Respect 🫡 though I’d personally have gone with a more classic comeback, like: “If you want my comeback, you’re going to have to scrape it off your mum’s teeth.” If the IRS or FBI come a knocking, I doubt they’re interested in reasoning together with you.

Same. I’ve got all 5 saved up for my son, in addition to Rich Cooper’s and (perhaps somewhat controversially) Jordan Peterson’s book(s). Gotta try and give him as many tools as possible, in addition to giving him advice and modeling what solid frame and mental point of origin looks like.

I’m 2 years post-divorce and still single. I’m too busy to entertain a woman and her bullshit right now. Maybe in another 6 months I’ll be in a position to do so 🤷🏻‍♂️ but I’m honestly not all that interested in dating right now. Take your time man; don’t jump into anything too quickly. You’ve all the time in the world.

It only takes a few cases to set a strong precedent. Can’t give up hope mate. The backlash/course correction is coming. 50+ years of single motherhood have left our society in shambles; more and more people are wising up to the prevalence of narcissism and cluster b personality disorders in women v men and their deleterious effects on child rearing. We may not live to see the kind of social/judicial change we’re longing for - but our kids might.

Imagine what a smoking gun that could be for any fathers currently having to battle out custody for their kids with their psychotic exes. Provided one could find a lawyer with the stones to make that case.

Mine too. It’s appalling. The kids are never their own people; in the eyes of the NPD/BPD they are merely extensions of themselves.

Women immediately lose attraction to men who exhibit emotional vulnerability. They need men to be emotionally stable so that they themselves can emote freely. Never listen to what they say; always watch what they do. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, talks like a duck …
/r/MensRights02/08/22 05:26 PM

Yeah … unfortunately you are correct there. le sigh but what are we going to do, sit on our laurels and hope for the best? Keep on keeping on. At some point enough people will cue in and petition their representatives for change to be possible. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but at least in our children’s. I’d like my son to grow up in that kind of world.

Firstly - mate: she can be a “great mum” and still be a shitty spouse/person. “Great” here can mean anything from simply meeting the kids physical needs to going above and beyond for their well-being. Secondly: regardless if she is a “great mum” or not, it’s on you to see the bigger picture. Is she putting the kids’ needs/future opportunities above her own preferences? Or (as I suspect is the case) is she conflating the kids’ well-being with her own personal preferences as being one and the same…

That’s a first step. Might I recommend a prayer rule? Regularity and discipline in prayer that is outward-focused - not just in terms of what one needs but focused on who God is - has done wonders for me. Maybe you could derive similar benefits from it? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Man, I’ve been where you are now. Two years later, I still find myself wishing I could have responded to her in kind. Told her all the things I really felt. I’m going to make the case that it’s better you haven’t yet, from a religious perspective (if you’re not religious, bear with me here, and know I don’t mean any offense): you don’t yet know what God is going to do. I worked in Healthcare. It was one of the most negative work environments I have ever experienced. I was the only male in my department; the level of gossip and cat fighting between my coworkers was astounding. Eventually these old biddies(90% were over the age of 50) decided to start gossiping about how I must be sleeping with the only young-ish woman in the department (she was nearly 10 years my senior), just because we got along in the office - and by necessity had to, because we were all cow…

But - I got the divorce finalized when they were 2 and 8 months, respectively, so thankfully they’ll never remember the horrible things their mother would do in front of them to their dad. No worries there; after what I went through with my ex, I’m no longer the marrying type. My replacement is currently still being groomed; poor sap has no idea what he’s in for. I was the one who filed. After spending 3 out of 4 years desperately trying to get us the counseling we needed, I finally realized that no amount of counseling was going to help - she was highly abusive and was determined to remain so. If I went in, I’d go in with the goal of making it a career (at 30, I’ve run out of time to make a career out of anything else, and my ex sabotaged my last career). I’d like to go in as an officer, but according to the recruiter I spoke with I’d have to go in as an E3 first (even with a college degree) before I could make my way to Officer status. Guess that’s new policy (I called the Army afterwards to verify; they do that now as well). Yeah, my ex would absolutely love the chance to be as vind…

I have; trouble is the area I live in is very rural, and there’s not much opportunity here to qualify for. The ones that are available you have to pay to join/get certified (like if I was to go into trucking for example). Classic catch-22; gotta have money to spend money … Ex-wife wants to stay here because she got the house in the divorce and her parents pay her bills.

That’s good to know (and thanks for the article; I’ll definitely check it out). I scored an 82 on the practice ASVAB going in cold, so I’m sure with a little brush-up I could pull better. I’d also need to sit a language aptitude test to qualify for crypto linguistics, but I’d be fine with that. I learned a German as a kid, taught myself Esperanto just for kicks and giggles. Love languages.
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/22 07:25 PM

Appreciate that brother. Totally get it; that’s a part of why this decision is so difficult. But I’m also at the point where it could go either military or homeless/in jail because I can’t pay child support. Either way, I’d lose out on time. This system is so broken 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks for serving, sincerely. Rah ✊
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/22 07:23 PM

This is really solid advice, thank you. I was looking at going in as a Cryptolinguistic Analyst; I’ve an aptitude for learning languages and that would put me in position to learn a 3rd, plus handle classified documents. Haven’t spoken with a recruiter on that score; just met with one last week to explore my options and sit a practice ASVAB. What are your thoughts - good career field, or not specialized enough?

💯 outdated legally binding agreement. Worst thing you can do as a man right now. Maybe when shit hits the fan and we get some reform in the courts we’ll see it be a good idea again, but so long as one party can leave at any time with cash and prizes and leave the other party destitute - don’t do it.
/r/MensRights10/07/22 06:51 PM

This is helpful, thank you. I spoke with a recruiter; he didn’t have any insights to offer in regard to how child custody would shape up after joining, but did tell me that if I did join, since I have a college degree, I would immediately go in as an E3 (Airman First Class) and after a year or so would be eligible to become an officer.

Being able to not give a fuck about being liked or about social media, but to just drill down on my goals and pursue them. Honestly, it’s not meant as cliched or as a “female-only” problem (I’m sure there are guys that are hooked on SM too), but the majority of women I meet are glued to their phones and all about social media validation. Hey man, been there. My ex-wife started dating a new dude 7 weeks after the divorce was final (which meant she had been grooming this guy for months). Aside from the anger at the divorce itself and the way life had turned out (for me and my children - she accused me of abuse, had me forcibly evicted from the home, kept the kids and me apart for months at a time just to spite me - tried to get me fired from work, the works); it was surreal at how she could just pick up and move on when she was do…

I would suggest amending the child support laws to actually invest in what the child needs vs making it a blanket percentage of income that the mother can spend indiscriminately, but no, if it was my child I would pay. Not quite. One of the measures I’ve taken is installing security cameras in my/outside my apartment (I don’t live in a particularly safe area, and at the time I was worried my ex and her family would come snooping around to allege something else - “his place isn’t safe for the kids, etc.”). Turns out that’s a double-security measure, because now I have evidence for when/if I leave my home, and it’s much harder for them to allege that I’m a bad father either. It’s not a perfect system to be sure, but in those instances I would argue: 1) never reveal you’ve recorded your conversations/whereabouts unless a false accusation comes about. 2) in the instance they try to assert your intent to post online - don’t panic. They have to prove intent, not you. Time works in your favor in that instance (if you have a long period of time recorded and have never posted anything or misused those records, it’s harder for them to make that case. 3) in the event you’re …

Hopefully the men engaging in that sort of behavior are successful in vetting partners prior to sexual activity to weed out those types of psychos. But having recorded evidence of before and after (if there is clear speech consenting to the activity and affirming it after) might suffice.

This is true - but if enough men were able to do it and counter enough false allegations - and what’s more, strike back hard - change could happen, no?

Depends on your state. Most states allow for people to record their conversations if one of the two (or more) people agree - so basically if you consent to yourself being recorded, you’re fine.

If anything, it helped me make sense of what I was seeing in the dating world but didn’t match up to what I had been taught how relationships/dating worked. It’s not the Gospel; don’t take it as such. I’d say use it as a resource; read other sources as well. Take what works; discard what doesn’t. No More Mr. Nice Guy is another book I’d recommend 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tip would be to go monk and not date until your established financially. You’ve done the hard work physically - now you need to educate yourself on the dating scene and how women think/operate. I recommend Rich Cooper’s book “the Unplugged Alpha” and Rollo Tomassi’s “The Rational Male” series.

Lol ja, ich spreche Deutsch, y yo hablo y entiendo un poco Español. Been applying everywhere at this point mate; remote or otherwise. So hard to land a freaking interview if you don’t know the right people, regardless of your credentials. At this point I’ll take anything that can pay ca. $55K/year (that’s what I’d need to break even). Tried the starting my own business bit; that’s actually still going on, but most businesses don’t see a profit until their third year, and mine is only a year old …

Thanks man. Been applying for 2 months now for more/different work. I’ve a college degree, 10 years of public speaking/international communications, data analysis, strategy, team leading, recruiting, sales, videography, teaching, etc. I’m bilingual. I’ve sent out over 230 applications so far. I’ve had 3 phone calls (2 of which were scams). Insanely depressing.

Presently $387 for 2 kids in KY. Income is at 40K/year; ex wife has been suing me for the past year for more. With inflation and cost of living being what it is, I can’t afford to pay even to support myself, let alone more child support.

Doesn’t matter; you’re presumed guilty until proven innocent. And even when that’s shown to have been a lie - there’s almost always no consequences for them. You’ve got an uphill battle ahead of you for sure - but there are things you can do to give yourself as much of an advantage as possible, at the very least to equalize the playing field. Here’s what I recommend (and it worked for me - I got 50/50 shared custody and parenting time, despite her false allegations and using the state to kick me…

Something that major can’t be done trivially. Trivial choices lead to regret. I have no regrets for divorcing that woman. I regret marrying her; that was a decision I did not make carefully.

Document EVERYTHING. Chances are when you tell her you want a divorce she will call the police and claim domestic violence to get an advantage in the divorce proceedings. You will be forced out and denied access to your children. Only inform her after you have spoken with a lawyer and have taken precautions to protect yourself and your children.

Give a bitch the benefit of the doubt - but always doubt the benefit of the bitch. If she’s 41, she’s likely very post-wall and looking to consolidate on a good long-term provisioning prospect. Tread with caution. At 40 you can easily date women in their early/mid 20s.

I’ve kept my wedding ring in a drawer by my bed since the divorce was finalized 2 years ago. I keep it to remind me not to make the same mistakes again. Eventually going to have it embedded on a sign that reads “Never Again” (with the ring as an interpunct between the two words). Might mount it on a wall in my garage or something 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was mistaken; was thinking of Canada. But still - in today’s misandrist, gynocentric society, any way they can try to exploit you they likely will. I don’t recommend getting married or cohabitating until you can be ABSOLUTELY sure that person won’t go nuclear on you. And even then - my personal belief is that people are inherently unknowable. It’s perhaps an overly simplistic but still accurate view of the matter. Sperm on its own does not give life, same as an egg on its own does not give life. But given the abundance of sperm vs the limit of eggs/time for gestation, child-rearing, etc. the analogy still stands.
/r/RPChristians21/05/22 03:03 PM

Assurance of paternity. Eggs are valuable; sperm is cheap. Also: men are valued by women for their ability to attract/woo other women; hence the deemphasis of chastity for men vs. the emphasis for chastity/virginity for women.

Gotcha, okay 👍 So the reason you want to be cordial towards your WS is because from the moment you decide in your mind to divorce her, through separation, all the way through the divorce itself you have to operate under the following assumptions: 1) the burden of proving your own innocence in the event she makes false accusations against you is on you, not her. Lol reminds me of a “Drug Sniffing Cats” comic strip. Two cats are working in TSA; one says to the other “Hey, do you think we should tell the humans that there’s a bunch of heroin in that man’s bag?” The other cat slowly looks over and says “Fuck the State.” Kinda sums up what marriage has become. Weaponized male indentured servitude to women with no accountability or consequences for them, but everything and more for you if you dare go your own way. Fuck the State. I’m not getting them involve…

Ugh never date from within your place of worship. Everyone will pressure you to do so under the impression that you all share the same values, etc. Don’t do it. They’re just as if not more crazy because they know they can weaponize your faith and morals to suit their own ends and get off scot-free because womanism. Sorry to say it but “don’t crap where you eat” applies to church too. Other than that, way to go your own way king ✊ killing it!!

Does she frequently exaggerate for dramatic effect? Could be an indicator of HPD (Histrionic Personality Disorder). Even if she doesn’t have it but is prone to such expression, you can count that it will mean a lot of drama and pain in the long term. Avoid drama queens - they’re broadcasting to the world that they need attention (or else).

50/50, but we’re stuck in a dead-end town with no real job prospects. She refuses to work and wants to stay out here because she got the house in the divorce (she’s currently trying to marry some poor sap at the moment who will pay for her to continue to do nothing). I’m struggling to keep my head above water and am grieving the future my children now share, given how bright they are and the complete lack of decent schools anywhere near us. Damn, my ex-wife acted out all of those. She told me outright once that the kids were her. (Therefore, what was in her best interests automatically was in the kids best interests.) projection much? 🤦🏻‍♂️ If I had a nickel for every time in our relationship she had insisted that she was incapable of lying (shocker: she was lying when she said that 😂), I would have been able to pay my legal fees out of pocket. 1 and 4 speak for themselves. Damn straight. 12/18. This’ll be year 2. Another date I keep track of is 6/26. That’s the anniversary of when I was forcibly evicted from my house under false charges so that my ex wife could have elective cosmetic surgery done on our infant daughter without my consent, in addition to taking a vacation with her family. Not a date I’m fond of remembering. But it’s one I make myself remember, so I never forget what I’m up against if I ever think about getting married again.

She can falsely claim DV (all she has to say is she’s afraid of you) and the police will take you from your home. She can get a restraining order against you to keep you from your home and kids without having to prove her charges are credible. Record everything for your own safety. Comport yourself as if you’re already being recorded as well. You can get a RecJoy off Amazon for as little as $10-$15 if memory serves. You’re put in the impossible position of having to prove a negative by default. Record everything (especially arguments) to build up your own credibility in court. Be consistent to the truth. Let her dig her own grave. Don’t expect to come out on top though. This will be a hard road ahead, but you will save yourself so much potential damage just by being prepared. Prior to my divorce my unstable ex threatened and ranted constantly. I saved texts and by the time I filed had over a year of audio s…

That stuff stays in the vault though. Don’t post that stuff on the internet - you don’t want to run the risk of her finding out and then suing you for defamation or slander (even if it’s true). You’re in good company in this group mate. Talk with someone - definitely see a therapist - get in the gym, and grind out a new routine for your life. The first year is hell. Embrace it - don’t shy away from it - and train yourself to look on this as a new lease on life, as you grieve the death of your old one. Healing will come. Lol oh if you have kids you should absolutely take care of them. Male or female, doesn’t matter - you have a duty to your children to love and raise and prepare them for life. But if you’re unmarried, have no kids, and society decides to push this kind of bullshit as law? Yeah naw son, go galt and watch society crumble. Notify your lawyer, make sure all your documents are in order, sit back and enjoy the show. The government may not care much about the rights of fathers, or children’s rights to their fathers, but it gets VERY pissy if you lie on federal forms.

This book was a huge help in my own divorce, as well as to other friends of mine who dealt with similar high conflict personalities. Consider it a play-by-play of what she’ll do and respond accordingly. Terrific resource. Steel yourself; you’re in for a rough period of time. But: you WILL make it out the other end. That might be dangerous. Any experienced lawyer will be able to suss out “baiting” and try to make excuses for her erratic behavior. I’d say if she’s acting consistently crazy, then you’ll be able to time when she starts getting past the point of reasonable behavior. Time your recordings for those moments and make sure you tread lightly. Crazy always shoots itself in its own foot; all you have to do it sit back and watch. Don’t let yourself be baited, and don’t make any concessions to false accu…

My now ex-wife did the same thing. Our marriage was spiraling down the drain and I expressed my concern to her one day that I was worried we weren’t going to make it if we didn’t take counseling seriously (she was always against us getting counseling; insisted we didn’t need it and that everything in our relationship was all my fault anyways, my sole responsibility to fix, etc. - I’m sure you know the type). My son does this a lot too. It’s very normal. It doesn’t mean he loves you any less; he’s been through a traumatic event himself and is trying to express himself the only way he knows how. I had a therapist tell me recently that if he tells you things like “I only love mommy, I don’t love you,” etc. - he’s not saying those things because he means them. At that age (mine’s 4) he’s expressing himself to you in those terms because he actually feels secure enough in your love to say so. God only kno…

Men love idealistically; women love opportunistically. We have to recognize that the way we interpret love is fundamentally different from how they do. Always has been. The disconnect comes from the steady diet of Disney narratives over the last 50+ years that push this blank-slate equalism garbage on everyone, pretending that there are no differences between men and women. There are. We can’t be mad at women for failing to be something they were incapable of being from the start. That one’s on …

Two words: Fuck. That. I recognize NAWALT, I get that it’s “unfair” to other women, etc. etc. but going through the divorce grinder - especially with kids - and seeing just how women are incentivized to behave poorly with absolutely no consequences whatsoever, while losing what little I had and now having to rebuild - even a year and a half later the injustice of it all still stings. And I recognize how fortunate I am that I managed to get 50/50 custody through it all, despite false accusations,…
