing/swearing??You and I seem to agree that cursing is ok as long as it's not out of control. People like Marcus Lemonis, Mark Cuban and Jon Taffer are very astute prestigious, well-respected businessmen, but they can also curse with the best/worst of them in the right moments, and it usually earns them more respect. Cursing is a useful tool in the chest when wielded appropriately, especially for boys/men. That's what my stbxw doesn't understand. She thinks all cursing is all bad all of the time for all people… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/25 02:40 AM
Ban cursing/swearing??lol, thank you! Brilliant ideas, and I am sooo "frickin" tempted now to get her to list all the words that are off-limits hahaha! Btw, the way she would enforce this is by asking the kids if we cussed. If they both lie and say "no," then I'm fine. But if one of them says yes and the other says no (no doubt she would strategically try to make this happen, btw), then she would accuse me of coaching the kids to lie to her... which is a more serious offense than the swearing, I'd say. It just has "t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/25 02:18 AM
Ban cursing/swearing??Awesome, thank you! | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/25 07:33 AM
Ban cursing/swearing??Of course I won't say "I want to cuss and I'm going cuss to my little kids" in front of a judge, duh. What I want to say is she's attempting to take away my freedom of speech, which isn't right. If I stub my toe and impulsively shout "dammit" while the kids are around, are the language police going to come get me and reduce my custody share from 50% to 40% and increase my child support payments? Seriously... | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/25 07:31 AM
Ban cursing/swearing??Lol... colors of clothing.... nice! How about brands of clothing? She always buys overly-expensive brands. The kids are well dressed, yes, but no one really cares, and it just runs up a high credit card bill for her every season. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/25 07:26 AM
Ban cursing/swearing??I hear what you're saying. I make it very clear to my kids that they should watch their language in many settings, especially at school. However, almost all their peers and their peers' parents curse. It's quite common where I live; part of the culture. If my kids end up being the only ones in town who can't or don't know how to curse, they will be considered weird and have trouble making friends. I know this because it happened to me as a kid. I couldn't curse, even though everyone around me (o… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/25 07:23 AM
Did any of you find it impossible to ask her to do…anything?Yep. I, the man, am expected to always obey and compromise. She however is never expected to behave this way. If I ever disagree (even with a thorough and logical explanation) then I am being cruel and controlling. With relationships, modern American society is completely sexist in favor of the woman. Seriously considering moving to a diff country rn. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/04/25 05:27 PM
Why are women always so quick to advocate divorce?Amen. Thousands of years ago this was not an issue among humans (although there were other issues ofc) | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 06:36 AM
